Yes I know the season just ended but we need to talk about all the baseball goings on.

Just today the Dodgers got a new hitting coach from the Cardinals. :p

Gary, Mark McGwire was a very good hitting coach. He will do well out there in LA.

I see Big Papi is staying with the Red Sox.

Also the Angels traded Dan Haren to the Cubs for Carlos Marmol :?: Are you kidding me?

Just read that Red Sox Nation will have Big Papi for two more years. Great news!!!

Methinks we have a few more issues to work before next season, to be sure.

Rockies are still waiting for a new manager. Now that the Broncos are doing well, there isn't much chatter about the Rockies. I did hear that Carlos Gonzales got a golden glove. Yay!

I'll try to pay more attention so I have something to say on this thread!! :)

So Diane will Giambi be the new manager?

I don't think so, Clyde. They interviewed him awhile back, but just recently they talked to the third base coach of the D-Backs, Matt Williams, and also Eric Young, Sr.

He's still in the running, but I figured if they really were impressed, they wouldn't look further.

I'm hearing about all these pitchers they want to sign. Seems that money is no object.

I don't think that putting more money into a program is always the answer. But, I guess if that's what they think will help...

By-the-by, do you guys know why I can't watch hockey yet? Tis the season.

Doesn't look like there will be much available for pitchers on the free agent market so it will be expensive.

Yes BB, I saw last week that McGwire was coming. Not really a fan of his because of the 'roid situation...not so much that he did it, many were and it wasn't illegal but the fact he lied for years about it later....

But....

If it raises the team average I'm ALL for it! :-)

Reading my last post I see I made a mistake....oops! I don't think McGwire lied, he just didn't admit the obvious for years. He has paid a great price and obviously admitted his wrong when he joined the Redbirds....

That being said....

Walt Weiss? Dianne! Now that's a stretch....wow!

I know! Walt Weiss. But they only gave him a one year contract. Makes you wonder what they are doing. They certainly aren't THAT confident in their choice, I think. There seems to be some management issues going on at the top of the organization. I just don't get it.

Gary he will help the team I am sure of that.

He works well with the young players.

Kyle Lohse would be a good pitcher for you guys. He won't be cheap as Boras is his agent.

It would be interesting to see what McGuire will do, given this new opportunity.
