Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! I'll be here for awhile. It was pretty awesome seeing 129, but I still waver up to 131. Sigh.

Today I was so sick with the flu and got NOTHING done. I'm going to be getting up early to make headway tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great turkey day!

ChickieChicks 11-26-2011 08:16 AM

128.5 this morning. Just getting over TOM, so my weight finally went back to where it should be. It is excruciating losing 0.5 a pound every 2 weeks, when I am on-plan and working so hard. Ugh!!

sontaikle 11-26-2011 11:50 AM

Hey everyone :) I'm joining this thread officially since I've been at 139 for two days straight!

I'm very close to my goal I think so I'm looking forward to shedding these last few pounds with you ladies :)

I know, right? That's what happens to us shorties when we get close to our ideal weight. I have been struggling with this, especially with the Thanksgiving holiday this past week.

I am changing up a few things next week, such as using a JUDDD plan (like a cross between intermittent fasting and calorie cycling) and starting a new gym routine so that by the time New Year's comes, I will already be in a good gym groove. That will make it easier to stick to my New Year's Resolution. :)

I haven't weighed in several days. I will be weighing again on Monday morning, but I am pretty sure it will be right around 131. Still.

ChickieChicks 11-26-2011 08:11 PM

shrinking- I'm pretty sure i hate the number 131. LOL It just haunted me. I hope you pass it this Monday and never have to see it again. :)

Thanks! I went down to 129 the other day, but I am sure those two pounds came back. I can just feel it, you know? Anyway, it WILL come off, it's just not coming off at the rate it was before - especially as I approach my goal.

What did YOU do to break through the dreaded 131?

Welcome and congrats on joining the featherweights in the 130's! :broc:

ChickieChicks 11-27-2011 08:06 AM

I think TOM really was to blame! i was 128.5 again today, and it was the first time I have been in the 120s two days in a row. I think it's sticking finally!!

natamars 11-27-2011 08:43 AM

What a successful group of ladies! Maybe some of it will rub off if I post here.

I had gotten down to 127 during the summer but after a rough few months at home and at work I'm back to the upper 130's.

I've recommitted to calorie counting and exercise(had somewhat kept up with that). Trying to run 2-3 times/week in addition to body sculpting classes and the eliptical.

This will be a tough time of year, but we can do this!!

Tiny Tiger 11-27-2011 12:09 PM

Wow looks like most people here are almost out! Congrats. I'm at the other end at 138.5. Although I've been here forever and am already ready to get out of the 130's!

ChickieChicks 11-27-2011 01:28 PM

Welcome to the newbies! You'll be out of the 130s in no time!

I'll probably stay here, b/c i don't really aim to get out of the 120s. :)

I'm at the higher end :) I'm 138 too. We can get lower into the 130s together!

tiffanylee 11-29-2011 02:12 PM

ive been trying to get pass 131 FOREVER. ive only seen 129 a select number of times. does anyone have any suggestions?

ChickieChicks 11-29-2011 07:13 PM

Tuffany- I guess it is the dreaded 131, seems to be the "bad number" here! LOL My advice is to just stick to it. As frustrating as it is, the more I just whine and stick to my plan, it comes off eventually. Feel free tovent..that's what we are here for!

I was actually off-plan today. I count calories, so I don't eat too many things that aren't easy to count, and I stay away from high carb and high sugar. My son has been begging me to make pumpkin pancakes, so I did and I ate 1.5 of them with low-sugar syrup. No idea what that was, but it definately was not a normal breakfast for me! I think it messed up my whole day! I was just so hungry and nothing was doing the trick. We ate lunch at Panera, which is a super-rare treat, but I never have trouble restraining myself. Today...carb-licious! I've felt blah all day since and I just went for a snack and had to FORCE myself to put down the crackers before eating them. I never crave carbs, so that was SO WEIRD.
Sitting my my diet pop for the day now and committed to atleast ending the day well! EDITED to add: I just looked up everything I ate today and I'm just under 1850! I sure do feel better. :)

LisaTcan 11-29-2011 09:09 PM

Hey everyone!
I'm not officially here until my weigh in on Friday, but I sneaked a peak at my weight (at 9pm!) and I was at 139!!
Really excited to join you guys :)

natamars 11-30-2011 06:43 AM

136.6 this morning. Down for the first time since Thanksgiving. I did not eat last night and feel SO much better about things. Lately when I start eating at night I can't stop. I get enough calories in during the day, so anything at night is not necessary, and I tend to eat junk/quasi-junk.

Lisa, YAY on the 139!! Welcome to the 130's!!

Chickie, sounds like a pretty good day to me! When you're so used to eating very strictly any deviation probably makes it feel worse than it really was.

tiffanylee, ironic that I'm giving advice since I'm back to the mid 130's, but what got me below over the summer was really strictly counting my calories and having some very low days(1000 or so) and increasing my jogging. Not sure what plan you're on. But you're so close - don't give up. You can do this!!!

sontaikle, welcome!

Tiny Tiger, I'm with you! But just being cognizant this time of year will help. I read something in a magazine yesterday that the average weight gain is only 1 lb, between Thanksgiving and New Year's. My weight is lower than the average American, and I can EASILY gain 7-10 lbs. this time of year, so I don't know what they're talking about!!

IsabellaOlivia 11-30-2011 07:52 AM

Weighed in at the same weight as last week. Ate badly last week so I'm lucky to have avoided a gain.

I cannot believe I'm 0.9 pound away from being in the 120s!!! I'm so close I can taste it.

ChickieChicks 11-30-2011 11:45 AM

isabella- SO CLOSE! Can I ask how you picked your goal weight of 110? We are the same height. I'm always curious. :)

Sonatikle- I'm revamping my goal weight based upon body fat %. If I can stay around the 20% body fat range and get to 125, that would be ideal for my frame and size. It is not "low" for my height, but if I went down to the 110s, I'd actually have to lose muscle to weight that little, which I don't want.

I had a pretty cool NSV today!!! I went shoe shopping, my now love now that I'm also a clothes horse. LOL I also wanted to get some black pants that would be nice enough for work, so I grabbed 2 pairs size 4 and 6. Right now I am wearing 2/4s in jeans, but b/c of all the vanity sizing, I figured that maybe wasn't my "real" szie. I was shopping at a very economical store, instead of my usual Ann taylor LOFT, so according to the theory of Vanity Sizing, I should have easily worn a 4 or 6. Nope! They didn't have a 2, so I kept trying on pant after pant and nothing fit. I had to go to the Juniors section!!! So then I thought, well maybe a 5 or 7. Still no! The dressing room attendant was cracking up. I ended up fitting comfortably in a size 3, with enough room so that they weren't unclassly with the fit. And my tiny jeans that I normally have to wear on non-bloated days fit so great now.

It's so hard when you don't lose very much weight anymore, so it's awesome to atleast see SOMETHING changing still. :)

Fayve 12-01-2011 01:50 AM

Some fantastic achievements going on here by everyone! I sadly feel like I've regressed terribly, and I don't even have Thanksgiving to blame.

I started working full-time from doing nothing, but I've been downright exhausted all the time. This week was extra brutal with 4AM shifts, but I'll be back to afternoon/evenings next week. I'm sure I'm burning more calories with all the heavy lifting (i'm a baker!), and moving around on my feet for hours. I think I always underestimate how much damage I can do with my eating in such a small amount of time.

I'm trying to get into heavier weight lifting - I've been putting off going to the gym for days now, but tomorrow I REALLY have to get back at it and get a good burn going, especially since my dad wants to take me out for dinner.

Weight was 137.6 this morning, which was pretty terrifying considering I was 133.8 about a week ago. I know much of it must be artificial, but I just feel super bloated lately, even with drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day.

I was curious to ask. I also track calories, and now that I'm working lots, I aim for 1500 a day. In the past, I've tried for 1300. What are the sorts of numbers that you all aim for (for those that track)?

natamars 12-01-2011 06:40 AM

135.2 this morning! No night eating yesterday, and I jogged 2.5 miles and did an hour of body sculpting. I love when the scale moves like this!

Fayve, I'm sure the going to full-time was a shock. I remember when I went from staying home with my son and working 20 hours a week to a full-time, demanding job with overtime. By 4 every afternoon I was exhausted. It took a few months to adjust, but you will. The shorter amount of daylight doesn't help.

Calorie-wise I aim for 1200 or so, but will go up to 1500 if I'm truly hungry. I'm finding for me a sort of intermittent fasting(trying not to eat after 4PM or so) is making a difference.

ChickieChicks 12-01-2011 09:07 AM

Fayve- Wouldn't it be nice it there was a magic calorie number? Sometimes I envision my body wokring like a computer and I would wake up each morning and it would say, "This is what you need to eat. Voila!" Sigh...a girl can dream. ;) When I was losing I ate at 1200 cals, but that wasn't sustainable for me long-term. I gradually went up by 100-200 cals each month until now I am about 1700-1900/day, but I work out pretty hard and am active during the day.

LisaTcan 12-01-2011 11:17 PM

Wow, so many of you are almost out of the 130's!
I weighted in at 138, I'm excited to be officially in the 130's.
Really hoping I can see 135 by new years.

sontaikle 12-02-2011 05:46 AM

Yay Lisa! So glad you could join us! :carrot:

natamars 12-02-2011 07:59 AM

135.0 this morning. Another night with no eating, and 40 minutes on the treadmill. Trying to work myself up to being able to run a 10 minute mile, then try to keep slowly increasing that distance. Right now I'm probably averaging between 11 and 12 minutes.

TOM is due next week so I'll be happy to just maintain for a while.

Good luck to everyone!

shr1nk1ngme 12-02-2011 09:02 AM

I finally broke through my plateau! And I did it by increasing my calories and switching to a JUDDD low carb plan.

Yay! Today I weighed in at 128. I will wait a week or two before leaving this board, to make sure it "sticks". :carrot:

ChickieChicks 12-02-2011 12:20 PM

Great news, shrinking! I finally hit 128 even today, too! Go us!!! :)

Lisa- You are in the 130s, girl! You made it and we will help you get where you want to be. :)

I am dying right now. LOL Fridays are killer. I signed up for a Zumba Toning & Bootcamp class. It is ROUGH. Today we did 400 crunches and 200 leg-lift-thingies, plus the regular class where you hold weights while dancing in a controlled way. Then I went to regular Zumba, and the sub-teacher is the hardest! I busted it out, but I always feel a little embarrassed, b/c I have to eat part of a protein bar before toning, after toning and even took a mslal break during zumba to eat a few bites and drink extra water. I can no longer work out with very little food in my system, but I also can't work out with a full belly. I haven't figured out just the right thing to eat yet.

LisaTcan 12-02-2011 09:16 PM

Thanks ChickieChicks and Sontaikle! Both you guys are pretty much at your goal, that's exciting.

I'm stuck at home all weekend writing my thesis proposal which sucks for me but rocks for my diet! I won't be tempted to indulge at all.

sontaikle 12-03-2011 11:48 AM

Stupid, stupid TOM. I weighed in at 138. Ah well.

Has anyone got any tips on strengthening one's core? My legs and arms are getting muscular but my stomach is all flabby and it's clear that my core muscles are weak. I can barely do planks!

ChickieChicks 12-03-2011 01:01 PM

sontaikle- I love dancing for the core!! I'm a Zumba addict, so fo course I recommend that, but any dancing really does wonders for tummies. That being said, my stupid mommy doughnut is NOT going away. My actually waist keeps getting smaller, and I have abs, but the circle around my belly button is like a plague. boo hoo....I feel great everywhere else!

sontaikle 12-03-2011 04:12 PM

Funny you should mention Zumba, they just got a zumba instructor at the gym I go to, so I'm looking forward to that class :)

Thanks for the dance suggestion though, I'm going to try using my Just Dance 2 game for a while combined with other exercises for my core. I'm going to start targeting it and starting with a 10 minute workout and see what I can work my way up to.

It's annoying. I lost all of this weight and my stomach looks like crap. I thought that getting into the 130s would help but I realize it's just going to be flabby unless I build the muscle underneath.

On the bright side my arms look fantastic.

LisaTcan 12-03-2011 05:28 PM

I've found my stomach always looks awful! I few years ago I got down to a really fit 130 and was wearing size 4's most of my body looked awesome but my stomach always looked terrible. I've realized I'll probably never wear a stringbikini..but I got this really fun retro high waisted polka dot bikini and it's just as cute.

Ugh..so I went out for brunch this morning and didn't over eat exactly...but I'll alreadt=y at 1100 calories and I haven't had any dinner!

Tiny Tiger 12-04-2011 10:30 AM

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Good news, I just came back from a trip where I didn't have a scale and my weight is at 134.5! Down to the lower half! Only 5 more pounds til I'm out...

Things I have motivating me...
1. a first date with a very cute but skinny guy this week
2. leaving for Costa Rica for xmas 2 weeks from today!
Yikes, gotta kick it in gear!

Sontaikle-- I do pilates almost every day and it's great for your core. Lots of planks! I guess I have the opposite problem, my arms are always fat and gross.

ChickieChicks-- Wow, congrats on your size 3! I don't think I've worn that since I was like 13.

asblandasweare 12-04-2011 02:13 PM

My first post!! And I thought this thread would be the most appropriate.
Just hit the 130's last month for the first time. It feels so amazing. I never thought I'd ever ever be here.
But Lisa I can relate. No matter how hard I work my belly feels the need to hang on. I havn't worn a bikini my entire life. It's so jiggly I hate it. :(

aware210 12-04-2011 05:43 PM

135 right now and so very ready to be in the 120's!! i really want to wow my husband when he gets home from basic training!

IsabellaOlivia 12-05-2011 09:41 AM

OMG OMG
This morning I weighed in at 128.7.
I'm in the 120s!!!!!!!!

:carrot::D:carrot::D:carrot::D

natamars 12-05-2011 09:43 AM

Congratulations! You must be flying today!!

IsabellaOlivia 12-05-2011 11:32 AM

I'm pretty pumped up today!

We all know what a good feeling it is to get out of a weight class.:smug:

Though I'm also a little bumed because now I'm at the high end of the 120s and despite a victory it's still a long battle. A bit like, 'yeah, good, but it still feels like a long way to go'

I know it sounds low to others...But I have to get that low to look good and be healthy.
Because that's a BMI of 20.0, which I think is ideal.
At 18 I used to weigh 105 pounds and I looked 'average weight' and not 'slim' Having now turned 22 I think 110 is more age appropriate.
I'm apple shaped and ALL my weight is in my stomach. My body is so strange I have skinny thin legs and slim arms, but my stomach protrudes out like I'm 5 months pregnant. The fat goes directly to the lower part of my stomach. My waist circumference is 86 cm and being above 80 cm is considered dangerous because of increased risk of diabetes+++

aware210 12-05-2011 12:31 PM

Congratulations Isabella!!

sontaikle 12-05-2011 01:19 PM

congrats Isabella!

138 again, but after a 2 hour workout and the fact that TOM is still around I think I'm still retaining water. Getting worried though as I don't usually retain water this long, but I guess we'll see.

I've also been upping my calories in preparation for maintenance (just to 1400-1500 though) so maybe my body's getting used to the extra food.
