Default Hi Alice!

I pretty much have decided on the layers and perm. I color it myself, I use Feria's "expresso".

Are you doing something for Easter? It is going to be quiet here. My D is doing papers for the end of the term so they can't come over. Next fall she will do her 3rd year (BA) at my old alma mater UBC, which is kinda cool, I think.

I am trying to eat at the low end of my points AND get everything in that is recommended, I am going to pay more attention to the PMD and not just the points. I am going to focus on making my points healthy.

Couldn't sleep last night so I got up at three in the morning and did all my ironing and made bread. Whole wheat bread which I don't like as much as white, but it IS healthier.

It is nice having a long weekend, isn't it?

Have a great time Ledom!

Angry Hi judi!

I hope that you have a very Happy Easter. We have been invited to some friends for Easter dinner. Will you and your DH be doing anything special even if your D will not be able to come home?

That is cool your daughter going to your alma matar.

That's great you have become motivated about your points. Please send some of that motivation my way. I desperately need it.

You really were ambitious at 3:00 in the morning. Ironing is just about my least favorite chores to do. Thankfully I don't have much to do.

Please let me know how your layers & perm turn out. It will look fabulous.

Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Default Happy Easter!

Goodmorning Alice!

Did the Easter bunny find your place? He hasn't been around here, I would have to kick his #$% because things have been hard enough PMD wise for me ever since I got back.

Food wise it is OK but I can't seem to get going with the exercise. I have all that new treadmill music too. I know there is no excuse.

Ledom, I put the postcard of your photo up on my fridge. It is so

How are you doing Shebacat? Hope to hear from you soon

Today is my DH's birthday. He is 54. First time I can remember that Easter fell on his birthday.

Alice, I made an appt. on Wed. for my hair...keep your fingers crossed for me, truth is I am a bit apprehensive.

Wink No Easter Bunny here either!

I would've kicked his rear so hard that his cotton tail would be crooked Some flowers would have been nice though.

We are going to our friends' house later this afternoon and am in the process of baking a pie (not from scratch) to bring for dessert. It will be left at their house.

Happy birthday to your DH I will be 54 this year also.

With me it's just the opposite. I have the exercise thing ok, but food wise I can't seem to get going.

Happy Easter Shebacat...I hope it's a wonderful day for you.

Take care.

Default Alice and Judi,

You girls crack me up. Beating up on the Easter Bunny - now that isn't nice!

Our trip to Nashville was fun. I sure wasn't ready to go back to school today, but all and all it wasn't a bad day either.

The reception for my exhibit is tomorrow! Can you believe it, I thought it'd never come and now it is here. I did finishing touches on the gallery this afternoon and it looks good. I love it that you have my card out Judi, think of me tomorrow afternoon, about noon your time. In Nashville I got to see a GREAT exhibit of photographs from the Contemporary Museum of Photography.

Hey, guess what. Daylight savings time starts this coming weekend. I hope I am remembering correctly that I have less hard time adjusting to this change than the one in the fall. D and I are planning to hike in the afternoons when the days get longer. Maybe that will help me get back in gear with exercise. This weekend I just gave up, I think we did an eating tour of Nashville, all 4 of us ladies were really into that and we had some nice meals. It was the kind of eating weekend that you can honestly say you are ready to get back with the diet when it is over with. D and I both were ready for it this a.m. I did pretty good today. And, we both walked this afternoon. After my show opens tomorrow, I think some of the stress I have been feeling will be lifted and I hope that makes dieting easier too.

Good to hear from you guys, judi you inspire me to keep track of food and alice you inspire me to get with my exercise.

Default Welcome back Ledom!

Hi Alice and Ledom!

I am glad you had a good time Ledom in Nashville. Don't worry about the "eating tour" you weren't touring long enough to do serious damage and you will kayak it off. I am jealous of the people who will get to see your show tomorrow. That is so COOL!

Alice, today I got a kiss from Bentley the Boston that made me see stars......I was bending dow to kiss him, he was jumping up to kiss me, he stuck his tongue in my mouth and smashed into my lips so HARD with his little mush that I thought my teeth would fall out You have to be tough for Boston terrier lovin !

I have been avoiding the breads lately. I think I am getting used to it. For supper I have been making a huge udon soup. I make a broth and put in lots of veg. like carrot, zuchinni strips, sliced mushrooms and bok choy then the noodles. I also give it a dash of chili oil. It is really good even the DH loves it and requested some of it for lunch tomorrow. It is satsifying and I am determined to get my veg and fruit amounts in every day not just 3 out of 7. The udon isn't deep fried like ramen and it is fat and filling. I usually use a Chinese soup base that is sold in a bottle, it just has "soup base" on it, we are lucky we have so many good Chinese grocery places here on the west coast. I ws getting tired of the 0 point WW soup, though it is good too. Need a change...right?

I bought a new outfit to exercise in...it is supposed to inspire me.

Smile Welcome back ledom!

ledom~It's great to have you back. Don't worry about the "eating tour" of Nashville. I'm sure you didn't do any damage with all the exercising you have done. I'm glad that you enjoyed yourselves. I also want to wish you GOOD LUCK with your show this afternoon. I know it will be a smash! I will be thinking about you this afternoon.

judi~You have to be careful with Boston Terriors (Terrors)...they are fast I hope you weren't hurt too bad. I was playing with Miz Lacee on the floor and she scratched me on my face. It didn't break the skin, but I have a red mark underneath my top layer of skin. It is slowly fading. Does Bentley like to chase feet? Lacee does and we just can't break her of the habit. We yell, "NO" but that get's her going even more We are hoping she grows out of it. I want to wish you good luck at the hairdressers tomorrow. I'm sure your hair will come out looking fabulous!

Hi Shebacat!

It's a beautiful day today so I shall do my walk outside later this morning. Take care and enjoy the day.

Default Hi ladies!

Alice, Bentley doesn't chase feet but he is such a jumper and a real cuddler, my D can't read a book or work on the computer but that he wants to sit between her and whatever she is doing.

How is the show Ledom?

I treadmilled Now just to stick with it each day...the new sports music helped.

Thanks for the good wishes for the hairdressers Alice, I am quite looking forward to go now.

Default Hi there,

Girls, my show turned out so well. It was everything I could have wanted. Thanks for thinking of me today. Many of my friends came, several taking the afternoon off work so that they could, and lots of students and faculty and staff came as well. It meant so much to me. I was very pleased with how it looked, how people responded, it was just a very good experience. One of my friends documented the opening with her digital camera. As soon as I figure out how to load the images onto my computer and how to get them to you I will share them with you.

Now, it is past bedtime and I am still too wound up to go to sleep. I guess I will calm down eventually. Time to get back to normal now, I can't use it as an excuse for being too stressed to take care of business.

Judi, that is great that you did your treadmill today, the first day back is always the hardest.

Tomorrow I am driving a school van of students to Little Rock for a field trip so I better get some rest. Talk to you all soon.

Shebacat, are you keeping busy with work these days? Miss hearing from you.

ledom~I am sooo happy for you that your show was such a huge success and your friends coming to support you You have wonderful friends. How did your field trip go? How many students went?

judi~How is the new "do?" That's wonderful that you treadmilled yesterday. Keep up the good work!

I walked yesterday morning and plan on doing so again this morning even though it is raw with a threat of rain. I'll just dress warm and take along the umbrella.

Take care and enjoy the day.

Default Thanks Alice,

and yes, I do have the est freinds in the world I think.

Way to go Alice, walking in the rain can even be a FABULOUS experience. Wish I could lend you my OR rain hat!

I'm anxious to hear about your new hairdo too judi. What a pick-me up it will be. I have been toying with a new summer cut but haven't decided if I should take the plunge or not.

Yesterday was a pinnacle day in my life, today I am a wreck. Cramps, a chest cold, lack of sleep! But carry on I must, 3 teachers and about 20 students are going on this trip (we're taking two vans-I hope we all fit). Anyway, we are going to see Eugene Atget/Bereneice Abbot photographs and a printmaking show. I know I'll enjoy it, just that I'm taking the advil along for support.

Default big head...

Well, I think I have finally laid the "old hippie" look of mine in the grave forever. My hair is short but it is big!!! I love it It turned out that I didn't need a perm because I have lots of natural curl and when it was layered the curls just sprang into place SOOOO I got STREAKS! I had colored it a chestnutty color and had copper streaks put in. I also got rid of my center part and have sort of a poofy thing that goes over from one side. It is just a bit below my chin and I can still put it up (barely). The diff was pretty dramatic and the DH who hates me to change anything about myself (well, except my demanding personality ) liked it and took me out for drinks and dinner last night to celebrate the new look. But it won't be the "old wash and go" hairdo I had, this one involves setting mud, serum, spray and a diffuser. I found the hairdo in a hairdo magazine and just took the picture to the stylist (who was a very chic Iranian woman from Berlin) and she new how to copy EXACTLY. Boy, I was impressed...having gone through my youth with long hair and never visiting hairdressers.

Ledom, I am sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather. That is terrible. But I am glad to hear you had a wonderful time at your show. It must have been so exciting! What a great day, eh?

Alice, you are so inspirational, walking in the rain...sheesh, you should have been curled up on your couch drinking wine and eating cheese Does the "Miss" go out with you on the rainy days?

Have a good day...I can't believe the week is going by so fast!

Angry Good morning......

ledom~I hope that you are feeling better and you had fun on your trip with the students. It's not fun not feeling well on a trip like that.

judi~I am glad you like your new "do". It sounds very lovely. I bet you look 10 yrs. younger! Your DH taking you out on the town was a very nice thing to do. "Miss" does not go with me on walks. She is HORRIBLE on a leash. I just don't know how to train her I guess, she just doesn't listen when I yell, "NO" whenever she pulls on the leash, if I tighten the leash so that she is very close to me, she's walking on her hind legs trying to pull. She always wears a harness when we walk by the way. I am hoping she'll get better as she gets older. Once the weather warms up and our dirt road dries out I will start taking her on short walks up our street. At least my jiggly arms may get toned

It's a lot nicer day than yesterday...the sun is out! It has gotten chillier with the wind. I will dress warmly on my walk. Yesterday it was drizzling and raw so the sun will feel good today!

Take care and enjoy your day!

Default judi

Congratulations on your new 'do. Well, one thing about your new hair routine - it is short and that is bound to cut some time from styling long hair, or drying time or something. During the olympics one of the news casters was talking about how hip you Canadians are in your style of virtually everything! Had to laugh about the old hippie style hair, our youth was so good wasn't it? My students now, dress the way we did 25 years ago. Sometimes I am confused about how I should look and dress.

I am feeling better today. I think rather than a chest cold I am being affected by all the pollen that is suddenly in the air. Spring is popping out all over the place now. I noticed azaeleas in bloom yesterday and the redbuds and dogwoods are blooming at the same time this year which doesn't happen every year, some quirk in weather patterns causes that to happen every 10 years or so.

I will be home most of the day and I am so pleased about that. I just have so much to do, but being in a quiet place is the most important right now.

Both you girls are doing so good. Your udon soup sounds good judi, I was thinking about the vegetable paprikish recipe from you and thinking it might be time to make that again. D has gotten on a fruit smoothee kick this week which has gotten me to thinking about yummy ways to eat fruit. We don't get papayas at a reasonable price here very often, but this a.m. when I went for milk there were 4 boxes on display at the neighborhood grocery and I picked one up. I also have some mangos so I have some interesting fruit to eat.

Ya'll have a good day.
