I am a Calorie Counter and out of the other diets I have tried, like it the best. I can have the occasional treat (as long as I count it!) and it is very flexible. You can find out how many calories to eat at http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

and track your calories at
www.fatsecret.com
or
www.fitday.com
or
www.sparkpeople.com

Best wishes!!

Out of the ones listed, I'd pick Jenny Craig for simplicity. However, I prefer Fat Smash, South Beach and Calorie Counting.

I don't think there is a "best" diet plan. You have to choose the one that will work for YOU. everyone is different so choose something you know you'll be able to stick to. If you want something that gives you the food you need to eat - I would choose Jenny Craig. I did Jenny and lost 50 pounds! I loved it because like you said, they give you the food you need to eat. Also, you're held responsible because you go and weigh in once a week. If you don't do what you're suppose to do and it shows on the scale, someone else sees it instead of just you. also, the counselors really know what theyre talking about regarding weight loss. Most Jenny craig counselors have lost significant amounts of weight them selves and if you're stuck in a rut, they have really helpful steps for you to take to keep pushing through. It really worked for me!. I swear by Jenny. Stop by the jenny craig thread!

I agree with xpinkglowx2. There are hundreds of ways and systems that work to lose weight.

The ones that I hear of that most people succeed on are Beachbody workouts/diet plan and Weight Watchers.

With Beachbody you pick an exercise program that is to your liking as well as the diet.

Weight Watchers is basically calorie counting.

I have tried them all and been relatively successful at each...for a short period of time. This is the first time I have tried counting calories and I am amazed! Looking back, it has become clear that I was never eating enough calories and was really limiting myself specific foods or food groups. I believe that when you deny yourself of anything, you eventually blow it.

WW was goo, but to regimented. Not into the meetings, and finding points values is a pain.

LA Weight loss was great. Did it before my wedding and got down to 160, but very expensive and also somewhat limiting.

Jenny Craig, yuck.

Nutrisystem. IMPOSSIBLE!! I have a husband and a 5 year old to feed. I was preparing 3 seperate meals for each meal of the day and I hated the food and it was a small fortune.

I think if you can pinpoint the number of calories needed, it is obvious. I am currently doing 1400-1600 a day.

I'm calorie counting now. I'm kind of nervous. As I said - I did jenny and loved it. some of the food was terrible - yes. but a lot of it was really good. I actually miss most of it! However, money is tight and I can't afford to go back on jenny, so I'm just going to start counting and working out 5 days a week. I was going to wait until I had some money saved to go back on jenny, but I weighed myself this morning and realized, it's now or never. Does anyone who is counting have any relatively simple low calorie recipes they could share?

I think Primal Blueprint is pretty darn close to being the best.

I am a calorie counter and firnd it works best for me. And believe me I have tried them all. Calorie Counting is also much cheaper than the plans such as Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem.
