Something is going on though! Look at the email we received this morning from our "IP DR":

"Hello everyone!
It has been an interesting, fun, and good week already at Ideal Weight Loss Clinic and the week is not over yet. I want to take a minute to talk about something, it is a topic that is not meant to be terribly condemning; however, it needs to be taken to heart with much grace, love, and sincerity. The topic is the topic of CHEATING! I first want to reiterate the point I have made several times (in the office and at both "Evening Outs")...cheating will not be tolerated. I have made more compromises this week, with patients cheating, than all previous thirteen (13) weeks combined. People are still losing weight (that's the beauty and effectiveness of this program), but many do not when they cheat.
Here is how I look at this, as well as how corporate holds me accountable towards the topic of cheating: we all got to the place of being unhealthy, fat, overweight, out-of-shape, on too much medication, low self esteemed, depressed, unhappy with ourselves, and just downright selfish from CHEATING...either cheating our family, our spouses/partners, our bodies (temples), and/or most importantly our own inner man/woman. The physiology of the human body is created to run efficiently, effectively, and productively provided you don't cheat it! Our spirit man is much the same way, if not more so. So my point is this...Corporate holds us physicians accountable to how well people perform on this program. Corporate does not allow cheating and we are not supposed to either. If we do, guess what, WE'RE CHEATING. It rolls up and down the hill both ways. Now with all this being said, I want to take this opportunity to let each of you know I want you to succeed and reach your goals more than most of you do. Your success is my success! As we get busier and busier at Ideal Weight Loss Clinic I will be held to higher and higher standards and so will our dieters. Please don't read anything into this message, just take from it exactly what is intended...do the program as it was designed!!
I take what I do seriously and I want each of you to do the same thing. Those of you who have known me through chiropractic know, I am not in this for your money or to build up my ego, I do this because I love helping people live a life full of vitality, inspiration, and happiness. So, let's all re-focus, re-adjust our direction, and put our eyes and minds back into our manuals and follow the plan! You and your wallet will be thankful every step of the way. Blessings to all of you!"

Here's my take on this... It's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY - as usual...

Corp IP wants to keep up the great free marketing it's getting from the like of us raving about our successful weight losses... therefore building up their business... I know that their business has grown a ton since being passed by the FDA and being able to sell in the US... I, myself have gotten 3 other people to start in... that's $$$ for Corp...

It's also big money for the Drs and Clinics - I don't know what their % take is from each box sold but I'd bet it's a fair amount... These 'coaches' are getting scared that Corp might come in and take that profit stream away from them if Corp thinks that they aren't producing results therefore lots of referrals...

This is different than how JC or WW works - both of these Corps want to make alot of $$ too but put money into advertising and celebrity spokespeople rather than relying on their true success stories - also, JC and WW make so much of their $$ from 'return' customers... those who lose some weight and get off track and start up again the next year etc, etc, (I did that too) -

So, let's hope that IP's approach of 4 phases and letting our worn out pancreases heal really works for a lifetime -- no more supporting the mega billion $$ weight loss industry!

-just my thoughts - have a great day! -

-Teresa

I need help with Veggies! Before starting IP the only veggies I would even touch were corn, carrots, broccoli, salad and pickles! For the past few weeks the only thing I've had for veggies is salad - one for lunch and one with dinner. I know I need more but can't find a recipe or a way to prepare them! There have been a lot of things posted on here - but I'd like to know, what are your favorite veggies??? The ones you couldn't get through this diet without?

well I wish I liked broccoli but I don't SOOOOOO.... and I am not much of a veggie fan

I have Spinach
___blend it with my Omelet mix
___Raw with Olive Oil
___Sauteed in Olive oil with a bit of lemon and garlic

Cucumbers skinned and with sea salt and a touch of apple cider vinegar (mix it well so they all get it)

Or Kale Chips (love these)
Ingredients
1 bunch kale
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt

Directions
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.

Hi, EmmasMommy, I buy the huge bags of broccoli flowerets from Sam's Food Warehouse, measure out 6 oz. (8 total carbs, 4 net.), and microwave them for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. I love turnip fries. My friend eats turnips raw like an apple for lunch. I have been cutting up celery sticks and dipping them in Walden Farms peanut butter spread. I also love the large cucumbers. I like cooked cabbage. I make an omelet every Sunday morning with 2 eggs, 1 cup of spinach, 1 cup of chopped mushrooms, and a few lightly cooked onion slices (it's OK if they're lightly cooked). Every now and then I have brussel sprouts, snow peas, and tomatoes.

I'd like to have more choices too. I love salads, only with tomatoes, garbanzo beans, and cheese etc. now when i have an all bootcamp salad it's not very tasty at all.

So far ive had steamed broccoli or cut up a cucumber with WF dressing for lunch. A couple of times i steamed some whole mushrooms for lunch and they were good with sea salt. not alot of choices there. Sometimes for dinner i have a 5oz burger with lots of pickles and mustard. feels like such a treat! LOL
Tonight i'm going to have "fajitas' beef with cooked green peppers and onions (coach said it's fine to cook onions).

also thanks for the post on having the snack before bed. I drank a 'hot chocolate' last night and the scale shivered down several ounces.
:)

hopped on my scale this morning and it didn't work...it's broken :( I tried changing the battery and everything.

My husband says I wore it out from hoping on it 3 times a day for the last three months...

Sigh.....now I'm debating if I should get a new one and keep obsessing or if I should just let my coach weigh me once a week and stop scale hopping for a living.

Oh my, I am so confused and bewildered!!! I went in for my weigh in yesterday and my IP coach, rep, or whatever else you want to call her---really acted strange. As soon as we got to the back and out of ear shot of anybody else--she said we needed to have a talk--that the IP people (corporate) had been in and they pulled my file and I must be cheating or working out too much because "anybody above 200 pounds should be losing 8 pounds a week" that is a direct quote. I do work out about four times a week and when I first started doing that the doctor in this office approved it. I did have two 2.5 pound weeks and I was cheating and eating some peanuts--but those two have been my lowest. Yesterday when I weighed I was down five pounds for the week---and I would have thought this was good. I read Dr. Trans book and I thought the average for a woman was 3 pounds a week. She acted like they were coming out with new guidelines or something. She also said that if anybody cheated they were suppose to kick them off the diet immediately. (I know you are not suppose to cheat, however, I have been on this since 1/18/2010 and I am only human).
I wear my feelings on my sleeve and I know that---I just do not understand--was she wanting me to quit? This five pounds marked the fifty pound mark in my losses and I really expected a different attitude. Maybe I'm not being reasonable, but it just seems every week this rep, has been rather insensitive in her comments and remarks and this just steped things up a notch.
Has anybody else out there been told that if you are over 200 you should have eight pound losses per week? I really think maybe I am going to tell her what I think and try to finish this on my own. I just don't know.

Just a little note on this, I was initially introduced to IP while I was an exhibitor at a conference in FL, they had the booth next to me, some of the coaches said they allow 1 cheat, second time they kick people off, I decided to to idealtogo with a different coach, (none are near my home) I saw the coaches and reps at a conference in NJ this week, again we were both exhibitors, these people are awesome, all of them said they are there for support and to help their dieters stay on plan, as well as help the offices they work with help their dieters stay on plan, they are there for support, and not kick people off, but to figure out why. I also met the national sales director, and can understand why some people are tough and some are not. It really depends on the coach, I told them about my 14 lb loss in 5 weeks (including one in Phase 4) and they were all so excited for me. I really think it's not the corporate people being so nasty, based on the variety of reps and people I've met, it seems like they are working on the individual coaches to support the dieters, and those who are getting cracked down on are the ones seen as not being supportive. Just my opinion based on who I've met, and NSV, starting phase 4, maintenance today, it feels great, well worth the work everyone, you can all get here!!!!:carrot:

I stand on mine every morning and have to hide it from my husband as he disagrees with me weighing myself everyday as every time I stand on it he says "there she goes". He says my facial expressions are priceless when I am standing on it. If mine broke I would not replace it.

I love my scale. If it died and I could not resuscitate, I would definitely have to replace it. :D

I have to second this one---I feel I would die with out my scale. Okay --- I admit it I'm addicted--I just can't walk past it without stopping to see if the number has changed from last time.

Teresad 04-16-2010 01:14 PM

i don't think I'd make it without weighing in every morning... but once a day is all I can do -

I say "Let it R.I.P." I get discouraged when I see it go up at all, so I like knowing that when I weigh in with my coach it will definitely be less!! Try it for a week, if you develop a twitch, go get another one
