Moozie - I was so excited when I got my signature. Congratulations!
Melllyme123 - Good for you. It definitely gets easier. Stay with it. Saphhire - Love your new pic. Can't wait for spring. Hope you feel better soon. Pump the H2O. I feel GREAT today. I've had a couple of days of really healthy lower carb eating. I can tell weight is beginning to drop again. Getting my carbs only from fruits and vegis and some lowfat yogurt. Giving up pastas, breads and refined carbs for a little while. I feel sooo much better. Have a great day everyone! |
Thanks for the comments on the new pic, I've needed one but couldn't make up my mind until yesterday.
I've definitely upped my water intake. It's the one thing that has made me feel a little better these past few days. |

It takes 9 weeks to get to a 5K. I am so unfit it's untrue but if I can manage it anyone can! You should totally give it a go :D Well so much for my fast... my mum surpised me by taking me out for a late lunch but it was about 19 hours I think.. which is something! I just hope the scale starts going down again soon cos I can't wait to get out of the 140s but I seem stuck at 144-143 atm :halfempty: |
Hello
Hi everyone, I have been reading this forum for a few days now and everyone sounds so nice and very encouraging. I've never done this type of thing so here goes. I have started Fast 5 on Wednesday and am really learning a lot about the diet and myself. I am always anxious to read how you guys are doing and how even though you fall a few times you keep getting up and trying again. :coffee:

Stick with it, weigh in on monday! |
:dizzy:
:dizzy:Whoohoo! Thanx Gamesmaster..Its been suprisingly easy for me considering I tried ESE a few years ago and couldn't stick with it. The only thing is that I felt nauseous yesterday a few hours before breaking my fast. Have you felt that? What did you do?
Thanx Has anyone felt this? |
Welcome aboard Esmi!
This is the place to be. We're all just working it out together. IF is a great lifestyle choice. I only had a little nausea a couple of times when I first started. It went away completely. Focus on eating healthy, but enjoy your food. Gotta love IF! I'll be doing a 24 hour fast beginning tonight at 7 and ending tomorrow at 7. I've had a really good week. We'll see what the scale says. Had a stumble last weekend, but not too bad. I'm having people in for the Superbowl. I think I'm going to do a "make your own taco" spread. Loads of healthy things, with a bit of junk mixed in. I'll pass on the taco shells and make myself a huge salad with all the fixin's. The Monday weigh-in will help keep me in check. Hang in there everyone! |
Thanx Italiannie!
Good luck on your 24 fast. Your Superbowl food sounds yummy. I will be going to a friend's house so I'm thinking that Ill have my 5 hour window during the game. I'm a bit worried about this weekend and keeping up with the fast since my hubby usually likes to make a big breakfast then we eat all day.. but wish me luck. I know that I can manage it because I really want this and I'm enjoying it. |
Welcome to the thread, Esmi and good luck w/ Fast 5! I'm sure you'll do just fine.
Ooh, tacos! That sounds like so much fun, Italiannie. Thought I had a cold but it ended up being bronchitis. Thankfully the worst of it is over and I'm feeling much better. I plan on fasting Tuesday and Thursday next week. Hope you all have a great weekend, looking forward to the Monday weigh-in and GO GIANTS! |
Thanx sapphiregirl I'm staying optimistic :)..Glad your feeling better, Ilm just getting over an annoying cold myself, ugh..

Hi Esmi- yes I felt nauseous the first 2 weeks (I think) both when I ate and even when I didn't. Not all the time though. It seems to have passed- your body will get used to it and it will probably go away. Since you and your hubby love bkfast (I guess on weekends) could you have one day off a week for this? A splurge day? Otherwise maybe you could use those 5 hours for bkfast and a late lunch.
Italiannie- your blog is really inspiring!! Love it. Good luck on the lower carbs. I have read that that is an excellent way to melt the fat away faster while doing this program. Gamemaster1- Awesome work!! Wish I had the same great week as you did. Since you work out a lot- do you work out in a fasted state or not? Do you eat right after your workouts? I haven't quite figured this part out yet! Sapphiregirl- hope you feel better! Hi paintedbutterfly- Hope your week has been good. Moozie- thanks for the scheduling tip. That could be a great way to help with my many set-backs. It is best to plan it out and then stick with it! My week has been so, so. I have not stuck to what I have decided very well, seem to have more trouble with the eat stop eat than the fast-5. I think NOW I am going to try to get strict with fast-5 b/c my weight seems to not really be moving. I eat too much during my non-fasting time mainly b/c my appetite is really up- sometimes b/c of a heavy work-out the day before and sometimes I guess my body just wants more calories. I also have pretty horrible binges on Fridays! I did read the fast-5 free download and it says that the appetite will regulate after 1-3 weeks. Mine has not done this yet. I just need to be more strict and maybe I'll start getting results and maybe it will get easier. It doesn't get easy if I'm always caving in to cravings! Grrrrr. One other question: What the heck to you do about the bad breath that comes sometimes during your fasting period?? Sometimes I need to be talking to people then and even up close at work. Fast-5 says to avoid chewing gum in order to avoid any calories and getting hunger started just by chewing and swallowing. What is your take on this? |
mellyme123- glad your fasting has gone well! Keep up the good work.

[QUOTE=kelleyb;4202792] Gamemaster1- Awesome work!! Wish I had the same great week as you did. Since you work out a lot- do you work out in a fasted state or not? Do you eat right after your workouts? I haven't quite figured this part out yet! I lost most of my weight through a combo of eating 'clean' foods, cutting out sugar and some working out. I have had to cancel my gym membership as I have developed really bad varicous veins and am booked in for surgery in a couple of months. I think the weight lifting made the veins worse. So now I just walk the dog for exercise - so just some moderate dog walking 2/3 times per week for 1/2 hour. But I have quite a busy lifestlye running after the kids etc |
