Until recently I had two Boxers-- Rocky and Leah--

and one mixed breed named Starr-- we named her starr because she has beautiful blue eyes--

Unfortuately I lost my Rocky to cancer in May-- he was the most special dog and I miss him a ton--

BJ -- your Rocky looks soooo much like my Champ it is right down creepy. Gosh, even the way his ears are done, it is amazing. I wish I had a good a good picture of him but he won't pose pretty for me. Cancer is a problem in boxers, I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

In addition to Champ (Champion Tyron when he is in trouble) we have CJ Parker (black pug) Peanut Porter (tan pug) Ivory Jean (chow cross) Tierra (my cat) and Precious & Sunshine (cockatiels).

They help fill up my empty nest.

Okay, I've loved reading everyone's stories so here's mine. When I married my husband (2nd for me, 3rd for him) he told me if he ever had another son, he wanted to name him Santana (after the musician). Well, since I can no longer have kids (medical problems), we bought a Miniature Pinscher and since he was male, and was the son I could never have....his name is Santana. Oh yea, we have a cat named Foo-Foo who originally started life as Yoda (when she pulls her ears back she has the look of Yoda on Star Wars), but she never answered to it. When my husband and I hooked up he started calling her Foo-Foo and she comes running. Go figure!!

Well I thought I might catch you up.
Dixie has been with us a month! She is cute and funny and a pleasure to have (other than the night time potty trips!)

My daughters dog is a pug and she named him Busta. When she was younger she liked this group called NSync and Chris one of the singers who was her favorite had a pug by that name.

Aww, Dixie is adorable. She looks like she is Ms Personality. Don't worry, the night time potty trips shouldn't last too long.

My dog's real name is Dakota. He also has lots of nicknames. The one we use the most is probably Popper. My husband calls him everything under the sun and that one just stuck for some reason. Anyway he's my best friend in the world, I love him to pieces. I attached a picture of us on a camping trip in the desert.
I also have four guinea pigs. The boys are Reeses and Oreo and the girls are Snickerdoodle and Jubilee (as in cherries jubilee). They are all colored like you'd imagine from their names.

Dixie is adorable! I just love puppies and kittens (and babies too!). You'll just love her, labs are such great easy-going dogs. Do you have any other pets?

No dogs in my house currently, but we have nine cats. The avatar I'm currently using is my cat Henley, named after Don Henley. We usually name our pets after things we like such as singers, songs, sports figures, movies (we've got a cat named Blair after "The Blair Witch Project"). My favorite of all our cats' names is Echo. She's named after a Pink Floyd song "Echoes". The ironic thing about the name is she's an odd-eyed white cat and is completely deaf. And since she's deaf and can't hear herself meow, she meows VERY loudly. She truly does "echo".

Let's see: There's been Doofus (a great dane. She used to trip on her ears and roll across the floor when she was a pup, but eventually she grew into the ears.) Rex (a mutt) Dutchess (golden retriever) yowler, yoda, big poppa, ginger, and spice (golden retriever and boxer mixes) and we have Wooley Booger Bear (boogie for short) right now. He's a chow, kieshound (sp?) mix. He's very big and more than very hairy (hence the name).

His name is Dobie...'cause he's a Red...well, take a guess. We weren't so original - my excuse is that he was supposed to be temporary. The story DH used to get me to take him was that his owners were just out of town for a couple weeks. That was 8 years ago. If they come back now? Tough tooties!
He is the world's most enthusiastic walker...and my best bud in all the world...'cept maybe DH....well...it's a tie...I should also mention that the enthusiasm doesn't last forever...I'm adding an after walk photo as proof.
