Heck 45 is Young! Try 70 and that's not even old these days I keep telling myself!

Slashnl 01-27-2009 03:40 PM

Allison, are you kidding? You're 45? So am I!

And no, it isn't old. It might have seemed old when we were 20, but we were very wrong then!

Operator265 01-27-2009 03:59 PM

I went skiing a couple of times when I was 27-28. Loved it. Hoping to try it again now that I'm getting fit and fantastic. If not this season, definitely next will see me out on "The Greatest Snow on Earth." It is ridiculous that I live less than an hour from about 10 ski resorts and haven't been going.

I may be 40, but I'd look pretty good in ski pants.

alinnell 01-27-2009 04:36 PM

Operator~living in Utah and not skiing. Something is wrong there! I love Alta and Park City. My DH's family used to have a timeshare at Snowbird in the Ironblossom Inn--but they sold it before I met him. They often would get snowed in and have to miss school (darn)!

I think I knew that--didn't I? They say the mind is the first thing to go.

JuliaDH 01-27-2009 04:42 PM

Y'all not making be feel optomistic about aging.

Ruthxxx 01-27-2009 04:51 PM

It's not so bad. People treat me with respect BUT NOT IN HERE!

srmb60 01-27-2009 05:09 PM

I respect you Ruth!

I am 48 and darned proud of it!

JuliaDH 01-27-2009 05:12 PM

Who needs respect when they have a 6 pm scotch waiting for them. I imagine you sitting by the crackling fire with your feet on the ottoman in a dark leather arm chair. With the man servant in the kitchen preparing dinner. Cause that is how I would do it.

I know. It's sacrilegious. But I will soon be joining the faithful. My X and I are thinking about renting a condo in Park City for a week long family vacation. Sounds silly when we live so close, but it would be like "getting away from it all."

BTW, Ruth, we do to respect you, ya old buzzard.......Ma'am!;)

alinnell 01-27-2009 06:03 PM

6 PM Scotch? Isn't it supposed to be 5 PM as in "it's 5 o'clock somewhere!"

Operator265 01-27-2009 06:15 PM

Al, she's a Canadian. You know they're not good with numbers and measurements.

BTW, Web, I have some Salsa Chicken in the oven right now. My DD has informed me, "This better be good." Me, "Um, yeah, right little girl.":dz:

Hattie22 01-27-2009 06:26 PM

I am 48 and proud too! Although when I hit 50 it might not be so nifty.

I tried that right foot thing and the first time I drew my 6 backwards. Tried it again and my foot went sideways. Well...at least you got one to try it.

Bill...watch out ...I am going for it!!

Operator265 01-27-2009 06:44 PM

HOLY MOLY!!!! I just got a, "That was good, Mom. Thank you." out of my 15 yr. old DD. Yep, that's right, I said 15 yr. old.:carrot: Bless you, Web. Tomorrow--Tortilla Soup. I've got the Rotel, I just need some broth.:hun:

JuliaDH 01-27-2009 07:47 PM

HOLY MOLY!!!! Just finished bed time reading with my 7 yr old. Wondering how and when it happened that he could read chapter books (grade two) ...was it not just yesterday that I was cuddling my new bundle of joy! Rejoicing in him nursing well and sleeping for 6 hours.

That never works for me. I went back and bought some more of the same socks. They looked the same, same packaging, same woven pattern, but the new socks were actually a couple inches longer than the old socks. Then they were even harder to match cause they could look similar but be different heights!!!!

This is insane. I cannot believe it. I don't even have to move my hand. As soon as I'm thinking about drawing a "6", my foot changes direction! And I can pat my head and rub my stomach (or vice versa) at the same time. I can also do jumping jacks where you do the arms to a count of two and the legs to a count of three. I know I'll keep trying to do this!

:encore: I'd like to take credit for this, but I think the salsa chicken was from someone else - perhaps EZ.
:turkey:

Karen31 01-27-2009 08:16 PM

When I told my DH about this he was sure he could do it----LOL!!! Now he says if I concentrate on it enough I bet it can---- guess he hasn't concentrated enough yet!!! But it's fun to watch!!

Operator265 01-28-2009 05:14 AM

Morning All!!! Rise and Shine!!!

Well, I got a Stovetop Smoker last night. Guess the soup will have to wait 'till tomorrow. Tonight we are having Smoked Salmon.

BillBlueEyes 01-28-2009 05:33 AM

Smoked Salmon yummmmmm....

Operator265 reports "Tonight we are having Smoked Salmon."

Make extra, I'm on my way. I love that stuff.

Operator265 01-28-2009 05:42 AM

340-160 to go.

I'm trying veggies in it too. This should be good.

How did Bill wind up posting 1 too early? Skeery!

preetyladyserenity 01-28-2009 07:29 AM

It is almost Friday! Yay!

PearFreak 01-28-2009 07:50 AM

Howdy All!!! Happy Hump Day!!!

Snow, snow, snow... it is a snowing loads here. No end in site. I am stuck indoors, with nothing to do, but stay online. Hehehe!

Ahh yes, I am leaving the shoveling and snowblowing to my dh, he'll do it when he gets home from working a 12 hour shift. Hey, he said he'd do it. I don't want to cross the man.

JuliaDH 01-28-2009 08:18 AM

Good Morning! We are expecting 15cm of snow. Made muffins this morning. Now waiting to shove the kids off to school as I need to hear myself think!

alinnell 01-28-2009 11:34 AM

DH used to have to stop walking when he talked on the cell phone. There's no way he could do the foot thing!

Operator--I told you the salsa chicken was good! (and easy!)

JuliaDH 01-28-2009 12:21 PM

I cant find my deo...had to use dh. Wow thats powerful stuff! Better go buy some! I looked under the bed and behind the dressers....its walked away!

Slashnl 01-28-2009 01:41 PM

Going back to the ski issue (sorry, I can only get online a couple times a day, so you have to think back...), I used to live in Leadville, which is 30 miles from Copper Mountain and Vail, 40 miles from Breckenridge, 40 miles from A-Basin, 60 miles from Loveland.... etc. No one in my family is a skier. I remember one of the true skier fans up there telling me that I was taking up a job that should belong to a skier.

Ok... so we moved anyway! No fun to live in all that snow when you prefer warm weather activities!!

alinnell 01-28-2009 02:04 PM

I went skiing in Steamboat Springs once. That was fun!

Operator265 01-28-2009 02:15 PM

Saw President Ford in Vail once. It was a pain.

kittycat40 01-28-2009 02:17 PM

Can anyone give me a line on this salsa chicken????

BillBlueEyes 01-28-2009 02:34 PM

Take a boneless chicken breast--one per person (and it can be frozen) and place on pan with sides (like a jelly roll pan)--spray with Pam first
cover with 2-4 T salsa
Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes
Take out and put 2 T shredded cheese on top and place in oven until cheese melts
Serve with salad or steamed broccoli

Here tis.

Yes.

Next question?

Operator265 01-28-2009 02:41 PM

Bill, don't you need to go get you some Hot Chillys so you can pee standing up?

Oh I am allowed another question... Hmmmmm, gotta make this a good one. :spin:

Okay, Bill... is there anything that makes you all giddy? You seem all serious, all business and straight to the point (most of the time ;) ). There has got to be one, or two, maybe even three things that make you act Crazy-Silly-Insanely-Hysterical? Do share. I'll share after you share. :)

PearFreak 01-28-2009 02:43 PM

Operator: :joker: You are Bad, Bad, Bad!!! :D

thx man (literally and figuratively)! :D

Operator265 01-28-2009 02:45 PM

BTW, thank you AL for the recipe. Got a little confused earlier. Hey, my teen says "Thanks Mom" ever and I tend to get a little flummoxed.

PearFreak 01-28-2009 02:48 PM

Bill... you going to answer my question??

Everyone else feel free to do so too.

JuliaDH 01-28-2009 03:56 PM

It would make me giddy seeing Bill get silly, maybe lose count therefore miss being the last to post in this thread.
