I agree that JD was great this week. He *should* be the top vote-getter for his performance. I missed Suzie (I can't seem to catch the first performance of the night - EVER!), and Marty was OK. He did that screaming thing that INXS is not impressed with. I didn't think MiG did Paint it Black justice, although he sounded fine on Kiss from a Rose. He is starting to remind me of Donnie Osmond. And the band's initial comment - what did you think of the songs we gave you this week? - is the kind of thing they usually say to someone they felt did a less than spectacular performance. But then they followed it up with the comment that while they'd like to hear him sing INXS, they don't think he'll be in the bottom three. Whatever!
I still really like Marty, but he is probably too alterna-rock for INXS. I think JD should be their new singer. Is the finale next Tuesday or Wednesday?

I was thinking Mig was the guy, I don't think JD because he is just too Vegas and loses the audience. I think that Suzie has made the most consistent improvement and possibiklity and wouldn't be surprised in INXS decided to go in a completley different direction, choosing Suzie or my friend and I think they should choose Suzie and Marty to share the job.....really out of the box though.

I think Marty is the most talented performer but I don't think that INXS wants to be his backup band.....

I love Mig, but his last three performances haven't been as good, while Suzie Marty and unfortunatley JD --who I cannot stand have been getting better. I think it is going to boil down to whatever direction INXS wants to go....they are all incredibly good at this level....

So who was surprised at last night's outcome? I was a bit- I have to admit that I was disappointed that JD was in the bottom 3. I just feel that he has a better voice, more stage prescence and his performances have been more consistent than Marty's. I think he is also a better song writer and a better speaker as far as interviews go.
I could totally see INXS doing Pretty Vegas. I didn't like his personality when the show started but did think that he had a lot of potential.

I also find that Marty has to strain his voice to hit the notes half the time and then his voice cracks. And I had to sit through that stupid Trees song again Although the music is catchy, I find the lyrics very adolescent sounding -like bad teenage poetry. And although he has gotten better he still doesn't look that comfortable on stage.

I was not surprised that Mig was in the bottom three though. In fact I am surprised he made it to the top four. I really liked him when the show first started but I find that his stage antics are very repetitive, his voice doesn't lend well to edgier songs and his performances over the last few weeks have been bland. Sorry, but his cover or What You Need last night was boring (vocally) though he did put a lot of energy into stage antics.

I was really sad to see Suzie go last night but expected it. I just couldn't picture INXS with a female singer...I think she will get signed though as she has a great voice (when she is not doing the Cher thing ) and has a great stage presence.

I am hoping that INXS picks JD. Regardless of his attitude issues (which seem to have improved lately) I feel he is probably the best fit for INXS' type of music and would also appeal to a broader fan base if the band is going forward into a new era.

I was not surprised that Suzie was cut loose. She really improved a lot over the courseof the show, and ultimately I was very impressed by her (at the beginning I thought she was not so good). I think she'll be just fine. Maybe she and Ty can get together for more song collaboration after its all over.
MiG seems to get too out of breath when he dances around - weird considering he's not a smoker. He really reminds me of Donny Osmond - way too goody-goody. No edge at all - I totally agree with you Mauvaisroux.
I hope I never hear Trees again! I am so tired of it. It sounded pretty lame as an acoustic song. Pretty Vegas, though, is stuck in my head. I hope JD wins and that is their first single as a band. MiG should go back to the stage, and Marty should go back to alterna-rock with his band.

I'm glad JD won, but I did like Marty (except for "Trees"). I wonder if he will really open for INXS on the tour. I'd like to hear more from him.
With all the hub-bub surrounding MiG and his experience in the Queen musical, I was disappointed in his Bohemian Rhapsody - he sounded so out of breath throughout and his voice was not as strong as the song demanded. My husband was in the next room and heard it and said, "That guy is a finalist? He stinks!" He later told me he thought the Pink Floyd guy was not bad, but the guy who did the Stones sounded the best. He is happy the show is over, since it has become a bit of an obsession on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Well, the album comes out in November. I thought the last song they did last night sounded very much like old, mid-1980's INXS, and am curious to see if the whole album is like that or if they try to update their sound a bit. I do hope thay add Pretty Vegas to the album. I still cannot get that sng out of my head.

Yay! JD won! I'm glad he did as usually the person I root for never wins and the one I don't think should win does.

He did a great job last night!
