Goooodddd Morning Feathers!

Sorry Ive been MIA latley. Just so much going on and a lot less dieting I havent read all of the previous posts but I am glad to see everyone still on here and giving their weight loss a fair chance during the Holidays - so admirable.

Up to 131.4 this morning due to a ridiculous 5 days off plan - lots of binge eating. No biggie. I am not going to sabatoge myself. I plan on doing super well this week so I can get back down to my previous weight for New Years. Then a fresh new start after that!

Hope everyone had a great Holiday and is ready for the new year

I went to visit family over the weekends so I haven't had a chance to fill everyone in on my progress.

I met my goal!! I weighed in on Christmas morning at just under 147lbs (146.8 actually). I had seen 147 on the scale 2-3 times that week so I was pretty sure I would meet my goal and I did!! So now the challenge is to lose 7-8 pounds for February 14th!

I'm 130lbs, 5'0", I eat 1,200 calories, plus any calories I burn through exercising. (So if I burn 350 cals at the gym, I'll eat 1,550 calories that day.) I make sure to eat at least 48 grams of protein. I'm taking a multivitamin every day, and omega-3s. How does this sound? I worry that at 130lbs, I can't lose on 1,200 calories.
I think this was mentioned already, but don't eat back your calories. If you eat 1200 and burn 350, you don't want to increase your daily caloric intake by the amount you burned, otherwise you'll just maintain. Which will be awesome when you hit your goal, but is not what you want to do if you want to lose right now.

You probably want to do a Google search for a RMR (resting metabolic rate) calculator, get your RMR, then find out how many calories you burn during a typical workout. Decide how fast you want to lose weight (e.g. one pound a week) and make sure you get a 3500 calorie deficit to lose that pound at the rate you want.

Well, the move is over with and with Christmas FINALLY behind us, I'm hoping to get back on track. You girls really help me to keep mindful of my goals and I have missed this place!

Unfortunately, I've gained over the past 2 months. I've just gone off the deep end with eating everything sweet in sight. I'm guessing about 8-10 pounds I can't believe I sabotaged myself this way. This is the first non-pregnant weight gain of this magnitude in my life and I'm just disgusted with myself.

My husband finally goes back to work tomorrow so that should make it easier to get back on track. It's so hard when there's the social eating factor thrown in yk? Then the kids going back to school after new years will be even better.

I'm planning on starting back on fast-5 and starting the 30 day shred over again. I'm excited and ready to be back in control. I hate the totally out of control feeling I have had lately. I'm trying not to be too hard on myself or dwell on it and just move on.

Can't wait to read up and see what you've all been up to!

I'm sorry that I can't do personals tonight, I have to wake up early for work tomorrow. Just had to hold myself accountable by writing that I gave in to late-night cravings...and then some I swear, carbs are like crack. I'm really disappointed in myself right now.

I really didn't notice my tendency to binge until starting this journey, so I guess if anything I'm at least learning a lot about my body in the process.

Here's to a fresh start tomorrow, I guess!

Good morning!

Lillylover- It happens to the best of us. I swear I had no idea I did it either. I always imagined a binge as someone sitting on their kitchen floor covered in ice cream and surrounded by food doing it garfield style. lol Apparently, if done correctly you can binge without even noticing. I'm glad you recognized it and didn't let it go on. That's awesome!

LL and Changed: Don't beat yourselves up over it. Few among us has stayed immune to the siren song of the holiday sweets! I'm trying to remain kind to myself about food things until Saturday.

Here's my problem today, though. I can't get up on time on Tuesdays. Every other day of the week, I'm popping out of bed at 5 or 5:15 at the latest, but something about Tuesdays does me in. I don't have the oomph of Mondays or the hopefulness about the end of the week that starts to creep in along Wednesday. Tuesday is just bleh. Do I need to get myself one of those alarm clocks that rolls away from you until you turn it off? I work out in the morning, so failing to get up on time just throws my whole day off!

Hello ladies!

I just posted all this in the wrong thread (D'oh, facebooking and chatting online and chatting to my fiancee in person don't allow me to make the most sense!)

Sooo, I can officially say i've gotten through the holidays without gaining!!! I've been back down to 140.2 and 140.4 the last 2 days, and I was only up to 141.0 anyway and that was TOM.

YAAAY ME!

The best part is, I've been eating a pretty normal diet, ie - not sticking to 1500 calories, eating snacks when I am hungry, drinking wine a few times a week, not going totally crazy but definitely eating a lot more, so I am thinking my metabolism is revving up and hoping that when I drop down to 1500 calories again I will start to lose again. Through November/December I am only down 3 lbs. But I did a whole lotta cheating on and off in there. The beginning of November I was spot on 1500 calories and NO LOSES. SO frustrating. So if I can manage to start to lose again I will be so happy.

We'll see, I also made it back to the gym to run yesterday. On vacation from work this week, when I am back at work Monday the "diet" starts again.

That's s awesome Wildflower! I admire your dedication so much.

Good morning everyone 133 this morning but I had chinese for dinner last night. I stayed on plan all day and felt great. I'm amazed how easily my body takes to a return to fasting. No hunger at all. Love fast5 <3

I've got a wicked cold and my chest hurts so much when I cough. I don't think I'll be able to do the shred today but I bought the set on dvd yesterday so I can start it when I'm well.

Goal this week- back into the 120's by Monday morning WI.

Changed - I'm off work this week so I have been sleeping until noon each day despite going to bed around midnight. How is your cold? I hope you feel better soon!

Ashley - I don't exercise as much as I maybe should or even every day. Generally I take a 90 minute yoga class twice a week and I try to make it to the gym to run 3 times per week. Although the last few months I've sort of given up on running with this cold weather so I am trying to get back into it. I walk 2 miles a day as I live in an urban area, that's my main exercise along with yoga.

I woke up and weighed in at 139.4 this morning! Dehydration or did I finally break 140? OMG, I have no idea but seeing that number on the scale is pretty motivating. And I almost didn't weigh in this morning because my ring is swollen on.

Hello Feathers!
I am happy to say that I made it through the holidays with no weight gain, but I didn't lose any either. I got married on the 11th, and now I am super motived at get in great shape for my honeymoon which is coming up in March. Also seeing my sister in law who lost 19 lbs. by being gluten and lactose intolerant has shaken me up a bit and I am more determined than ever.

My biggest celebration, though (besides my marriage) is this: I FINALLY kicked my soda habit!!! I never thought it was possible! I switched to diet (which I hate) and that got me off the sugar. After that it was really easy to switch to green tea and zevia soda (all natural and sweetened with stevia--basically a fizzy tea). My coworker says that dropping soda guarantees a 10 lb. weight loss, and I hope she is right. I am eating very well--tons of veggies and egg whites, beans and rice! I have been running 5 miles a day or hitting the gym for weights. I hope I can ride this motivation until March (and hopefully it sticks from here on out!)
Yippee!!
