Angry ledom,

I think we did post around the same time this morning. I was surprised to see your post when mine came up, and you answered my question on how you were feeling. I am glad you are feeling better.
I sent you a pm re: my e mail address.

Default Good morning!

Hi! It is 2am here and I can't sleep. Oh well, I can always tidy up the place.

How is your cold Ledom? Did you have a good time at the photography exhibit you went to see?

Alice, it must be a boxer thing, Bentley has to wear a harness too and won't be lead around by something on his neck. IF anyone is going to be in control it is "THEM" they think!

Yesterday I had big plans to go for a long hike in the bird sanctuary on the delta but alas I never got out of the mall. I went to the Chanel counter in the Bay and had the cosmetician there do my makeup. It was fun and it took about 45 minutes. The eyes looked great. So There I was with a full face of "I am going to the Oscars" type makeup and a Taos t-shirt and hiking boots ontromping around in the mall.

I went to see my doctor yesterday and the first thing he did was tell me how much he liked my hair and then how he told me how good my blood pressure was. I am going to take Xenical again, eh, why not...it is there.

I have been packing along fruits and a yogurt everytime I leave the house so it has averted some mall food disasters. Usually I am full so if I have to have something it can be a salad.

Hey, Shebacat if you are out there...check in!

No other news girls, enjoy friday!

Red face Good morning,

Had a rather late night and I am groggy this am. I'm afraid it's going to take more than 1 cup of coffee for my brain to function right. Late yesterday afternoon we drove down to Boston, which is around a 2 hr. drive for us to a book signing at the hotel at the airport. The daughter of a very dear friend of mine wrote a true crime story, and now she is on a whirlwind book tour which started in NYC earlier in the week. I couldn't be more proud of her than if she was my own.

ledom~Thank you for sending the photos. I had no problem downloading them. They are fantastic! I absolutely love the color of your kayak. Looking at all your photos on the wall and all the people there, I honestly wish I lived closer to attend. Was that a picture of the university where you work? There are some very interesting sculptures on the grounds, which I liked very much. Those were very nice photos of you and your mother. It's nice to see a face behind the name.

judi~I would have loved to have seen you with your new do, in full makeup with a T-shirt & hiking boots. You were just making a fashion statement. Having your Dr. comment on your new hairdo must have made your day! Is it easier to lose weight when you are on Xenical? Is it something you have to stay on even after you lose the weight?

I have to go get another cup of coffee. Take care and have a great day.

Default Hey there

glamour girl. I'd love to see your new look - sounds as if it is the pick-me up you were after!

I'm feeling pretty good, I'm new to the world of allergies so it seems strange. Kind of have the symtoms of a cold, tight chest, sneezey, but at the same time I feel ok. Just waiting for all the pollen to clear up and frankly I think that it will get worse before it gets better.

Our trip to L.R. was good. I think everyone enjoyed it.

Well, it is Friday - yippee!!! There is only about 1 month of school left, we are out on the 11th of May and D graduates on the 20th. I am on auto-pilot with the rest of the school year. Not too much left to introduce to my students, they just need to get their work done. I need to keep things graded. There are no more shows to hang or get ready for.

Alice, how is your walking going, sounds as if you have gotten yourself into a good routine. Have a goo Friday everyone.

Default Alice,

Our bio-rhythms are in sync! Another duel post! thanks for your comments on the photos. I was pleased with them, I thought they captured what a truly fun day it was.

That is great about your friends daughter. And so sweet of you to drive to her book opening. I know it meant alot to her. What a wonderful thing, to have the ability to write stories.

Default HEYYYY!

Where are my photos???? I want some too!

Alice you went to Boston? That is cool, I love that city. We were there twice, once we went to a big Microsoft party that was held at the US Constitution dock. It was after a conferance, while the DH was away at seminars I walked around all day..boy, that is the "walkingest" city.

Glad you had a good time Ledom? What did you think of the photos? Only a month of school, so nice! You will be a free woman!! That is great!

Alice, what is the name of your friend's daughter's book? I will keep an eye out for it.

Today is another day of amazing weather. The cherry trees are in blossom in Vancouver (we have quite a few) and it so nice. Not on the island yet though our flowers don't bloom until about a month later, it must be cold air from the ocean.

Xenical just gets rid of some of the fat in one's diet, I think it is about a third. So if you are already low fat you have even less fat. Some people take 3 a day but I take 1 after the meal with the highest fat content. I have a perscription for it so I am going to take it. I didn't notice it helping me much before but I think it was because I was already eating lowfat or it could be I didn't stay on it long enough. The down side for me with it is that our medical plan won't pay for it and it costs about a $100.00 a month. I would rather spend the money on something else...like streaks or American groceries.

I listened to President Bush's speech yesterday. I was so impressed by him. You guys get all the great leaders... ours are so ...well, er, dull....ahem, CSIS don't be reading this post (CSIS is the Canadian spy agency...yeah, we have spys too... we aren't THAT boring )

Talking Happy Weekend everyone!

It's awfully chilly outside this morning. But, DH & I will be bundling up and going for our walk a bit later. I am meeting one of my cousins for lunch this afternoon. DH will have to fend for himself

ledom~Yes, we have been posting just about the same time these past couple of days. I am glad that you enjoyed the outing with your students. It sounds like you will be "cruising" until May 11th. Enjoy your stress free time!

judi~The book my friend's daughter wrote is, "Mob Over Miami". From what I have been told, copies are hard to come by. I don't know if they did not print very many copies or what the reason. I have read it, and it's very good. Usually true crime stories are not my cup of tea. If you are able to find a copy I hope you enjoy it. Ya...well...Pres. Bush is ok, but he was not my choice for president. I will give him this though, I had a higher opinion of him after Sept. 11th.

Take care and have a great weekend!

Default the weekend...

Alice, are you going out with the cousin that sometimes stays with you? Have a great afternoon. It is nice to have a girls time out. I don't have anywhere as many as I did when I was younger and I miss them.

Ledom, thank you! I got your pictures of the show (I sent an email to you at work), it was so cool it was "almost" like being there.

We are in for a week of rain the weatherman is predicting...that is is ok, I will treadmill. The new music is helping. I got beginner and intermediate walking tapes...the beginner is 2.5 mi. per hour. I am there.

Hey, I will try to get the book from Amazon.com. Alice.

I made a lasagna and then drank 2/3 of a bottle of wine and went to bed and it sat out for about 6 hours in the kitchen. My question is do you think it is still good? It has a lot of mushrooms in it? I cut it into small squares for Marley and put in the fridge but I would like to know for next time, I hate to make a lasagna and then only the dog gets to eat it. What do you think, do you think it was STILL ok??? Having had food poisoning once (NOT my cooking) I am leary...

Default Hey there,

judi, I would eat the lasagne. 6 hours doesn't seem that long to me. BUT, that is just what I would do. I probably have a cast iron stomach, but if the house is kind of cool I sometimes leave food out.

Hope you all are having a good weekend. I have spent mine in bed - trying to knock this cold/allergy whatever the @#** it is. But now I am up and will be going with D to look for a prom dress. One of those rites of passage that I look forward to. D is much more excited about getting READY for the prom than actually going to the prom. I think she will have fun though. I am glad I get to be a part of the getting ready part.

judi, thanks for your note. The photos are small - they vary in sizes around the 5 X 7 size though none are exactly that. Most are smaller, some are larger. There are 19 in 16" sq. frames and 9 in 19" sq. frames. I printed small because they just seemed to work better small. Since I am shooting from my boat for the most part I am never absolutely still. When I printed larger I thought they started falling apart. They are very intimate images. I have had such tremendous feedback about the show. It is my mature work I think, and it just happened. I am pleased with how this whole experience has turned out.

Have fun on your day out Alice.

Default Sat. evening

Alice, I hope you are out and about and having fun!

Ledom, thanks for the info on the photography and the lasagna. Photographs of 5 by 7 because they are intimate images is good. I never thought of that...but that is a good point. It also forces the viewer to observe closely and serves to draw them in more. I think I have been trapped into the "bigger is best" syndrome when printing. Though I know that gives the added challenge of not making a picture look soft. I am going to look at my negatives with a new eye. IThe framing looked great too. After the show is over where are you going to put them? Are you leaving them framed? How great to have a big body of work like that on a specific theme. I bet the success of the show served to inspire you further for something new. You should have a wonderful feeling of accomplishment.

Hmmm, maybe the lasagna was ok because Marley is certainly enjoying it.

Angry Hello,

I hope that you both are enjoying your weekend. Yesterday's lunch went very well. Judi, this cousin I had lunch with is not the one I travel with or spend her vacation with. This cousin and I are practically strangers and are getting to know one another.

I bought some new popcorn yesterday, "Kettle Corn" from Orville's. I absolutely loved it and almost ate the whole bag myself. It's sweet and buttery. DH doesn't care for the taste, so there is more for me! Since I like it so much it will only be a once in awhile treat.

ledom~The 5x7 photos are a nice size for the frames you used. Did you do all black & white, or were there colored ones too? I think the black & white photos really make a statement. The only time I like to view photos in color is when it's fall and there is quite a bit of color around, especially on the lake when it's smooth and you get a mirror image.

judi~Glad that the lasagna wasn't bad. I tend to get leery when food is left out on the counter for awhile. I imagine Marley is very happy you left it out...what a treat! That is so nice of you to want to read my GF's D's book. Thank you.

Take care.

Default Goodmorning!

Alice, Hmmmmm, I was wondering what that popcorn tasted like. Maybe I will give it a try too, I mean in the interest of science and all

Yesterday I took Marley for his yearly check up. He has to have a tooth out. They give them an anesthetic (sp) and Mr. Marley has never had one so I am apprehensive. I guess I will have done next month when we come back from Ca.

I have been taking the Xenical but haven't been on the scale yet hope I will see some improvement.

Morning Ledom and Shebacat!

Default Good evening,

I have spent most of the weekend sleeping. My throat is still really sore but I feel rested.

Let me to tell you about prom dress shopping. We were unbelievably lucky! she found the perfect dress - the 3rd one she tried on in this discount store called 1/2 of 1/2. It was, your not going to believe this, $15. It is a $150 dress, maybe from last season, I don't know but it is perfect for her. We went on to buy shoes, underwear, jewelry, in under 3 hrs. Everything was easy, I told her she must have set up some good karma for herself. Her underwear costed more than the dress! Anyway, that is taken care of.

I made my vegetable paprikash this afternoon. I am going to try to get up and exercise in the morning. I am ready to try dieting and exercising again. I know I have lost ground during the last month. I'm not quite brave enough to weigh but I plan to sometime soon.

Default the dress

What a wonderful find! Your D must be so excited.

You have had a lot happening in your life so it is hard to be only diet focused. I don't have nearly so much and still find the minute by minute trying to do the right thing really a big weight (no pun intended). It will be so much better when you are on your summer break.

Hey, spring is really here...so nice. I spent yesterday getting the RV in ship shape for the next trip in 2 weeks. I am looking forward to it.

Hi Alice, did you have a good Sunday?

Angry A good Monday morning to you both!

ledom~That's great you D found her prom dress so quickly and what a price! Finding bargains like that really makes your day. I'm sure your D is thrilled. I'm sorry you have a sore throat, they really are not very fun. I hope that it is starting to feel better. Now that the school year is winding down and your show is over you will not feel so stressed and will be able to concentrate on dieting.

judi~Poor Marley having to have a tooth out. The one thing I have always disliked about them having to be anesthesized (sp?)
is they cannot have food or water after a certain time the night before, nor when they come home. Our dogs were ok, but when we had kitties they cried and cried. It broke my heart to hear them!

It's a dreary day here, threat of showers. But....I saw my first ROBINS of the season. Spring is here!!!! The birds know it's spring....now if the weather would realize it was spring we'd be all set

Hi Shebacat!
Enjoy your Mon. everyone.
