is that the steam cleaning thing? I can only compare that to a swiffer i used to have. it did an o.k. job of a little spill but let's face it - if it's a little spill, it can wait right?

This is an older model, but....http://www.walmart.com/ip/Shark-Steam-Mop/8065570 Is it close to a swifter? I want it to clean my hardwood and tile flooring. But I don't want to buy it if they just don't work. This is supposed to steam everything up to help clean it.

Okay you guys! I've been gone.......to the gym! Last Tuesday, I took an hour long yoga/pilates class that left me sore for 2 days. Then I went again yesterday and ran (yes RAN!) on the treadmill. And then I did some light reps on the wt. machines.

I was amazed at how easily I was able to do the exercises! The last time I worked out was 25 pounds ago. It's like child's play now. Totally an unexpected and light feeling.

On the downside is that I have been sooooo hungry. As hungry as a teenager! So I broke the diet. Yikes! I have got to get it together and do both diet and exercise. Always the hardest thing for me in the past. Either I was dieting or exercising but never both at the same time.

Clutter! Between returning from vacation and preparing and filing my taxes my condo has gone into disarray to put it mildly. Today I have a day off and I am going to file papers to clear off the dining table and kitchen counter. And I am going to organize my IP packs and vegetables (chop and package.)

I need one of those roombas! When I get my tax refund I will definitely think about one.

Visitors! Not even my daughter comes over without calling first. And she expects the same from me. For me, it's a nice way to live. My home is my sanctuary. I deal with other people (and their problems) at work, not at home. End of story.

I grew up in a house where everyone dropped by at any hour! My Dad still lives in that house and people still drop over all the time. He loves it of course. I remember not being able to study, read a book or go to the bathroom without someone interrupting! So now I really enjoy being a recluse. I "go out" and socialize on my terms.

Alcohol: Tonight we are meeting friends in town for dinner and drinks. I have been drinking red wine (one glass 2 or 3 times per week) and it does not affect my wt. loss efforts at all. And I sleep great. I live in California where a good red can be picked up at any corner gas station. Magical! My IP coach approved red wine (not white, not beer, no mixed drinks.) She drinks it herself and has not gained her weight back.

Sylvie! Way to go! Size 9 jeans would be a dream come true. I am aiming for size 10 myself. Currently a size 12 down from a tight size 16 last summer. 70 pounds in 6 months! That is awesome for sure. Good luck with your hubby. I didn't read the original posting about his accident. Sounds like he's on the home stretch and getting the motivation he needs to make it.

Torchlaker......I'm here and will keep coming back. I can't make it without you all. And you can drop by any time, LOL.

I have a roomba - her name is Julia (we used to have a housekeeper named Julia who was an excellent vacuum-er, she stopped showing up one day and we never found out why...) I have 2 cats and a dog and a messy 9 month old and it cleans up after all of them.

It goes from hardwood up on to the rubber mat play area for my little guy no problems. If you have seperate rooms or steps, you could just lift it up and take it to the next room. It won't fall down the stairs because it has sensors.

It gets in to all the corners and actually does way better than I ever thought it would.... Keeps down the pet hair for sure!!

Anyway, I got side tracked by roomba talk...I just stopped in to say thanks for coming back and forth between the two forums, it's really appreciated.

Thanks Mom! (Couldn't resist saying that, LOL) I reviewed phase II and I am leaning towards doing that and going all out with the exercise thing. It's now or never for me. I am going to be 57 tomorrow! I want to be my best self ever.

Reasons for wanting to be my Best Self Ever? All other areas of my life are working so well right now. I have a great boyfriend, a great job, a great place to live and my finances are in order. All I need is to be at goal weight and my life will finally be in balance!

I know, I know. Life just isn't predictable. But just once, Sweet Jesus and/or Great Buddah, O Allah, Dear God, Virgin Mary of Gualdalupe, Anyone!, please can I just be at goal weight along with all the other wonderful things in my life??? Please?

Just so you know, I'm drinking a glass of red wine right now. It makes me very mellow.

See y'all tomorrow. Drop by anytime......bwwwahhhhaaaaaa and cheers.

Thank you! I told my boyfriend that now that I turned 57 I'm as
classy as a 57 Chevy. LOL.

Then he said: and when you're 62 you'll be a 62 Nova. Yes, he is always that witty.

Hi Everyone and Happy Birthday Lilita
I have posted a couple of times on the other site, but have been watching everyone since October. I started at Thanksgiving. THANK GOODNESS I am not the only one drinking the glass or two of red wine. I had several last night and did lose this morning, but am afraid that it will show up as a gain tomorrow. Guilt is not something I want to deal with on this diet!! I've had enough of that to last a lifetime.
Also, I remember a couple of you posting that you wanted a breast reduction at some point. I had one several months ago. I will turn 50 this year and I can only say that I wish I had done it years ago. It's been 6 months and I still am amazed how much easier they are..to move around, to fit into clothes (same size bottom as top!!) Just wanted to pass that along for anyone that was seriously considering this.
And 70 lbs lost in 6 months!! AMAZING. That is basically my total goal and it seems still so far away. Happy to see those numbers. I am so impressed with all of you. And I really appreciate hearing that I can live life and have a glass of wine occasionally and not think I am doing something wrong.

Lilita....I don't know how to do all those cute little balloons and stuff....so I am just gonna say it REAL loud....HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILITA!! We are born in the same month (I will be 62 Feb.22). Something special about us birtday girls. Yeah, I might have some wine tonight....just cuz it is Valentines Day...and I am all alone....and....ahhh...forget it....I will just drink the wine!! lol.

Been doing good at locking myself in the house.....only not accomplishing much. It took me 2 days to make this "difficult' tshirt. I am still not done...it is really cute, but the knit is so heavy that I doubt that I can take it on the trip unless I wear it (and it has ruffles going down both sides...so I doubt that it would fit under a jacket). Back to the drawing board......

Did break down and had a 100 calories icecream bar last night....had no puddings made....no bars...and I needed something sweet cuz I was frustrated with the stupid shirt!! Ohhh...and I even exercised for 20 minutes (hey..that is BIG for me).

I started mixing IP puddings with the Lindora puddings...and it does add some substance to the Lindora puddings. Wish I could come up with another alternative tho. I also made a great meatloaf the other day.....used those soycrisps for crumbs (ran thru the blender)....and used chicken boullion for the milk. The smell was amazing...and there didn't seem to be any difference in taste.

That is all that is new with me (oh yeah, I pulled out the owners manual for my car last night -- haven't driven because I locked myself in the house...remember?? Anyways, I fell asleep by the 3rd page...doubt if I remember anything.

OK - SandraB, SylvieG and me!! (sounds like a song...doesn't it??) We are struggling. I told myself last night that I need to put my "big girl panties" back on...and finish this thing up!! I think we need to think of the time we have put into IP (the money we have spent)...and do we want that to go to waste?

So - I had my dr. appt today....3 month checkup. Won't bore you with the medical stuff, but I did ask some questions about IP. Let's see....

1)I told her I couldn't afford the diet anymore....that I had ordered Lindora. Her response was that she would like to see the package from Lindora. The thing she liked about IP was that the ingredients were pure...not a lot of artificial ingredients or preservatives (I think SuperSweet addressed this on the other forum).

2) I told her that some of "the gals" are doing the alternate plan. She said the alternate plan was for diabetics...not non-diabetics. BUI - she did say she would try to work something up where I can add food instead of products (see, I KNEW she wouldn't throw me by the wayside)...she mentioned tuna fish and eggs.

3) I mentioned that my feet and hands were always cold and that others had complained of this also...and that my dr. in Cleveland had checked my circulation and that it was okay. She suggested warm drinks (I don't drink many warm drinks)...spicy food (like salsa)...anything to raise the thermogetics (is that the right word??). She also ran a thyroid test to see if my synthyroid is working.....

4) I asked her what I could eat (using my hands)...and she suggested soynuts while watching t.v. (yeah, she said NO to popcorn...).. I don't have to buy them at her office....just soynuts period. She said the carbs were negligable....

5) I told her I have been "going" ever since I started eating sugarfree chocolate covered almonds or peanuts before bed. I go every day. She thought it was the nuts...rather than the chocolate....and perhaps I could have a few plain almonds at bed.

Basically, she wants me to buckle down and finish what I started and have 2 weeks on maintenace before I leave for St. John on March 26th. She wants me to succeed so bad....and you all want me to succeed...and I want you all to succeed!

Ogdog - did you eat the pizza? A pizza shop near me makes the most amazing "Rueben" pizza for one month a year. It has a sauce, corned beef, saurkraut and cheese...and did I mention....Only from Feb.17 to March 17th (St Patricks Day). I think I could probably pass up regular pizza right now....but knowing that Rueben Pizza is coming out in 14 days....oh geez!

SandraB - I haven't been below 153 since Dec.15th (when I went off IP)...so I know what you are saying. I also don't want to use IP just to maintain...too expensive. So - ok...we need to do something here. Why waste the money we have already spent and NOT see it to the finish? (OK - I sound really big and brave today....what happens when the muscle cramps start and I quit going to the bathroom....again??). I am going to try my drs. ideas, too.,,,and that is why I shared them!!

Wouldn't Lane Bryant (the store) have bras in there? Maybe I should go there! Size G, huh? My niece is a Size G. Here I am complaining about DD! (but the thing of it is....I don't want big boobs now! I wanted them in my
20's and 30's. I was a 32A when I started dispatching in 1975...they couldn't even find a police shirt that fit me !!)

The Clarisonic is a cleansing brush....based on the Sonic toothbrushes. I think the bristles rotate something like 400 times a minute (or was that a second??). I'll bet if you go to qvc.com, there is a video on it....

I had my facial today....and decided something (altho haven't worked out how I am going to do it financially). My beautician massages arms, hands, shoulders and neck while different lotions are doing "their thing." Ya know...it was the most relaxed I have been since the middle of December. Maybe we should try a massage once inawhile to take down our stress levels. I LOVE massages, but they always seem like a luxury-item so I get about 2-3 a year. I NEED something to take down the stress level....and it might help with my chronic headaches too.....(now I just have to figure out HOW to do it).

I better go make some dinner and drink more water!!

I have not read far enough to find out if you found a cost effective solution for your massages...I thought I might recommend you going to a beauty college or school. Along with the normal hair services, they offer mani's, pedi's, waxing and sometimes massages at low, low prices. I like going as it saves me money and it helps the students get experience.
