Oh, Gary...........you are too funny. I never heard of that, but I KNOW you are not kidding!!

At work this a.m. feeling not too motivated. Having a :coffee: and trying to wake up. I woke up w/a sore throat, sneezing, coughing, headache. It's just hanging on. But i'm continuing to take my Super Echinacea tincture and it'll go away i suppose.

We had a frost last night! So soon....i'm not ready for the cold. It was like 59 when i went to work and it dropped to 37 in the afternoon. Weird.

Going to get my hair done tonight at 5:00, and then i have to do all that primpring us women do...... and i'm going to try and find maybe a cute top or poncho for Monday's dinner. Mkay, I love your suggestions. You sound like a lady w/style. I know it'll be geeky, but i'm going to try to remember to get a picture of us, (and then i'll post it!). I'm so excited to see him!

Mitchypoo 10-02-2004 11:15 AM

Dawn~~! i wanted to welcome you! Thanks for telling us some about you. I would be happy to help you in any way i can and if you want support, this group is wonderful!

Bunnababy 10-02-2004 01:12 PM

:coffee: Good morning all. Just popping in to say hi before I get ready for another full day.

I don't why the housepainting is going so slow but I am taking tomorrow and Monday off from any plans and will be pushing that roller back and forth to see if we can't hurry this process up a little. Then next time "I" will hire the painters so the thing gets done or do it myself. We fired the first person we hired and now my dil is taking her sweet time doing it too, getting very very frustrating and then my dh just doesn't understand my frustration. Part of my frustration last night was things didn't go well at the restaurant and the person who is supposed to dig the sewer lines for my son's place didn't show up so every day he doesn't show up that is one more day they have to live with me and one more day I have to put off the interior plans. I know what I want to do but I can't get started. Boy, talk about venting!!! :blah: :blah: :blah:

Sorry your cold is hanging on with such a vengenance Mitchy. Hope everyone has a really great weekend and I am planning on having a less stressful day today than yesterday. :headache: :bomb: :fr:

Love to all.

Sunday

HI GALS

Taking a few minutes between football games to post. My RAIDERS lost but boy what a game yesterday for my DODGERS!! They won their division over the dreaded GIANTS. Went to church this morning with the nephew, Angie and her daughter were at another soccer game. My daughter came up yesterday from school and spent the day with me, my son had an all day/night party with the kids from his college credential class at the beach. He missed watching the DODGERS with me and was sooo bummed...ya just can't always be in two places at once...the thing about the game yesterday though is it is one for the baseball/Dodger history books....the final inning and play of the game with the grand slam from Finley will be shown for years to come.

MKAY Sent that journal yesterday, you should get it by weeks end. Sorry about the dh troubles...it is so sad to "pick" at things...boy have MY EX and WIFE ever done that...thank goodness I'M NOT LIKE THAT!! ;) Have fun with the bow...I could never figure out those things the few times I tried.

MICHELE Hope you feel better (my goodness...seems like all my posts to you start like that)...I hope you feel WONDERFUL Monday night!! Good luck with the WA guy.

BUNNA I didn't make it to Costco this week-end, I should go after work one day this week...we shall see. Hope the painting goes well today and next week...remodels can take a loooooong time to finish!!

SUNNYD Love the fridge! Looks like a "MODEL" on the inside!!! I would take a picture of ours but I am afraid that would be the end of Angie and me ;) ...but with all these kids and their "stuff" we learned to use the OPEN and SHOVE method  now my fridege in the garage with MY rootbeer and beer is CLEAN!!

SUE Well what did you think of the debate? I listened to most of it on my way home after Amanda's match, I thought Bush held his own (was looking for a little more promise there) and I thought Kerry improved his image (not exactly what "I" was hoping for)...should be a close one in November. Here is hoping your 2nd mom is doing well.

Well hi to the rest of you...hope you find time this week to check in.

Back to the recliner....boy am I ever glad now that I did my chores friday night and yesterday!!....gonna go check out my fridge in the garage and clean out a couple of those beer bottles ;)

wilma12 10-03-2004 10:53 PM

Hi!

We had a relaxing day today. Went to church in the a.m. and then hosted DS's and their girlfriends and 2 of their friends for dinner. After dinner DH and I went to see some show homes to get ideas for our kitchen. Found some too. What colors do you guys find are popular right now? We found that mainly earthtones are still in. Great! I love them.

I was very disappointed yesterday when the cabinet guy didn't show or call for the second time. I don't think he's getting any more chances from me. We do have a line on a couple more guys and will call them to give us estimates. I thought this other guy would be good because he was recommened by a good friend who uses him in his cabinet business. Must just be too busy or needs to work on his communication skills.

Gary: Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day today too. You deserve it!

Bunna: How did the painting go? It's so hard to work around family members. We're not even touching the family room until our guys leave home. It's not worth it.

Michele: I sure hope you're feeling better. Did you find something to wear for your evening tomorrow? Have fun!!

Dawn: A BIG WELCOME to you! You sound like you're doing great. Hopefully you will find support here to get the job done.

mkay: I'm still praying for you! Love the clothing advice you gave Michele. You should become a personal shopper!!

Sunny: Nice fridge! Someday, when ours breaks down I'm going to get one with an ice maker in it. We had one in the house we rented and loved it.

Sami: How are you doing? Talk to us!

Well, gotta go get ready for bed and a new week of work. GOOD NIGHT!

Mitchypoo 10-04-2004 09:59 AM

Hi all

I'm feeling great! Back is good, cold is really pretty much gone. That Super Echinacea tincture has really helped. I did some shopping on Sat. afternoon and got my hair done, so i'm pretty ready for tonight. Bunna, I think you are right, Mkay just sounds like a woman with style. I am wearing my back boot cut dress pants, black top that i bought on sale this weekend, very plain, has a satin ribbon around the top that bows and i'll wear my sheer black angora poncho.

Alpha was nice last night, quite a few people loaned books and CD's. I was asked to lead the group every other time which I did last night. We had a great group and really interesting conversation.

I'm still so excited about my date tonight! Whatever happens, happens, i'm just looking forward to seeing him.

Michele

mkay 10-04-2004 11:26 AM

Cough, Sneeze, Wipe Eyes, Blow Nose, etc.

Well, since I'm home with Mitchy's cold, I can chat ALL DAY LONG...

Where do I begin...

Dawn...Welcome...I did SB and lost 20 lbs and now I'm up 3. Bunna and I are going to do Phase I for two weeks to give another jump start. My jump start hasn't gone real good already...but we have new eating mercies every day. Just keep some almonds on hand...they are a great snack and satisfy the cravings. Just don't go overboard on them. Hang in there.

Mitchy...I'm soooooo excited for you tonight. Aren't you glad I took your cold from you? I would love you to wear a pair of crystal earrings I make and then have them sparkle all over when the light hits them.

Bunna...Hi Ho Hi Ho...off to the beach we go. I know the last two days of my menu were embarrassing but I need to be accountable. DH and I are doing alright again. Boy oh boy...do we go up and down...alot.

Wilma... DH added 600 sq. ft to our house and our enormous kitchen was one of them. Our "earthy" colors begin with a pinkish/terracota color, the counter with the same color plus some grey and charcoal, tile for the backsplash and a tile floor along with a huge 3sided fire place. I will get the camera from work and try to post some pics for you. It is quite lovely and he did do a great job.

Sunny...I showed DH your fridge...I absoutely love it. I wouldn't dare take a pic of mine...empty and not as tidy as yours.

EZ...I never heard of the Cheerio thing...too funny. Sounds like you had a quality time with your daughter.

Saturday I took a gal from the Shepherds out for the day. I found out that my tiny little car can fit a big bow case and a wheelchair just fine. I now have new muscles as well.

I LOVED the archery. I will be back there practicing. It's not far from my work so I could go there at lunch time. I want to beat DH's butt as far as archery. :o

We also went to the craft stores and out to lunch. She's the one that really had a cold and I'm sure I caught the germ. Oh well.

Went to Life Team Saturday night. DH tried to get there but he was up north doing a furnace on a cabin and couldn't make it back in time.

Sunday, I didn't go to church due to my yuky cold and laid around all day. Oh, I did make a few bookmarks for the next craft show and a crystal baby bracelet for a lady. Watched TV from about 3:00 until midnight.

My nose and eyes aren't watering nearly as much today. I do love being home. I organized the kitchen "junk drawer" already today and cleaned the kitchen real good (tonight is healthy eating at our house).

Well, I probably chatted long enough BUT...I will be checking in later today...BECAUSE I'M HOOOOOOME!

Hugs!

Mitchypoo 10-04-2004 11:59 AM

Hi, Mkay, sorry you now have the crud. :( Lots of rest, fluids, and TLC. Hey, If i sent you a pic of my black and crystal bracelet, would you make me a pair of earrings? That would be sooooo cool. Oh, glad to hear you and DH are doing better. Ya, I can hardly stand being here today at work, want to go home and primp! ;)

Mitchypoo 10-04-2004 12:59 PM

Lonnie called, we're set for tonight!! :cb:

mkay 10-04-2004 01:25 PM

Third try to post...

Mitchy...heck yeah, just send me a pic. It takes a whole 10 minutes to make up a pair of earrings. I've been trying to post a pic of some, but I don't have my photo stuff on computer since I crashed. I need to resize the pic. Sorry!

Anyway, hair? Up or down?

mkay 10-04-2004 01:59 PM

Attachment from Mkay

Mitchy...Here's the pic of the jewelry set.

Bunnababy 10-04-2004 03:10 PM

Mitchy, so glad that your cold cleared up for your big night out. I bet you are so excited you can hardly stand it. Your clothes sound great. Wishing you a really great evening.

Mkay, the jewelry is great. My favorite colors. I have to admit your kitchen sounds pretty great too. Sounds like you and dh have really good taste. Can't wait to see pictures.

Wilma, I am with you not going to do anything to the inside until the kids are out. Kind of what's the point :?: The outside will be done by Wed. though.

Gary, a day of rest :dizzy: How could you do that? Yeah the Raiders didn't do so good. I haven't even gotten to watch football this year yet. I have to work tonight so no Monday night game either. Just have to check ESPN when I get home.

Sunny, where are you, off having a fun weekend again?

Hello to everyone else. Hope you all have a blessed day.

Mitchypoo 10-04-2004 03:41 PM

Mkay, that set is gorgeous! How much for that? I'll send a pic asap and i'd love a pair of earrings. I need to get busy and make some tatted, beaded earrings for Christmas and my Mom asked me to make a tatted doily for one of her friends. I'm almost done with the baby sweater, hat too. And oh, the hair, i'm wearing it down, i only wear it up at home. I don't think it looks so great up. And yes Bunna......having a REALLY hard concentrating on work today.

mkay 10-04-2004 06:00 PM

Me Again!

Mitchy- I don't remember what I sold it for and I don't even remember to who. My memory is NOT doing so good. :dizzy:

The bracelets, depending on crystal size and size of sterling, range from $25 to $40 and rarely $40. Earrings usually $7 to $10 and necklace like that one probably $25 to $30. I'm only guessing on the bracelet and necklace...I don't have that one in the jewelry pricing program I have.

My goal (someday) is to have a web page with some selections on it and people can buy from there or custom order something. That way I don't have to spend the $$$ to have stock sitting around.

Well, one more hour before the healthy eating class gets here. I'm really not in the mood for it tonight. I'd rather just sit and veg.

Later Friends!

Hi Everyone,

*~*~*

Bunna ~ Here I am... ;) I am glad you liked the fridge pictures. I hope you will be able to get one soon.

We did allot over the weekend and had such a good time, but I sure paid for it today!! I had such a bad flare-up this morning and got so sick. I have been on a heating pad all day and it hurt too much to sit this morning & post. But I am doing so much better now, just feeling tired from not feeling well today. I'll be just fine tomorrow... like nothing even happened.

Saturday ~ In the morning we didn't meet Mike & Peg (our pals) like usual... we had breakfast at home and then we went shopping together leaving at 9am... FUN SHOPPING / WINDOW SHOPPING mostly, no grocery shopping. Just did allot of looking around and getting ideas for what we would like to do someday. It was a rainy day till about 1:00 & nice day for shopping --- we got home at around 3:00 all tuckered out. I cannot believe the people out shopping and doing what we were doing... just checking out prices and getting ideas looking at new things. There are some really nice things out there!!! We did find a small table for next to Joe's chair. We have been looking for months and finally found one. It comes in on Wednesday... can't wait!! It is a cute little painted table with a small drawer. When we get it I will get a picture of it to send you., okay. It only cost $130.00 (on sale!) Really cute! I am so glad we didn't rush into buying one when we wanted one... I love this one. We have been using a TV tray. When we got home we both just putts around the house doing small things & getting everything ready for church.

Sunday ~ A Beautiful Day!!!! After church we went out with our friends (Mike, Peg & DD-Lisa) to breakfast; we got home at around 11am and I straightened up here and made a lunch for me & my tummy. Then they came over to our home at 12:30 and we all went on a Century Home Tour from 1-5pm... what a Beautiful Day we had!!! We toured through 5 homes all built in the 1800's --- what struck Joe & I funny was that the homes had allot of period furnishings and items and then you would get to the living-rooms to find the big screen TV's with surround sound... it just hit us in the funny bone. It was so cool to see all the ladies wearing their Fall sweater's for the tour... me too :D After the tour we all went out to dinner and then got home at around 7pm and we both put our jammies on and chilled out to TV!!! We were both so very tired! I think that is what triggered my flare-up this time --- just too much activity (we did allot of walking), I was so careful with my foods and even brought my own with me... oh well. I'll live... :dizzy:

Michele ~ I hope that you are having a wonderful time on your date... sorry I haven't been here --- I feel left out of all your primping fun with MKay :( Cannot wait to hear all about it!

Gary ~ You are too funny... like my fridge, do ya  Remember... it's just me and Joe here, so it stays pretty tidy. Enjoyed your Cheerio story... my grandmother use to do that to us

How was your weekend? Yeah :cheer: for your Dodgers and their win!! Our Browns won 17/10... but it really could have been a better game by them. I wasn't able to catch the whole game because we were gone all day, but we listened to it on the radio when we could.

Joe & I watched the debate too... and even though we were disappointed in how our President presented himself, it doesn't change our minds on whom is the best person for the position! I wasn't good at taking tests either, but that doesn't make me stupid :smug: Nuff said... don't want to get booted off here because we aren't suppose to speak of these things in our post :o sure don't want to get turned in :D

MKay ~ Beautiful jewelry Set!!! You sure do make some really nice jewelry!!!

Gotta go lay down... catch you all tomorrow ;)

*~*~*

Wilma ~ :o I am so very sorry... :^: I didn't see your post till just now. Glad you enjoyed the pictures of the fridge too... we have a huge ice maker in the freezer at the bottom. I know what you mean... until we got this fridge we didn't have an ice maker either - they sure are nice!

Sounds like you had a nice weekend too! Busy! Earthtones are definately IN still!!! I must agree with you... you gave that cabinet guy chances I may not have given him and he really let you down... it is time to find someone who wants the job! I sure wouldn't want someone to begin the job and then leave me hangin' and it sounds like something he would have done to you. Good thing you found out now! Wishing you *Luck* in finding someone.

Good~Night...

Hi all

I had SUCH a wonderful time last night!!   I gave him bad directions, the exit i told him was closed for construction, i didn't even think he'd find the place, when i went in, he wasn't there....... i was preparing to be very disappointed....but then this great looking guy came through the turnstyle doors and it was like there was no time between us. We hugged, it was so nice to see him. We had a great dinner, we ordered the same thing, and we talked, we laughed..... they asked us to leave when it was about 11:00 and we were the only ones in the restaurant still there.....although I didn't realize that until then. He walked me to my car.....we hugged....he kissed me :o :dizzy: I have a permanent smile on my face today....too silly. I'll post a few pics tonight.

mkay 10-05-2004 10:38 AM

Home Again!

Mitchy- Weeeeee! Yippie Tye Aye Yea! I loooove hearing the romance stories. Where does this man live? I am so happy you had fun! You will need plastic surgery to get that smile off your face.

How's your concentration level today? What did you both order to eat? Really, I'm not playing 20 questions...30 maybe but not 20.

Healthy Eating went well...we made Hummus; all organic and very tasty. Then the instructor did a showing and demo of Essential Oils (youngliving). The oils are biblical, etc. That was fun as well. THEN...Anna, one of the ladies (probably in her 70s and sorta heavy) fell in our bushes out front. She could have help getting up due to a weak right arm and so she had to struggle to her knees and then use the steps to get her back on her feet. By the time the 10 minutes were up we were all in laughter. If only I had a camera. She did not get hurt BUT...the bushes (Gary's fav) cracked and now have a huge hole in them. I'm just glad we all have a sense of humor. And me...having a weak bladder...must I say any more?

Well, my mom just called me and is on her way over (not the norm). Bye all, and since I'm home today...I will be checking in again.

I love this forum!

Hugs and More Hugs,

Bunnababy 10-05-2004 01:08 PM

Mitchy: Oohh la la  So glad you had a wonderful time. :cloud9: Just goes to prove that John is not the one lighting any fires with you. :flame:

Sunny, glad you had such a great weekend although could have done with out the payment. I figures out how to earn my fridge, when I hit the 100 lbs lost mark I get any fridge I want with any extras I want. DH promised. So I expect youy guys to keep me on the straight and narrow. I only have 78.5 to go. :coach: I am gonna go to the store and get a flyer on the one I want and post it in the kitchen and at the restaurant.

I worked last night so all day today and then off tomorrow then Costco shopping on Thursday. I spotted a Splenda cookbook there last week so will spend more time thumbing through this week and see how it looks. I made beans yesterday and had no eggs this morning so eating beans again. They are good though, a recipe I got off the SBD boards here.

Mkay, I may want some of those earrings. I love the ones you have posted and I was thinking I could put them on and then rub them every time I am tempted to eat and I will think of my friends here instead of myself and food. Kind of like a worry stone except that I would say prayers for the encouragement board people. Oh yeah love the avatar!

My son's dog chewed up my charm bracelet  that had the grandkids birthstones on it. I thought about strangling  him but...I would have felt guilty later.

I was so excited cuz someone told me they were opening a Bath and Body Works in the mall but my excitement was short-lived because it isn't them and another customers last night told me not to get excited cuz the one that opened wasn't all that impressive in comparison. Guess I will keep shopping out of town for that kind of stuff. Darn it.

I am waffling so off to get ready for work. Everybody have a wonderful day and hi to Gary, Wilma, Sue, Dawn and Sami.

Hi Bunna ~ The quote above...I don't understand what you mean??

Now that's a real goal! Lose the weight and get a bigger fridge that will hold more food  Just foolin' around with you... I think it's great the DH will get you the fridge you want once you lose. The flyer is a great idea!! You will do it!!!! :cheer: There are allot of great recipes on that SBD board! I use Splenda too and use it in place of sugar even in baking. I also use applesauce to replace the oil in my baking to reduce the fat... it works great! I just don't bake as long as the recipe calls for or it dries out the bakery --- just gotta watch it.

I love Bath & Body Works! Joe gets me Christmas Gifts from there each year. He buys me so much that it usually last till the next Christmas --- I look forward to getting new & different products each year from him :) He knows to ask a clerk for help, giving them ideas as to what I enjoy... so far he has done real good each year ;)

Michele ~ I think it's just wonderful that you have found someone that makes you feel like a young school girl again... Reading your post I remember those feelings when Joe & I dated. So adorable!!! I am so very happy for you... enjoy!

MKay ~ Sounds like you are glad that you had that Healthy Eating Class now... good that you pushed through your fatigue and enjoyed it. The food sounds great... is there a title/name to this class? Is it a nutritionist from the hospital? How did you hear about it??

 I am glad to hear that the lady who fell in the bushes is okay... I bet you all laughed till your tummies hurt!!! Just too funny!!!

*~*~*

Quiet day for me today... I am still not quite up-to-par, but am feeling a little better today. When I have flare-ups it usually takes me 2-4 days to feel really good again... ... bummer! :(

Later...

Awwww...you can stop missing me!! I am here :) Just got off of work and am catching up on ya'lls posts. I was just reading about Mitchy's date! How exciting! :D:D:D:D:D

I believe this weeks weigh in is going to be a good one. I am still losing..just sllllloooowwww...

I learned at church Sunday that we are going to start a series called "33 days of Stewardship". Anyone familiar with this program? It looks interesting, just haven't had a chance to read through it yet. :)

I am all decorated for Halloween, I have got to quit going to Wal-Mart though, they have the cutest scarecrows for CHEAP and my husband is going to freak if I buy another one...heh heh.

Hi Angie-Wangie
I am so glad to see you :^: and to hear that you are doing so well on your program. :cp: I am a very slow loser too (I hear that slow and gone forever was the best way to lose ;) ). I have lost another pound as of October 1st :D so now I am down 24lbs. (yeah). I try real hard not to weigh-in too much or I get discouraged. Once or twice a month is what I do now...

Nope, can't say that I have heard of the "33 Days of Stewardship" but I do know that there are a couple churches here doing the 40 days of study in "The Purpose Driven Life". I have the book and journal myself --- just haven't stopped to read them yet. Felt like it would be good for me to study during the winter months of being closed up and that it would keep me focused and out of the winter blues ;) You must come back and let us know what that involves...

Yes... Wal-Mart has the cutest things for such a good price! Joe & I don't decorate for Halloween (per say) we just decorate for the Fall; then it takes us right into Thanksgiving :D It works for us being we haven't any children. Sounds like your place is really  !

Good to see you Angie :^:

Gooood Eeeeevneeeeing!

Hello All...

Sunny...The Healthy Eating started out...
A lady from my church had breast cancer. She was told that without treatment, she would last maybe a year. She did not claim this and claimed God's Word that By His stripes we are healed and hung onto His promises. She totally and I mean totally changed her eating habits, all organic, oils, etc. and believed in her healing. She finally found an oncologist (sp) to monitor her "self-treatment" and has NO cancer. She dedicated her life to a healthy lifestyle and God told her to teach it. Opportunities came up that looked her square in the eye regarding teaching this way of life to people. One day at church I had kitchen clean-up duty and she was preparing food. I didn't know her but we started chatting and healthy eating came up. She said she wanted to teach it as a Small Group within our church but was disappointed that she didn't have a kitchen big enough to do that. I told her that I have this huge kitchen that can hold easily 10-12 people and an peninsula where she could do the demonstrating. She couldn't believe it, but she came over and checked things out and presto chango...I'm holding her small group in my kitchen.

Whew...all that chatting...I'm beat! Sunny, I hope you feel better tomorrow after a good night's rest.

I hope I remember the work camera to bring home tomorrow and then I will take pictures of all kinds of stuff and bore everyone with pic posts.

Bunna- Hey baby...we're gonna be watching you...and weighing you...and praying for you and all of us.

Angie Wangie-33 days of stewardship sounds good. After this 10 week stint of KP duty for Alpha and the other bible studies on Wednesdays, I may take a bible study on that night for the next session instead of KP duty.

Mitchy...Where Areeeee you? Dreaming? Posting pics? That's only question #7.

EZ- received the package today in the mail and I'm going to bed shortly and open it up and read.

Wilma- Kitchen progress?

Sprout- Missing your scriptures.

Dawn- MIA

Ya know...I need a list of all of us...my memory chip needs overhauling or updating.

Hugs and Goodnight All! p.s. Done playing at home...going to work tomorrow.

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone!

MKay ~ What a great thing you did in opening up your home :flow1: How wonderful that she was healed from her cancer just by changing her diet & being so open to the word and power of God's healing --- that gives me allot of hope for health and well-being! I wish we had a program like that here that I could go to!! I thank-you very much for sharing that with me and the others :^: Another question for you: How often do you all get together?

Thank-you I am feeling ALLOT better today!

Ohhh... don't you worry about Michele, she's lurking around ;) I see her out there. When are you coming back to tell us how things are going since your date, Michele? ;) :smug:

Gary ~ I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but I would love to have one of Angie's Journals also... is it too late for me to have one sent? You just let me know how much I owe you for it. Thanks!

*~*~*

Well... it's that time for me to get in my morning walk :tread:

Hi All (From Work)

SunnyD- We meet one time a month and everyone brings an ingredient...organic of course.

I finally have some work to do today, so I will catch ya all later.

EZ- My oh my...what a great journal. I started filling it out already. I will be visiting the website later. What do I owe for that book?

wilma12 10-06-2004 09:14 AM

You guys, Michele is on Cloud Nine right now. She'll be back soon! ;)

Well, we had a meeting with a guy who might do our cabinets. He was very hopeful but wasn't promising anything. He'll get back to us in a few days with an estimate and time frame. I am so thankful that I can use most of my old cabinets. They are still in great shape and we're saving ourselves thousands of dollars. I look forward to when it's all finished.

I got in my 2 miles this a.m. and am planning healthy meals. I have a hair appt. today after work. I'm looking forward to it. My hairdresser is trying some new things with my hair and I'm letting her have free reign. So far I like what she's doing and I can cut it all off again if I get tired of it.

Gotta get to work. Have a super day!

Hi guys,

Having major problems at work with the computer, have to unplug to use the keyboard and then reconnect to the USB port to try and print.....anyway, just wanted to say hi and yes i HAVE been on and last night i tried to post pics, but computer at home kept shutting down, just when i was almost ready to send, twice!!!! Arrrgh! I got too frustrated. I WILL try again..and yes i'm on Cloud 9 although now i can start torturing myself with.....wonder if he'll call? When? What's next? Maybe he didn't like me after all? But as I told my mother last night...it is in God's hands and i'm going to go with it. Besides I'm too busy now to worry about such things.

Tonight I start my training. Will be a long night. I'll hopefully post pics, maybe later tonight.

Hi to all  You guys are so fun, i love my 3fc friends!

October 6, 2004 dieters devotions

October 6

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Kip was amazed at how easily he took the stairs. When his kids had begged him to climb to the top of the Statue of Liberty with them, he had squirmed. He remembered what a labor it had been when he was fat. He knew that he never would have made it before. Instead of a painful trauma, he found the climb a relative breeze. Thank God he had been able to lose the weight. It was the best move he ever made. It had been tough, but Kip had relied heavily on God to help him out. While he had been dieting, he had needed God's strength. Now that he was thin, God let him use his own strength once again.
Today's thought: Food gives us temporary strength. God gives us strength forever!

October 6, 2004 - Devotions for nibblers

Watching for a sign

Luke 11:16 says
Others, to test him, kept demanding from him a sign from heaven.

As we sipped our tea, my friend said, "If I'm really supposed to lose weight, why doesn't God give me a sign?"

God probably has given her a sign. At her last checkup, her blood pressure was high and she was found to be hovering at the edge of diabetes. God was surely speaking through her test results.

Maybe our first sign from God comes when we can't buttom up our jeans or when we look awful in a favorite dress. Most of us don't see those events as heavenly messages, because we think God has to speak throuogh the thunder, or send down some handwriting on the wall. The trick is recognizing signs in everyday things and events and remembering that God is always nearby, always sending words of encouragement and directon.

For further reflection
On a journal page, list the ways God has already shown you that you need to examine your relationship with food. Then list the ways you plan to respond to God's sign.

Prayer
Open my eyes and ears, my God, so that I may see what You hold in store for me.

Some food for thought (from a Bible Study I am doing)

If Jesus were with you in His physical body and spend the entire day with you, how would His presence affect:
* where you go?
* what you do?
* what you say?
* what you eat?

Bunnababy 10-06-2004 12:47 PM

Thanks Marilyn, I really was missing those morning readings. Boy the last one is food for thought about what we do, say, speak. We need so to remember that Jesus is walking with us right now. Also at my weight there were many many signs that I was outside God's will with my eating but Satan helped me come up with excuses for not dealing with it. How are you doing? :goodvibes

Mkay, back to work :stress: probably with everything to catch up on what you missed Monday. That class sounds interesting. :goodvibes It fits right in with SBD thinking on eating whole natural foods. :chef:

Mitchy: Sorry about the computers, :comp: how aggrevating

Gary, are they keeping you hopping this week? :dancer:

Wilma, what great news about being able to use some of the existing cabinets. What a :gift: Hopefully, this guy will keep his word about getting around to stuff. I am getting my hair cut soon, I am donating it so I need to have an extra 8 inches other than the 10 they cut and I think I am pretty close to that. Gonna talk to my hairdresser today about it. :goodluck:

As for me today I am going to vacuum my mom's house then work all day again. I was supposed to paint but someone could not work again so my son and dil are finishing the house today. So hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go.

Hello to everyone else. Hope you all have a wonderful day today. :balloons:

Wednesday Afternoon & Still Kickin!

Sunny- We also had one of those classes and dedicated it to raw foods. That was awesome. The organic is too pricey for me but then so is SB. Hmmm...maybe I'm on to something here. The hummus recipe was great. I will post it if you want me to.

Well, made it through a workday. DH called me and asked me to come home for lunch...he locked himself out of the house. Awwww...He did have lunch for me and was very appreciative.

KP duty for me tonight. UGH! I'm hoping everyone shows up tonight and there are one too many...I will nicely volunteer to go home.

My very dear friend Beth and I were discussing how we are just so out of life these days. No passion about anything. We decided that we don't know how to embrace life. How does one do that?

Our first thing is tonight, just for ourselves, we are going to light our favorite candle and just burn it. Just for ourselves. I'm going to enjoy mine while I read devotions.

Our second thing is to live outside the box so Friday, she will be going to a football game without DH (her daughter has something to do at it). This is SO not her. But...I'm challenging her to actually strike up a conversation with someone. Outside her box.

My outside box is to go practice my bow at lunch time. She even wants to go with me.

We have more embracing to do this weekend. I think we both need to get outside and embrace nature.

I don't think God wants us to be sheltered in our houses all the time. On earth as it is in heaven.

Who else wants to go outside the box this week? Let me know! :)

Catch ya all later!

Wednesday

HI LOOOOOSERS

I have been busy...but....Ron and Ryan have been on the computer almost non-stop the last few days with homework stuff.

Not too much time today so I will have to be quick.

SUNNYD I already sent you a journal, didn't I...it was about 6 or 8 months ago...it is the same one as before, however if you don't have it or need another I will send one. As far as the cheerios...my mom told me that after mama..dada..my first words were didio's..I would tell my grandma "didio's gammaw didio's"...however, now (as much as I love them) if I eat them for breakfast then go to work and have to bend over much...ooo! on the tummy.

MKAY Glad you like the journal..keep using it!! The website isn't up yet, maybe this week-end..I will let you know...no charge for yours...as I said Angie is not trying to solicit from my 3FC ladies...some of the other gals have asked for them and given great feed-back (thank MICHELE for the amount of water intake per day glasses!! )
As far as embracing life...heck dear, we all go through sluggish times...but God's word is true and without a doubt no matter how sad we are if we continue to look towards His promises we find happiness eventually...as He says GIVE and then we will receive...explore HIS adventures for us (just as you are doing this friday I might add!) if you lived here you could go to the high school football games with us...I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS!! of course I LOVE ALL SPORTS!!

MICHELE Lookin' for those pictures Miss Hottie ;)

WILMA good luck with the cabinet man..sometimes (as I am sure he told you) you can just replace the doors and hardware to save $$$$

BUNNA Hey dear, they are repainting the house across the street to resale..ol Joe's..should I give them your #

SPROUT, SUE, ANGIE and any one I forgot...HELLO! oops! where have you been SAMI? I almost forgot you!! sorry.

sami 10-06-2004 10:05 PM

Hello I am so sorry I have been MIA. I am stressed to my breaking point right now. Please Pray for my MOM she is going in to have her biopsy thursday. My MIL is doing alright. But she is worried that the step son who had nothing to do with his DAD and didn't even come to the services for his father is now trying to protest the will. My SFIL had a lot of money in stocks and the will says my MIL gets proceeds until she dieds and then his sons get the stock after she is gone. The Sad thing is He makes very good money. So he is just greedy. I will try to post more often please forgive me for not post to each one. But I just wanted to let you know I am keeping all of you in my prayers. And I have really missed your posts.
Will try to post more Friday,
Sami

mkay 10-07-2004 10:14 AM

Thursday...sneaking a break...

Mitchy- WHEW...those eyes...he is hot and red is his color. ok...I want your hair. How beautiful...don't get it cut...ever! Black is a good color with that hair. Have you heard from him? Don't you hate that period of time after the first date...it's mind boggling.

EZ- I was explaining my "embracing" thing to a sister-friend of mine and she e-mailed me a prayer that I wasn't expecting. It touched my heart and when I got home from work I thought that maybe I need to embrace myself first. And to embrace myself, I must love myself more and value myself more which leads to taking better care of myself. BUT FIRST...I long to embrace my Father; and you are right...things will go from there. Thank you for your words of wisdom. I'm hoping today's journaling will look better than yesterday. I just hate writing the work "junk" for my meals and snacks.

Sami- Be still my friend and unwind. I will keep you in my prayers (I do all of you anyway).

I have to get back to work. Public notices MUST go out by Monday and I have a ways to go yet.

Thanking God for all of you!
Mary

Dieters devotions for October 7, 2004

October 7

Hebrews 10:39
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Darren felt bad withdrawing from the group, but he had to. The other three men kept cheating on their diets, and that was no help at all. Each time they gave in to temptation, Darren asked himself why he tried so hard when everyone else quit. Darren needed strength and support, not more temptation. At least on his own he stood a fighting chance. Darren prayed for guidance. Dieting was hard enough without other people making it harder. We need to attach ourselves to those who are serious and committed to losing weight. God will help us have all the strength we need to keep on our diets.
Today's thought: The weight that I've lost, was of minimal cost!
