Wifey~ Congrats thats awesome! Keep up the good work!
Jill~ Thanks for sharing the website and book, I checked out the website and it has a lot of useful information. The book sounds pretty interesting too. Yesterday my son and I set out for a walk and I gave him two options, one was a local park, one was to grandma and grandpa's. The park isn't really a kid park though nothing to do for kids really so he decided he wanted to walk across town to the next town over and go to their park. I tried to talk him out of it but he was determined he could do it, so we set out on our journey. We live in a small town and roundtrip I would say it's probably roughly 5 miles, and very hilly. He made it and played at the park when we got there, what a trooper. Have a great day ladies and thanks for the encouragement! :carrot: |
I just typed a long message and lost the whole thing somehow!! I am truly annoyed!! Anyways today is Day 8 for me!!
Jill: Thanks for the info . I also post on the FS forum. The FAQ that you posted is also here on 3FC as a sticky. Are you planning to do P1 for the whole 9 days? Do you find the pudding affects your weight loss? Do you eat the smae amoutn of pudding as yogurt is allowed? How is p2 anyways? How much do you lose? Chubby: That is awesome that you went home and still lost!! What phase are you in? Ralu: :welcome: Your recipe sounds good. For P1 you could try it with yogurt but by P2 you can go back to cottage cheese. ManDY: 5 miles is quite impressive!! How old is your son? |
Good Morning Ladies,
I weighed in this morning, because today is day 1 of Phase 1 again. 173.5. I have passed the dreaded 174.5 plataeu that has plagued me for ever. Again THANKYOU ALL for the encouragement to start back over and keep trying. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all of you and your support. I bought a wedding dress yesterday, and today have buyers remorse. I'm complelty second guessing myself, so I am headed out one more time to try on another dress to see if its worth it. The problem is I have to return the one I bought! I bought it last night and paid cash so hopefully there won't be too much drama. I hope you all have a wonderful day. I'll try to post tonight with my menu for the day. My mini goal as of last night was 14 lbs by April 30. With this mornings weigh in I am into by a whole lb. Yay 13 to go. |
Oh yeah, to keep track of everything and not lose sight of the big picture, I added the mini goal tracker and changed the other one to show that I don't want to settle at 160.
145 is still my objective. |
Hey everyone! Seems to be you are all doing well!!! I myself am getting sick of walking and CAN'T WAIT for the gym on campus to be open normal hours after spring break ends (on Monday, my BIRTHDAY!) I think I am obsessed with the eliptical (I usually do 4 miles!!) .... anyways.
I am really excited. I think I may get off extreme and do regular fat smash like most of you seem to be doing. As I said before, I have both books. Can you all tell me your successes with the regular? How much weight did you lose and on which phase? And what about the detox phase, how did that go for you? I have thought about some goals today. By the weight I lost, the way I work out they seem doable. Typically I lose weight really quick... which is nice. Perfect example is losing 2 lbs from Friday-Wednesday without doing the diet but watching what I was eating. Which is nice. I may adjust them. I based them on past experiences (I always dieted, but didn't work out as much as I am now). Anyways, I would really love if you give me some more ideas about regular. And let me know how it personally worked. Extreme is great, but I think that regular seems to be working great for you all. Let me know so I can make some choices, it just seems that there are more options on the first. I will talk to you all soon. Oh and 2 beautiful. I lost 8 lbs on week one of EFS and the other 2 lbs were just from eating home cooked food in wisconsin, but watching the amount and walking around everyday. Can't wait to hear from you all! |
2Beautiful~ I plan on looking into the french women don't get fat book, thanks for the recommendation. I started spring break today so I should have some free time. And also my son is 8 years old :)
Kari~ YAY! Good luck! Wifey~ Personally, I am about 3 1/2 weeks into smashing and as of last Sunday when I weighed I had lost 12 lbs total. That was also with limited exercise due to weather and a thyroid problem, so I was shocked by this honestly. I have definitely stepped up my exercise this week, it has gotten much nicer out, the only thing is I'm soo much hungrier, lol. But I think I have done fairly well, lol. I will weigh on Sunday and see for sure. |
Hello everyone!!!! Im on my 3rd day of phase to and find it to be the same as phase 1.......does anyone agree!!?? I dont know.....im sure im losing weight its just that im scared to et on a scale....hahahahaha!!! I'll eventually get over my fear someday but i bust my behind in the gym 3 hours a day 4 days a week, so i ought to be losing something, right!!?? Anyways, kep up the good work everyone!!!!
|
RaluCat... Yeah oats are great! Let us know when you start :) It's crazy how we sometimes gain after eating the right amount of calories! Sometimes it's certain foods that make you gain. Do you check the fat and sodium in the foods to? Maybe it's something to do with that :)
Wifey... Good job on your loss!!!! Yayyyyy :cheer2: So on P1 of fat smash, which I started in maybe the 2nd week of feb. I lost 10 lbs... in 9 days... Feb 1st I was 186lbs... and as of right now I'm 168lbs. Since March 1st I've maintained but only lost 1lb. Unfortunatley I did have a mess up involved and havn't exercised NEAR as much as I should have! But I;m back on track! =) Mandy... That's soooo awesome about your walk!!! And so cool your son was a lil trooper =) 12lbs so far GREAT job! :) 2BEautiful... basically P2 introduces a few more foods, you arn't suppose to have pudding until P2, and it introduces cereal and meat back into your diet. I'm not sure weight loss wise since I messed up hardcore a few days there... I'm going to basically do P1 for 9 days again... as best possible, but just not as crazy about sticking exactly to plan. I'm going to try really hard though =) Dlish..... It is very similar to Phase1 but you get meat and cereal lol you have to slowly bring back foods... AWESOME job on how much yu workout! Get on that scale girl! :) Kari.... Yay, pound by pound we make it to victory ;) Keep us informed on the wedding dress! Well today and yesterday were great days :) I got a lot done and watched 2 really good movies, went on a walk, and did 30 mins of my elliptical. :cheer2: I'm determined to do 30mins on my elliptical for at least 6 days a week until it's easier, from now on. I like walking a lot better, and get so bored staying in one place but I spent too much on my elliptical to let it get spider webs. So that's my goal this month! I watched 'Dan in Real Life' and 'Awake'... both I thought were good. Dan in real life very cute with family, love and comedy.... awake was a good psychological movie. Food: BF: Banana Oatmeal S: Sobe 10calorie Energy drink (can't have on P1 but like I said I'm not going to be as hardcore ;) ) L: Vegetable Soup S: Grapes D: Boca burger wrapped in lettuce with onion, tomato, pickles, cucumbers and dijonaise Sweet Potato Fries By the way my dinner was soooo goood! My mom and I bought all the stuff for dinner and cooked it together, she got some really healthy buns 100cal each and said it was silly I wasn't using one.... but believe me mine was just as good with no bun!! ACtually to die for good. ;) Mmmmm... |
DLISH~ I think phase two is very similar, but do enjoy the cereal we are allowed too have now, and the occasional chicken, even though I myself really liking the morning star products I tried and continue using those really:) Just remember working out that much you will need to consume more calories to keep your body fueled so that it can continue to lose.
Jill~ Your dinner does sound very good... I'm heading to the store I may keep it in mind. I am pretty much taking today off, still eating good, but not doing much of anything else. My son had a soccer game this morning, which they lost, and it was raining and only 40 degrees out. Pretty gross. Gave Devin (my son) a haircut and we need to go to the store, other than that we are just enjoying our first day of spring break. We may go get some movies too.:D Hope everyone is having a great weekend :carrot: |
Hello ladies :) Today went to mom's house watched some movies and did 'Sweatin to the Oldies with Richard Simmons' with my mom and sister. It was so funny! We did the whole hour and laughed a lot! It was harder than we thought ;) but we are use to walking so something different is always a little tougher.
Food: BF: Oatmeal L: Soup & left over sweet potato fries S: Banana D: Veggie Fajita (lots of broccoli, red/green bell pepper, onion all in fajita seasoning- wrapped in 50cal w/w tortilla) So my calories were all low. The only 'mess up' was the tortilla but it was small & 50cal- the only thing I couldn't substitute. So very happy about my day! |
Good luck Kari! I'm sure you''ll do great and I don't think you'll have a problem with the dress, your a bride how can they refuse you!!
Chubby I am on day 1 of phase 2 and phase 1 was good for me. I didn't really feel deprived or anything. I lost 7 lbs in the 9 days and TOM arrived on day 8. Really I lost 7 in 7 cause once TOM hit the scene I basically didn't lose anymore. Chubby, looks like we have very similar goals and are about the same weight!! Good luck! I haven't thought about when I hope to hit my final goal but in looking at your goals I hope I can make it their by that time too that would be amazing!! But I am going on vacation in august so who knows. Anyways I'm interested to hear how much people are losing on phase 2! |
I had a bad weekend!1 It was Dh's b-day and ate cake and I'm on P1!!!! But I stilllost 7 lbs total for P1 so I am not too upset and TOM arrived on Friday!! I'm getting back on track today and starting P2 but if I don't see the scale move tomorrow I am maybe going back to P1. I'll see.
ManDy : let me knwo what you think of the book. DLISH: Have you weighed in yet? Jill: In P2 you can have pudding? I don't see that in the bok but I know there are different versions of the book out. Or did you get that from the website? Good for you not eating the bun!! I would have caved!! |
Jill~ Sounds like you guys had a good time!
2Beautiful~ I sure will let you know, and 7 lbs is awesome. Congrats! Keep up the good work. And so far on phase two I have lost roughly 7 lbs. and I'm about 2 1/2 weeks into it. I didn't have the best weekend myself, allowed myself a thing or two that are "not allowed". I don't think I overdid it though so I'm just going to keep on keeping on. I weighed myself today for my weekly weigh in and I lost 3 lbs, very excited. This week is spring break for my son and I though and I have a feeling my eating will not be so great. There is a trip to Chuck E Cheese in the works, a trip to the movies and another one of my sons favorite resteraunts. I have already made the decision to just do my best but not beat myself up if I don't do well next week. Hopefully we can get out and do a lot of moving. But if the scale doesn't move, I will do phase one for a week again to get myself back on track. Happy smashing everyone! |
Hi, Girls!
Hello! I'm on Day 7 of FS. I just found your chat and want to be in on it! I've been "dieting" for my entire life, but seriously for the past year. I haven't been on the scale too much, since it doesn't always move too fast for me, but I have dropped a bunch of dress sizes, size 22 dress for my best friend's wedding last May, and now a size 14 for my sister's wedding this June! :carrot:
I decided to do the FS since it just makes so much sense to me. Eat right, work out, and you'll lose weight. Isn't that what they've been telling us for years? And it's really not difficult like it has been trying to drink the Slimfast shakes, taking the pills, etc. :( Thank you for setting up this forum, so we can stick together. Even though friends mean well, they don't always get it when they're not going through it. I'm impressed by you all, so hopefully it will keep me on track, too! Looking forward to be healthier, and hopefully skinnier, this summer! |
ManDY that is good to hear that you keep losing in P2 I'm so scared of all the new foods!! Enjoy your spring break! I also have something coming up this weekend that may veer me off plan so I'm planning to stay OP for the whole week so I can give myself a small treat on Friday. But only if I lose 2 lbs this week. But with TOM who knows what will happen!
:welcome: Annie You sound like you have made amazing progress!! What plan were you doing before? I'm also new to FS. I'm on Day 1 of P2!! Check out the rest of the forum too, there are also lots of challenges. I find the challenges really help me stay on track! |
2BEAUTIFUL...... It said on the website you can have 1 srv. of sugar free fat free pudding. I buy the 60 cal packs at the store and dip my apple slices in. Mmmm... Wonderful job on your weight loss!!!! Woohooo :)
MANDY.... :cheer2: 3 lbs you go girl!! I know you can stay on track! Everyone messes up once in awhile! :dust: ANNIE.... :welcome: Congrats on going from a 22 to size 14!!!!!!! That's a HUGE accomplishment! When that happened to me I was ecstatic!!! How are you doing on FS so far? What have you been eating? Day7 that's great!! |
I think I am going to buy some of those puddings! I'm just afraid I may eat to much so I will wait until TOM is finished!
|
Mmm I just had some really yummy yogurt. It was Weight Watchers White Chocolate Raspberry Yogurt 100cal... it was sooooo good!
|
:welcome3: Annie... Congrats on the weightloss so far, you are an inspiration :) This is a wonderful group of girls, I'm glad I found them.
Jill ~ Thanks for the willpower, I'll take it with me everywhere I go this week. 2Beautiful~ I too was scared of adding new foods on phase 2 I am still adding some as I see I can still lose. My son and I went for a walk again today, he's been really into it lately. He takes his scooter so I get to keep up a decent pace which is nice. For breakfast today I had a fiber one bar and skim milk, For lunch I had beans and rice and veggies ( and a couple cookies) Haven't really snacked today which is normally when I do my fruit, but the dreaded cramps are settling in, which makes sense now as to why I could not resist temptations this week. I'm actually suprised I haven't done worse than I did since this is the case. For dinner I plan to have a salad, maybe some tuna on it and some kind of fruit. Suppose to rain the next three days here, so I guess I will have to trek down to the gym :ebike:. :thanks: to all you ladies, you really are all great motivators! :D |
Mandy - you are doing good and i like that you are allowing yourself to enjoy life but not get completely off the FS plan. one day at time right?
Annie - Welcome and congrats all at the same time. it's great here on our little thread. Great to have you! Jill - i have sweatin to the oldies! I would have to dust the box off but I have it! I also have the deal a meal cards. FS is much easier! and sorry i didn't get back to you earlier - i was in the city again and drank and FS says no so i started again today and we can do this!!! let's do 5 strict days of P1. Deal? Anyone else that might be on P2 if you wanna join us - Monday thru Friday? on the workout tape note - does anyone have the carmen electra striptease one? i've heard it's good and challenging but i don't know which one to buy? I weigh in tomorrow and it'll be like the lax 13th day of FS. I say lax b/c remember those cereal days and the beer and i had chicken salad one day and i have bacon bits on my salad and feta cheese - you get the point i haven't been strict but we'll see what it says. I need to get a ticker thing but not sure how to do all that?! good luck this week girls! btw...lettuce sandwiches sound good! i bet you could do that with the fajita veggies too!:p |
ManDy: I had a cheese string today and 1/2 c of dry cereal and that is as adventurous as I got with P2 foods. That is great that you are exercising with your son. My daughter and I just finished a kickboxing video. She is 7!
Today was a good day for me B- orange and cheese string L- sweet potato fries, green bean and egg salad. S- strawberries and grapes & 1/2 c honey nut cheerios D- blueberry yogurt I'll probably have a snack before bed but it will be grapes. Lisa good luck with P1 |
? - so do you have to go in and do the ticker thing all over again each time you update your weight?
|
SMASH THAT FAT GIRLS!
MANDY... Aww your so sweet :) You made me smile! & you're welcome! That's so awesome your son is like your lil partner! Way cool. LISA... Haha you should bring out the video, it was fun, I saw my friend do the Carmen Electra strip tease I'm pretty sure it was the first one.. and it looked FUN ;) But yes 5 days strict P1... I'M IN! :exercise: :dust: BTW Good luck on your weigh in! 2BEAUTIFUL... Great job on the food today! :) You're doing sooo great! It's awesome when you get the family in on exercise :) :exercise: Today's menu: BF: Oatmeal S: Yogurt L: Beans D: Artichoke w/lil honey mustard Might have some fruit or veggie's for snack if I get hungry later. :) |
No.....i havent weighed myself yet!!! I will tomorrow and I promise I will let you know!!!! Last night i actually went to bed starving and i hate that feeling. I tried to eat some fruit but i've been eating it for weeks, so to look at it wasnt fun!!!! I ended up eating 6 whole wheat crackers and fgelt so bad about it. Then i thought to myself that it could have been chips or candy-cuz, i looooove candy- but i'll work a lil extra at the gym.
bf----1 1/2 cups of Total and 1 cup of fat free milk snack-6 oz. cup of yogurt and some fruit lunch--fruit snack--another yogurt dinner-broiled lean ground beef patty and some corn im coming along but dammit i dont like that hungry feeling at all!!!!! |
Thanks Lisa... one day at a time is right... and I'll just try to make the better of the not so good choices ;) Good luck to you and Jill on your 5 days, I know you both can do it. I have always wanted to try one of those Carmen Electra videos, if anyone does one they will have to let me know how it goes. Way to go 2Beautiful, gradually add things back in, that's basically the idea anyway. Or at least how I see it. That's great that your daughter does kickboxing with you, my son would love that too, but I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough to do it :D Everytime I go to the gym and have to take him with me, he wants to do something. It's a really small gym and if we are there alone, I let him get out a step or something and finds things to do to feel like he is "working out" too. He says he can't wait till he's 13 so he can join. And good luck to you DLISH on weighing in, we are rooting for you. Remember that you can have unlimited fruits and veggies so you shouldn't have to feel hungry. You may need a little more with all the working out you do. And good job for not beating yourself up about the crackers, you're so right it was a heathier choice than you might have made awhile back.
Happy Smashing Everyone! |
Thanks for welcoming me with open arms!
I only have two more days left on Phase 1, so I'm starting to get excited about allowing more foods into my life again. I really haven't felt tempted these past 7 days, which is great, since I'm normally ready to give up by this point on a new diet. I'm not sure what I weighed before this, so I can't tell how much I lost, but I feel so much better, which is the best thing, right? A couple of you asked how I lost weight so far, and basically I just limited my portion sizes and focused on working out. I really don't have the desire to work out lately, and that's why I decided to smash. Three things that have really helped me with losing weight is to not to forbid myself from eating anything. If I wanted to have pizza, then I ate pizza, but I would only have a slice with a large salad or something else healthy. That way, I got the craving out of the way, so I didn't binge on it and everything else when I started to feel bad for myself for being on a diet. Another thing is to be everyone's designated driver. That way, when we go out to a bar, I have to not drink. It's worked for everyone, since I don't end up wasting calories by drinking (and that late night food binging we all do when we have a few:dizzy:) and everyone gets home safe! I've also been lucky enough to find an amazing trainer who allows me to pay him $15 cash for a half hour session. We're doing it behind the gym's back, but to hire a trainer through them is way too much money. And it really doesn't hurt that he's really cute, too! :yay: Happy St. Patty's Day, everyone! Here's to a good week of healthy choices! Good luck, girls! |
Lisa: Once you have the ticker you just update your weight in your signature and it automatically updates the ticker. It's pretty easy.
Jill: I saw your artichoke recipe in SBD I thought maybe you were leaving us!! Oh BTW I converted someone else to FS!! I feel like a missionary!! DLISH: maybe try a smoothie or soy milk at night? I usually make hot chocolate with chocolate soy or almond milk and that keeps me fulll and helps with snacking. ManDy: The video I have is called carribbean wrokout. I bought it for $4.99 and it has 4 different workouts on it. 2 are straight kickboxing and the other 2 are step and kickboxing combined! The step ones are complicated but the other 2 are easy to follow. All 4 leave me sweaty! Annie: That is awesome that you found a trainer for so cheap!! I would love to get a trainer but they are so expensive but i think when i get to goal I will do it especially to tone up. I would like to have rock hard abs but I am a mother of 3 so I certainly dont think that will happen without some serious dedication. |
Hey guys! Its been a min since I last posted, but I did get a little frustrated recently. First of all, how often do you guys weigh yourself after Phase 1? I was gonna weight myself every week. Well, I did and I had gained like 4 or 5 pounds from my previous weigh in! I didn't get off track or anything! I need to excercise more, but I could understand staying at the same weight for not excercising, but to GAIN weight?? :?: I think I broke my scale though cuz when I tried to step on it, my foot stepped on the corner and it made a cracking noise and started showing all kinds of numbers, but I think its back to normal now. I don't want to use that as an excuse though. :(
So....I was horrible this weekend. I figured if I didn't stick to the diet plan, I could start over and have another "first week" since those are always the best. I lost 7 lbs the first week, and I'm not expecting to lose that every week, but at least 1 lb or 2. I had all kinds of crap this weekend! I have a tendency to think I know what I'm doing when I don't. I'm starting back over today though but has this happened to anyone else? I did a workout last night and hopefully I can do one everyday this week to work off all the crap I had this weekend! :o |
New to Fat Smash
Today is my first day on phase one and I feel extremely motivated. I am getting married in less then 6 months and I would like to lose 10 lbs to reach my goal weight....hopefully this will work for me!!! I am short so even gaining a few lbs makes a huge difference in my body. Reading all the posts is great motivation!
I have to go set up a weight loss ticker...I hope I can do it right... |

|
hotmama it could be water? Is it your TOM or anything like that? Are you going back to P1 or coninuing on with P2?
:welcome: mazda!! And :congrat: on your upcoming wedding! I don't think you can make a ticker until you have 10 posts or something like that. |
Quote:
I was doing phase 2 but I didn't really change much from Phase 1. The only difference is now I eat cereal, I had some salmon once, and if I eat the 4 egg whites, I also eat a whole egg. That's it though! I really would like to stick to phase 1 as much as possible because I was afraid this would happen if I started adding things even though its part of the diet. I know that sounds weird... |
Sorry hot mama your post confused me? Did you actually gain 4 or 5 lbs or are you now back to where you shoudl be? You started p2 at 171 lbs? How long have you been on P2 and how much do you weigh now? Personally I weigh myself daily to keep me in line but I only really track my friday weigh ins.
|
Well the last time I weighed myself, I was at 174. It had also said 176 at one point which is almost back to my weight I started at! So right now, I guess I'm 174, not really sure. I haven't weighed myself for almost a week now. I was 171 when I started phase 2. I think I'm 1.5 weeks into phase 2 at this point. Now, I'm just scared to get on the scale. Sorry to be so confusing!
|
Hot mama make sure you have a weigh in time and weigh in every morning at that exact time. I weigh in at 7:15 but occasionally I wake up at 4 or 5 so I weigh myself every hour unti 7:15.just cause I"m curious and sometimes I can "lose" 3 lbs in that time frame. So make sure you are being consistent. ALso how are you doing with your water cause that would make a huge difference too!!
As for me I had a horrible day!! Breakfast was cake ..again!!! And dinner...2 cookies!! I don't know what to do. lunch was good I had the veggie burger and mushrooms with melted cheese. Now I think i have to staop eating for the day or I will do major damage. Is there any way I will see normal numbers tomorrow? HELP!! |
hot mama - don't feel bad i have been moving very slow with the weight loss. just finished my 13 day lax FS1 and only lost 2.5 but hey it's something. i wasn't really good b/c i eat too much of a good thing and so thus i'm consuming too many calories. my goal is to work on portion sizes.
2beautiful - i love cookies! a girl at work had brownies and cookies today at her desk and i just kept thinking summer...summer! i can do this and summer will be here before I know it. stupid but for today it helped. i do eat the fat smash cookies a lot though - i ate my oatmeal for breakfast today so i can't have them tonight bummer. just start tomorrow - u know u can do this! b - oatmeal, banana, yogurt l - salad w/ gonzo beans and green peppers, grapes d - homemade vegetarian chili, a nature's promise soy burger (disgusting don't buy them - of course my fat arse ate it but they are so not good like the boca or morning star brand!) there will be something else in my future but for now that's how st. patty's day has shaked out! good luck girls! |
I am petrified of the scale!! Will an extra workout help? I don't know what to do!! I am sooo upset with myself and on top of it all I have a party on friday and I was planning to let myself have a treat. Okay I have to get back on track. I am going to do an extra workout tonight and then tomorow I will be good!
|
Thanks for all the encouraging words!!! I actually tappe into the wheat chrackers again but its okay---you fall down, and get right back up again!!!! Stilll, better than chips!! I had broccoli for lunch today but didnt even finish it...my appetite is very weird!! I couldn't work out today but tomorrow, ITS ON!!!! The weigh in will begin manana!!!!!
|
delish - yes crackers are better than other things - i keep a big bowl of cleaned grapes for snacking. i notice when i don't have them i pick other bad things. i also try decaf tea if i'm really going to binge at night.
2beautiful - what if your treat at the party is staying on plan?! go ahead and curse at me - i totally understand. i'm a march madness fan so i'll be in a bar in the city somewhere and it will be hard not to drink but i'm going to try and not go ballistic. as for food - i'll be with ya..guess i'll have salad or stick a banana or bag of grapes in my purse. nobody ever said this was going to be fun huh?! i did end up eating a salad tonight and a ckn boca patty. i'm going to bed to read - i never eat in my bed :D |
Nice Try Lisa!! Are you nuts!! Staying OP is not a treat!!!:) My plan now is if I get down to 192 I will allow myself one small treat if I don't then no treats at all.
I love the no eating in bed policy. I used to always eat in bed but I think I am going to make it a rule that I don't! Maybe then I woudl lose weight!! Oh I am so annoyed with myself. But I did get my extra workout in!! I hope 30 min of cardio cancels the damage. |
