Hey girls!!! Tomorrow I will officially be a fat smasher, lol.:carrot: I got my groceries....lots of veggies, fruits, boca and such. Really excited (my friend is too). I got some great rasberry dressing...mmmmmmmmm. :D I'll post tommorrow night....

Hello ladies,
I've been reading through several posts on different diets and have decided that FS is it for me, so today is day 1. Any one willing to help me stay on track? It seems that you have had great success on it, any tips? Weigh in today was 177.5, staying off the scale for ten days is gonna be the biggest challenge for me. I'm addicted to the darn thing. |
Same here... I usually weigh myself every day, so not getting on the scale will be hard.

I've thought in the past that weighing everyday was a good thing, but my weight can fluctuat throught the day and that can be frustrating. I am will though to give it a shot. Have you done the FS before? How far into it are you now? |
I also weigh everyday, but I do it at the same time every morning. I agree with what someone on another forum said. You might be eating something that is causing you to gain and by the time you weigh in later you might have gained weight instead of losing.

I only weigh in the mornings, naked! LOL At night I can be up to 3-5 lbs heavier.

Well day one...soo far soo good!! :)
I did 1 hour of Carmen Electra striptease workout, disc 1 (if you have never done this- get it! it is great!! it's how i got in shape for my wedding 2 years ago!!) I so far have had: Breakfast: bottle of water, 4 oz cup of non fat yogurt and 1 c berries Wahooooooooo I have so much energy!!! 3 meals to go! Btw, hotmamma, we can all be buddies, lol :) ONE more thing... say a prayer because Mon/Tues blow for me because of grad school/work.... so it's hard.... I am making adjustments, for instance today, being less busy, may be my 2 a day, as opposed to Tuesday when I have a SUPER long day... Ill keep you posted! I <3 fat smashing (for now, lol) -Kristin |
So far so good on the smash diet.
Plain yogurt with half of a nectarine for breakfast and my vitamin! 2 waters 1 cup black beans, garlic pwder and red peppers. I walked for 20 minutes and am patting myself on the back for not calling it quits because it was raining. I' m very hopeful that this is the jumpstart I need to get the weight off finally and for good. |

Sounds like a good goal, I hardly gained any with my first and then gained 60 lbs with my last...still carrying some of and he will be 9 this year.
I have to say that I am so full, no room for snacks right now which is what i would be doing otherwise. This is a good thing. |

Hello and welcome to Kari, Melyn, and Hotmama! Thanks for joining us the more the merrier. :) Today is day 7 for me YAY! I'm still loving it. I must be honest though I have not worked out like I should have, we got iced in last week and I couldn't get to the gym and and lately have been completely unmotivated to workout at home. Earlier some of you were talking about weighing, I myself am compulsive about weighing. I am hoping these first 9 days break that habit too. It has been so hard not to weigh myself for 9 days but I really don't wanna know until day 10 how its going. Hope everyone has a great rest of the day! |
Day 1 is almost done, have felt full the entire day,making sure that I ate small meals throughout. Finished up the day with brown rice and steamed asparugus, pretty yummy. It's the lack of Dr.Pepper that is killing me, I so badly want to go out to the garage and grab one, down it in one thirsty gulp and then sigh in fabulous relief.

That is me happy dancing, like carrot...lol. Day one is over, I already told you breakfast, and workout, so here is the rest of the day.... Meal 2: 1 c berries and water Meal 3: small salad, 3TB fat free dressing (i used my snack here- I used a 100 calorie pack of cheese nips on my salad, mmmmmm) Snack: grapes-15ish, maybe 20 Meal 4: 1 serving of veggies (stir fry- frozen, omg sooooooooo good there are asparagus, squash, carrots, broccoli (not my fave), cauliflower and snap peas i used no fat spray just a tad and a sprinkle of mrs dash no salt) and 1 cup brown rice with a tiny tiny bit of i cant believe its not butter and water I am going to have at least 3 or so more glasses of water before the end of the night. My body is kind of fighting this, as I am not used to this kind of caloric intake (remember- chubby).... however, I think I will be ok! Many have said the first day is the hardest, and I made it through that. So far, less than 600 calories, which I am not a fan of really. It kind of scares me, for reasons I won't bore you with.... :o The snacks, which you can have 2, are nice. One is even 2 cups of jello sugar free, which is not a bad deal. I am not too hungry right now... but nice if I want it. There are also "free" snacks which dont even count in your daily intake. Tommorrow I am more nervous about- I had to move my 2x workout day to Wedneday because it just doesn't fit in my schedule on Tuesdays. Still, with the way my day is, it is hard to fit all these meals in. Darn you college- trying to keep me tubby, lol. However, looking at day 1, i just realized I screwed up because my nightly meal was supposed to be beans and veggies, not rice and veggies- that is tomorrow. UGH :?: *deep breath* it will get easier. and to top it off, my hands are shaky- i think from lack of caffeine because i am a cherry coke addict, and i havent had caffeine since yesterday. :coffee: Ok that was super long, sorry....but I am motivated .... I plan on staying that way! Just unsure of something- how many calories are you FS regulars taking in a day? Extreme fat smash really sucks your calories down.... |
I feel like I breezed through today and in about 15 min I will be on day 3! I still feel full after I had my egg whites and salsa (saw a recipe for it today!), and bag of veggies with my garlic herb spices! (all purpose w/ no salt!) The funny thing is, I never knew of seasonings outside of Seasoned Salt, garlic salt, and salt! lol! The veggies tasted so much better! I love those bags that you put in the microwave and it steams on its own while still in the bag! I'm surprised I'm still full! I'm looking forward to the rest of the 9 days!! Oh, my Tae Bo dvds are on the way too! I'm so excited to get them!

I think have averaged about 1300ish I would say on phase 1 of FS. I am not sure how this compares to others. Compared to how many calories I would aim to eat normally it is a little low, normally aim for 1700-1900 but I figure for 9 days it's ok. I don't think I would be ok with only 600 calories, but I don't know how extreme FS works.

Ok ... yeah I agree with you about my calories, but I ate what it said to eat! I looked at some other EFS posts, and there were others that said this. I think I am going to switch to FS... I just don't want to starve my body thin. Dr. Ian knows nutrition so I can't imagine why this would be ok? Really....what am I doing wrong? IDK...like I said, I followed it. If you look back, I posted a Day One, Cycle One in here and that is what I did.
FS (which I also have the book for) may be a better idea. I mean I CAN do this, but it feels unhealthy to me. Do you agree? Are there any other EFS out there? Thanks girls! |

MELYN..... WELCOME =P KARI... You came! :) I'm glad! I lovvveee FS! :) It's been so great for me so far! The first few days dont worry about how much fruits & vegies you eat that helped me. I'm glad your first day went good! The first days are the hardest but after that you're so proud of yourself!!!! Not getting on the scale is so hard but SO WORTH IT! Kristin... Keep it up girl! =) On Fat Smasg theres no calorie counting! Which I super love... you're suppose to have 4-5 small meals a day but can only have certain things. I usually have about 1000 calories a day. I personally thnk you should start with FS :) I'm so excited to have more girls on the team! Today was a good day.. I worked and walked for 1 hour =) Yay... and where I live it's not very flat so great workout.... Ever since starting Fat Smash I eat A LOT more soup, and I love it! There's so many varities that are low cal... I usually have it once a day now.
BF: Special K w/ a little Fiber1 cereal mixed in & F/F Milk For lunch I'll probably have steamed broccoli with l/c caesar dressing mmmm... it's really yummy... Alright ladies I'm so PROUD of all of you! :) Oh and I weighed this morning... 170 lbs! :cheer2: So since Feb 1st (184 lbs) I have lost 14 lbs!! In less than a month!! I can't believe it! Even when I was eating heathy just following Weight Watcher points I only lost 6 lbs! I love Fat Smash =) |

I love Chili's Mexican CHicken and tortilla soup... which would probably be P2 :( lol
But good idea on the food! Can you request wheat rice? The main thing is you want to skip anything white, white bread, rice, sugar, mayo... taking all the white out is a huge accomplishment :) |
My favorite Mexican place here uses Brown Rice and they have yummy black beans as an alternative to refried ones, as well as fabulous veggie fajitas, (minus the tortillas, cheese, etc.) So I think I am ok there. That soup at Chili's sounds yummy, I'll have to try down the road.
You mentioned cutting out all white food, do you eat yogurt? I thought the plan said yogurt was ok. I made a tzatziki dip for my veggies yesterday, hopefully I didnt mess up. |

I'm waiting for both books (FS, EFS) from the library and I'm sure that when I'll hit a plateau I'll go on FS or even EFS. I love beans and especially chickpeas (hummus - my absolute favorite food!), so that would help, plus I don't eat potatoes and I cut back all my flour products right now. But I still get almost all my protein from chicken and cheese, so I don't know if I would take those out/reduce just now. Girls, just know there are non-FS people cheering you! Go girls!!! |

Day 3!!!
Goodmorning all.
I did really well yesterday with the food...ate out at mexican place like I mentioned and even though I was weak and ordered a margarita, I did not drink it. I know...I could hardly believe it myself!!!! DF gave me a high five in the parking lot, for sticking to...though he drank said margarita, so that might have had something to do with it.;) On to day 3 and doing great so far. Plain, no fat yogurt with half a peach for breakfast. Not sure yet what lunch will be, probably sald. Dinner is out again tonight as it's my youngests 5th birthday so he gets to pick the venue...McDonalds anyone? And going to avoind the cake too!!! Good luck to everyone today, my mini goal is to lose 10 % of my body weight by March 30th, that's my daughters birthday so again eating out. |

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, Tuesdays are a little crazy for me and yesterday was even more so than usual. Today is day 9 for me :carrot: Yay! I get to weigh tomorrow. I really hope to see at least some results, I have not got to work out much which stinks, but I have absolutely stuck to the eating plan. So I have my fingers crossed. I am a little concerned about this upcoming weekend, I am suppose to go out of town with my bf who is flying in. Not sure about eating out and alcohol temptation... I may be back on phase one for a day or two next week, lol. Hope everyone is doing well and having a great week! Oh and Congrats Jill that is sooo great!!! Keep it up :D ~Mandy |
