Just to add another dimension to this: sometimes a diet slump is telling you that you're *too much* in a routine. Try substituting out a few of the "tired" foods on your diet plan and finding a new standby recipe. Experiment with new grains or new spices. Visit your local farmer's market and try a new vegetable.
Or, find a new and fun physical activity that's a challenge or just different. If you've always wanted to do the couch-to-5K program, now is a great time to start. Once the school startup craziness is over, I'm going to try climbing at my gym's rock wall just for a change of pace and to stave off the 2 month slump. Another idea: join a club devoted to your favorite sport and meet new people who can help you stay motivated.
