Default Thought I'd say 'hi'

Guess it is about time right for me to say hi to everyone.
Have been keeping up with reading all the posts but with everything else going on have not done much posting.

Weight: Nothing changed here. Really need to get the food plan worked out better - still am consuming more than I am exercising off - this I no because I am not losing just maintaining.

Exercise: Still am doing my walking - over 780 miles now working on getting to that magic number of 800 miles. Will be starting up a 'new exercise program' for myself which will officially start on Monday.

It has now been 2 weeks, and 2 days that we have had to do the tough love with our son. He is staying with friends of ours (they go to our Church) so we feel good about that - but it is putting a crink into our budget as it is costing us $400 a month to have him there (that is just board and room) and then clothes, school supplies ect on top of that. He has been home 2 times and has talked to us on the internet 2 times in the last 2 weeks - but he is skirting the subject of the changes needed to be made before he returns home. When he was home on Thursday evening we did have a nice talk about a few things and his comment was 'heh, none of us are getting upset or yelling so we must be improving.' But he still is not wanting to make the necessary changes - that of listening to what the rules of the house are.

Still homeschooling our youngest (15 will be 16 in January). She is a joy to teach (she has Down Syndrome) and just laps up everything we present to her. She has brought a lot of comfort to me especially in the last 4 years - the two different occasions of battling cancer she was the one that got me through it all - it is her personality, her caring nature and the wonderful smile she has everyday.

Anyway that is about it - oh, one more thing - I am having eye surgery on Tuesday - so prayers would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I'm still new to these forums, so I don't exactly have the hang of all of it. but I wanted to drop in here and say hi.

I'm 21yrs old, married, with a beautiful little girl (almost 2yrs old). I have been dieting for about 2 1/2 weeks now. I'm doing pretty good so far. It's hard to get the healthy foods though because I'm also a vegetarian (my family isn't) so I want to grab the easy junk food rather than cook a meal for just me.

I'm so excited finding all these resources to help me online!

Marilyn, happy that you had a nice visit with your son on Thursday. Prayers for Tuesday surgery and glad that you stopped in to let us know how you are doing. Also glad that your daughter is such a joy.

Mitchy: How is the cold doing?

Welcome Christine, stop by often so we can get to know you. Do you eat chicken, seafood, cheese, or eggs? Any of those choices would make your meal planning easier but I know some people don't eat any animals products at all. Good luck in your weight loss.

Well I found lots of goodies yesterday and will store them in the garage until we get our painting done. Found some great pictures for the guest room and one for my bathroom that I love. Also found two cat beds. Was looking specifically for a bedroom set and computer desk but the only desk I found needed refinished and I didn't want to pay 175 for a project. I think it is probably worth it but when will I have the time to sand it down and refinish it? I already commited to doing our bedroom set which will be a project. So keep looking, just what I needed an excuse to keep shopping! Well off to work and everyone have a really great day today.

Gary, I don't like dealing with garage salers and their parking either. They block the whole entire street while they shop but even worse they are dangerous to be behind on the road cuz they just stop to look around. Dangerous. The only thing more dangerous is crossing the street in our mall.

Bunna~I didn't make it to work yesterday, woke up feeling awful. I haven't really taken anything except echinacea tea, etc. But i'm going to the dr. for my back tomorrow and may ask him if he could/would give me an antibiotic. I'm very congested and blowing icky colors, so i think i have a sinus infection or bronchial. We'll see. I have Alpha tonight, we'll see how that goes and I hope to be at work tomorrow. Thanks for asking.

A Good Autumn Monday Morning to you all!

We had another beautiful Autumn Day yesterday ~ I wish it could last forever The day went well... we went to church and then to breakfast with our pals; came home to change went back to church for a baptism and then to a luncheon. We had a wonderful day! Joe & I had to leave at 5-ish because he had to be back at the church to help out that music director... I think it's helping her for him to go and she's working out the kinks with the teens.

*~*~*

*Welcome!* Christine!!
I too hope you will come back again, thanks for stopping in

Gary ~ Thanks! I am so enjoying this great weather we are having... looks like we may have a few more days of it too. My heart does go out to all those suffering the wrath of Jeanne now. It makes me all the more grateful for our nice weather! As for the nap... I DID actually squeak in about 30 min. of shut eye time before we had to head back out

So Angie is getting those journals going... awesome! How is she doing these days??? Let her know I asked about her would you As for you pups... they sure do get into allot of trouble. Is it getting any better as they grow? I do enjoy hearing your puppy stories

That Bagel shop sounds delish! For me... carbs are a friend, I now keep mini plain bagels in my freezer (I had one this morning with slices of our garden tomatoes on top --- yummy!) I just keep a watch over my calories now. Not really counting, I know when I have overindulged. Potato chips are just fine, Gary, if they are baked chips

Our Browns did terribly yesterday against the Giants! A group of us were watching at the luncheon yesterday (allot of yelling at the TV ) and many of us walked away just before the game ended --- What a bummer.

Wilma ~ How did everything turn out with the estimate? It's funny how renovating can get out of control. My friend & her hubby are in the process of renovating their kitchen too and find something they need to replace as each day of the process goes by. Allot of $$$$... I wish you *Luck!*

I haven't done well at all this month with going to Curves! I just had allot of projects I wanted to complete and I put it off --- not good! I need to go, I feel so much better when I do. I did keep walking - have gotten in a bit over 30 miles this month - just not as much as I hoped to. My goal is to get 2 - 2.5 miles a day walking and twice a week at Curves... I hope to do much better in October!

Michele ~ Are you feeling any better?

Angie-Wangie ~ on losing 1.4 lbs! It takes me a long time to lose as well, but as I tell my sister... we are not gaining We have lost and kept that off and just keep on truckin' You are doing well! Keep it up girl! And Take Care... *the blues* happen allot this time of year with the change of seasons, I know that my exercise really helps me with the blues! I feel it more so if I don't exercise - even walking 1 mile a day makes such a positive difference for me!

MKay ~ How did your craft show go? Did you sell allot??

How's the new computer working for you?

Bunna ~ It works out great! I enjoy decorating that way a whole lot less stress and so enjoyable to look at. I am almost finished with the cleaning (half way there)... I hope to finish today. Joe & I never did get to the windows... too much going on this weekend. We have plenty of time... maybe this week. I so look forward to the holiday's! I hate the way the media and shops try rush it though! They don't sway me I take it one day at a time and enjoy it to the fullest!

How was your shopping at the garage sales???

Sprout ~ Always great to hear from you... you are in my continued *Prayers* especially for this Tuesday during your eye surgery!

Sue???? Sami???? Sherry???? DaleMarie???? Lakegirl???
Where have you all gone

*~*~*

Time for me to get in my morning walk...
Have a great day gang!!!

Hi all

I'm at work this a.m. but not feeling great still. My head is killing me, still blowing icky stuff. I go to the dr. today for my back, i'll see if he'll give me an antibiotic. I'd bet i have a sinus infection....

John didn't come to Alpha last night, but had a nice night. Nobody borrowed any books? But i'm not discouraged.

More later....really behind at work.

Default Dieters devotions for September 27, 2004

September 27

Psalm 9:10
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

It was nice to see that the church cared so much about the ladies' group that dieted together. At the annual church planning board dinner, it was suggested that a low calorie menu be offered. Dieting was so much easier when other people understood and cooperated with you. It was gratifying to be supported by the church as if by one's own family. God had been good to the ladies of the church. God's love should be apparent in our churches. The church should be a place where we know we will be affirmed and supported. God never forsakes His children, and His children should be careful not to forsake each other.
Today's thought: No matter what, I'm not on this diet alone!

Smile Tuesday...

Lithia Park in Autumn, Ashland, Oregon

Good Morning CER's!
I had a great jammie day yesterday and spent the morning chilling out with my Sunday Paper that I never got to read on Sunday... then finished up with some house cleaning chores. I really am enjoying the autumn colors outside as well as inside my home

I forgot to tell you that on Sunday evening, when Joe got home @ around 7:30, there was this familiar sound... I ran outside with my camera and I was right! There were three HOT AIR BALLOONS just above our home!!! Awesome to see against the blue skies! I will post those pictures this morning just as soon as I get them off the camera and downsized for the forum. They are so beautiful to see!!! Made me feel the excitement of a kid

*~*~*

Angie ~ Good to see you popping in... but how are you feeling? Doing okay?

Michele ~ I hope that you continue to feel better as each day passes... you were doing so well too - darn it all! Yes, it does sound like you have an infection, my best pal (Peggy) had gone on meds for her infection, but she is still hurting. She is going back to the Dr's today to see about more or stronger meds. There is a Saline Mist (cannot remember the brand right now) that you can buy in the drug store that may help you allot! No meds in it, just salt solution... this time of year it's easy to get dried out & be prone to infections. Oh, and make sure you drink plenty of water or decaf herb teas - they really do help too. I am having a cup of mint tea now - yum! *Feel better*

*~*~*

I really cannot wait till you all come back on a regular basis again!
I really do miss you!!!

*May God Bless Your Day!*
Luvs,
SunnyD

Default Good Morning!

I have just a minute to pop in and say "HI". It's been kind of busy around here. I was disappointed on Saturday when the cabinet guy didn't show up. I'll call him and find out if he forgot or got too busy. If he can't show up soon we do have other options. I guess I'm just impatient and want this done yesterday. We looked into doing ceramic countertops and kind of liked the idea. What do you think of them Gary? Are most people happy with them? It costs about 1/2 as much as arborite and looks lovely.

Eating wise I need a lot of improvement but I am trying to exercise-either walking or doing weights each morning. Now I know I need to change my dinner eating habits. I still go well with breakfast and lunch. It's just so much easier just to grab whatever after work instead of plan and eat a nutritious meal. I took out chicken for supper tonight so we'll see what comes of that.

Have a super day!! Wish I had time to address everyone.

Hi Sunny! What a beautiful pic. Can't wait to see the one's of the hot air balloons. I'd like to do that someday. I bet your house is beautifully decorated. You do everything so nice.

Angie, Marilyn, Wilma, glad you all popped in to let us know how you are doing.

My back dr. yesterday wouldn't give me a prescription, he suggested i go see my family dr. (This is another reason i don't particularly care for traditional medicine) What a pain, more time off work, no appt. until over a week from now.....I'm just going to get better on my own and suffer through it. Thanks for the reminder Sunny, i'll start using my neti pot today. I should've done that at the beginning of all this...
