Start of Day 3 I'm really hoping I feel better today. Last night was rough. I ate grilled chicken and mushrooms for dinner and about an hour after I thought I was going to throw up. I couldn't even eat my 4th packet of the day I felt so sick. My head hurt too, so it might have been a migraine. It's strange because I feel good until 3, then it's downhill. It's upsetting me because I live with my fiance, we are only a month from getting married and I feel like I've been totally checked out the last two days. He completely understands and is supportive of me doing this for a few weeks, but I feel bad. I've gone to sleep at 9 two nights in a row and before I went to bed I was cranky. I hope tonight is different- I don't want him to change his mind! J/K

I feel alive this morning!YAY!

Tucker hang in there and hopefully you'll feel better today! Are you doing the 4th packet? I have for the last 2 days and I'm pretty sure that's the only way I made it through.

1ladybug; did you lose the 11 pounds in the 1st week! WOW! You're doing great!

Kristiv88: I'll remember that about the warm liquids...I just wish it would get out of the 100's here so anything warm/hot would actually sound good to eat! Can't wait until Fall. Thanks!

the first week was the roughest for me also. I wonder if it is toxins or carb withdrawal?
I know now that I was definitely addicted to carbs because I used to crave them all the time. Now the cravings are gone and even the week I went off the diet ( for my son's wedding) I noticed that anything sweet tasted really really sweet and almost gagged me out. I didn't really enjoy the "cheats" the way I thought I would and noticed that I felt more sluggish as well. I was glad to get back to eating on plan.
So stick with it, it gets much better!

The first 5 were horrible for me, hang on! I had a high fever and wasn't sure if I was sick or detoxing. You can do it though, it gets easier with time.

Today (day 4) was actually pretty good! No blood sugar problems (real or psychosomatic) and I only felt "yucky" for a few brief periods! I had chicken soup (sauteed veggies added and made the night before) and it wasn't bad at all! Several people at work couldn't believe it was "diet food" since it looked and smelled good! I've dropped several pounds but put my scale away. It'll be more of a surprise at my first weigh-in Tuesday night that way!

Thanks Cptswife, today is much better. I still feel foggy and kind of gross overall, but no headache today. I had some iced coffee this morning which I think did the trick- my coach had me doing breakfast, am snack, lunch, dinner and pm snack, but for the first two days that amount of liquid for breakfast and am snack (+ water) made me not want to drink coffee. I talked to another coach last night and asked if I could switch my am snack to a snack between lunch and dinner. That's what I did today and had a little bit of coffee and voila! No headache.

I'm finding my adjustment to this program strange. I'm NOT hungry at all, I'm not really having cravings, in fact, I don't want to eat period. I'm making myself eat all 5 meals (except last night, missed one packet because I was so nauseous) hoping that one of them will make me feel better, but I just feel like crap in general. Fortunately I already took off a lot of weight, I'm just still carrying fat in my lower body and I'm using this program to get rid of the last few. I'm not quite sure how much I want to lose. My weight watchers goal weight was 138. I was at 141.5 when I weighed in on Tuesday night and this morning I was 137.6. It's hard to set a goal because I don't know what my body will look like if I'm able to lose the fat I want. I might just want to lose another 5 lbs. I just don't know.

Im new at this IP and made it to day 4 and didn't have enough packets with me at work (12hr shift). Therefore I cheated but stayed under 1500 calories. so now I'm eating IP but staying around 1000 calories. I may not be in ketosis but my goal is steady weight loss. Am I doing the right thing? Is it ok to have Diet Dr. Pepper occasionally. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Takingcare

I was told no diet soda, but it depends on your goals. I think a good rule of thumb is that any kind of "cheat" will slow down your progress, but you can't really expect to be perfect.

Hi all! I made it thru Day 3 yesterday with mixed results; felt really good in the a.m. but not long after lunch, felt like my insides were going to explode!! I think I might have almost OD'd on sauteed broccoli the past three days!!!

I was so miserable at work! I was shaky, pale and sweating!! I decided to try some carbonation and had a Diet DP and then found some Tums in my purse (altho Beeno would have probably done the trick too). By the end of the afternoon I felt much better and did fine the rest of the night.

I've sworn off of broccoli for a while after all that drama! Maybe 6 cups in 3 days was a tad bit too much for my system LOL!!!

Today was pretty good; bit of a headache this afternoon but survivable. I have not had more than three packs per day yet so we will see.

You all are doing great! Keep up the good work and I'll keep reading to learn more! First weigh in is on Monday so I'm motivated to get thru this weekend with that looming ahead!!

Good news newbies! I'm on Day 3 and I feel 85% human. Better than I have since I started. Wahoo!

I'm on day 5 and I'd say I feel about 85% normal too! I'm not as hungry as I was on day 3 and 4 but I still don't really feel myself yet. I go for my first weigh in tomorrow, I' hope I'm not discouraged!

Good luck with your weigh in! I've been weighing myself at home and so far I'm down 5 lbs. It seems too good to be true.

I found two restricted packets that I really like- chocolate covered soy puffs and the chocolate pancake. OK, I really liked the puff, the pancake wasn't wonderful, but it was a change of pace from mush or wet.

Hi. I just started IP as well. Finished the 3-day jump start Thursday and yesterday I started the program. So far so good for me. No hunger and no cravings. Wondering if this is why. I've been drinking decaf apple cinnamon spiced tea, and since I hate the Walden Farms salad dressings, tried 1 tbs olive oil and 1 tbs apple cider vinegar on my salad. (loved it)

Evidently, apple cider vinegar is supposed to be an appetite suppressant and also will settle an upset stomach. Cinnamon, too, I believe is supposed to reduce appetite. My coach told me to start the day with 10 oz of warm water with some lemon squeezed into it to help with constipation. Will try that tomorrow.

Hope this helps those who are struggling. Also hope things continue to go this smoothly for me. I'm, frankly, surprised because I have a huge appetite. Is it possible to be in ketosis already?

For the Walden Farms dressings, try adding spices to them. We use quite a few of the WF dressings and really enjoy them, but we make our salads with chopped cucumbers and chopped mushrooms. We use Butter Lettuce, add chopped dill pickles, then mix the salad dressing with a tsp of olive oil and Mrs. Dash seasonings (my favorite is Fiesta Lime). Then pour the dressing on top and MIX THE SALAD. I think this is really key. If you use the Thousand Island, kick it up a little with Cumin and Chili Powder to make a Southwestern Thousand Island. Also, the bacon ranch is awesome as is! We order online from netrition.com (hope it's OK to say that) and all of them are only $3.77 each with a flat $4.95 shipping cost. We ordered the Raspberry Vinagrette for my mother and she loves it. Before giving up on them, try the spices and olive oil blended with it to see if that helps. BTW, I have been on this for 8 weeks as of this next Monday and have lost almost 20 lbs. I was a huge carb eater (sweets, breads, chips, etc.). I have not had a single one of those in 8 weeks and don't even want them. I NEVER thought that would be possible, but my cravings are totally gone. Best of luck to you!!

Sounds like everyone is doing great! I'm feeling much better; except for the headache I woke up with...nothing like feeling hungover when I haven't had a drink!LOL I'm thinking it's caffeine withdrawl...so I'm drinking some coffee now! Kind of nervous going to dinner and a concert tonight, but have a plan and have already checked the menu at the restraunt so I know I'll do good; and have fun! Have a great weekend everyone!
