  • Thanks for the welcome WannabeIP,
I have my WI tomorrow and then Phase 2 begins on Wednesday. I am going to have to get my lunch stuff in order..... I'll be patient-but I really do look forward to the shopping and then the consuming of the BB
  • So, in my dream state of phase 3 (which will be far away since I seem to be in a bit of a stall), I checked out the muesli at the store today and it all had raisins in it -- is that OK? I thought we weren't supposed to have dried fruit on phase 3?

Mine does too, I just look at the carb count and don't worry about it. Also, I don't have it everyday, I alternate between english muffins, muesli, pancakes and toast. If you're worried, you can always pick them out.

    I am droooling reading this!

  • I have a question for you experts out their I am starting phase 3 tomorrow and this morning my coach said that I don't need to eat all of the things that they list for breakfast. She said to not over stuff myself. I am very scared to move to this phase. I am very comfortable in my phase 2 and sometimes phase 1. I am sorry if you have already answered this question.

Hmmm....I believe if you read Dr. Tran's book and what I have been told by coaches. In Phase 3, it is critical that you eat the prescribed breakfast at one sitting. Your pancreas is getting activated and they want it to work properly. By consuming the breakfast as outlined and then following the rest of the day, the pancreas only has to secrete insulin once in the morning. It is crucial that this be followed for the two weeks so you are set up for Phase 4 and maintenance. My daughter has be to several IP training sessions and was explaining this to me. Novak, WannabeIP, what say you????

I know it's intimidating, but you'll be fine. It seems like a lot of food, but do your best to eat according to the protocol. If you can't finish everything, certainly don't gorge yourself, but try to eat the complete variety of foods. That is, don't cut out the fruit (or any other item), but cut back the amount if necessary. Have a half a banana instead of a whole one... you get the picture.
  • I'm so glad to have found this forum, and am especially grateful for this thread. I am only half way to my goal, but am getting married in 2 1/2 weeks, so my coach is putting me on phase 3 at the end of this week in order to try to maintain my weight through my wedding and honeymoon. I have been very nervous about it, but after reading about the success that everyone else has shared with maintaining through phase 3, I'm feeling a little better about it. Thanks for the wisdom and encouragement!
  • YAY! I'm so excited, I started Phase 2 today with just 1.5# left to lose!! I'm hoping I can get that little bit off by next week and jump into Phase 3. I'm sooo ready for a normal breakfast. I'm a little bit scared, but I've been doing this for 23 weeks now and I'm ready for a change. I've loved reading these forums, they have kept me going. I will continue to check in every day as I make this transition. Thanks to everyone!

  • Hi all went for my weigh in after my first week in maintence...i dropped 2.5lbs but my bodyfat went up 2.2% is that bad, does that mean something bad or just my body adjusting......any thoughts
  • It's official. I lost 2.5lbs for a total of 95 lbs and am on to Phase 2. It is rather odd to think of leaving the security of Phase 1. I will just try to do my best each day with this new phase. For you maintenance people, what words of advice can you give me?

I hope everyone is doing well at what ever "Phase" they are in
