chickiechicks - i checked out your photos - you look FANTASTIC!!!!! Well done to you girl!!
Yes, we had a friend that lost loads of weight but didn't want to buy new clothes and he looked shocking in his old stuff. I never understood that he wouldn't want to fit his new shape better (and he did have plenty of money!) He's moved interstate now and we've not seen him for a year or so, so not sure what he's like now! |
Hi folks... I seem to be out of the 130s (at least for now) but thought I'd check in. I am still struggling with transitioning to a maintenance mode. You'd think it would be easier than losing weight, but for me, it's harder to master.
Congrats on the stylist NSV, kidjing! That must have felt great. :) On the clothes issue, last night I bought 2 pairs of Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda-cut jeans (on sale, and using up some Kohl's bucks). I fell in love with the Amanda (apple-shaped friendly) and they continue to flatter me even at my current size (we Golden ladies tend to keep some tummy pudge). But now I am tearing my hair out because it is really hard to find any that are a small enough. I bought both pairs of size 4 (average length) that they had in stock. I can't find a single online store that sells them in colors in size 4 (average length). The real problem is that I plan on dropping another couple pounds, and I haven't seen a single pair in size 2. How annoying! Other pants just aren't as flattering for us reduced apples. :( I guess if I do drop another size I will have to find another flattering brand. Any suggestions? |

I feel the same way about you with my "heavier" pics. I don't have many either. I would never let anyone photograph me from the waist down and if there were ever any pictures where I could see too many chins or stomach pieces -- deleted! Oh, and the clothes! I have three bags ready to be donated and another couple of piles I just can't bring myself to get rid of yet. I've had several nicer pairs of trousers worth keeping taken in and the cost there has been worth it. I still have a couple of skirts to be taken in too. I am looking forward to shopping the holiday sales this year! I can't bring myself to spend full price on anything! I was able to pick up some things for low prices throughout the summer at Marshalls and TJ Maxx. Right before I decided once and for all to LOSE WEIGHT I had done a lot of shopping for size 12 pants and some Large tops/sweaters all of which I can swim in now. In August I was able to buy 4 bras at a JC Penney sale and now I think the band sizing is a bit big so I've been using the inner most hooks to fasten them. I'm not buying more bras until I reach my goal so hopefully that will be in the next couple of weeks. I'm trying not to think about the money and focus on health and confidence which are priceless. Yoyoma -- congrats on getting below 130! |

Happy Saturday everyone!
I did not see how much I weighed today. I was pretty glutonous last night. I drank beer and ate two pieces of homemade taco pizza. We also visited the frozen yogurt shop. UGH! Yesterday, I weighed 136.8. I'm sort of mad at myself, but then again, I have to live a little. I had another piece of taco pizza for breakfast with my coffee. My husband and I had to go shopping for a pantsuit for me! I am interviewing for the college of Pharmacy on Thursday. I told the lady at Macy's that I wasn't sure if I needed a six or an eight. Well, when I put on the size six, they almost fell off! It turns out I am a pretty loose/comfortable size FOUR! Gosh, that is so awesome to me. I am not going to weigh myself again until Thursday. It would be perfect to be 135 on my big interview day to add to my confidence, but we'll see! Take care everyone! |
I'm definitely a member of this club! Every time I start to see 129 and lower, I start to get comfortable. And lose it. Or rather gain it.
Wouldn't mind bidding the 130s farewell. Forever. |
135 as of this morning. Slowly but surely, it is happening.
:broc: |

I usually don't post here, but oh my gosh Cambodia!! I love that country! I have done research there, worked there, and went back/forth from my old job in the US to meet with partners there.
Also where my fiance and I met ^_^... lots of crazy memories on boat parties, at Elsewhere (before they shut it down) and FCC... and Cambodian people are the most wonderful people you'll ever meet. I loved my Khmer coworkers. PP is such a cool place. |
Weighed in at 132 today!! :D
Now how come my thighs and bum still look so big? :?: |
Hi! Can I join :) I weighed in at 130 today but Sundays are usually my lowest weight day of the week (I think because i don't exercise on Saturdays plus I am able to sleep the full 8 to 9 hours) so I will probably not be fully out of the 130's for a few more weeks plus I think I will call "out of the 130's" when I don't see 130 even on bloated days. I would love to eventually maintain between 125 to 129.
The other question in my mind is... When to stop losing weight? As stated, I think I will stop when I reach 125 but wonder if I will feel the same way when I get there... Well, good night! Rosario a.ka. Charin |

Good for you on being the sort of person that's adaptable enough to do it though! It's certainly not for everyone. I've been in Sydney for 8 years and was in Perth (australia) for 8 years before that and before that i was in yorkshire, England. Have been doing the diet shown on my ticker since the end of August and have been going really well (for me!!). My diet is just 'sensible eating'! Small portions, most of plate is veggies, low carbs, low fat, low sugar. I think it's worked this time because i've been so consistent and it's been easy, but i don't know why it's been easy as historically i've found it more difficult! Hey, Indiblue tell us about your Cambodia experience too. What research were you doing, and how did you meet your fiance? (we want a romance story!!) Welcome Charin!! |
Yessss! I'm finally in your club, just crossed the threshold from 140!!! Looks like an interesting bunch too!
|
congratulations on being here Crimsons - glad you could make it!!
Looks like a few of us are 130's impostors really, but it's a nice place to hang out! |
I'm hanging on to the 130s by the skin of my teeth (ewww, gross image)
I gained weight in October, 2 or 3 lbs, instead of losing that same amount. 139.8 today :( I have to get it together. I am seriously not doing well diet and fitness-wise. I've been making some very bad choices. I am going to re-read my Beck Diet Solution book and start implementing her suggestions again. That is the way I carved off pounds down to ~132 lbs earlier this year. Apparently it takes complete dedication at this point in my life. I just want my clothes to fit again!!! These 5-10 lbs make all the difference. I took my wonderful "goal" boots back already. They were expensive and honestly not perfect for what I wanted, though when I returned them, the cashier was going on and on about how great the boots are. Way to rub it in!! @indiblue. Phnom Penh is a cool spot. In manner of speaking. And you might be pleased to learn that Elsewhere now has two locations!
@ange82much. That bike ride seems fantastic! When next I have a visitor, I plan to give that a whirl! And congratulations on your consistency! @crimsons. Congratulations and welcome! |
@Indiblue, what kind of research and work do you do that takes you to exotic places?

Hi. May I join, too?
I'd like to get back to my old healthy, strong self. In my 20s this was about 120lbs. I could eat reasonably healthy, still indulging in the occasional treat, and exercise several days a week without killing myself (run a couple times and walk most days). I consider this to be my healthy and happy weight. Now that I'm a 34 year old mom, my happy healthy weight may not be exactly what it was in my 20s, but I know where I am now is not it. I'm lethargic from sitting around all the time eating junk food and I'm sick of it. It's definitely time for a change. At the moment, my first goal is to stop gaining weight! I just joined a gym a couple weeks ago and have already been going 2-3 times a week. It's boosting my confidence, but I still have a ton of hard work ahead of me. Tomorrow, I am starting calorie counting and a daily workout plan. I'm going to give myself a healthier, stronger body by Christmas. Current Stats I'm currently 136-139.5, depending on the time of day. I keep forgetting to weigh myself in the morning. Hips - 40.5" Waist - 29.5" Goal - To be into the 120's by Christmas. This is about a pound a week, which I think is completely doable. |
I'm joining.
I keep saying I will start exercise, but I NEVER do. So tomorrow, NOV 1, I will begin the 30 day shred. My problem is I stay up too late at night and then I am too tired the next day to pop in a video. Going to bed as soon as I type this! Starting weight: 135 when not retaining water. Hoping to get into the 120's by the middle of November which is a huge goal for me since I have been in the 130's for months! |
nelia No way! I first went to Elsewhere in 2007 and it was totally different from the most recent time I went (2010). I think it's changed a lot. Crazy that there are two locations! What do you do in Cambodia?
ange Your bike tour sounds AMAZING. I would love to do something like that. I think have actually been to Koh Chang- it's kind of near BKK right? What a cool trip. ange & crimson I work in international democracy & human rights. I worked a bit overseas, then was in Washington DC for 2 years but traveled to Asia and back for trips. Now I live in India, but for my fiance's job, not mine :). I kind of have to find work here and there to do. It keeps things interesting. I seriously loved my life in PP- I lived right opposite the National Museum and worked near Russian Market. I loved looking over sunset in PP, going to the markets on the weekends, and running around Independence Monument after late-afternoon monsoons. And karaoke parties with Khmer coworkers. And lychee and mangosteens. And prahoc (sorry, I love it!). Oh man now I"m SUPER nostalgic for Cambodia!! Oh and those silly expat restaurants... Tamarind was where my fiance and I had our first date :). We met at a mutual friend's party and.. erm... "got together" for the first time in Siem Reap lol. Did the summer fling thing and then traveled together for a week to Vietnam and Laos. Both went back to the US and he wanted to actually date... so we did... and here we are 3 years later. I guess what happens in Cambodia doesn't necessarily stay in Cambodia. :) |
Oh yeah, 137 today. Almost to the lower 130s!

Total Number of Days : 2 127.2 pounds 23.0 points (love after-IF weigh ins!) |
@indiblue I own a manufacturing firm here. And I couldn't agree more about mankoot. Mangosteens are nature's cupcakes. Those suckers are tasty! How do you find India in comparison?
@jingabooty and @kifli. Welcome! |
Nelia -- love your avatar, it's gorgeouso.

Oh gals, I'm on a roll...down another pound to 136!
|
Hi! I'm backk. LOL It was a long few days with Halloween craziness with the kiddos. Phew..no candy eaten. Feeling good. :) I'm still wavering between 130.0 and 131.5. Just can't break 130!!
I've been feeling faint during my workouts for the past 2 weeks, like I'm not eating enough. That has never happened before and I had to stop in the middle yesterday b/c I just couldn't think straight. :( I don't get it, though. I eat clean 1500-1700 cals now and workout for an hour 3-5x a week. That is NOT crazy. I'm eating more than ever, and working out less frequently, but much more intensely, I guess. I just hate to add calories. Sigh. |
Hey ladies!
So I was a little bad on Halloween. First time I've drank alcohol since July though, and I ate very little during the day to make room for chocolate and chips. I got another awful migrane (been getting these a lot) yesterday, which kept me in bed literally all day. Didn't work out, ate junk food, and slept a lot. This morning I felt much better and did day 9 of level 3 for the 30 Day Shred, so only one day left until I'm officially done the program, yahoo! Even better, the scale told me 132.8 this morning. It's been sitting at 134.2 for ages now, and I sooo hope that this might be accurate. I'm half a pound until I'm considered a healthy BMI (which I still think is so absurd, since I don't feel overweight at all). I also have two jobs at the moment, but this might be narrowed down to one after I tell my 1st job I got a 2nd one in about an hour, eep. Chocolate store and now a bakery - I just think it's magic that I've managed to lose any weight given those circumstances alone. Welcome all the new 130's ladies, and congrats to all you girls in the 120's who still pop in once in a while. I dream of joining you shortly ^_^ Oh, and I made a mini goal a while ago to be 60kg by my next birthday (February 27th), when I get my new driver's license. That would be 132 lbs, so I'm essentially there. The weight on my last license says 66.4kg (146 lbs). To be under 60kg would be pretty awesome :D |
Fayve- I am anxiously awaiting a new license, too. I need a new Military ID, which is what I use more and THAT one looks atrocious. It says "155" which was big, fat lie. LOL I'm waiitng to get my new one, but it should be very soon!

ChickieChicks, do you think your lightheadedness could be from something else? Maybe ... not enough water during the day, too long since your last meal/snack (low blood sugar), not enough sleep, fighting off an illness? Of course, you may just be burning a ton of calories during your hour long workout, draining all your readily available energy stored. Perhaps a balanced snack right before working out and/or an energy drink during the workout would help? Hopefully, you'll figure it out. That lost dizzy feeling is always scary. I had a good day today. I almost gave up at lunchtime when I decided to have a couple pieces of halloween candy. I had convinced myself I had "ruined everything" and that I might as well give up for the day. Unfortunately, I fight this mindset all too often. Instead of giving up, I put the calories into my food log and found out I was just fine calorie wise. I finished the day within my calorie range (just over 1400 cals). Exercise wise I walked for an hour this morning with my son, and this evening, my husband and I went to the gym. There I did a combination of walking, weights, and jump rope for a total of about 45 minutes. Tomorrow ... more fruits and veggies, more water, and a run! I hope everyone is doing well. |
Still here ladies; weight went up two pounds for no apparent reason. How weird is that? But I guess it happens all the time when you're a daily weigh-er. Anyway I guess I'll be here at least another week. Stay on plan, friends!

@Nelia, mmmm, Mangosteens! Had my first ones last year in Indonesia.
After a horrific weight gain from 105-165 (!!!!!!) in six months (don't ask...) I'm almost down to 135 and find I can run again, albeit slowly. The best exercise for me! But going from an A cup to a D+ cup, the front floppage prevented me until now. I'm taking my A cups and regular wardrobe out of mothballs -- I'm getting back into the zone. For anyone who's weighed what many of you have....it must seem impossible to get to a weight so much higher. I always wondered how really big people got that way. Well, now I know! If I hadn't stopped, I'd be approaching 200. |
OUT OF THE 130s. When I hit Day 33 (or I hit the 110s), I'm moving on to the 120s!)
Total Number of Days : 5 124.4 pounds (Crazy!) 24.8 points |
@crimsons Aren't those suckers tasty?
I don't know if it's wrong that I laughed, but I do feel your pain re the "front floppage". And yeah. Insidious weight gain can quickly become monumental if we don't stay present! Thank goodness for 3FC and a scale with diminishing returns! |
