So, Ruth when will you be going out of town again? Somewhere around the 500 mark again ? Don't think I haven't noticed this tendency of yours be absent at the most important time. If this doesn't stop you will be sent to the principals office, or the Canadian equivalent.

Hi everybody!! we made it to Colorado safe and sound!! We did have 50 mph wnds though from Pratt Kansas almost to Lamar Colorado---and they were hitting us broadside!! Wasn't fun trying to keep a 36 feet 5th wheel on the road!!
These are some pictures I took yesterday while we were coming up Ute Pass and just outside of Woodland Park! They had 12 inches of snow the night before!!! Now that we are here I just hope it doesn't snow anymore until we leave!!! Have a good day! |

Hold your breath that we stay up. |
Great pictures KAREN
I was looking forward to catching up here this morning at 5am...and that was sleeping in!...kept waking up but I'll be danged if I am gonna get up at 2 just because I wake up on my day off.... dang melt down..... |
Great pictures Karen...especially the doggie ones! Ahhhhhh
|
Cool pics, Karen. My dog would probably put up with a doggie seat or just about anything else to get to go for a ride.
Well, I got the produce garden started with 16 strawberry plants. Got some tomatoes started inside too. Just have two more boxes to build and fill with loam and that project will be done but for the rest of the plantings which must wait till after Mother's Day. That's typically considered the last frost day round these parts. Pics to come. Also, got my front yard going. All my rose bushes made it except one. Figures it was the one the X picked out. Turned out to be just as lazy and useless as he was. Gee, can't imagine why I divorced him, huh? :p But, I got a prettier one planted in its place. Going to do some Dahlias and Glads this year even though they have to be lifted in the fall. I just love them, so it will be worth the extra work. Can't get the rest of the bulbs in till the soil I ordered gets here. I JUST LOVE SPRING TIME IN THE ROCKIES!!!!! :dancer: OK, so it's really the Wasatch Range, but, that just sounds stupid. |
Hey! April is nearly over and we've not had any snow. I guess it's time to pay the plough guy.
|
I managed to save most of my landlady's plants, except for one tree. It still looks sad out there, but that's how it's going to be. Landscapers around here don't go for all natives by the looks of it, so whatever dies from low maintenance (occasional watering) dies whether I keep it up now or not. I'm not here to do her gardening, ;) even though I would love to have a veggy patch.
|
 I hate to brag.....
  :lol3: :lol3:   but FYI....Angie and I already have baby broccoli and tomatoes....squash, beans, and more sprouting.... and....AND!!! the lettuce is ready to pick :carrot: I will send pics later today as proof.... since I am off work today and looking for someone to pick on  |
Congrats Gary!
I know my parents' garden is growing well, I sneak down there to get some fresh eats, :D. I'm trying to convince my dad to do snow peas again this year, yum! |

Oyi! I wish you Canadians/Westerners/West Coasters well, this is surprising news:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-501465_1...72-501465.html http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N22129903.htm I'd keep an ear open if you are the outdoorsy type. Well wishes for everyone and their pets! |
HELLO!
heehee Yes I finally logged in after a long hiatus. You can thank the plumer who just wont leave so I can get to the gym where I have been every morning for the last 3 months! |
Happy Monday everyone! Gary gets the day off? How fun!
|
18 minutes before I prepare to haul my bum to the gym. ;)
I've charged my MP3 player and I am ah-ready to go! Hm. That reminds me. Does anyone have some tunes that just really gets them going? I could use a new mix to distract myself away from the TVs that are provided. Why do they have food network on anyway, I'd laugh and just might have been interested in some of the recipes if watching nearly a whole stick of butter go into a dish didn't make me nauseated! |
There's a fungus amungus?
Welcome back, Julia. I missed you. Did he have a plumber crack? |
420 . . .
. . . 80 to go
This thread is so ready to be dead. Maybe by the fourth of July. |

Thanks, Gary. I'll mention it to the lads at the Diner. Three of them are plumbers.

Pretty pic, Ruth. :D
4th of July, really, Bill? :?: Surely we can kill this thread long before then! |
FIRST TIME SEX
A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night to meet, and have a dinner with her parents. Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time. The boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it's his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex. At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he'd like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all. That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. "Oh, I'm so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!" The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl's parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down. 10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy. Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, 'I had no idea you were this religious.' The boy turns, and whispers back, 'I had no idea your father was a pharmacist.' |
LOL !!!!
This reminds of when I worked as a manager of a credit union and one of my members came in needing to borrow money as he had "bought a condom in Santa Cruz". It was all I could do to keep a straight face until he left ! For you that are scratching your head wondering why that is funny....he meant to say condominium. |
75 to go! I think we can do this by Mother's Day! Easy!!
|
Ditto to that Mother's day.
*stretch* Now, back to work for me... :( |

All up here now...me, Angie, Reba and Rylee...of course Angie got up real fast when Reba jumped into bed with her...
guess I forgot to tell her it was raining outside...dogs gotta go potty too! |
So What do you think?
This was in my e-mail this morning.... GREAT IDEA... Here is a possible solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports. Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you .It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this crap about racial profiling, and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift. Case Closed! This is so simple that it is brilliant. I can see it now: you are in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter,an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention standby passengers... we now have a seat available on flight number..." |
Too easy. Doesn't employee enough people. BUT WAIT...clean up would be considered hazardous waste...money can be spent on special suits, training for the clean-up, special chemicals for this clean up...Gary this might be doable after all! <big grin>

I already have a major fear of airport security due to my time blasting. It doesn't take much ANFO to set off the sniffers. I probably have some residual. I just gave one of my old work bags to a neighbor kid to use while on mission and didn't think about that until after he left. Hope he doesn't wind up spread eagle against the wall of a security office getting poked and prodded in places best left unpoked and unprodded. hehehe
|
440 . . .
. . . 60 to go
Now that's a happy thought. I got a neat Land's End canvas brief case from a yard sale for a buck. I love it. Costs about $120 in their catalog. Hadn't thought about how much ANFO or, say, cocaine, that bag might have toted. Whooooooooooooooooa. |
