What a nice feeling that is! Enjoy the excitement, more people will start to notice.

That's super - others are noticing - it's a huge motivator to keep you on track.

I had a funny thing happen at church - a lady had asked me about what I was doing to lose the weight and another lady overheard and commented she didn't recognize me and couldn't figure about who was sitting with my husband and where I went.....pretty hilarious...

I second the notion that to keep our sanity one must cheat every so often ...
That may work best for some, but not for others. For myself, I don't believe in cheating on this diet.

Thanks,
It's just a couple more days until the 12th... you'll probably be okay. That said, I didn't wait. I ordered vanilla and mocha - how bad can the mocha be? I've consumed some pretty awful-tasting stuff on this diet!

The neat thing is I had to eat two pieces of tilapia to get the full IP serving size, made me feel like I was eating a huge meal. Didn't even have lettuce tonight, no need for hunger reasons!!!!
The frozen tilapia is so handy to have around... rub on some spices and slap it on the George Foreman! Quick and easy. It's great that you got such a deal!

Thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement! This is such a great place and I feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful and motivating forum!!!

Emichelle - that is too funny! Congrats on your loss! Keep up the good fight! Will definitely have to keep motivating each other so that we continue on to our goal!

I agree with Birman and Jordanna - I would rather not have any cheats because to me one mouthful of something sinfully delish wouldn't end there. I know that if I went off plan - it would be very hard for me to get back on. Been there done that in the past with other diets and it wasn't pretty!

Re. the Spry gum - I am also a gum addict! I chew it in moderation throughout the day when I have to meet with clients (my chemical breath is really really bad!) - but the regional coach gave his blessing on it. Stated as long as it wasn't sweetened with Aspartame - it is okay - in moderation!

Someone (sorry I forget who!) had asked about feet size getting smaller when you lose weight - yes all of my shoes are much less snug then before. Don't think the actual size changed - but maybe just the plumpness of them did!

Have a great week everybody!
Remember, You Can Do It!!!

I am absolutely with you, Birman. I don't want to be on this diet any longer than necessary, and I certainly want to maximize my weight loss relative to the considerable financial investment! I may take an accidental misstep, but I can't justify allowing myself to do so knowingly. I chose not to exercise the control I had over eating that got me into this mess, and I'm not going to let that happen again.

This diet works virtually 100% of the time if you follow the protocol. According to the book, there is no correlation between the seriousness of the slip and the weight-loss process. Backsliding interrupts your efforts to lose weight. Period.

That said, I understand that other factors may override one's determination to strictly adhere to the protocol. I totally "get" depression, emotional eating and finding comfort in food. I'm still trying to shake the effects of family tragedies in my own life... and now is the time that I've chosen to take control over my weight. There aren't that many things in life that I CAN control, but this happens to be one of them.

So for me, it's not an occasional "cheat" that gets me through, but the knowledge that I have the power to make this change in my life, and I'm exercising that power without mercy! And unlike the short-term pleasure of a glass of wine or a piece of cake, the effects of the diet are cumulative and long-lasting. Virtually every day, I feel better. I look better. My mood is better. Those are the pleasures that motivate me.

Down another 3.5 lbs this week. I only had high numbers my first week and I was hoping for another week or two of high numbers but it is what it is and I am keeping my eye on the big number.
