Looks like people are doing really well! I had a bit of a different scenario yesterday, where I decided to stop my semi-fast and have a bucket of unbuttered popcorn at a movie instead. :carrot:

The surprise was, I still lost! But this does not bode well for making weight by Wednesday morning. I may have to just reconcile myself to not losing this week, as there's another celebration smack-dab in the middle of it. We'll see!

I know with this thread, it is daily weights but I only count weekly as my "real" weight loss (mental thing :dizzy:). If I take Mondays as my weigh-ins, my weight loss since going "on plan," which was a month ago, is:
April 13 -- 154.8
April 20 -- 153.2 (-1.6)
April 27 -- 151.4 (-1.8) (switched to a low carb plan on April 29)
May 4 -- 148.6 (-2.8)
May 11 -- 148.0 (-0.6)
= 6.8 pounds lost in 4 weeks = avg 1.7 pounds/week = good progress for me!

IF I continue at this average rate, I could lose 5.1 more pounds by June 1, which would put me at 142.9, which would be ASTOUNDING progress for me.

ugh just trying to stay positive... got a little/lot bingey last night - I actually know the exact trigger, seeing a photo of myself - and that scares me. Trying to keep rational during this process.

ANYWAY in my very longterm plan that I have outlined, today is the day I start "exercising" again, whatever that might entail. At the minimum I will go to the gym and do something... anything... treadmill, stair-stepper, yoga class.... weights come later in my plan...

Hi All! I know I'm late to the party but I'd love to join this thread!! I have been a member of the 3FatChicks forum for a while when I started Ideal Protein a few years ago. Ideal Protein made me lose 30 lbs FAST, but then I gained most of it back. IP helped me lose it again, but then gained. I'm learning that calorie counting and staying active (fitbit!) is the best way to lose weight so you don't deprive yourself. The weight doesn't come off as fast, but I'm not miserable lol. With that said, I have not been very strict this month for many reasons (my birthday, family in town, etc). But, I still want to see progress. I'd like to be to 140 by the end of the month. Here is what I have so far:

5/1 - 144.8
DISNEY vacation for my Bday
5/4 - 146.2
5/5 - 145.8
5/6 - 145.4 - Went to Melting Pot - YUMMMM
5/7 - 145.4
5/8 - 144.6

Was not good this weekend... Pizza, Cookies, etc. Also TOM. But I am much better when I get to the weekday routine, so, so far so good on this Monday.

Still hovering around the same weight. Being bad on the weekends kill me. My goal is to get to 140 or even break into the 130s by the end of the month.

Unfortunately I'm feeling a little helpless in the workout department because i have a sore hip. I ran a 10k a few weeks ago and my IT Band flared up, and in turn has made my hip super sore. Rest is pretty much the only remedy, but I'm missing my runs!! Tried a bit of bike yesterday, but it is so boring. Hopefully I'll be back in workout mode soon. Have a great wednesday all!

Somehow, yes it is! I am super careful counting calories and try not to cheat at all. I also have a scale that only weighs to whole pounds.

TBCourt, I've been dealing with a sore hip, too! It seems almost better but I am nervous about pushing it and having it flare up again. I hope you feel better soon!

I need to just keep inching down. I've said it before, but weekends are what kill me. I'm good all week, creep down a pound or two, and then gain it all because of a few bad meals on the weekend. Fingers crossed I can stay strong.

Thesame7 - I hope your hip gets better! I've been rolling out my IT band every night, and thinking of going to get a massage this weekend (i know, don't twist my arm!) :) ... I feel like mine is getting better but it flares up in the weirdest situations. like right now, the more i walk on it the better it gets, but when I sit in the car for more than 20 mins, it aches and is hard to walk when i get out. quite frustrating :)

TBCourt, the car was the WORST for my hip! How strange, we must have the same sore muscle (though my IT band wasn't involved).

I was in a 3.5-hour meeting today with homemade lemon bars, donut holes, and banana bread. I ran out of coffee and had to switch to sweets to keep going. :o

Refocus
 
I switched to maintaining this month; between my finals at school, my group project (group members assigned by the professor- don't know the people, hate group projects anyway- I ate my way through 2 dozen cookies the night the assignment was due) and putting in an offer on a house (it was accepted, so in the process of buying a house), I figured it was better to step back and go into maintenance rather than further stress myself out. Next month will be calmer

However, I also signed up for the LoziLu Mud Run in Boston in July, so I have to start training for that. And my best friend in NJ started doing a couch-to-5k and she wants to be able to run with me when we are together at the end of the month. So, I still have exercise to look forward to.

So I've had this same scale for forever, and it's digital but it's very off. But you never know exactly how much, as it's a percentage of what you way. For example, with the new scale, my 3 year old is 34 lbs. She is on the old one too. But for me it's around 4 lbs off and for my hubby it's around 7 lbs off. So I'm officially changing my goals as well. Instead of 130 for the end of May, I'm gonna try for 126 instead.

Yay new scale! and it measures to the tenth...

Thesame7 - I ran about 1 mile yesterday with no pain so I'd say that is a victory! I dont want to push it too much though, going to wait a few more days until I run again. And I'm not 100% sure mine has anything to do w/ the IT Band, that is just what I was told from an athletic trainer, but who knows. I'm just trying to stretch and rest.

Welcome, TBCourt! :welcome: :welcome3: :welcome2: I've got the hip thing going on, too. Hope yours is better soon! Thanks for the IT Band info. I'll have to look that up. I had a couple of missteps at the movie the other day, because their lighting system was on the fritz, and I think that made it worse.

I didn't make weight this week, which was not surprising, as the weigh-in was two days early, due to a trip. No biggie! I'm just going to try again next week. ;)
