I know. I know.

Dig some digging this season he is 8 for 47 with runners in scoring position.

I know he will get it going sooner rather than later I hope :)

Clydegirl 05-17-2010 05:19 PM

This just in Pujols has been moved to the clean up slot.

Larussa switched him and Holliday.

EZMONEY 05-17-2010 05:34 PM

BIG BIRD this happens all the time in sports...

maybe it's the...."in your head" problem...

the new guy comes and does well part way through the season...signs for big $$$...gets into a slump and "tries too hard"....

he is a good hitter...he'll probably be back...

heck I hope he is still in left when we play you again..

I know...that was mean...wink and hug!

Sweetcaroline 05-17-2010 06:59 PM

Sox vs NYY, in New York... Dice K for us against Hughes who is 5/0.... Papi is hitting again, and all of our injured are coming back...

Congrats Gary on your journey upwards...

Bill.... do you have my big ole patience pill ready ?

enjoy your games... :corn:

I vow to stop whining no matter what happens ! :D :crossed:

Clydegirl 05-17-2010 07:26 PM

Me too Caroline, no more whining :)

Sweetcaroline 05-17-2010 08:02 PM

So much for the 'injured' coming back... I don't think the 'ink' was dry on my post when they said Cameron still has pain in his stomach and won't be back for awhile...

My whine-free night :tape: has only lasted a half inning as Dice K has allowed 5 runs with no outs...

smile Caroline, smile :goodvibes

Clydegirl 05-17-2010 08:06 PM

Pain in his stomach what's wrong with these people?

Oh, Mike Cameron, he's the player that passed a kidney stone, was out for a day or so, said he was ok, played a couple games while 'bracing' his stomach muscles due to pain, pulled (I heard ripped) a bunch of muscles in his belly and hasn't been able to run, bend or reach well since... ...

We also have our (CF) Ellsbury on the DL, he was stepped on during a play and has four broken ribs..... we all know how long those take to heal...

Clydegirl 05-17-2010 08:53 PM

OK now I feel guilty :o That's a good reason to not play.

Ouch stepped on that hurt.

We're playing the Nationals tonight. Up 4-0 at the moment.

EZMONEY 05-17-2010 09:10 PM

Speaking of injuries...going to put a splint on Ethier's pinkie and see if he can swing a bat after the soreness goes down....

hoping to knock that star off those 'stros tonight!

EZMONEY 05-17-2010 11:06 PM

OH MY SWEET-C and BILL I just switched from the Laker game...to see the 9th on MLB channel...ouch!...hugs for NATION

Sweeet catch by LUDWICK there Big Bird!

Clydegirl 05-17-2010 11:16 PM

Looking good Ludwick.

Won the first of 2.

Sweetcaroline 05-18-2010 07:07 PM

:tape: Yankees... ya... that one hurt...

I wish they would mix up the divisions... I'm sick of Yanks and Rays, Yanks and Rays.... yada yada...

There was a very funny part of the game though... in the 7th a play at first brought our manager out to argue with the first base ump... they were going at it... suddenly God Bless America started... both of them automatically took off their caps and looked up at the flag... the song ended and they resumed their argument... it was a riot.... I'm going to look for the clip...

Enjoy your games... :corn:

EZMONEY 05-19-2010 09:13 AM

How 'bout dem DODGERS! :carrot:

The win last night gives them 11 out of the last 12...1 game out of first :)

Put Ethier...at the time, the best hitter in baseball...on the dl for that broken pinkie....

pitching is flat awesome right now...

I take it back....baseball is not over-rated ;)

Clydegirl 05-19-2010 02:09 PM

Ryan Ludwick is the most under-rated player on this team.

I hope we can keep him.

Beat the Nationals again last night.

The Marlins are in town for 2 games. Wonder if Ramirez will still be benched. That was a bit much the comments he made.

EZMONEY 05-19-2010 04:11 PM

Padres come into town for 2...we will be in first when they leave....

no-no-no...I did not jinx us!

Sweetcaroline 05-19-2010 06:36 PM

We got the win last night in the late innings... still 9 games behind Rays...

We have hard schedule ahead, Twins at home, then Phillies and Rays on the road...

Enjoy your games everyone :corn:

Slashnl 05-20-2010 09:43 AM

I'm not happy. I don't know what is going on with my Rockies. Sigh.

Sweetcaroline 05-20-2010 08:15 PM

Enjoy your games everyone... :corn:

Clydegirl 05-21-2010 09:10 AM

Inter-League play.

We are playing the Angels. Going to the game tonight.

Joel Pineiro is on the mound for the Angels. Coming back to Busch Stadium. I hope he has an off game. When he's good he's really good.

Clydegirl 05-21-2010 04:50 PM

Gary are you watching the Cards Angels game tonight?

Oh no reason for guilt Clyde... we have our share of whiners ... lol...

Sweetcaroline 05-21-2010 10:24 PM

I guess we can start calling this a 'rebuilding' year... <sigh>

Clydegirl 05-22-2010 12:26 AM

:carrot:

Woo hoo great game. Won 9-5.

They walk Schumaker to load the bases and Brad Penny comes up, grand slam. Then Lopez home run.

Brad Penny left the game top of the next inning injured. Are you kidding me? Strained his latissimus dorsi!!

Clydegirl 05-22-2010 01:44 PM

This is cool. Most of us are represented.

Thanks Clydegirl... those are beautiful shots...

I'm not sure what's going on with our pitching... Beckett is on the DL, Dice K is as inconsistent as my scale... and in my opinion Lackey is not comfortable here at all 'yet' ?... I look around at some of the pitchers we traded (Penny and Arroyo, come to mind) having pretty good seasons so far... I'm waiting for David Wells to pop up somewhere :sumo: LOL... Yet... we keep plugging along... Phillies again tonight...

Enjoy the games everyone... :corn:

Sweetcaroline 05-22-2010 05:30 PM

BILL... where art thou ? You OK ?

Clydegirl 05-22-2010 07:41 PM

What a difference a day makes.

Kyle Lohse was awful, pulled in the third inning. Looks like he might be injured.

Brad Penny on the DL after last night.

Sweetcaroline 05-22-2010 09:57 PM

Well Dice K was a little more consistent tonight... He no-hit the Phillies into the bottom of 8th 2 outs.... oh... so close... we are winning 5-0...

Sweetcaroline 05-23-2010 07:03 PM

Where is everyone ?????

I'm here. You and me Caroline holding down the fort.

Got the win today against the Angels in the 10th inning. I love walkoffs.

BillBlueEyes 05-23-2010 07:43 PM

Reporting in.

I saw the musical, Johnny Baseball at the ART in Cambridge, MA last night. A really funny portrayal of Red Sox fans and the history of The Curse. The fictional character, Johnny O'Brien who earns the nickname Johnny Baseball, is the best pitcher ever in the 1920's. The shallow story line is on the serious topic of racism with bold reminder that the Red Sox were the last team in Major League Baseball to field an African-American, and that wasn't until 1959. A fun evening.

And, they sold Italian Sausages and Hot Dogs from a typical Yawkey Way vendor truck.

Oh Bill... I saw that advertised... I'm going to look into going...
Nice to see you !

Now all we need is for the rest of the gang to check in...

EZMONEY 05-24-2010 08:55 AM

Well TEAM I came back from yankee town in 2nd place :( After being in 1st :carrot: two of the days I was gone...oh well...

off on a 16 game in 16 day run....starting with the cubs....will be home for most of that run....

gonna see Colorado D...Bid Bird and SHANON along the way....

Slashnl 05-24-2010 01:15 PM

Sorry, it was one of those weeks last week and then I was in Denver for my niece's graduation. So busy that I didn't even know how the Rockies did. Well, we're back up to .500. Looks like Gary will be cheering for the Cardinals since they are playing the Padres (I think?). We're at home for 6 games... DBacks and then the Dodgers.

I'll be distracted starting on Saturday, though. We have the Junior College World Series starting here in town and I'll be planting my butt in the stands for as many games as I can. Absolutely love JUCO!! The weather looks good, so I'm very excited! There are 4 games on Saturday, 3 games on Sunday and Monday. Then I have to go back to work... so I'll only be able to go to the night games starting on Tuesday. I'll keep you posted!

EZMONEY 05-24-2010 01:18 PM

Here is me giving a yankee t-shirt display the 'ol DODGER one thumb down...:)

Clydegirl 05-24-2010 01:46 PM

Gary explain yourself :) More information please.

We have a day off and then play the Padres.

You never told us you were going on a roadtrip.

We wondered where you were.
