Ruthxxx - we have a nice guest room ready for you. No snow, no ice (except in the freezer). I'm hoping Florida gets a lot of tourists coming down for the warm weather as most of the rest of the country is c-o-l-d.

bargoo 02-22-2011 08:21 AM

Even California is cold. Cold and wet.

Dear Operator,

When I put my head on the scale to weight the remaining ear,
I can't read the numbers.

Sincerely,

Wants2DoTheRightThing

It must be quite a challenge living with you. I would like to have a talk with your wife sometime.

Ruthxxx 02-22-2011 03:13 PM

Yes, an intervention may be needed. poor woman!

WebRover 02-22-2011 08:31 PM

How is it while having to tilt his head to keep his glasses on, Bill is able to consistently track where we are in the number and jump in for all the significant numbers?

bargoo 02-22-2011 09:38 PM

He is not distracted with sounds coming from both sides of his head .

Operator265 02-22-2011 10:19 PM

Ain't too much going on inside his head either.

Operator , I can always count on you to make the really important observations.

Ruthxxx 02-24-2011 11:47 AM

Not much going on in here either. Have we turned into the inside of Bill's head?
(Actually I find the inside of Bill's head quite interesting - breezy but interesting!)

BillBlueEyes 02-24-2011 11:51 AM

210 . . .

. . . 290 to go

I'm beginning to feel like BillBlueEyes is following me around all day.

WebRover 02-24-2011 08:30 PM

It's time for somebody to sweep it out .

Ruthxxx 02-25-2011 09:30 AM

Wanna see my metal bra? I was Hippolyta in Midsummers Night Dream which was performed in the meadow behind my barn.

WebRover 02-26-2011 01:59 AM

There's a dusty wind blowing through TK. Where are all the regulars?

BillBlueEyes 02-26-2011 04:25 AM

I agree with WebRover but would never have the courage to come right out and say that there seems to be some folks posting here who are irregular - and it shows.

EZMONEY 02-26-2011 08:30 AM

Thanks to my fiber bars I am always regular.

EZMONEY 02-26-2011 08:37 AM

Not sure what is worse....

A dying TK...

This pouring rain on my canceled Starbuck walk Saturday morning....

or...

watching my niece get handcuffed by police in front of my house last night...

humm....

bargoo 02-26-2011 08:50 AM

OK Gary, tell us more. you know we are nosy.

I guess I shouldn't have kept you hangin' :D

Briefly ~

16 year old niece, being raised by my brother (she is the daughter of our brother that passed away) who lives across the street, is feeling like it is her right to do WHAT-EVVV-ER she wants...go figure ;)

Is causing trouble at my brother's house and when she goes to visit her mom on week-ends...mostly because she wants to go to BF's house...his mom is also trying to keep them apart under unsupervised conditions as they have been known to put themselves in compromising situations

Her mom allowed her to go see BF last night...he threatened to kill himself because they had a fight...his mom had cops come get him...niece "drama queen" caused enough commotion to cause her mom to bring her back to my brother's...and that's where the real trouble began....

stood in front of moving cars in front of my house, screaming at my bro and my sil, ran up the street...by then cops came cornered her...she had your basic COPS Bad Boys yell down with them before they put her in their squad car handcuffed :)....

if she learned anything it might be she can't win taking on 3 squads of our city's finest! :carrot:

Not the first issue with my dear niece and surely not the last.....

BillBlueEyes 02-26-2011 05:52 PM

Gooooooooooooooooooood grieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef!!!!!

My heartfelt sympathy to all relatives of sixteen year olds.

BTDT

Just recently asked my adult DD, who has a friend in drug rehab, why she hadn't taken that path. She assumed that it was because she just didn't have an addictive personality. I don't know . . . there's a lot of rolling of the dice when it comes to raising teenagers.

bargoo 02-26-2011 06:20 PM

I remember when I was a teen, and I was , once, back in the ice age I think it was. I thought I knew it all, I did miss out on being handcuffed and hauled off to the pokey. Whew !

EZMONEY 02-26-2011 06:44 PM

Crummy parents can have great kids and vice-versa....

To be honest I think a lot of kids are fence sitters when it comes to teen-age "stuff"....

I personally saw, growing up in a tract of homes, how "life" just might depend on the street you grew up on sometimes! I grew up on a good street but boy those kids on .....whew!!!

I did plenty of things that others got way in trouble for...their circumstances turned out different than mine...

Kids are not perfect and parenst aren't either but I think you can increase the odds of good things out weighing the bad if you give a damn and keep trying...my brother will not give up on her....but he also has her mom to deal with....complicated.....all I know is raising her brother was no piece of cake for me...God love him....wink...but when he found out today what happened he said....

"Uncle Gary, aren't you so glad you raised me?!"....yep..."Now get your huge freakin' spare flat tire out of my garage that has been there since Christmas Day!"....lol...

bargoo 02-26-2011 08:35 PM

I think those two kids are lucky to have you and your brother in their lives. PS I think girls are harder to raise than boys. My brother didn't get into near the trouble I did. I had two boys and they didn't give me any more than the normal growing up problems.

WebRover 02-26-2011 08:39 PM

225, 275 to go!!

Karen31 02-27-2011 09:48 AM

EZMONEY 02-27-2011 02:48 PM

bargoo 02-27-2011 05:45 PM

EZMONEY 02-27-2011 06:11 PM

Ruthxxx 02-28-2011 04:37 PM

Missed this completely but I do have an excuse - our power was out.

Belated Happy Birthday, Gary!

BillBlueEyes 02-28-2011 06:01 PM

They had the Oscars last night and I didn't watch.

Does that make me un-American?

BillBlueEyes 03-01-2011 12:02 PM

I didn't either - and I live in America.

Ruthxxx 03-01-2011 06:16 PM

Answering your own posts, Bill?

BILL :carrot:

That really would be a great performance for Bill to impersonate a CHICK ! A Rooster maybe but not a chick .

Ruthxxx 03-02-2011 07:37 AM

Well, I could lend him my metal bra that nobody wants to see. I have a chicken purse too!

Not a big deal, I have a recipe right here:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/e...ipe/index.html

Remembering that 3FC is a site about healthy eating, I'm not sure that chicken purses belong here.
