Hi Everyone! I'm running like crazy today. I did weigh in, though.
No loss. I had a pretty good week on plan despite a short lapse of Valentine Cake. Sometimes when this happens, I'll lose a couple of pounds at once. Oh well, I can't control the scale, I can only control what I do. My clothes are getting looser all the time - good news!

I know if I keep doing what I'm doing, the weight will come off.
Last Week: 185.8
Today: 185.8
If I experience a loss during the week, you'll all hear about it!!!!!

Hope to hear how everyone else is doing.

Rosey - Hunger is an interesting thing. I agree with what you shared.
Moozie - You're rockin the place with your losses. Keep going!
Geo - Congrats on the 1.5!!!!

Let's all keep going!

@mizzthingaling I love your name! I have also noticed feeling fuller faster, a great side effect :)

Thanks :D
Congrats Moozie and Italianne on the weight loss.

I am on a regular eating day. How some V-day candy. I did lose a pound today though. Hopefully I will leave this decade by the end of the week. I was suppose to do some HIIT but was very tired after walking all day today. I will do a long walk tomorrow.

Hey girlies! Everyone is doing great, keep it up!

Today is pancake Tuesday! I'm in the process of making pancakes with the kids and had to break the fast earlier than usual!

As of lent (tomorrow) I will for 40 days not be eating breakfast and lunch! Any money I save will go into the 'human trafficking' charity! Also it is a personal thing I do every year!

During this time I will not be weighing myself so I will check in for a weigh in at Easter!

All the best with your goals peeps, and you can catch up with my progress on my blog!!!! xxxxx

Hey all! My apologies if I don't address everyone individually -- but I have been reading everyone's posts!

Rosey, I agree with you about the hunger issue. I find I am not nearly as hungry during a fasting time than I am when eating every few hours. So weird.

Italiannie -- I consider maintaining a success! After all, it's what you're going to have to do for life once you hit goal! It's still a bit of a letdown not to see a loss but I'm sure you'll see a loss during the week or a whooosh next week!

I'm doing well -- I am loving my version of Fast-5! Sometimes it's a bit rough but I love the delayed gratification of getting to enjoy a full meal that leaves me satisfied rather than still super hungry (like the measly 300 calorie mini-meals everyone tells you to adopt). I also enjoy eating in the evenings. Going to bed hungry is a real emotional trigger for me.

Hi! completing another IF today at 2pm PST. It was easy this time but I had to skip my evening sport because my son is sick and wanted me to stay with him.

Hello everyone! congratulations on the weight loss and or inches lost, i love how it feels to fit into smaller jeans, yay!!

So, I was out of town visiting family (who love to eat) and we ate, I didnt stick to my window Sat and Sunday so I knew the scale would reflect that. I weighed this morning and put on 2lbs, which I didnt get sad or mad about, suprisingly :) ..So here I am and feel hungryish but I thought I would be more hungry. Will do fast 5 window 2-7 again today and continue on my journey. Im not sure who said this but its a 2 steps forward 1 step back kind of journey and it is so true. I am seeing how I deal with food is improving and that makes me happy. I dont feel controlled by food as much..:carrot:
Happy weight loss to all

35X35 02-21-2012 03:44 PM

esmi134 -- sorry about the gain, but great about your attitude! It's also good to remember that I'm sure you didn't gain 2lbs of pure fat. Some was probably water/sodium etc. I love your attitude to just keep on keepin' on, pick up right where you left off, onward and upward (or onward and downward as I saw someone's siggie lol). To me, there's no point in guilting ourselves when we have minor setbacks.

I'm on hour 18 of a 19 hour fast and starting to plan dinner in my mind. I typically don't think too much about food until close to the time hubby gets home -- then dinner ideas abound lol. I love that I can eat a real dinner though and not worry about portions etc (within reason of course!).

I'm thinking some veggie-loaded fritattas tonight....

esmi134 02-21-2012 04:38 PM

thanx 35x35! Ur so right :) and way to go on ur fast! ..today I feel so much better than last week, less hungry and more motivated and in control and much happier. It will get easier :)

Mizzthingaling 02-21-2012 06:52 PM

Hi all. Esmi I agree with this helping with our attitude toward food. I will start my first 20 hour fast tonight and will go until 5 tomorrow. I am thinking of throwing in the 16/8 days when I finish with my shakes.

Rosey85 02-22-2012 02:13 AM

@esmi good on you for being in control and keeping a level headed perspective. I am sure after the next few days your weight will be back to normal, as 35x35 said, it is probably water and sodium's fault. Do men have to put up with water retention as much as us women?

@gamesmaster good luck on your 40 days of no breakfast lunch! Will that be like a 24 hour fast each day? You should really see some results from that!

@esmi great going on your 19hours!

@mizzthingaling good luck with your 20hr fast :)

Yesterday I did my 3rd 24 hour fast and went to the gym after work at around 22 hours fasted. I did 45 minutes total of running, brisk steep incline walking, rowing and press ups and ab work with medicine ball. I felt fine, no different from usual physically, but I did have the voice in my head telling me I should be feeling tired which made me cut things a bit shorter than usual. That's the next thing I need to work on, silencing my head :dizzy:
Today I am doing 19 hours so will eat at 3pm and then go to the gym at around 5pm for a 5k run before my body pump class.

I checked my body fat percentage the other day and it was 18.9% so I will check that every week to keep track as well as the scales. It looks like I have broken through my plateau though, as I have not been under 60kg for about a year! And 3 days ago I was 59.3kg! I was 61kg 3 weeks ago (2 weeks of healthy eating, 1 week of IF - it was last week's IF that broke through I think) Hopefully not just water which is why I wanted the body fat check to help me keep track.

Moozie 02-22-2012 06:56 AM

hi everyone,
just checking in, and reading all the posts. thanks to all of you for being so honest, its very comforting to know that we share so many hopes and fears together.
sounds like we are in a good place at the moment. I am very happy to be back on track after my first little blip, which in itself is a battle won.it means when my next blip happens ( and i know it will) I have already learnt that no harm was done and how easy it is to get back on track.

I completed another 24 hr fast yesterday at work and now have a day off, so am eating normally. have had my peanut butter on toast, one of my fav breakfasts. last night when i got home- about 10pm, the kids made me pancakes to break my fast...mmmm. simply delicious, just with fresh lemon juice and sugar.

this week I have continued doing a few days fast5 and so far 1 24hr. my aim is 3/4 x fast 5, 1/2 x 24 hr fast and 2 days normal eating each week. but as always there is no pressure or guilt if I do a bit less.

I had initially planned to only weigh every 2 weeks, but have decided that whilst i experiment with what works best, I will weigh weekly. combining the 2 feels more suited to my life and work pattern, but i want to make sure it is enough to sustain weight loss- I really hope so, as it feels so intuitively right.

Rosie, well done on your continued success. and respect for the workouts! do you have a special kind of weighing scale that tells you your body fat % ? mine just does weight. how does it know what is fat, muscle, water?

Italiannie, i love your eternal faith and optimism. you will see the weight loss soon, and as you said the clothes are looser, so somethings changing. on the occasions when i have followed a plan, i have always found i have weeks when nothing happens- despite being good and then I lose more than expected in one go- as long as its not going up, Im happy.

gamesmaster, good luck on your 40 days of no breakfast and lunch. I hope you will still be checking in with us, even if not to post. a great cause to be supporting too. I look forward to seeing how it goes.

35x35, well done for sticking at it. like you I love to be able to eat well in the evenings and to eat the same as the rest of my family. i used to hate having to cook for everyone else, only then not be able to enjoy it with them.

mizzthingaling-keep at it and well done with all the walking.

esmi, hang in there. you are doing so well and your attitude to the small weight gain is impressive. it will quickly come off and you;ll be losing in no time.

I am going to get out in the garden today to clear some beds ready for my veggies. its been so cold recently that i have been putting it off. luckily the snow seems to have come to an end now and i dont think we are forecast anymore this winter. My purple sprouting broccoli is starting to send out shoots, so am hoping to have a glut of it soon!! i planted it from seed last march and it feels like a lifetime to wait, but its sooo worth it. yum yum.

have a great day :)

Rosey85 02-22-2012 07:05 AM

@Moozie peanut butter is one of my fav things to eat too mmmm! I like your way of thinking about the blips, they will not knock us off track, blips are a part of life and make us appreciate when things are going well. Great work on the 24 hours!
I used the body fat scale at the gym (i don't have scales at home) it told me my height, weight, bmi and then you hold onto the hand grips at the side and it sends a painless current through your body and depending on the speed it went through, your gender and your age it calculates a percentage for you. The current travels at a different speed through fat/muscle i think....I have heard they can be a bit inaccurate though so I will be looking for a change over time rather than specific numbers as it could be up to 4% out! :O
I did order some calipers off ebay too so I will see if the reading they give is around what the machine said. Though they have their innaccuracies too.

Enjoy your day in the garden, it is pouring down here in Wales, hope the weather is better with you! :rain:

gamesmaster1 02-22-2012 07:14 AM

I have scales that measure my body fat. They were about £20 in Asda and the make is 'salter'.

They always worked great (i thought) until I had that massive pig out and I weighed myself the next day. According to the scales my body fat percentage had gone down to 9% from 16.5%! And my water percentage was really high! I know I probably retained some water, but I think the scales were getting a little confused (perhaps were being kind to me given my sad mood that I had pigged out)!!!

Although I have to say that provided you don't pig out the body fat indicator is quite a reliable one.......!!!!

Italiannie 02-22-2012 07:39 AM

I have never measured body fat. I know it has merit, but I never really understood how it works. I will do some thinking on that.

Had a great day on plan yesterday. I decided to add another 24 hour fast today, as I want to kick off this plateau and slight gain. I think once I get past this number, I will lose again. It seems to be one of my consistent "set points."

Thanks for the great posts, everyone. This is such a great thread.

Have a great IF day! I'll check in later (it will help me stay on track).

Rosey85 02-22-2012 08:09 AM

@gamesmaster I read somewhere that body fat scales can sometimes get confused between water and fat. We are thinking of buying some scales like that for the house (I turn into a nightmare weigher with scales is the only thing ha! Every time I go to the bathroom, why I have no idea!!)

@Italianie If you have access to one I think its useful to use alongside the scales. Then if I don't lose actual lbs perhaps I have lost fat and gained muscle. Good luck with the 24 hrs :)

I am on 19 hours today and can eat my lunch in 2 hours. I am hungry today too so I am really looking forward to it!
