Good Day Everyone!
I thought I'd pop in and let you all know that all went well with my Colonoscopy! I went this past Tuesday morning and did rather well with the prep as well... the only thing that bothered me was the deep hunger and thirst I felt on the morning of the test, cuz you cannot have anything to eat or drink after midnight the day before. As for the test itself - I asked them not to put me out, I am very sensitive to meds and may get too dizzy. When the Dr. did the scope I was awake and saw the TV screen of my insides all nice and a healthy pink and NO POLYPS at all!! So kewl! Doc could see where I have had previous Diverticulitus attacks (infection and fever) and told me that with the changes I have made now it's only Diverticulosis (the potential to be infected, but not) and IBS is something I will have to cope with. But, with my program I have not had an attack since Feb.! I did get sick after I got home - we no sooner pulled into the driveway I whipped open the car door and let it rip! Bet ya couldda gone all day w/o hearing that, huh... There was nothing on my tummy - so it hurt! It was those meds to relax me!! After that I was fine! Today I am just a little bloated still, but feeling very well

You mentioned...um...SUNNYD? ...hummm...oh yea! I vaguely remember her
Hi Gary!
Don't blame you for sayin' that - don't know how I let the days just slip past me like I do I am so very sorry But I did have a reason for about 10 days there after my last post to ya... I could not get back into 3fcks! I was sent another code so I could get back in; then lost it and had to do a search for it - I got back in at the beginning of Sept. but have let you all down with not stoppin' by... forgive me? I know... "50 lashes with a wet noodle"
Sounds like you have been enjoying the games... I am afraid I will disappoint you in that Joe & I have not been watching much TV this summer... not even the games! When we get home at night - we are plumb-tuckered-out! I am glad that you and Margie have been able to watch together and chat about them
We did RENT "Monster-in-Law" and Joe & I gave it about a 6 - we felt it was very predictable, but that it was funny in some areas... that was the most recent film we rented 2 wks ago. Our weather has been so nice here this last few weeks and it looks like we'll be enjoying another! Tomorrow we are going to the "Yankee Peddler Festival" where there are hundreds of crafter's crafting and selling their wares... not to mention FOOD booths!! It's suppose to be a beautiful weekend!
I read that your children are well on their way for the year... Ryan teaching his History/Gov.; Amanda doing research; Lara in her Senior yr. HS and Ron... wow! in the 10th grade! How does he like it? Is he doing well on his meds? How is Angie doing? Busy, busy, busy... I bet!
Hi Michele,
Thank-you for all the forwards - I got them all yesterday!! As I said - I haven't been on the computer much! You sent some great ones!! Thanx!! I knew I had to stop in after getting all of them... I felt guilty!!
So I read that you will be moving?!! Leaving Minn. and going to Ca... have you found a place? I bet that your family is thrilled that you will be coming home!!
Hi Wilma,
I read that all went wonderfully with your DS's wedding on the 20th of August!! I am so happy for you all!! Has it quieted down for you a bit now? How is work coming along for you these days? Bet it was nice to have off for the wedding!
I read that you needed some prayers for your family and jobs! I am there --- lifting them up for you sweetz!!
Hi Sue,
What BEAUTIFUL pictures of the baby!!!! She is an absolute DOLL!!! Thanks so much for sharing them!! I do hope that she adjusting well to her new environment and parents.
Are you still camping? It sure has been beautiful here in Ohio the last few weeks - how about you in NY? Nice there too?
Hi Margie,
Looks like you have kept up with your walking!! good for you sweetie!! I didn't walk much in August either - only completed 21.75 miles for the month if I recall. As for this month of Sept. so far I have gotten in 8.75 miles.
It's great that you and Gary have been able to keep up on the LLgames... as I told Gary, I haven't watch as much TV these days - every time I do turn it on I get all caught up in the devastation from Katrina! So very sad to see the loss of life there! And the upheaval!
Hi Lori,
How's that knee of your coming along, sweetie? Are you going to have some surgery done soon for it? *Prayers*
I read that you were having some problems with your *Norton Anti-Virus-2005* I am sorry I wasn't here!! I could have helped you! The new Norton you have to go into the STATUS & SETTING then click on PERSONAL FIREWALL; then click on CONFIGURE. A separate window will open and there you will click on PROGRAMS (TOP)... then you will see MANUAL PROGRAM CONTROL and it is there that you can find your E-mail and Internet and click on the INTERNET ACCESS ARROW and set it to PERMIT ALL or BLOCK ALL. Well, here is it for future ref. if you need it.
*~*~*
Hello's and Hugs going out to all you other special people out there!!
Love and God's Blessings!!!
*Smiles*

Oh my goodness girl, that colonoscopy doesn't sound fun at all...but i'm glad you are good and no polyps. And i thought your incident outside the car at home was funny.... I didn't read your whole post, but i'm glad to see you. Sending (((((((big hugs)))))))
If anyone is interested in doing something for Katrina victims and is a knitter, crocheter or weaver please go to http://*************.com/group/clothsforkatrina/files/ and sign up. It's a fast growing group but they need all the help they can get. It's a small way to make a difference and it's a great group.
I got my hair cut yesterday, i really like it, i'll post a pic as soon as i can.
I have a little time this morning to check in. we are going to late service at church, then our church pic-nic, in rememberance of 911.
Not much going on around here for me other than football games on TV and work. Kids are all busy with their jobs/school and doing well. reba and rylee are being their usual "pain in the butts"!
Glad to see it pick up a little here in the last few days...I was just about ready to "fold" out of the game
WILMA ~ The kids are adorable! And your are stunning in your dress! Enjoy the nice weather. Praying for your DS job quest. Watch the brownie intake
MICHELE In Cali. yet?
SUNNYD Is that really you? I hope you enjoyed the craft fair. Did you buy anything? sorry you got sick after the scope. I couldn't eat after 9:00 the night before....then the day before they had to change my appt. from the morning until 3:00 that afternoon...boy was I hungry! The doc. says I don't need to do it again for another 5 years...for me, it wasn't a big deal...not something I look forward to though! Hope to hear from you a little more regular.
Well, the kids are all getting up and ready...better go get my pic-nic clothes on.
I know better, but I let myself balloon back up to 150 pounds, I need to get back down to 130. Frist 145, then 140, and so on.
I'm Michele from northwest Florida. I attend New Vision Worship Center (www.newvisionworshipcenter.com) where I teach adult Sunday School. Hubby has been backsliding but he's coming back to the Lord - he just doesn't know it yet! No kids or pets (besides him).
I work full time as a bookkeeping clerk for an industrial painting contractor. I sell Avon and have a virtual assistant business on the side.
Part of my problem is being an emotional eater, plus portion control. And there are times when I want a treat, especially if someone else is having something. On the weekends, my husband doesn't want to eat regular meals. He wants a big breakfast, then he wants to drink beer until mid afternoon and have a heavy meal of pizza or something similar. Certainly I can drink herb tea while he drinks his beer, but I need to eat regular meals at a logical calorie level.
This week he is out of town visiting his parents. I couldn't go since the Lord just gave me this new job a couple of weeks ago and I can't request time off yet. So now it's a perfect time. I dug out my copy of The Omega Diet by Artmeis Simopoulous. It's a version of the Mediterranean Diet. She gives 21 days of meal plans at the 1200 and 1500 calorie level. These are the three main meals, I will have fruit for snacks, I think. So this week while I'm by myself I can follow the plan.
If I have preplanned enues I have some guideline for my eating, which I seem to need.
Of course, tomorrow is my first challenge. We have an Avon meeting at 6 pm. That used to mean I would leave work and get fast food on the way to the meeting. (After all, save the receipt, that's a business expense and a tax write off). Today I am making my brown bag supper to eat before I leave work.
I have a fmaily history of diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, so I thnk it's high time I quit fooling around. I can have pizza on my birthday, not every Friday night!
Sorry for the long absence, but I just started another job. So I've been working 2 jobs and school. I've been hovering at around 155, but I haven't gained any back so that's good. How have you guys been?
Hello!?! Hello?!? Is anybody there? It's so quiet around here these days. I would understand if everyone's life is as uneventful as mine right now. It's been really quiet in my life these days too. It's go to work and come home. That's it!!
I plan to get started on making a quilt for DS and his wife. I'm looking forward to working on it in the winter. We'll go pick out the fabrics one of these days. I find it so relaxing in the evenings to sit a stitch for a few minutes. And, with all my favorite shows coming back in a couple of weeks it'll be nice to have something to do while watching them.
garybearsgirl: Welcome! I'm sorry more of us aren't around here to talk. We do support each other here and hope you will find that same support. Keep posting.
lateralus: Glad to see you back here. You've been doing great with the weight loss. Keep up the great work.
Gary: Thanks for the compliment! I felt really good that day. It was so much fun (after I let the stress leave!!) DS has a 2nd interview at one place so hopefully he'll land the job. It's in a stock room at Staples (an office supply store). It's not really what he wanted but he's not being fussy especially with rent due soon.
I'm really busy with my move, sorry i haven't been on so much.
I had the nicest surprise yesterday!!! Our own Mkay called me yesterday while i was at lunch. She was home for the day and thought she'd surprise me, and boy did she! It was so neat to talk to her on the phone. She sounds as sweet as she is! Very happy and uplifting and just so darn sweet! It made my day...
I was thinking about us girls who were going to take the train and meet in Chicago...remember? Well, i guess maybe i'll have to fly from CA now if we ever do take that trip. We should try to find a central point for all us CErs to meet some time. Wouldn't that be a blast?
Wilma, thanks for the wedding pics, what a lovely couple and really nice pic of you and DMIL.
OK, so now we have TWO Michele's, and we are BOTH one L gals!
Guess I'llhave to go by Garybearsgirl, course there's also a Gary here, right?
What shall I call myself? Certainly not Late for Supper (LOL)
Have the day off work, so I will catch up on the posts....shouldn't take too long .
GARYBEARSGIRL~ Just kidding of course! You may call yourself whatever you wish, we will know who you are. My wife is a frequent lurker here and I am pretty sure she knows she's the only one for me so no confusion there. So glad you can join us...this used to be quite an active thread...slowing down a bit now, but I am sure it will pick up again. One thing is sure...you complain about Gary's Saturday diet ....same as mine ...just like Angie does Good luck on your journey!
WILMA~ We have Staples here, we are regulars! with two teachers and the kids in the house, good luck and prayers for the boy. Ryan had his first back to school night, as a teacher, last night. He said it went OK....said most of the parents that did show told him that their kids like him as a teacher, he said some of the parents laughed at his ice-breaker jokes . All in all he said it was a good night, he put 20 post-its up on the bullletin board with his "wish list" and they were all taken. I don't know if they do that there, but at the schools here, on back to school nights, the parents hand out or post a wish list of needed/wanted supplies....parents then make donations....probably a lot of STAPLES shopping going on today! have fun with the quilt, my ex made one for my son out of his track, basketball, and cross country shirts from high school...and one for my daughter out of tennis shirts...turned out very nice.
MICHELE~ Good luck with the move...guess you heard about the power black-out on Monday...what a mess that was for LA. MKAY?...hummm...oh...I remember her how is she doing?
RACHEL~ Great to see you back! Congrats on the NO SMOKING!! This past August was the 7th anniversary for me, after smoking for almost 30 years! Best thing I ever did...er...other than marrying Angie Take care of yourself with all that work and school!
Well it looks like I caught up again...too easy! Hope to see all the MIA's soon!...well, off to do some chores for Angie...prayers for all of you!
Yes it sure has been pretty quiet around here the past few days
Glad to hear from you, Gary, wilma and mitchypoo! Sounds like you all are keeping quite busy. I know I am. School is killing me! Math is getting much harder, with the teacher teaching us all of these confusing ways to do simple problems. Yuck.
Anyways, I gotta get crackin' on my geography homework. Talk to you all later!
Lateralus~Hi Sweets!! Wow, how excited are you!! I'm so proud of you for officially being a non-smoker and your weightloss efforts and your schooling. It makes me long to be in school again. I went back at 38 yo and i LOVED IT!! I will go back and pursue further education, after i get settled in CA. I'll probably be one of those grandmas still in school, but i've learned that i have a hunger for education. Keep up the good work!!!
