Default Questions about phase 1

Hi,

I think I am taking the plunge! I need to start somewhere so I think I am going to give this a try, I read online and saw people are getting results if they can stick to it!

Few questions,
You are allowed to have all the fruits and veggies you want, so if you make a salad are you not allowed any dressing? If you are what kind?

Also, I assume no butter etc, on veggies? lol hey it was worth a try.

Thanks for the help, I just want to make sure I have it all right before I go to the grocery store!

Any added info I would be grateful for!

Hi Tinamarie -

You can eat all the fruits and vegetables you want. The one thing that has helped me is being able to eat brown rice and beans (black beans, kidney, chickpeas). I made hummus with the chickpeas (used no oil) and at it with raw vegetables. Also, I used Dr Ian's recipe for the grilled vegetables and dressing last night and it was delicious!

You are right, NO BUTTER! I use a vegetable steamer instead of boiling and I think the veggies taste better. As for your salads -- try a little balsamic vineager.

And remember, it's not just fruits and veggies! Let me know if you have any other questions. I start phase two on Thursday!

Take care,
Bonnie Jean

Hi,

The book says that you are allowed 3 tablespoons of low fat dressing on your salads in phase 1.

to me, i can't use 3 tblspoons of dressing, it's just too much, so i only use 2. a really good light dressing is the wishbone light olive oil balsamic vinegarette - i love it!
good luck!

On my salads or even steamed/grilled veggies I've been using the new Wishbone salad sprays. It's only 1 calorie per spray and I find the recommended 10 sprays to be more than enough for about 2 cups of salad.

Hello!

Well good Luck on Phase I, I am finishing up Phase I....today is my last day

You are allowed a bit of olive oil, and I find this very helpful when grilling my veggies, so they dont stick!

Good Luck!!
