Oh WELL DONE to on-my-weigh !!

This is a mega quick post as it is 03:35hrs and I only came in tp have a quick peek! Actually I think it is a better time to be logged on'cos America is awake still and I find quite a few people logged in whn I am at this time of the morning....(my middle of the night! )

The concert our church hosted last evening was very good. I AM glad I went, afterall! Graham Hepburn is a very accomplished pianist but I don't fit in easily with the humour that he regailed us with during the evening. He did pick on 4 members of the audience...I literally thatnk God I wasn't one of them! Take me to a good classical music concert with evening wear and dickie-bows any day!! He got out one woman to be page turner...she ewas such a good sport and so were the other three who "helped" with his rendition of the Blue Danube by playing a couple of hand-bells, a pair of "cardboard tubes" and a hooter and a gong. I will leave it to your imagination as to where they had to play in the piece!! As I say, they were all very game for a laugh and I think they were very brave...I'd have been too embarressed by half!! I did buy one of the two c.d.'s he was selling..my Derby friend has heard hime before so I bought one and got Graham to sign it. That's his birthday present done! It comes in the first week of January so I have to get the brain doing overtime as to what presents to buy him for Christmas and birthday,,,
Happy weekend to you all! Britain gets an extra hour in bed tonight as out winter daylight saving begins...the clocks go back an hour...now is the time to moan about how many clocks I have in the house!...oven...video....bathroom...etc.etc....:st ress:

Hi all

At work this a.m. and it's cold and rainy again today. Yesterday it was 74, today it may hit high 40's. After work I go to the church center. Today is our all day conference that we call Holy Spirit day for Alpha, we have talks and group time, praise and worship, prayer ministry and FOOD, breakfast lunch and a nice dinner. I can only make it for the afternoon. It's usually a great day, but i'm so tired and have so much going on that my mind is not there. Tomorrow i do a 4 hour shift for the crisis line.....i'm excited and nervous, part of me is hoping no one calls, but if they do, God will help me through it.

Doug's daughter sent me a really cute Halloween card yesterday, she's 13 and in much need of a mother, their mother is there, but he has custody and she is not very nurturing or caring. So sad. Her card made me cry, very touching. They (the kids and him) have invited me to go to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. I'm so touched and if our visit goes the way i want it to, i'd love to go, but having a hard time letting him do that for me.

Happy Halloween. Just finished watching my RAIDERS get hammered by the local CHARGERS...SCARED ME!!! plus made me sick My team is so horrible this year! Really busy here, but I see some newbies and they seem to be hanging in there...missing Sami and Sue though (note to the "old" regulars). Trick or treaters should be coming soon....just checked in to say hi and welcome to the new kids.

Church today was cool...centered around Martin Luther and the Reformation, but our vicar did it way too cool with the halloween theme!

Well, gotta go hide some candy before they give it all out and I go without ...not really, haven't had candy in a long time...now--about those chips ..later, Gary

Good morning and yes! It IS November !!

Disaster on the scales this morning. Have gained a lot over the last month. Not happy. I know I haven't felt well enough to go swimming and haven't done any long walks with the dog...(or short ones for that matter). Since this absess I have felt completely horrible and SO tired and in fact have spent 2 out of the last 4 days in bed and sleeping loads. Yesterday was a busy day with church in the morning and a childrens party late afternoon for "treats no tricks". We had about 65 children and it went very well. I played my violin for the worship in the morning...we had a visiting preacher/pianist...the one who did the concert on Friday evening, Graham Hepburn. He is SUCH a gifted musician, it was a real pleasure to play with him. We are short of confident pianists and the best of them is moving after Christmas. Our loss is his new church's gain, to be sure!

How is everyone? Mitchypoo I hope your time on the crisis line went ok...I really admire you for taking on that task...I guess its a bit like our Samaritans help line over here. Let us know how you got on! How nice of Doug's DD to send you a card. Will you meet her when you meet Doug next weekend, I think? She obviously thinks very highly of you already...

EZ glad to see that you are well and coping with having candy in the house that you can't eat!!!

Wilma I hope your spirits are somewhat lifted now and you are beginning to feel the sense of peace that only The Lord can give.

Well I 'spose it is time for me to go and do something with the day...I know...half of it has gone already! I haven't got anything planned and it is quite grey and miserable out there..perhaps I should start organising my Christmas card list!!

Teel~Doug is coming out here to meet me~without the kids. If he wanted to bring them i'd be concerned, i think you have to be delicate about that. What if we don't like eachother or ?

Holy Spirit Day on Sat. after work went well. I had trouble getting into it- i was tired, etc. But we did pray with only 1 person and then we prayed for eachother. One of the ladies asked if she could pray for me and my back, she layed hands on me and I felt the Spirit. I felt blessed.

The crisis phone work went well, but i did have 2 calls......one from some friends wanting help for a friend, which we can talk to the friends and suggest things but really need to talk to the victim.....and another from an older lady who was upset about her grown son trashing her house...although she allowed him to stay, to come and go, and didn't want to change the locks or call the police, sometimes you just have to listen, sometimes they just need to talk and aren't ready to do anything about the problem. I felt a little bit like, did i help her? But i think it's like that a lot, i did what i could. I felt good about doing the work.

Went to the chiro this a.m. and i feel good this a.m. Have another busy week planned...Hope you all have a good monday.

Sunny~real quick while i'm in here....doug has 3 children, Kristy,Stephanie and Bobby, 16, 13 and 11 respectively. They really do seem like great kids. I love to think the what if's and if they'd maybe someday be my bonus-kids, but i can't go there yet.

Whew...I'm back at work...been spending time at the hospital and cleaning mom's house this weekend. My sister and I spent the night with my DF last night. He needs a "sitter" during the night and the hospital did not have any available. My other sister from FL flew in Friday evening and spent Fri night through last night with dad. She is a nurse in a surgical center down there in Jupiter.

DF's lungs were full of blood clots. On heperin (sp) along with cumidim (sp) right now and "might" be able to go home tomorrow. Dr. said that by all rights he should have died. Amen that he didn't. Prostate levels are at 30 but no can do on biopsies (sp).

Will keep you all posted.

Hi everyone!! Just checking in and saying hello!!

I hope everyone is going to vote tomorrow! I am going to go first thing in the morning on my way to work. I intend on saying a special prayer this evening that tomorrow goes smoothly and that God's will is done.

NO TIME....Can't vote tomorrow.....ALREADY DID!!! ABSENTEE...every year!!! That way I have NO EXCUSE NOT TO VOTE...like weather, too tired, too lazy, etc. got a million of 'em!! Angie just came in...I have a roast, sweet potatoes in the crock-pot ready...she is hungry, starving from Yoga...gotta go...VOTE!! and pray about your vote...as for me...well, I can't say I love the guy in there...but...I'm stickin' with him because I believe he is our best shot at being STRONG!!! Good morning to everyone!! And I pray that America will choose the right man for the job of being the next president. From our news reports it seems that Kerry and Bush are neck and neck in the polls. Well not long now to see who has the keys to the White House for the next 4 years! Of course next year we will start the process over in Great Britain. That is bound to cause some upset!!

I had a sneaky jump on the scales this morning and they have started going in the correct direction again after yesterdays disasterous weigh-in! I hope they continue to do so next week!

It is such a grey miserable day here today...truly November!! Part of me is dreading the upheavel when I have gas central heating installed. Firstly one department has to lay the gas pipeline to my door and then a couple of days later a different department comes to "inspect" the property and measure up and give me a quote for the work to put about 7 heaters in and all the pipes and the boiler.... I really am hoping they can finish the work before Christmas. I am really not looking forward to the mess and the likely need to redecorate afterwards!! Still it will be SO lovely to have a good warm house with no cold spots and radiators that you can adjust individually...

Mkay thanks for filling us in with news of DF. I hope he will be deemed fit enough to leave hospital today as planned and will continue to make a good recovery..

Sunny I am trying to lose weight by cutting carbs and fat in my food! Sometimes I think I am quite successfull at it but it seems a VERY slow progress and sometimes I have a very big hiccup and put on a load, like this week. It seems that if I am not a complete angel I don't just stay the same, I put on! Soul destroying to say the least. The attitude from my parents does not help and I get entirely sick and tired of it. Historically I feel as though they are always after the absolute best from me and are never satisfied with anything less than 110%. Yes they were proud when my brother and I did some great achievement like passing our music grade exams ( I got grade 8 in violin and DB got his in both piano and violin) but then I remember when I got 99% in a school music written exam DF wondered where the other 1% had got to. Sometimes I feel as though I simply cannot live up to his expectations and DM is just as bad and should know better 'cos I have talked to her about it. I am NOT saying I don't love them. I do. Sometimes not all the time.


Mitchypoo how is your back now? Well done to you for all your work with the Alpha day...hope you didn't get too tired which I know makes pain worse.

EZ do you mean you get a postal vote? They are very useful I know!! I get one and feel quite smug as everyone else has to go out in the cold and rain to vote!It is also very useful for when I have been in hospital when you can't get out at all to do your duty!!

On-my-weigh how are you feeling with number 4 on the way? Is the whol family excited? What do the siblings-to-be think about a new member of the family? Good health to you as you continue along the way!!

Just a quick note before I head off for work. I am feeling a lot better. Thanks for your prayers!! I've had a bit of a rough time at work and things are physically upsidedown here at home. I am a teller at a Credit Union and am finding that it is impossible for me to balance at the end of the day. My supervisor who is wonderful tells me it's the least important thing about my day. Serving customers is but it's frustrating and that's what's been getting me down. On top of that I have my kitchen upsidedown too. It's exciting and yet hard to do daily functions. I'll be glad when it's finished. Hopefully I'll be able to decorate for Christmas this year.

I am again going on a no sugar plan. I can't seem to stay away from it so I'm going to leave it alone completely. It's so very hard with all the halloween candy hanging around here.

Kind of quiet today? Hope you are all out and busy voting!! I was at the poll at 7:15 and it only took about 15-20 minutes. I'm wondering what the news will be like tonight and how soon we'll know results.

Very busy with work......yesterday was so stressful. But we're celebrating my co-workers 25th anniversary so this afternoon will be fun! My boss is bringing champagne and having flowers delivered and i got a cake! I brought her a small gift too, she helps me a lot and is (usually) very patient.

Doug will be here in 10 days......nervous, excited!

Wilma!You hang in there, especially with work. Sounds like you have a great supervisor, and sometimes we are really hard on ourselves.

Teel, my back is doing very well, thank you. It is sometimes tired, sometimes i am uncomfortable turning over in bed, but once i get up and walk around i really feel good. My chiro was commenting on my improvement, and it is so much better, i went from barely being able to walk to feeling fairly normal.
