Did a 5 mile WATP before breakfast this morning. I think it is easier to do that way. I was less tired at the end.

I work out Monday through Friday at 4:00 am (I know this is insane, but I am a commuter) and I prefer to work out on an empty stomach. The weekends I work out a little later, but in the morning. When I have a long bike ride ahead of me I need to eat something or I will burn out mid-ride, so I have been eating breakfast before I head out.

Saturday - 17-mile bicycle ride
Sunday - Fat Burning Walk (4 miles)
Today - 12-mile bicycle ride

Hey ladies! I am just now checking back in. We got home Saturday evening. Just had a wonderful time with my sons. Just about as close to a perfect week as we could get.

With all my good intentions I still only did formal exercise once while I was gone. I measured out a half mile walk and did that to equal two miles there. Better than nothing I suppose. We did do alot of walking while there, but that isn't the same as actual exercise to me.

Didn't get much sleep Sunday night, so slept in and did not exercise Mon. Still didn't sleep well last night, but did get up and back to it with the 2 Mile High Energy Burn w/ weights. It felt so good to move and I didn't really feel the effects of not exercising last week.

Cathy-Are you sleeping any better??

Annie - Glad you had a nice trip. There is nothing like getting away and having a wonderful time. Especially spending time with your kids.

Cathy - My work commute is a little over an hour (bus) and I get to work at 6:30 am. I decided that during the summer I would get my workouts completed in the am instead of the warm evenings. It has been working out fine so far, except for those days I cannot get any sleep. Getting only a couple of hours of sleep these past few days has been brutal.

Last night was day three with little of no sleep so I did not work out this morning (hit the snooze bar). I just came back from a 2-mile walk to make up for it.

Looks like lots of us are having sleep issues.

Here is a link to the 40-Something's thread where I posted a note and pics from our trip. It is reply #69.

Annie - Those are great pics. You have a very handsome family. Looks like you had a great trip.

Well I got a solid six hours of sleep last night and feel great! With me its not menopause (been there, done that). There is nothing going on in my life that is causing any stress, unless the purchase of a guitar over the weekend is causing me grief. Maybe its the hours of practice and sore fingers. I don't think that is it either. Maybe it is the realization that my oldest grandchild, Lily, is turning 6 today. Who knows. I have my normal cup of Sleepytime Tea and relax each evening with a book. I just know that a day or two of sleepless nights takes a toll on me.

Today - 12-mile bicycle ride

Yay for sleep, Toonses! I was asleep before 10 p.m. last night, which is really early for me. Still had trouble getting up, but was able to squeeze in the 2 Mile 30 Min. Walk.

Now we just need to hear that Cathy got some sleep and all will be well.

Did at least 2.5 miles of the 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk this morning, w/ 2# weights. I was running late and had to stop.

On Facebook, Leslie posted that they are filming a new 5 mile walk this Friday and was asking for suggestions.

I would suggest more strength-training (use of weights) and "boosted walking."
