WVU, today is my 3rd fast day also! I'm about 18 hours into it (not that I'm counting the minutes or anything . . .) and I don't anticipate any problems. I got kind of binge-y the last couple days, and I'm hoping it's more related to TOM than IF. I managed to binge mostly on salad with 0 cal/0 carb Walden Farms dressing and non-fat Greek yogurt. With the quantity of yogurt I ate, I had waaaay more carbs than I usually do, so I'm really hoping that I am more controlled when I come off this fast.
Has anyone else seen more lack of control on the non-fast days? I'm hoping it goes away as I get used to regular fast days each week. |

Italianne--> Thank you for the encouragement, you are so right. and everyday is different. Yesterday for instance, I ended up doing a 24 hour fast without planning on it because I am enjoying fast 5. Right before my window I decided to do 15 min of Zumba and after that I wasnt hungry so I wanted to see how long I could wait before I ate. I ended up waiting until 5:40pm and I felt so great and energetic before I ate. I danced and played with my baby :) mellyme--> i hope you have a great time on your vacation and are able to do great on your fasting :). kelleyb-->i guess overeating less times during the day is better than all day, which is what i used to do. |
I will also be going on vacation at the end of the month and I havent thought about how i will be eating but i hope my body gets used to eating less so i can feel in control. I have set a goal for myself to weigh 145 by the end of the month, im about 4 lb away, so lets see.
wvuchick--> good luck on your fast, you will do great. mdoc--> ive only been doing fast 5 for 9 days and it might be different that what you're doing but i did feel out of control a bit for superbowl sunday but i paid for it later as i felt a tightness in my stomach that was soo uncomfortable. this weekend is my babys bday so cake and food, im being positive about how i will handle it. I'm 16 hours in. Pretty easy so far. I hope I dont' screw up this hard work over the weekend. ;) I don't think I am having binging problems. My biggest problem is eating the right things, and not necessarily the quantity. I am trying to make better decisions, but I am a very picky eater. I am trying to change that too. One step at a time. I am going away at the end of February too for a mini-vacay. I'm going to Washington DC. Kind of a business and pleasure trip. Where is everyone going? Any where nice and warm? :cool: |

Note to self: do not break a 24 hr fast with a bottle of red! Intoxication station! Hopefully my belly will settle down very soon!! Oh you live and learn!

Ha ha gosh feel better now! Think I will take it easy over the weekend! My 24 hr fast went in so fast (pardon the pun), yes the trick is to keep busy!
I even did a 1 hour cardio stint fasted this morning, it has been a long time since I was at the gym so I actually enjoyed the cardio for a change! Going to the cinema tomorrow with my lovely husband and kids, so will be bringing some healthy snacks (hidden in my bag)! My feeding window I now refer to as 'my window of opportunity' and treat it like 'feeding time at the zoo' the amount of fruit I go through! Tonight I got through quite a bit of food - but I'm like that on Friday night - I do ten to look forward to 'a bit of a binge'. My husband eating unhealthy here besides me - wee monkey! Have a good w/end peeps, and I'll catch up on Monday for the weigh in! x |
Hi Everyone! Started my weekly 24 hour fast. Will finish up at 7pm on Sat. Hope to continue to hear how everyone is doing, I think it's so exciting that we're all working it out together.... so if you get busy over the weekend, make sure you check in early next week sometime. I'm planning to report a weigh-in on Monday.
Gamesmaster - I agree keeping busy is the way to go. Hey, do you ever watch a show called "Outnumbered?" I think it's the funniest thing I've ever seen. wvucihck - Just eat healthy and enjoy the weekend. You'll be fine. esmi - Have a little slice of cake and celebrate. Just don't Keep slicing away at the rest of it for the rest of the weekend. mdoc - How did you make out with your fast? Kellyb - Don't you love Fast-5? Mellyme - You are doing great. Italianne ---i agree w you..im gonna enjoy a little bit of cake and that's it...im surprised that I haven't been as hungry lately...today again I didn't eat until 5pm and I'm satisfied and done eating. Got busy doing stuff for the party to worry about eating right away..i am feeling good :),,,i hope we all continue to improve and enjoy IF

I finished my second fast for the week at 6:30 this evening. No headache today, no grumbly tummy AND I had enough energy so that I was willing to forego a perfect opportunity for a nap this afternoon when baby boy was ready to settle down for his own nap. THAT is unheard of cuz I love me some naptime! Enjoy your weekend! |
It's good to hear about some of you having more energy! I sure do too! I got hungry yesterday afternoon, but I just drank my Dr. Pepper 10 and the hunger pains went away. I had mexican food last night and it was so worth waiting for :)
I feel like I'm losing inches. I'm not sure about weight. I'm gonna wait until Monday to weigh. I feel like this is something I can do for life. I never felt that way with counting carbs or calories. I would say that was a WOE for life for me, but realistically I couldn't stick to it as it was too restrictive. This way, I eat whatever I want, I just eat it once a day. I am trying to have some veggies and fruits too though, but I'm not holding back from foods I love either. If I go to lunch with friends, then I'll just have my meal then. I'm not setting a certain window time, I'm not eating once a day, but a big meal. I think eating all day makes me hungrier and I tend to overeat. Do any of you feel this way? |
Well my 24 hour fast turned into 25 1/2, spent 3 hours cleaning house and wasn't nearly as worn out afterwards.
Violet I am the same way when I don't have one big meal I will eat all day. I like to eat enough to be full then nothing else. I love ESE! Have a great rest of the weekend. Hope your somewhere warm and not cold and snowy like I am :) |
