A Servant's Prayer

Jesus, MY Jesus... How marvelous your ways...
Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an
honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered
by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have
called me. I give myself totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect
heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hardness. Close the doors
I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the
roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything
that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of
your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.

To love as you love...
To serve as you serve...
To heal as you heal...
To forgive as you forgive...
always mindful of my nothingness while doing
great and marvelous things in you name and for
you glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name.
Amen

Good Morning All!

Gary ~ Our Browns didn't do so well this Sunday :( And we lost our running back, Kellin Winslow :o he broke his leg!!! :crossed: Hope that doesn't mean what I think it will... you know how a team gets when they lose a major player  Glad to hear that the Raiders won.

Your casserole sounds delish! But all that cheese would turn me inside out :fr: :dizzy: I am glad you & yours enjoyed the meal ;) I am not able to have cheese (no dairy) any longer :( I do miss it, but not the pain... :D That warm crusty bread sounded sooo good! Would you pass a slice over pleeezzzz :hun:

Looking forward to your post... come back soon!

Michele ~ I think you are doing a wonderful job keeping up with your exercise... you and your back will be so glad you have ;) I have an exercise ball and love it... I got it years ago before it was popular to have through Jazzercise (when I worked for them). I love it to do my stretches on! You will love it too once you get the hang of it ;)

Oooooo... you must come back and let us know what that surprise is as soon as you know ;) Got my curiosity up --- for sure.

Good to see you pop in Sprout!
Thanks for another great Daily Devotional Reading!!!

*~*~*

Yesterday was a bust for me... I didn't do anything! I felt very tired, so I just did allot of sitting (out on our porch) catching up with the Sunday paper and some of my magazines. It was such a lovely day to do that!!! We are going to have another great weather :sunny: day today!! This could go on all winter (well except for the week of Christmas - we need snow then).

Okayyyyy... where's everyone else??? :?: ???

Catch you kids later... :)
Luvs,

Not Lost!

Hello Everyone!

Boy...alot happens when I'm not looking.

Welcome Lake Girl and Angie! Y'all come back now...ya hear?

I think it took me 15 minutes just to catch up on posts.

I am still prepping for the craft show this weekend. I will be selling book marks, zipper pulls, elastic and wire bracelets and will take orders for Mother's bracelets.

I went off my progestrone today with only three days to go. I'm not sleeping at night and had to stay home this morning from work and get some shut eye.

I am feeling that negative yuk today. It makes me just want to stay away from everyone and shut myself up all alone. UGH!

Anyway, sorry I haven't been current with posting, my computer is being fixed (more memory, new hard drive). I don't always like to go on DH's computer to play.

Well, back to work and I hope to peek in again soon.

Mitchypoo 09-21-2004 11:29 PM

Would someone PM me please. I've changed my email address and want to see if it's working. Thanks.

MKay ~ It's good to hear from you :flow1: I sure do hope you feel better real soon!!! And that all goes well with your Craft Fair this weekend... love the items you will be selling, sure do wish I could come and see for myself ;)

Couldn't you stay on the progestrone if it makes you feel better?? I thought you could... it sure it playing havoc on your system. I am *praying* for you and your well-being!

*~*~*

Joe is taking the day off today... He still has days owed him, so that's why he's taking them now - he must use them by Dec. And we have days already set aside for Thanksgiving and Christmas ;) Anyway... I'll let you know what we did today tomorrow, okay...

*Have a wonderful day today!!!*

sami 09-22-2004 08:11 AM

Hello I am soooooo far behind. I am sorry so much has gone on. We are trying to be there for my husbands Mom (her husband just died) And of course I have been spending alot of time with my Mom. She is having surgery on OCT 7th Please keep her in your prayers that she even makes it through the surgery. She has such low blood pressure that she is at risk of not waking up. We will find out then what stage her cancer has spread to. I am doing better now I was such a mess as many of you know what stress does to IBS I almost had to be put in the hospital. Well I have got to run I will try to get on when I get home and catch up.

mkay 09-22-2004 09:16 AM

Wed A.M.

Thank you Mitchy for your PM/Hug. I did need it. I just feel like I put up a shell around me and I want to keep DH out.

Sami- I know the feeling of being so far behind in posting. Prayers are for you and your family.

My BIL is in Ann Arbor today and the University receiving another "treatment" for severe depression. My sister and I are doing a 24-hour water fast for his healing and for my DH (issues). I'm praying into these situations with the faith and hope of healing. Keep them in your prayers today. Thanks!

I actually went to curves Monday and I'm going again tonight after work. I will ask my daughter to bring her camera to the craft show Saturday so she can take pics of the event and then I can post them. I spend 4 hours working on zipper pulls and chain book marks. AND...another night of weird sleep.

Well, I have nothing to do here at work today, so I am inventing things. I will have another day like this on Friday. UGH!

Have a super blessed day all  :flow1: :grouphug:

Bunnababy 09-22-2004 12:38 PM

Mkay, sorry to hear that things are not going well. Sending (((()))) your way. How are you doing with your eating? I am doing terrible, it is like once I cheated I just cannot get back to program again, I have one day great and then one stinks. I am going on strict again today as I failed at it the other day. It will help when my kids get out cuz they keep junk around and when I get in a mood I know where to look for it. Would love to see some of your work, of special interest to me are the zipper pulls and the mother's necklace. Maybe I could order some from you. PM and let me know. Also I was wondering if you could take an over the counter progesterone or maybe a cream. WalMart has one called estroplus which is the cheap version of Estroven.

Sami: I am so sorry about your fil and now your mom's upcoming surgery and battle with cancer. Also sorry that your IBS is in such a flare.

Figures the kids left for the day and I have a ton of errands to do in town. I could have been home alone all day. Tomorrow I am home all day but so are they. Cannot wait until they get moved out and I get my house to myself.

Took dad to see his surgeon yesterday and they took out the staples, he said he is doing wonderfully, and that a lot of people are not even out of ICU yet and here he has been home for a week. He doesn't have to go back for six months now then they will do an ultrasound to check everything out.

Sorry, I haven't been around much but too much going on and I haven't had time to get on the computer much and I felt guilty about just posting and not reading what was up with everyone.

Gary, busy as usual. With doing dog and cat rescue like I do it is so nice to hear someone saying my dogs are doing naughty things but I love them. We hear so much of "Mikey peed on the couch and it cost $3,000 so he has to find a new home." In my head I am thinking nasty words for that person but we have to be nice until we get our hands on the dog. Plus it is thankless work because people who only have a pet or two think we are crazy cuz we have so many animals around here and the people who abuse and mistreat just don't understand all the time and money we spend on them. But I have to admit if Bruce doesn't quit stealing things from the house to chew up in the yard I am gonna.....

Mitchy: So glad that you are enjoying the exercise and that you are feeling good.

Sunny, I truly enjoy all of your graphics.

Well, off to work and errands. Everyone have a peaceful day today.

Mitchypoo 09-22-2004 01:08 PM

I feel great!!!!

I feel like that song.......I Feel Great!!! I can't remember who sings it, but if you say the words you'll remember the song... It's so amazing to me that I'm doing so well. My goal this week was to eat lunch in and this is day 3 of me making my lunch. I like doing that anyway so i have more time on computer to chat, play, etc. Sometimes I want to get out of here, but i only seem to spend money when out.

Sunny, thanks for PM, it seems to work fine. I haven't changed email service for over 4 years, but i found one that seems to do all i want it to, and it's way less per mo. It's a pain to transfer address books though. It did one automatically, but didn't transfer complete so I have a lot of work to do.

Having dinner tonight with John.....we'll see how it goes. And OH, i'm now getting a head cold i think. I felt punky this a.m, but i'm glad i got up and got going cuz then i felt great. Went to Chiro today and he's happy about my progress.

You know, it seems it's hard for a lot of us to have "alone" time at home which I think is so important. It use to bother me when I lived with my parents, i just need that time. Now I get plenty of it, but there has to be a way for you all to have some time, huh? I hope you can find a way.

Today I am grateful for avocados, i love them.....and i'm grateful for my Chiro, he's a good guy.

mkay 09-22-2004 01:58 PM

End of Lunchtime

I am thankful today for warmth. I've been so cold today at work, I actually had on my shirt and two sweaters. Now that I've been out thrift shopping at lunch in the heat and warm car...I feel much better now.

Bunna-
Well, I have been into the Hershey's Kisses...love them AND M&M Peanuts...like them just as much. BUT...Yesterday and today I will have done ok, especially today since I'm fasting and boy oh boy am I wanting a pizza :jeno:. It is so very hard to get back on track. I got out my SB cookbook and picked out some recipes to cook, but first of all I have to get the food to cook it. Not this week.

Well, time for me to get back jack...to work that is. Hugs and Thanks!

mkay 09-22-2004 02:01 PM

Almost Forgot

Mitchy- Way cool about feeling great! Where are you and John going for dinner. Gee, DH and I haven't been out to dinner in a long time. Have fun and don't forget that cologne. :D

Mitchypoo 09-22-2004 02:07 PM

HI GALS

Warm here today so I am making a pasta salad for dinner...cheese tortellini, salami, artichoke hearts, black olives, zucchini, roasted red bell peppers with a red wine vinegar, fresh basil, garlic, salt and pepper dressing.

Gotta take the nephew to tennis practice...he better be on time! Monday I told him, "we are leaving in 10 minutes..be ready." WELL! a friend of his came to the door 5 minutes later (keep in mind Ron didn't make a move from the TV when I told him it was almost time to go)...and Ron "COULDN'T WAIT" to show his buddy the new "SHOCKING STAPLER" he got at Harbor Days at the harbor on Sunday....of course this is a side issue with me...WHAT IN THE HECK ARE YOU WASTING YOUR ALLOWANCE ON KNUCKLEHEAD?...did ya save any? waddaya mean NO!!? ya big goofball ;) ...back to story...I headed to the truck and yelled at him that if he was in it when it left the driveway I would take him to tennis...he made in...of course no shoes on, racquet out of the bag, and buddy standing at the door wondering what in the heck just happened...warned him that I wouldn't remind him today--he just better be ready if he wants to go! ;)

Wonder what you can get for a knucklehead nephew, 1 sparkle/shadow chasing dog and 1 RAIDER blanket chewin'..DIGGIN' dog? ;) ...just wondering

SUNNYD Hey girl..Winslow is a tight end...with a BIG mouth..BUT! if he ends up half as good as his dad was he will really help you guys out when he heals...looks like he loses a big signing bonus though...serves him right for holding out "with ATTITUDE!"...Sometimes I don't get the Sunday paper..keep in mind we take 3 papers daily...the local, LA TIMES and the SAN DIEGO UNION...READ until thursday  if we got a lot going on. Enjoy the "JOE" time ;)

MICHELE WOW! What an attitude change...and all from just feeling better..go figure!! Hope things go as you wish with John tonight...salesman have a way of leading you one way though sometimes...glad you saw the "possibility'' in that just in case!! Smart girl!!..praying for..NOT TOO MUCH ALONE TIME FOR YOU!!

SAMI Goodness dear..when will it end for you! Don't worry about catching up..just come back when you can..you are ALWAYS in our prayers!!

MKAY Stay warm...good luck with DH issues...we men can be a real pain in the.. well, you know where! Have a great craft show! looking forward to pictures.

BUNNA As far as I am concerned ALL PET OWNERS ARE CRAZY!! OH, did ya notice almost everyone on this thread owns pets...gotta tell ya something about us! don'tcha think? ...heck for a long time "I" was the only sane one...then I went out and got..not 1...but 2 puppies! Stay out of the kid's snacks :nono:  HERE IS PRAYING FOR SOME ALONE TIME FOR YOU!!!

SUE What's up with the youth this week?...Ron is watching a little of the Passion each week at youth group then discussion...he has seen that movie 4 times already..plus we bought it on DVD. Don't work too much!!

MARILYN hope all is well with the walking, son's issues and daughter.

WILMA How is the "house" makeover going?

What happened to the new kids? Why do they always leave us? is it me (?)

Off to tennis..............

Angie-Wangie 09-22-2004 06:38 PM

Hi everyone, tomorrow is weigh-in so I am being "extra" good today. I am hopeful for a good loss this week. :)

MKay..I used to do craft shows too! What sorts of crafts do you do?

Mitchypoo 09-22-2004 10:17 PM

dinner was nice

Hi guys

John called me at work to make sure we were still on. He picked me up at home and we went to the Chinese Buffet. We had great food (they had crab legs tonight!), and we talked about all kinds of stuff. We talked about Usana and his trip, but I never got the schpeel....i kept waiting....i even asked questions about it, specific questions about the product, etc. but the schpeel i was expecting wasn't there. He brought me home and said he had a DVD for me, it's about the skincare. Could he have wanted to spend time with me? I don't know what to think. But he's not demonstrative, we don't hug or anything like that. Again, i'm going to go with whatever happens. Let God take care of it.

I found a great airfare today for my trip to CA for Christmas. I know.....but it'll be here before you know it!

Cold is still there, throat is getting worse.

Mitchypoo 09-23-2004 12:13 PM

Feeling awful, my head is about to explode, my teeth and skin hurt....think i'm going home soon....

mkay 09-23-2004 04:57 PM

Almost Work Quitting Time

Angie- I make jewelry but this particular craft show I am selling "chain" type book marks and zipper pulls and custom orders for crystal bracelets. What type did you do? Glad to hear from you again.

Mitchy- Just take what you can get. Be still and know that He is God. Hey, I see Bryan Duncan is coming to your town...I'm jealous.

EZ- You are too funny about those pups. I'm just keeping my mouth shut for now with DH...and hopefully prayer will overcome things. Amen!

Sunny- How was Joe time?

I get my home computer back tomorrow...$250 dollars later. UGH

Bunna- Yeah, it is quite funny that we all have pets. LOL I did good until late this afternoon, I ate some chocolate and tonight at Shepards they are having hotdogs, bean and chips. Susie always has a plate waiting for me and I know she made it with love, so I just eat what I can and know I won't get fat from it...if...I leave the donuts alone they have there.

Well, gotta fly...bingo time it is...lots of fun things for specific people there tonight. They like that.

Hugs and so Many More Hugs,

EZMONEY 09-23-2004 06:05 PM

Thursday

HI LOOOOOOOOOOOOSERS :goodscale

Still :hot: HOT :hot: here in southern California...our typical Santa Ana conditions this time of year...everyone around this area just hoping we don't have the fires like last year. We had one start at Camp Pendelton yesterday afternoon, I could see flames shooting up when I went to pick up my nephew at tennis practice, the firemen got it out pretty quick but we still got hit with smoke for a few hours.

Had the day off work today...was relaxing in my chair this morning reading the paper when it dawned on me that I better get up and do something or the :drill: Angie would take me down when she got home

I scrubbed the sink, stove, dishwasher, microwave, counters, the kitchen trash can, the recycle trash can, the kitchen floor and "outside" of the fridge...scrubbed the dining room floor and waxed the table, dusted and vacumned the living room and vacumned the stairs and the master bedroom. Now if I have dinner ready for her when she gets home she won't "yell" at me ;) ....man oh man...can those puppies track in DIRT!!

MICHELE Hope you feel better soon...boy! you were doing sooo good yesterday! P.S. If it's me...and that ain't saying much..I wouldn't be giving a gal a DVD on skin care...maybe a chick-flick (but then I like them!!)...maybe he wants you to be a girlfriend AND a customer ;)

MKAY Have fun at bingo..we eat hot dogs here...just turkey though. Things will work out with DH..one way or the other...hang in there.

ANGIE-WANGIE Good to see you back.

Well the :queen: is due home any minute...I better go find something to dust  ...glad she NEVER checks in here...OOPS! WAIT A MINUTE--- SHE DOES!!! man am I gonna be in trouble ( :nono: ) SHE EXPECTS IT ( )!! from me.........

Angel-lover 09-23-2004 08:06 PM

Hello friends,
I wanted to stop by to thank you all for your prayers for our son and granddaughters. Things aren't ideal. That would be a reconciliation of son & DIL & a christian home. But, they are as good as can be expected. The outcome of the divorce was joint custody of the children. He gets them a week, then she gets them a week. We know they aren't taken care of properly with their mother....but, at least, they have those weeks with their dad, of going to church & getting his full attention.

About their dad...our son... He has gained quite a bit of weight. From 140 lbs to 190 lbs. He joined a gym, & is exercising regularly...looking very muscular...& soooo good looking! He doesn't take any drugs at all. Not even OTC for headaches (he has migraines). We're very proud of him. He & his ex-wife talk on the phone regularly now, about the girls. They decide together the important things for each week. This is the best we could have expected for now. All threats, etc., have died down, for now. Hopefully they will stay that way.

Thank you all so much for your friendship & prayers. Thank you Sunny, for letting me know of their continued concern. I've been praying for you all, also. God Bless You.

Angie-Wangie 09-23-2004 08:07 PM

Hi everyone!!

I had my weigh in today and lost 1.4 this week! Yay!! I have been really working hard to get these last pounds off and have finally accepted that it is probably going to take some time. :)

MKay, I did just about everything you can imagine. I did needlepoint, to florals, to painting. I did wreaths and ornaments and woodcrafts as well! I really miss it sometimes, especially the time I had to do it. Nowadays I have a full time job so I am only creative on demand, LOL.

Mitchypoo, I am sorry you are not feeling well. It sounds like you are dating and I am happy to see you have it in perspective...and letting God guide you. I am thinking that one of these days that special person will just come walking into your life and you will just 'know'. God is wonderful!

EZMONEY Thanks!! :) This is a very nice forum with lots of sweet people. I plan on visiting all the time! LOL at you having to do something before your Angie got home...it must be a trait for us Angie's! ;)

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday. For some reason this week was a bit 'blue' for me and I haven't been feeling 100%. There are lots of people at work starting to get colds so that wonderful time of the year is definitely on the way! I suspect it is because the kids get back together at school and share their diseases...LOL

wilma12 09-24-2004 09:17 AM

Angie: Way to go! I know exactly how it is. I have the same amount as you to lose and I'm finding it very difficult. Of course, if I'd stop eating things I shouldn't it would go faster. Thanks for giving me some inspiration.

Charlotte: So good to hear from you. We're still praying for you.

Gary: Hot!! What's hot?? We've had an unseasonably cool and WET summer. We can't seem to go through a day without rain.

Now that you're warmed up with all that cleaning you could come and do mine.

We have a cabinet maker coming by on Saturday to take a look at what we want done and give us an estimate. I sure hope we can do it. These renovations will give us much more dining space.

Michele: I sure hope your pain is just a temporary setback. You've been doing so well.

Sami: Good to hear from you. I am keeping you in my prayers.

mkay: YOu are also in my prayers. I am praying for you.

Bunna: It sounds like you life is really full right now. Post with us when you can.

Sunny: Hope your day is going well. I've been doing my exercises at home fairly regularly but I do admit I miss the regularity of Curves. Who knows I might end up going back some day.

Well, gotta get going to work. Have a super day!

Mitchypoo 09-24-2004 09:59 AM

Hi guys,

I went home at noon yesterday and slept all afternoon and evening. Still feeling punky, and didn't go to work. My boss was really sweet, understanding, asked if i needed anything.... i'm feeling bad about not being there, so i needed that.

So HAPPY to see Charlotte online! I'm glad things are kind of working out for dear son and ex-wife....you say he's good looking, huh? ;)....

Thank you Dear Sweet Sunny/Donna!!!:grouphug: for the e-card! Made me feel special.

Gary~not sure i get what you were saying...i should be offended he gave me that DVD or? You just keep busy so your don't make you DW upset!....Those pups are like a fulltime job anyway, huh?

OK, going back to bed.

mkay 09-24-2004 10:25 AM

Firday!

G'mornin All!

Mitchy- Rest Rest Rest is the Best when you have a cold. Just lay low and heal. Cuddle with Simba.

Charlotte- May peace reign in the households of the children and their children. I did ok eating until yesterday and now today. I ate 14 chocolate kisses. Monthly thing, and this one's not good. Glad to hear from you again!

Wilma- I hate those last 10 or so pounds. UGH! I do like the sugar yet I don't like the sugar. It's a "bittersweet" thing. Hee Hee

Angie- I understand the craft thing. One day, my daughter (probably to make fun of mom) sat down and made of list of all the crafties I've done in my life. I have to admit, it was fun because I too have done everything you can think of...even quilling (strips of paper rolled). Keep up the good work on eating healthy and glad you will be coming back...all the time.

Cinderella...er..um.. I mean EZ- I will adopt you...just make sure your suitcase is full of cleaning supplies. You can even bring the pups...hey, the whole family!

I'll probably be taking the afternoon off to prepare for tomorrow's craft show...way too much to do and will probably be up until the wee hours of the morning.

My computer man just called and is bringing my computer to me at work today so I can plug her back in today when I get home. :spin:

Well, I need some coffee to wake up from the sugar sleepies. I'll check in later!

Good Afternoon Gang...

I am sorry I am not able to post individually today, I just have a moment & wanted to touch base with you before the weekend. I have been very busy with allota little things that needed to be done ( deep cleaning and reorganizing ) and I have been decorating for the Fall... so much fun to do! We don't decorate for Halloween or Thanksgiving specifically... just for Fall and that takes us right to Christmas :) Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving we put up our tree and decorate for Christmas. I cannot believe I am taking Fall already, where did the time go this year?!

Joe and I had a great day off on Wednesday... thanks for asking everyone ;) We went shopping and the caught lunch out with Joe's sister, Maria (3 hours went by before we knew it :o )... we had so much to catch up with because had not seen her in awhile. We had a very enjoyable afternoon with her. Tonight we have a wedding to go to at 5:00 and reception at 7:00... and our weekend is another full one. Tomorrow we meet our friends in the morning as usual and should be home by noon; then we have plans to get these windows washed :crossed: Sunday after church we have a Baptism and a luncheon following and then Joe has to be at the church that evening to help a new music group out.

Our weather has been exceptionally beautiful all week!!! We are expecting another week of sunshine, crisp air :cp:
I am just loving it!

So my fellow Christians... I do hope you all have a wonderful weekend too!
So glad you enjoyed the card Michele... continue to feel better, okay :^: :goodvibes

*God Bless you all*
<><

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Bunnababy 09-24-2004 02:22 PM

Hooray on the computer Mkay. Let's not even get started on the hotdogs again, remember last time we got in trouble. I still love them though! I can probably have the Hebrew Nationals once I get back on Phase II. I am doing Phase I over again since I sooooo blew it lately. :(

Mitchy, hope you get over this cold quickly. Resting will help a bunch. Glad that your boss isn't adding to your worries. :flow2: :flow2: :flow2:

EZ, those pups will be that much work until they turn 2 then like magic they stop eating everything they can wrap their mouth around. My son has a lab-golden mix and he did the same thing. Their yard is beginning to look like a yard again now. Oregon is cooling off nicely. :cp:

Charlotte: So glad that your son and ex-dil are working to make things as good as can be the children. I worked divorce law for a long time and it isn't pretty and so much of the time the children end up being pawns in a "Let's Get Even" game.

Wilma: Yeah, I have been pretty busy lately but things are calming down. We are getting our house painted rather than trying to crowd that in too. :dancer: I think I am too obsessed about food though, the colors are coconut shrimp (trim), sage (main house), and burgundy shutters. Wine and shrimp with sage doesn't get any better than that! :cloud9:

Angie, great job on getting rid of that 1.4 lbs. No one else is allowed to get a cold now but in case you do Mitchy started it! ;) Maybe if you take it easy this weekend you won't catch it.

Sunny, sounds like a good idea decorating for fall rather than the holidays. I won't be doing any decorating this year cuz the kids are not gonna be gone for another three weeks and then we will be painting and doing the flooring so just hoping to decorate for Christmas right after Thanksgiving.

My sister went home on Wednesday so my parents have their house to themselves again. Just looked at the clock, gotta go. Love to all and have a great Friday and remember God is in charge.

Has this board always been here? I never noticed it. But I'll be sure to pop in now that I know it's here! :D

Bunnababy 09-25-2004 10:51 AM

It's been here for a while but I don't know how long. Welcome though.

I am off garage saling today with my mom. Looking for a bedroom set and a daybed for what will be our spare room in about three weeks. Hooray!!! I think I will start a countdown.

Just wanted to say good morning and hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. ;)

Take note of our thread # (#190) I usually begin a new thread after page 9, so that gives you some history on how long we've been here :D

I hope you do stop in and visit us again! :^:

Saturday

HI LADIES :coffee:

Taking a few minutes to check in before I take my son to get his car. He went with a few buddies to the first home football game of the year at his old high school....seems they went out afterwards and had a "few"...the designated driver brought him home...he left a note for me to wake him up when I want to take him to get his car...NEVER A PROBLEM!!

Angie is in the garage with her table set up making journals....the puppies are already covered in dirt (they have been since 6:00)..the grass is wet...then they go play in the dirt in the 3 flower beds (or should I say dirt boxes!) and just get MUDDY!! They were driving us crazy early this morning while we tried to read the paper so Angie put them out....at least they didn't start barking knowing we were still in the house...just what the neighbors want to hear at 6am on a Saturday  :nono:

Angie went to Brueggers Bagels this morning for the weeks bagels! Sure are good....a lot of carbs I suppose...but we don't get into that too much...if it's junk it's junk!! if it's not...eat it. Potato chips are healthy..right ;)

BUNNA Should come visit me...they have been having my neighbor, 'ol Joe's estate sale the past 2 days...I cannot believe the people..over 200 I am sure...I had to yell at a lady (WELL I PROBABLY DIDN'T HAVE TO...BUT I DID!! ) yesterday...she parked in the middle of our street...which caused quite a lot of confusion with all the people...she was in her late 20's probably, had her mom and 2 kids in the car...she kept going in loading up and then dropping it off and going back for more....there were plenty of elderly people walking for a block...anyhow after a half hour of this I went out and told the mom to move the car, it was unsafe...after a little flack from her the daughter came back and with more flack from her I got ...well...upset and let her HAVE IT...she moved the car!! Quickly, I might add ;) Enjoy the garage sales.

SUNNYD Glad to hear you and Joe had a good wedding party. Now go take a nap!! Enjoy your good weather!

WILMA I hope you have good cabinet news...they can be sooo expensive!! I know that a lot of the kitchen remodels I work on are costing the folks over $35 thousand...PRETTY NICE KITCHEN REMODELS!! but I think most of the $$$ is in the cabinets..I sure don't make much for the drywall!!

MICHELE Hope the week-end finds you feeling better. Guess what I was saying about the movie was...well if he is trying to romance you...a different movie might have been better...didn't mean anything bad...sorry if I screwed up...I am sure..POSITIVE I will again...just ask ANGIE ;)

MKAY SELL LOTS and LOTS!!

ANGIE-WANGIE Chase those blues away with a great week-end!

ANGEL-LOVER Good news from you! Prayers.

SAMI and SUE...WHERE ARE YOU GALS? Have fun.

SPROUT Walking?

FRUGAL-CHICK Welcome...been here since 2002...Wilma and Sami since 2000 I think.... ditto to what Sunny said.

Well the boy is up....gotta get a car...

Thought I'd say 'hi'

Guess it is about time right for me to say hi to everyone.
Have been keeping up with reading all the posts but with everything else going on have not done much posting.

Weight: Nothing changed here. Really need to get the food plan worked out better - still am consuming more than I am exercising off - this I no because I am not losing just maintaining.

Exercise: Still am doing my walking - over 780 miles now working on getting to that magic number of 800 miles. Will be starting up a 'new exercise program' for myself which will officially start on Monday.

It has now been 2 weeks, and 2 days that we have had to do the tough love with our son. He is staying with friends of ours (they go to our Church) so we feel good about that - but it is putting a crink into our budget as it is costing us $400 a month to have him there (that is just board and room) and then clothes, school supplies ect on top of that. He has been home 2 times and has talked to us on the internet 2 times in the last 2 weeks - but he is skirting the subject of the changes needed to be made before he returns home. When he was home on Thursday evening we did have a nice talk about a few things and his comment was 'heh, none of us are getting upset or yelling so we must be improving.' But he still is not wanting to make the necessary changes - that of listening to what the rules of the house are.

Still homeschooling our youngest (15 will be 16 in January). She is a joy to teach (she has Down Syndrome) and just laps up everything we present to her. She has brought a lot of comfort to me especially in the last 4 years - the two different occasions of battling cancer she was the one that got me through it all - it is her personality, her caring nature and the wonderful smile she has everyday.

Anyway that is about it - oh, one more thing - I am having eye surgery on Tuesday - so prayers would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I'm still new to these forums, so I don't exactly have the hang of all of it. :^: but I wanted to drop in here and say hi. :D

I'm 21yrs old, married, with a beautiful little girl (almost 2yrs old). I have been dieting for about 2 1/2 weeks now. I'm doing pretty good so far. It's hard to get the healthy foods though because I'm also a vegetarian (my family isn't) so I want to grab the easy junk food rather than cook a meal for just me.

I'm so excited finding all these resources to help me online!

Christine

Mitchypoo 09-26-2004 11:37 AM

Marilyn, happy you checked in. Sounds like you are still facing challenges but what an inspiration you are sweets. I'll be praying for you on Tuesday re: your eye surgery.

Christine! Welcome!! Hope you come back soon.

Bunnababy 09-26-2004 12:30 PM

Marilyn, happy that you had a nice visit with your son on Thursday. Prayers for Tuesday surgery and glad that you stopped in to let us know how you are doing. Also glad that your daughter is such a joy.

Mitchy: How is the cold doing?

Welcome Christine, stop by often so we can get to know you. Do you eat chicken, seafood, cheese, or eggs? Any of those choices would make your meal planning easier but I know some people don't eat any animals products at all. Good luck in your weight loss.

Well I found lots of goodies yesterday and will store them in the garage until we get our painting done. Found some great pictures for the guest room and one for my bathroom that I love. Also found two cat beds. Was looking specifically for a bedroom set and computer desk but the only desk I found needed refinished and I didn't want to pay 175 for a project. I think it is probably worth it but when will I have the time to sand it down and refinish it? I already commited to doing our bedroom set which will be a project. So keep looking, just what I needed an excuse to keep shopping! Well off to work and everyone have a really great day today.

Gary, I don't like dealing with garage salers and their parking either. They block the whole entire street while they shop but even worse they are dangerous to be behind on the road cuz they just stop to look around. Dangerous. The only thing more dangerous is crossing the street in our mall.

Mitchypoo 09-26-2004 12:52 PM

Bunna~I didn't make it to work yesterday, woke up feeling awful. I haven't really taken anything except echinacea tea, etc. But i'm going to the dr. for my back tomorrow and may ask him if he could/would give me an antibiotic. I'm very congested and blowing icky colors, so i think i have a sinus infection or bronchial. We'll see. I have Alpha tonight, we'll see how that goes and I hope to be at work tomorrow. Thanks for asking.

A Good Autumn Monday Morning to you all!

We had another beautiful Autumn Day yesterday ~ I wish it could last forever :D The day went well... we went to church and then to breakfast with our pals; came home to change went back to church for a baptism and then to a luncheon. We had a wonderful day! Joe & I had to leave at 5-ish because he had to be back at the church to help out that music director... I think it's helping her for him to go and she's working out the kinks with the teens.

*~*~*

*Welcome!* Christine!!
I too hope you will come back again, thanks for stopping in :)

Gary ~ Thanks! I am so enjoying this great weather we are having... looks like we may have a few more days of it too. My heart does go out to all those suffering the wrath of Jeanne now. It makes me all the more grateful for our nice weather! As for the nap... I DID actually squeak in about 30 min. of shut eye time before we had to head back out ;)

So Angie is getting those journals going... awesome! How is she doing these days??? Let her know I asked about her would you ;) As for you pups... they sure do get into allot of trouble. Is it getting any better as they grow? I do enjoy hearing your puppy stories

That Bagel shop sounds delish! For me... carbs are a friend, I now keep mini plain bagels in my freezer (I had one this morning with slices of our garden tomatoes on top --- yummy!) I just keep a watch over my calories now. Not really counting, I know when I have overindulged. Potato chips are just fine, Gary, if they are baked chips ;)

Our Browns did terribly yesterday against the Giants! :( A group of us were watching at the luncheon yesterday (allot of yelling at the TV  ) and many of us walked away just before the game ended --- What a bummer.

Wilma ~ How did everything turn out with the estimate? It's funny how renovating can get out of control. My friend & her hubby are in the process of renovating their kitchen too and find something they need to replace as each day of the process goes by. Allot of $$$$... I wish you *Luck!*

I haven't done well at all this month with going to Curves! I just had allot of projects I wanted to complete and I put it off --- not good! I need to go, I feel so much better when I do. I did keep walking - have gotten in a bit over 30 miles this month - just not as much as I hoped to. My goal is to get 2 - 2.5 miles a day walking and twice a week at Curves... I hope to do much better in October!

Michele ~ Are you feeling any better? :grouphug:

Angie-Wangie ~ :cp: on losing 1.4 lbs! It takes me a long time to lose as well, but as I tell my sister... we are not gaining :D We have lost and kept that off and just keep on truckin' You are doing well! Keep it up girl! And Take Care... *the blues* happen allot this time of year with the change of seasons, I know that my exercise really helps me with the blues! I feel it more so if I don't exercise - even walking 1 mile a day makes such a positive difference for me! :grouphug:

MKay ~ How did your craft show go? Did you sell allot?? :crossed: :D

How's the new computer working for you?

Bunna ~ It works out great! I enjoy decorating that way a whole lot less stress and so enjoyable to look at. I am almost finished with the cleaning (half way there)... I hope to finish today. Joe & I never did get to the windows... :dizzy: too much going on this weekend. We have plenty of time... maybe this week. I so look forward to the holiday's! I hate the way the media and shops try rush it though! They don't sway me  I take it one day at a time and enjoy it to the fullest! :)

How was your shopping at the garage sales???

Sprout ~ Always great to hear from you... you are in my continued *Prayers* especially for this Tuesday during your eye surgery! :grouphug:

Sue???? Sami???? Sherry???? DaleMarie???? Lakegirl???
Where have you all gone :?:

*~*~*

Time for me to get in my morning walk...
Have a great day gang!!!

Hi all

I'm at work this a.m. but not feeling great still. My head is killing me, still blowing icky stuff. I go to the dr. today for my back, i'll see if he'll give me an antibiotic. I'd bet i have a sinus infection....

John didn't come to Alpha last night, but had a nice night. Nobody borrowed any books? But i'm not discouraged.

More later....really behind at work.

Dieters devotions for September 27, 2004

September 27

Psalm 9:10
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

It was nice to see that the church cared so much about the ladies' group that dieted together. At the annual church planning board dinner, it was suggested that a low calorie menu be offered. Dieting was so much easier when other people understood and cooperated with you. It was gratifying to be supported by the church as if by one's own family. God had been good to the ladies of the church. God's love should be apparent in our churches. The church should be a place where we know we will be affirmed and supported. God never forsakes His children, and His children should be careful not to forsake each other.
Today's thought: No matter what, I'm not on this diet alone!

Angie-Wangie 09-27-2004 06:54 PM

Just popping in to say Hello to everyone!! The weekend went too fast like it always does :)
