I ate a scone today at a work lunch and extra carbs in general, (plus two pieces of chocolate), but not a disaster.

Woohoo! Congrats on keeping it under control, Panda, even if you did splurge a little! It's an important part of maintaining. I ate a ton on Superbowl Sunday. Like, I typed in my brunch that day and it was about 1,000 calories. But, I planned on eating a lot that day, so I went low the week before and am trying to stay low this week too. Being able to have crazy splurge days occasionally is important to me. The biggest part to me is jumping right back on the wagon the next day. Especially when there are leftovers. Ugh.

I've done pretty well so far today. I had a typical breakfast/lunch (eggs, sandwich, and small snack in there), hit the gym after work, and then had a not-so-nutritious supper (made not so nutritious by half a packet of one of those rice sides). I've kept under calories, though! According to My Fitness Pal I'm about 250 under goal calories, and my goal weight loss is set to 1 pound a week.

Scale at the gym said I was around 146, but I know that would be up from my morning weight. When I have a working scale, I like to weigh in the AM after voiding, so the scale at the gym is definitely higher due to eating/drinking all day and wearing clothes/shoes. I'd guess that I'm holding tight around 143ish? I can't wait to go home to my parents' this weekend and snag one of the scales I ordered batteries for. I'm curious what I'm actually at. The scale there is digital and reads to the 0.2 lb. At the house I'm currently living at, I just have one of the older scales with 1 lb measurements that isn't digital. It's not super helpful when you aren't losing very quickly.

Hey fellow featherweights! Hope your weeks have been going well. Mine has! As a little background, I'm a student and this year consists of doing a bunch of short internships that are generally 5 weeks long. Anyway, I'm just about to finish up one of those internships next week and I gave my big presentation for the rotation today. I'm super glad to have that off my chest, as I was not interested in the topic at all and also HATE presenting. I felt so much bubblier and happier once it was over.

Calorie intake has been going well this week according to MFP. Unfortunately, I made a (pretty expired) pack of potatoes for dinner last night, mixed it with chicken and turkey bacon. Anyway, I generally don't have trouble with those once they're expired, but this one did not taste the best. I've finished the mix off over lunch and dinner today too, so I'm glad to be done with that. And also excited to go home this weekend and hopefully eat some more varied food. It really is hard to cook healthfully for one. I've been a little bad on food quality this week, partially because I ran out of a lot of my core foods later in the week, then I'm going home this weekend, and will be back for only Monday and Tuesday next week before heading off again. Being on such a tight budget, I don't really want to buy a bunch of food just to have it expire or use up a lot of days toward the expiration. Again, cooking for one. It's hard enough to get through some of my good food before it goes bad!

I've gone to the gym for the last few days and hit up cardio kickbox last night, which I love. I wish it was available at my gym more than once a week. Elliptical and arms today.

Hopefully I'll see a good number on the scale when I go home this weekend and can grab a new scale with the batteries I ordered. The one I have here, which I mentioned isn't that great, showed around 141/142 today, so I'm expecting a decent number. Unfortunately, I can't recall if the scale I'll be grabbing runs high or low. I'm just hoping it doesn't run high and the scale here runs low. That would be a bummer to have it jump up to mid to high 140s. I'd maybe start feeling bad about posting in this thread :P

Hi all,
I worked at a client site this week and ended up eating extra calories, mainly carbs.
And then was stress eating at home.

The scale went up but then back down so I will just continue to do my best. Tomorrow night I am going to a fancy dinner but Sunday will be an early dinner with a girlfriend, so for Sunday I will select a sensible meal.

I am so ready for the weekend!

Anyway my weigh ins lately were
139.4 (for several days)
142 (yesterday)
139.6 (this morning)

Also- I too always prepare meals just for one.
I do wish that it was easier to buy groceries in smaller portions, sometimes the smaller portions of chicken etc cost more, so i buy larger and then have to cook it all and freeze some- I don’t think it tastes good after it’s been frozen..

I make a salad with mainly cucumber, tomato, olives and then eat that for a few days. I cook eggs a lot. Or I defrost and toast an English muffin.
Ham and cheese if I want to make a sandwich.
Yogurt or ricotta.
I occasionally make steak, or fish.
That’s normally what I eat.

Hi all,

I'm up a bit today and feeling a bit frustrated ... If you would like to join another challenge I started a new thread called the Winter Olympics 16 Day Challenge. You can find this thread under the "Chicks up for a Challenge" support group. The challenge starts today and ends in 16 days when the Olympics end.

134.2

I totally intended to hit the gym today (i late canceled the class, which is v expensive cancellation fee). Ugh
I used to love going and renewed a membership there before i knew i was moving etc and have been unmotivated to go for months. On days I don’t go i should take a long walk or do a fitness dvd but also totally need to get enough sleep, pack my gym bag ahead of time, and just make it happen.

On the plus side I dropped another pound this am.
Going to really eat lite/drink a lot of water today because i have an upscale dinner tonight and will definitely want to eat dinner.

Hi all.

Got the electric scale from my folks and I'm happy to say it weighs in around what I was hoping. 142.0 yesterday.

It's been a bit of a fun weekend, so lots of eating for me. Tasty, but hopefully not too bad for the waistline. I went to go look at my wedding venue (for next fall) yesterday, so we ate there and it was great. I knew that already, though, because my cousin got married at the same place a year or so ago and everyone loved it.

How exciting (or not) that we're all essentially cooking for 1! I'm a pretty picky eater, unfortunately. I really don't eat much for fruits and veggies due to a pretty strong aversion to their texture. Yes, I'm fully aware of how great they are for you, but that's really hard to overcome when the last time I tried to eat lettuce the texture literally made me throw up. I try to get around that some by making smoothies which I can pack spinach into and plenty of fruits, etc., but I don't have blender access for the next 6 weeks. I do take vitamins and drink metamucil to supplement fiber,
which isn't ideal but I figure is better than not doing that since the veggie thing isn't changing. Otherwise, yeah, I generally do eggs for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, and what have you for dinner. Generally chicken, because it's cheap and generally healthy. Snacks vary a lot. Right now I'm super into cottage cheese. I loved it when I was a kid and recently rediscovered it. I have a huge sweet tooth too, but I've actually gotten that pretty under control right now, which is usually a huge downfall for me. Oh hey cookies? Thanks. I'll have 8.

Hi everyone. My weight today was 132.6. I had plateaued for about a week so I'm happy with this.

I also cook for one and don't really like cooking either. I also cook things in batches to save time. I will cook up some chicken and freeze it and then pull a piece out for dinner and just add vegetables or a salad which makes dinner fairly easy. I will also make a huge batch of vegetarian chili in my crock pot and freeze it so I can easily heat it up for dinner. I did recently come across a recipe for cauliflower patties which I might cook up a bunch and freeze them.

Here's the recipe if you're interested: 2 c. cooked cauliflower, 1 egg, 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese and 3/4 c. breadcrumbs. Combine all ingredients and form into patties (makes about 8). Put in oven at 375 degrees for about 20-25 min until golden brown.

matinee88: Congrats on getting to 130. The Winter Olympics 16 Day Challenge involves setting a weight loss goal that you would like to achieve over the course of the Olympics. There really are no rules - you can weigh in daily, weekly or whatever works best for you. I will compile everyone's goals into a list and then when a goal is met, it will be highlighted in gold/yellow in recognition of your achievement during the Olympics.

fofo bunny: your kick boxing classes sounds great. See you on the Winter Olympics Challenge thread. I set a goal of 2 lbs for the Olympic's challenge since I lose weight so slowly and tend to have a lot of plateaus.

Flower1 thank you for the recipe. I will need to try it this month.

I’m hoping the scale drops back down because this morning it was up a lb but thibk it is mostly sodium.
