I also only cheated with a little bit of the mayo/cheese in the stuffed crab....sorry echobaby, I didn't catch your recipe until this morning....and a tiny bit of homemade spinach dip (made with 0% fat, low carb greek yogurt). So, all in all I didn't do that bad cheat wise. The buffalo shrimp were a hit, along with the turkey pepperoni chips, which my dogs loved the most...LOL.

Torchlaker, congrats on your new vehicle. Hopefully that part of your stress is nill now!!

Toomancats, how are you feeling? Is it passing? I surely hope so, being sick sxcks!!

Yeah, the commercials by and large sucked. But Ogdog, I ask you:
WHO DAT?!!!!

Ogdog13 02-08-2010 03:10 PM

That's right baby....WHO DAT???

Lilita175 02-08-2010 03:12 PM

It was The Who.

I like the first one. Will try tonight. I think I'll just use a spoon to drop the mixture into the oil......that's what I do with tuna patties.

Ogdog13 02-08-2010 03:19 PM

LOL! Did everyone enjoy the half time show? I thought the lights/stage setting was awesome. I have to laugh, I've seen The Who in concert before and man if they just can't hit those high notes like they used to. :( All in all, a good show....made me want to see them again if they're going to have the same stage/lighting setup.

Yeah, the light show was great( especially since the roadies had to get it set up in 10 mins.) And yes, the Who is getting a little long in the toof. But they still rock.

O.K. at the risk of sounding stupid what's the background on Who DAT? I get what it means but... why?

Commercial I did love was the one with the guys where they would do all the things their wives/women asked them to do- I will shave everyday and rinse out the sink, I will put my socks in the laundry, etc., etc. just so that I can drive ?? car. really funny. Man oh Man are the WHO ever getting ancient - lots of hits but they were sure having trouble sounding great last night.

It was from a song/chant started in the early Saints years.....this said/sung with a Cajun accent, "Who dat say dey gon' beat dem Saints?, Who dat?,.. Who dat?" If you've ever been to New Orleans, you know the accent can sound almost like Brooklynese with the dems, dese, and dose. Both my parents were born and raised in Louisiana, as were their parents. I often heard my Grandmother, or "Maman" as she was called, answer the phone with "whodat?".(LOL) There've been a lot of songs since then, including the official N.O. Saints song recorded by, I think Aaron Neville and a jazz band. It's a recording of "When the Saints go marching in", but in the middle, there's a call and response section with "who dat.....whatever the response was". It's like an official cheer.

Yeah, I liked the commercial with the guy doing all the work so he can go drive his Manly Car. I also liked the Bud Light commercials. This is actually the first time EVER I have sat thru the commercials. I either muted them before, or did other things thru the LONG commercials.

I did record the "Boss" -don't know when I will ever watch. Heck, I record 3 hours of "Lost" last Tuesday and still haven't watched it and it is on again tomorrow. I have been so darn busy....and I don't know doing what...but YES...I think the car will bring down some stress relief. Today has been stressful...but my son called at 9am....then at 11am....and then at 1pm....plus I was trying to change my insurance, etc....call credit union, etc. THEN I gave the salesman the wrong insurance info....and haven't heard back from him (I changed auto insurance last spring, and must never have put the new one in my car). I still haven't cleaned out my car yet....I know I am gonna cry ....it seems to be a "link" to my husband. AND get this....we haven't had snow in 2 weeks (no, Ogdog -- we didn't get ANY of that snow you all got.....it was beautiful and sunny up here yesterday and today -- cold, tho). Anyways, we are supposed to get hit with a storm tomorrow....sure, when I gotta bring my new car home!!

What do I do with these leftover stuffed mushrooms? I am freezing the wings individually. Thought it would be a good thing to have in the freezer when I get hungry and don't know what to make.

OK - Lindora update: I tried the Cinammon bar -- pretty good..and the Coconut Almond bar....pretty good. I tweaked the pudding with the toffee bits in it....and now it came out much better. But what about the sugar? Do we have sugar in our IP products? Are you still able to get into ketosis with Lindora products? (probably - because I bought those darn sticks from them).

Tomorrow, storm willing, I am supposed to weigh in. Doc wanted to see the Lindora packaging.....and she was supposed to come up with some "food alternatives" to the packets. I KNOW she is going to say Lindora has too many preservatives.....and sugar.

Nope, I am not exercising at all. Gosh, I need to.....but where does the day go...and I don't even work??? It took me 2 hours to find the stupid car title today...my heart was beating so fast. After 3 talks with my kid and not finding the title, I was whipped. I still need to prepare the rocks for my painting class on Wednesday tonight....clean out the car....wash mystupid hair...and get al my "techie" stuff together so it can be put on the car. This cute Ford Escape has something where you can plug in your MP3 player...and also download about 2000 songs. Plus the garage door opener is built in....Oooh, did I mention it has a backup camera? I have been losing the range of motion in my neck...so hopefully, this will help...and oh yeah, something in there is voice-activated (wonder what happens when I swear when someone cuts me off??) It has bluetooth capability (I hate that thing in my ear)...and the text messages come up on a screen in the car (now what good will that do? I STILL have to take my eyes off the road to read it). I know as I get even OLDER...I am gonna ask myself why I bought a black car, living in sandy Michigan.....

I am procrastinating, aren't I? I would rather sit and talk to you ....

hi guys! have not been on for a week or so, been with my husband in the hospital for yet another surgeory!! so yes, i will join the ranks of committing and going back to phase one. surprisingly, i have not gained weight, with the amount of travel since christmas. but i definitely hear what lilita was saying about feeling liking carrying (was it a basketball?)....it is all the mindgames of knowing that i have not done well, and the mixed emotions i have about that. i have spent alot of time speaking with my husband about this, and have decided that this time right here, right now, is the time to kick start things back into motion. for those who are new, my husband was in a bad accident last christmas, and i do mean bad...he was lucky to have survived, and was broken from the neck down. needless to say he was laid up for most part of the year, and i left work to "nurse" him back to health. we both gained weight thru this inactive and stressful period. slowly, he is getting better, and this surgeory last week was to try and give him more range of motion in his leg, as it is imperative in his line of work, and just daily living. he is again motivated, and really wants to use this time to try and enhance his range of motion, lose weight and regain the activity he once had. so if fugure, if he can do this, so can I!! he is actually motivating me right now. crappy thing is we are separated ( by distance only!) for the next 8 weeks while he is in the city undergoing extensive physio....but he is feeling pumped, first time in a year, so as i sit here starving and wanting to stray (boy that first week is hard!) i just think of him and the obstacles he has, and that i don't have. so i do think i am going to finish this!! by the time he is done his 8 weeks, we have a wedding in the DR!! so that is certainly some motivation as well. so good luck girls, see you around phase one!!

spatime 02-09-2010 01:12 AM

Finally....I lost 4.8 pounds this week.....after only losing 6 pounds total for January, my coach put me on phase 2 to shake things up and last week I alternated phase 1 and 2...gonna do that again this week! Ever heard of doing this?

Ogdog13 02-09-2010 07:46 AM

Spa time, sounds almost like that one person who was trying carbloading a number of months ago. Sort of like you need some carbs back in your diet for you body to react to the diet. ??? Whatever, it is working. Congrats! Are you finding you have more hunger though?

ottawa 02-09-2010 07:46 AM

Echobaby: thanks for the info re: Who dat!! You are getting close to your 150!!!!!

Sandrab: Good luck to both you and your hubby!! Glad to hear that he is so motivated, from what I have heard it helps with rehab!! You can do it!! You have come so far already!!!

Torchlaker: I think your hubby would be proud of you!! I know that it is going to be upsetting to say goodbye to the car, but maybe a good cry will help with stress relief!!
Looking forward to hearing what your Dr says about the Lindora products, as I have been putting off placing an order, for a few reasons 1) I wanted to hear what others thought about certain products, 2) to hear what your Dr. has to say about them and 3) budget reasons.
Sorry to hear that your son is still so stressed, hopefully things will get better for them soon!!
Spatime: I have heard Jillian (from the biggest loser and others) talk about calorie zig zagging (1500 one day, 1200 the next, 1600 the next, 1200 the next day etc) to stir things up with our bodies and that maybe what is happening with the switching back and forth from phase 1 to phase 2, maybe the body does not go into starvation mode with the higher calories. Either way glad to hear that it is working for you!!!

Not much as far as weight changes for me but that is good, my way of thinking about what I am eating is getting back on track!!!
Still really busy at work, got to run, take care and keep up the good work everyone!!!!
