Hungry Moon

One sleep until the Hungry Moon - the Full Moon on February 9th

[Perhaps, if you feel hungry on Monday, it's from your Native American side.]

Yep, I'm on days and I finally got to blow something up. Cool thing is I don't even have to exercise after blasting due to the work out I get just working. Boss complimented me to a bigger boss.:D A different boss, the one that ticked me off last week, is trying to get me off blast in favor of another guy and NO ONE on the crew is having any of it. Lazy dink doesn't want to work or get dirty. Um, we don't need dat crap. Dis is a dirty job, and I love it.

Sorry to hear you is the dumps Ruthie. Glad today was better. And may tomorrow be even more so. :yay:

Love y'all. I'll try to at least get in my Wake Up call tomorrow, but no promises.:dizzy:

It is a big church!

SUSAN...I missed this...what is a commissioning?

Operator265 02-08-2009 09:50 PM

Yes, Susan, please 'splain. Inquiring minds want to know. So do us nosy peoples.

Clydegirl 02-08-2009 10:49 PM

Gary your man is on The Grammy's.

That was short but sweet.

Morning!

A commissioning? ... we were presented to the congregation of the sending church and they prayed for us. A churchy send-off sorta. We had one in our church too but I had to work.

Operator265 02-09-2009 06:10 AM

Good morning everyone.

I see, Susan. Kind of a pre-trip blessing with food.:hun:

srmb60 02-09-2009 06:19 AM

Exactly, Operator!

Is there such a thing as a Church event without food? I suggested we not have goodies with our post-service coffee during Lent and nearly got excommunicated.

By the way, I was down in the dumps because of some bad news about my oldest and dearest friend. She has cancer but is very positive. I need to take lessons from her.

Slashnl 02-09-2009 08:28 AM

Sorry to hear about your friend, Ruth. But that's good that she is staying positive! I think that helps a lot.

PearFreak 02-09-2009 09:20 AM

Oh Ruth ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) Sorry to hear about your friend. Glad to hear though that she is staying positive. More ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

That is true too. And to funny. Our church puts it out before & after. And it is always a struggle to tell the kids "We just had breakfast wait till after service." They always manage to make us look likt the mean parents.

By the way, I was down in the dumps because of some bad news about my oldest and dearest friend. She has cancer but is very positive. I need to take lessons from her.

Sorry to hear about your friends illness. Hugs for you both. Will say a little prayer for her & her docs!

I hope your friend keeps her positive attitude. I have cancer, too and let me tell you, cancer met it's match when it met this KAW. I will not take this lying down, and your friend doesn't have to, either.

Ruth~when my Mom was diagnosed with cancer she finally stopped telling anyone about it because she didn't want them to feel sorry for her because she didn't feel sorry for herself. She's 5 years post op with no sign of recurrence.

On another note I'm not feeling too hot today. I'd like my DH to return to work so I can go home.
