Default Planning and Chat June 28-July 4th

Another week and we are ending this one with the U.S. Independence Day Celebration (probably not a favorite for those in the U.K. ).

Let's all do our best to eat in moderation at the BBQs and fireworks.

Happy Weekend

onesullengurl - 4th is going to be really hard for me too!

Kimberly - I am glad you did well with the office food invasion. I love what you shared about exercise.

spoz- two weeks you say? awesome job.

Silverstar33 - hope you get some de-stressing time in this weekend.

Well, I did a 40 minute power walk this morning. I am very worried about how I will do when we are in Wisconsin later this week (Thursday- Monday) for the 4th. My current plan is to walk every day this week leading up to our trip.

Also my weigh in day this week will need to be Wednesday.

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if I could join your group. I've been posting on 3FC for a couple of days now, and spoz suggested I jump in here. I am so ready to lose this weight. I guess it's time. I can't use the I just had a baby excuse anymore since he will be 2 this September.
My MIL just planned a grillin and pool party for the 4th. I will have to be strong too. I also joined DailyPlate yesterday. Wow what an eye opener. I had no idea I was eating that many calories a day!!!!

Leigh - I'm sure you'll do fine! With that extra walking before you go I'm sure you can stay sensible and level headed!

Poly - You can do it!

Mom - Course you're welcome! Grande to see ya here Calories is a great way to go about weight loss too!

I'm doing pretty well, On plan, and for some strange reason there is nil desire to much or overeat. (there's a first for everything?) Also my binge food used to be cereal and I would usually eat 5 bowls a day and was quite positive about being an addict. But of lately... I'm starting to go off it It's so strange! Anyway, heres to hoping I keep this up

Hope all you chicks had a good healthy weekend!

I did horrible today , I was depressed and lacked the motivation to care I won't even go into details ( yes it was that bad ) stupid food............

On a more happy note ... I have heard a very wise saying many of times on 3fc ... " one day will not ruin EVERYTHING" and also ....

there is always tomorrow and the next day and next day right????..

I will do this eventually ... I just cant expect to change my bad habbits over night .... ( not 100% anyways)

hey feathers! i'm back after another absenteeism - shockingly, even after all the ice cream binging (yes, i have a problem with that... ice cream, cereal, and bread) i weighed 132 this morning. maybe i was a little dehydrated - but still i know that i have not GAINED weight and that was super motivating for me. when i stopped weighing i was around 134-136. i think i'm going to start weighing every morning again - i am hopeful that i am currently comfortable enough with my body image to do that without letting the number dictate my feelings for the day. if that starts to happen, i'll just have to stop for a bit.

welcome to mercermom! i started logging on thedailyplate yesterday as well and so far i'm really liking it. it's better for me than trying to mentally keep tabs or estimate calories on paper. hopefully i'll stick with it!

leigh - keep walking and i'm sure you'll be fine. =)

spoz, cereal is a HUGE binge food for me, too, so i really hope your indifference to it sticks around! and please pass that my way if it does!!

sullengirl, there's always tomorrow and i also like to remind myself that there's always RIGHT NOW. i tend to blow entire days or longer at a time, and sometimes it helps for me to take things to the minute - not to say "i'll be better tomorrow," but "i'll stop NOW." of course the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak......good luck to you.

Hi all,
Well on the positive side, I managed to work A LOT of exercise in on Saturday (10 miles walking, 5 miles biking and an hour lifting weights). Unfortunately, also managed to work in a mean fight with the fiance. He made a couple of comments that hurt. I need to get past the hurt to think about whether there's any merit to them.

This week I have two goals: one hour of exercise everyday and no cheating until Friday.

Here's to a new week and a fresh start!

poly- I am sorry things are off lately for you

MercerMom - welcome.

spoz- that is truly amazing! How wonderful for you - maybe the urge to binge has less power over you now.

chickenmonkey - hello!

onesullengurl- I hope today is a new one for you.

Iris- WTG with the loss!

Silverstar33 - fights with loved ones are awful Hope things get back on track with you both.

DH had to work today. So DS and I will be heading to the grocery store in a bit.

DH and I had a date night last night - we went to dinner with a couple friend of ours and the food was incredible. I allowed myself some extra points for the occasion, so I am hoping I did not go too overboard.

Onesulllengirl - it's okay. you're right one day won't ruin everything. Sounds like you have good focus!! I hope today was better!!

Iris - how awesome! good for you!

Silver - I think that's impressive. Things get hard for me and I just want to veg. I like your motivation to push you exercise. That's such a healthy way to cope. I'll be taking some pointers from you!!

Leigh - What great planning with the extra points!!!

Last night I jumped right back on the plan eating grilled steak, with rice, salad and two mini artichokes with a lemon dill dressing. It was yummy and filling!! Then this morning I woke up with some new found energy. I weighed myself, I do this once a week. No change. But, that's understandable last week was pretty bad. I came downstairs and prepared my breakfast on plan, turkey patty and rice with a cup of oatmeal and cold iced cup of hibiscus tea. And after I'll be exercising!! I'm looking forward to today and the rest of the week.

Oh silver I'm sorry to hear that - I hope you work things out

And sullen I can totally relate. I've had an awful day and I've just constantly ate - Thankfully I didn't go crazy, but I suspect it wasn't a wise move to pull. My step-father has also been in a really crappy mood all weekend so the household atmosphere has just been horrendous. Any way, new week beginning tomorrow so hopefully a better start!

Happy Sunday Ladies,

I am doing the best I can to fight the urge to feel sorry for myself. That is always my downfall. It's so hard because DH wants me to loose, heck he wants to loose himself, but what does he do this morning....let's have pancakes kids....then just a minute ago he said where we going to eat tonight. He loves to eat and makes it such a big deal. It so early in the game for me (just really started getting serious again Friday) it is so easy to loose track. I only have 540 cals left to eat for the rest of the day and I am ravenous. I did well at lunch, no bread and no dessert. But I am starving. This sucks!!!!!

I'm excited to say I not only hit my goal of 145 lbs by the end of June, I also went shopping for pants and fit perfectly into two size 8's and one size 6!!!

This may sound stupid, but I was really worried my size hadn't changed even after losing 20+ lbs. I mean, who the heck knows to what extreme I'd pushed those size 10's?

I had a wake up call back in November when I tried on wedding gowns. I was able to try on the dresses in the store, but was shocked when the size they recommended for me was a 14. The whole "Don't worry dear, you're very buxom" only does so much to comfort. I managed to keep hitting the snooze on that call until February, when I really seriously started trying to bring down the weight.

Anyway, here's to small victories!

Thank you, Leigh. It was an unpleasant fight, but we were laughing again by the end of the evening. We don't fight often, but it tends to be nuclear when we do. I've joked with friends that it isn't that we've never broken up, I'll break up with him, but he doesn't leave, and next thing you know, things are fine. Relationships sure are weird.

Chickenmonkey - thanks for the kudos, but the only time the whole "I'm freaking out, so I'm going to exercise like a nut" thing works for me is on the weekend. Usually in conjunction with the "OMG it's only 2:00, have I really eaten *that* much??!!!".

Spoz, don't beat yourself up. It's so hard on those bad days, especially when the environment is working against you, too. You've got the right attitude, let's get off to a great Monday!

Iris - the day is young, I'm sure you and the BF will burn off some of that ice cream! We were lucky enough to have a gorgeous day today, hopefully in your neck of the woods the outdoors are a calling, too.

MercerMom, I know you'll come out on top. Remember, starting is the hardest part, and keep in mind how great your going to feel when it really starts to pay off. I personally love eating, especially going out with the fiance and making an evening of it. I'll never be able to part ways with food, I'm trying to manage the balance so that more often than not, I'm staying on plan. Even if today doesn't work out the way you'd like, you always get to start again tomorrow.
