Having a great time with my cousin. We've been having nice weather so far. But, it's raining this morning, and they say it's supposed to clear up by this afternoon.
I am doing just ok dietwise, I've decided for these two weeks just to be careful of what I eat. So far so good anyway.
judi, sorry you had to cancel your trip. Does your DH's home office mean fewer trips to CA? I'm glad that MT is really working for you.
ledom, How did the dress rehersal go? Your fingers must be so sore from all that sewing. I wouldn't be able to flex my fingers for a week!
Cheryl, when will you be leaving for New England? Sorry about your niece wanting to cancel on you. I'm glad that you stuck to your guns.
Alice, it is nice to hear that you are having a great time ..ahh, summer beautiful summer. I hope the weather is good for Lacee and she won't be suffering in the heat. Marley has a big long coat now and in the winter he had it shaved off, I have to get better organized.
Today was not a good MT day, I cracked and had pizza delivered for supper. I was busy cleaning out the bus and loading it with stuff for a trip. Pizza was not as good as I remembered it either.
We are going to Ca. tomorrow for business. DH's office stuff arrived yesterday. He will still be going to the US about once a month. I am going tomorrow too cause it will only be about 10 days. We want to drive down the Oregon coast which is very beautiful. It is a good time for me to go. My favourite priest was sent out to the country to minister for a month so I won't be missing any of his superb homilies.
I am finding some treasures in the used to be junk room that is being turned into DH's office. Stuff I had forgotten about totally.
How is everything going Ledom?
Hi Cher and Cheryl!
I will check in when we get to my DH's work in southern California next week.
Hey there, don't know why I haven't been posting as much lately. Just busy I guess. I have been kayaking twice this week in the early morning before it gets hot and have really been enjoying that. Well judi, I cracked yesterday and finally had that ice cream cone I had been craving. Just can't go a whole summer w/out one! Anyway, back to super strict today. I have been getting awfully hungry the last few days. I had cut back to 5 meals instead of 6 a day so today I am going for 6 clean meals and hopefully I can put that hungry demon back in the jar.
Have fun on your trip judi. I am getting antsy to go some place. I am even thinking of going someplace by myself. DD is driving me nuts, time for her to go back to school!
Just popped home to take a shower and do some laundry. DH is at the NASCAR races today meeting with some of his internet buddies. They met early this morning for breakfast, they all rode to the race track parking lot together so they could all park near one another, then after the race they'll have a big cookout. They did this last year and had a fantastic time.
ledom, glad you had the ice cream. It's better to give in to your cravings, then you won't be constantly thinking about them. Have you gotten rid of your hunger demons yet? Sometimes I to through periods where I'm hungry all the time, then it will go the other way where I'm not hungry and don't feel like eating.
judi, have a good time on your trip. It sounds lovely. I bet the Oregon coast is beautiful.
Hi Alice - so good to hear from you. Are you enjoying the lake still?
You are so right about the ice cream. Once I had it the craving was gone. Things have been going very well w/ the diet. I have lost 7 lbs. in the last month. The ice cream cone didn't seem to set me back at all. I have been adding a 6th meal on the days I am really hungry but have had quite a few 5 meal days as well. I am watching carbs more carefully and have been adding a bit of cardio. My workouts are going strong. In two weeks I plan on taking a week off from the weights and plan to have a few free meals, but within reason. I will be thinking maintenance during my rest week, not a free for all eating binge. Then I plan to start another go around of the BRx workouts and to continue eating as I am now. At the moment I am feeling hopeful. I am pretty pleased w/ the results of my BRx workouts, I am seeing a lot more muscle definition and my clothes are fitting better. I have been pulling some things out of the closet to wear that have been a bit on the tight side and can see how five more lbs. will have me in even better shape. That is my goal now - to lose 5 lbs. between now and the time school starts around Aug. 22.
Hope everyone else is doing well. It's awfully quiet around here these days.
Well, my trip is getting closer and closer. Almost time to start counting the HOURS!! I'm really getting nervous about the time from getting off of the train to getting to the hotel room! Ugh! Traveling in a strange city (larger than what I'm used to) with a 16-year-old. I have to pretend that I know what I'm doing and that I'm completely cool.....Breathe!
Judi--I hope you enjoy your trip into the states! Bet it'll be beautiful.
I am home for the day and overnight tonight. I have an early morning appt. tomorrow to have my car inspected, and it's easier if I just leave from home. A friend of my cousin has been up since Fri. so she has somebody with her and she won't be by herself. It's clouding over and threatening to rain, so they both will be out shopping contributing to the NH economy!
We are supposed to have very humid weather this next week with showers and some torrential downpours. They say it MIGHT clear out by Friday.
ledom, congratulations on your weight loss! 7 lbs is fantastic. I'm sure you will lose those 5 lbs. by the time you head back to work. When I come home from the lake I have to seriously start doing something. The SB diet didn't last very long. Phase 1 really screwed up my stomach for about a week, and thankfully everything is back to normal now.
Cheryl, hope the weather is good when you get to New England. I'm doing my sun dance for you! I also love traveling by train. Yes, please tell us all about the train ride and how you found New England. You will do fine with everything. Have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Interesting your comments on stomach trouble from your diet - I think you have to be so careful about that. I have begun to feel that my "attacks" of a couple weeks ago were directly related to the diet I was following. Too much protein is not good and in a web search on gall bladder attacks, over consumption of protein was listed as a cause. I am not saying that was the whole problem as I believe the lightly cooked fresh green beans were also a factor, but I will never eat like that again. I don't think it was good for me.
Anyway Alice, when your vacation is over you will find something good to do.
ledom, it was mostly due to acid reflux one morning after having eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast for the umpteenth time. After having the acid reflux I felt kind of sick to my stomach for about a week. It seems once I started having cereal, fruit, & milk again I started feeling better. We both have learned a lesson by our past eating experiences. I have come to believe that I can't do a very low carb eating plan, and that I do need a balanced diet. It's really nice being home for a day. I'm looking forward to coming home for good on Sat. I'm having a great time with my cousin, but I miss my daily routine.
We drove down the Oregon coast and as far as Mendocino in Calif. We stayed right on the ocean every night. It was so nice to drag the lawn chairs out of the RV and sit and have coffee in the morning looking at the waves.
We are inland in southern Ca. now. It is hot!
Good job on the weight loss Ledom!
I am with you Alice, even if I am having the best time, I miss my daily routine and am happy to get back to it.
Hi gals, I'm finally back from my gallavating to Michigan and Tennessee. Had a wonderful time visiting relatives in MI and then crashed at a cabin near Gatlinburg for a few days before heading home to FL. Humidity greeted us like a heavy blanket!
I tried my best to stay on LA and did pretty well--except for those Red Lobster biscuits to die for! Actually lost 1.5 lbs, when I usually gain 10 on vacation--so not complaining. Now it's back to working the program, swimming, and recumbant bike. Making myself peddle least 20 minutes every evening I sit before the boob tube.
Sounds like you're all having a busy summer too and losing weight and inches as well. Praying Cheryl has a safe and enjoyable trip to New England. Sounds like Judi's trip to the Oregon coast was wonderfully peaceful--picturing sitting on a lawn chair beside the ocean--beautiful. Ledom, I'm glad one of us is getting on the water--hope to kayak tomorrow and picnic if DH is able to pull himself away from the computer where he's addicted to working on his website. After reading about your ice cream treat, I'm headed for my freezer to enjoy a no fat/no sugar flavored yogurt I threw in there as a "token" ice cream. LA allows that one treat in place of a starch once a week. Uuuhm--I'm outa here . . .
Good to be back, and wish you all a great week coming. Cher
Had a wonderful time down to the lake with my cousin. The only down side was that it was too short. It seemed she had just gotten here then had to go home. But, she will be coming back the weekend before Labor Day to go with me to a craft fair in the town where I used to live. It is an annual event where they block off the main street in the town and people set up their tents just in front of the sidewalks and in parking lots.
judi, your trip down the Oregon coast sounds lovely. It must have been so peaceful watching the ocean while having coffee. We have a dock at the lake where I usually go out at first light and have my coffee. Usually I have a family of ducks swim buy for entertainment.
Cheryl, I hope you will have a great trip to New England. The weather should be nice for you.
Cher, nice to have you back. Congratulations on your weight loss.
