Your pancreas is getting activated and they want it to work properly. By consuming the breakfast as outlined and then following the rest of the day, the pancreas only has to secrete insulin once in the morning. It is crucial that this be followed for the two weeks so you are set up for Phase 4 and maintenance. My daughter has be to several IP training sessions and was explaining this to me. Novak, WannabeIP, what say you????
I know it's intimidating, but you'll be fine. It seems like a lot of food, but do your best to eat according to the protocol. If you can't finish everything, certainly don't gorge yourself, but try to eat the complete variety of foods. That is, don't cut out the fruit (or any other item), but cut back the amount if necessary. Have a half a banana instead of a whole one... you get the picture.
