PRAYER WARRIOR's All Faiths -- 2013 continued ...
 Time to start a new thread ladies and gents ~
So much to pray for but looking back I see so many prayers have been answered in ways that have brought happiness and understanding into our lives. God does hear our prayers and answers them in His will and in His time as we bring them to Him through His Son. May the new year bring us here often to share our needs and pray for all who ask. Many more blessings in 2013 are waiting for us ... :D |

I'm praying for you ... Attachment 44144 |
:welcome: to our newest ALL FAITHS -- PRAYER WARRIOR's THREAD for the remainder of 2013 ~ I just noticed that we are over the 500 post limit once again, so we must start a fresh one at this time. Let us continue our prayers here for GARY, and everyone else who has made recent requests the last few days. Please feel free to post them in this new thread, so we can see them again ...
I have also posted a CURRENT PRAYER LIST here on page 1, so that you can go back to reference it anytime you like. This thread can get so long, so it is a handy feature to be able to just go there and see who needs praying for. I try to put as many requests in it as I can. Please send us updates so that we can keep it as current as possible as well. Thank you all for your prayers for everyone here ... |

ELVISLOVER ~ oh, I have said that many times ever since I came to this forum, as the others here well know. Over the years they have prayed for a leg that took 2 years to heal; when we were left homeless; DH's Alzheimers diagnosis, and other daily issues & healing; "numerous" family health issues, esp cancer; when buying our home; this WL/good health journey; plus my tumor and cancer issues; and now going through the chemo, just to name a few. This place and these people mean a great deal to me; they have been with me, and prayed with and for me & my family so much over the last 6 + years. Their faithfulness and encouragement has helped me in untold ways; no-one but our LORD truly knows. We do know how you feel; and the prayers will continue on and on until they are answered one way or another ... TRISH ~ sending up ^prayers^ that your son's foot heals speedily ... :) =============================================== I thought this recent post from ELVISLOVER was important to put in here becuz it shows just how helpful and important this PRAYER WARRIOR'S THREAD is to us, and so many other people as well. |
Thank you so much, Rosebud. Your post made me cry before I even saw the one you posted to me. The prayer list was beautiful, thank you for taking the time to post everyone and our prayer needs. I am praying for every single one there. God is good and he hears our prayers.
This thread has helped me so much with my mental/spiritual state which in turn helps me calm myself to focus on my weightloss. My weightloss is instrumental in helping my cancer issues and it's the one thing I can control as long as I keep myself focused. Thank you Rosebud, you have no idea how very thankful I am to have met you and the other wonderful posters here. |
If I haven't said it before I will say it now. I have tried going on a cancer website and checked out their chatrooms and various forums. It was too depressing I could not stay there. I find 3FC in general to be much more positive and uplifting and the Faith Based Support Group to be Christ centered and God believing and full of hope, not despair. My health issue is cancer but on these boards I have read of many illnesses and disabilities some much worse than mine. I thank God for 3Fc in general but Faith Based Support Groups in particular. God Bless every one who is or has posted in this forum.

Just want to update on our situations--
Leitha passed away, but her family is doing well. They know they will see her again when they join her in the LORD's holy presence. DS1 and his wife are back together--they do still have some struggles. DS1 has been diagnosed bi-polar and must stay on meds and not have alcohol, which may be a contributing factor to their issues. His real mom is a bi-polar alcoholic who has refused any kind of treatment for either, so she sets a poor example of how to behave and be responsible, but DS1 just gravitates to her and her messes. My own mom, June, is doing so incredibly well! Completely healed from her hip replacement. She also figured out that she's allergic to wheat and has been able to go off the meds for her bipolar schizophrenia and has had NO return of any of the symptoms. (There's a lot of research out there connecting mental health issues with food allergies-we just stumbled upon some of it awhile back and decided to take a leap of faith.) Thanks for all prayers on our family's behalf. Like everyone says, this is the best place to go for support with everything, not just weight issues:grouphug: One new prayer request--I have a friend from high school who's 22-year-old daughter, Jenna C., has been diagnosed with a cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. It has already metastasized to bones in her spine and hips. She is in hospital now (& has been for 2 weeks as she was so ill when she came home from college she could not even stand on her own) and will be for quite a while longer. She has had a couple surgeries already and has started very intense chemo 2 days ago, but is already having difficulty eating due to nausea. Please lift her and her family up in your prayers. She's a Christian who has a degree in Biblical Studies and works with little children in daycares and churches. Thank you! |
THANKS FOR THE UPDATES, RONNI ~ I had been praying for LEITHA right up to last night; happy that she is with the LORD and her family has peace. PRAIZE GOD that your DS1's family is back together: praying for deliverance from alcohol & related issues. Have added JENNA C to the current list above as well.
PRAYER REQUEST ~ for me -- I have been blessed with few side effects until yesterday; and had a bad outbreak of acne on the T-part of my face, but especially my nose and it is red, swollen, and sore. My uncle had the same thing happen from his chemo meds. I pray that my immune system will be able to fight back soon; at first, they suppress it so the meds can kill any cancer cells that may be there. In the next few days, my immune is supposed to rejuvenate itself (from around the 10th day and on), so that should help a bit too, I think. I can always cover the acne up but it's the pain/swelling issues that are not pleasant. I am taking extra vitamins and eating extra stuff with vitamin A/E in it to try and help my skin issues too. Thanks everyone ... |
:hug:Praying for you, Rosebud. So sad you are dealing with those side effects, I hope you are feeling better very soon.
|
THANKS, EL ~ I appreciate that so very much ...
PRAYER REQUEST ~ could you put up a little prayer for my sister, Wendy -- for her job. She works for a major insurance company that is always getting on her case to do more and more work. She already does her own full-time job, plus they get her to do call-center work on top of that (answering calls). She's a trouble-shooter for her company; and she solves problems for them and other employees. She has always worked her butt off for this company; putting in untold hours of unpaid overtime for years and years, but they are never satisfied. She gets disheartened when they do this to her and could use some prayers ... THANKS! |

THANKS, EVERYONE -- for your prayers for my family and me. Still sending up continuous prayers for GARY that he will heal quickly and completely; no more infections, etc.

Prayer request for Jimmy and Sherri
Hello everyone, I am new here but I am so thrilled to see there is a faith thread! I have a prayer request, please pray for my brother in Christ Jimmy. He's in the midst of terminal bone cancer. He has started some radiation treatments to prolong, which is effecting him horribly. He goes to Pittsburgh in the AM to start the heavy doses. We are praying for a miriacle and a healing over this man. God is good, I've seen my friends faith blossom in this trail and I am grateful for that. Please pray for his sweet wife, she carries a heavy burden on her shoulders. I ask also that you pray for my friend Sherri. She's been battling this devil cancer for years! She had a double mastectomy, then they found some in her spine. She's refusing further treatment at this point because of the side effects and is being riddled with it now. I pray she finds a church where people can love on her more fully, and of course I also pray for her healing, especially for her young sons.
Thank you so much for laying this before the God of Healing~Jehovah Rapha God Bless you for your prayers... |
LOVEGROVEMAMA ~ have sent up ^prayers^ for JIMMY & SHERRI; and added them both to our current list for further prayers as well ...
PRAYER REQUEST ~ my SM (stepmother) GRACE is having surgery again today (for her bladder cancer); prayers it all goes well for her with minimal side effects & quick healing. Also, her son (Jeff R) had a heart attack in December; he is doing better now, but is stressed becuz he has been having trouble finding work. I know they both would appreciate the prayers; thanks! |
Lovegrovemama. welcome and be assured all prayer requests are heard. Cancer is tough but my God is tougher.
|
UPDATE ~ on my UNCLE GARNET -- just want to thank you & let you know that my uncle went home to be with our LORD last night at 10 pm ... at the very same time that I was praying for him and others in our prayer list here. We serve a merciful and loving GOD, who allowed him to go home so that he wouldn't be suffering anymore. Garnet told my aunt that he felt that he didn't have long to live; he was right. Often people can sense it themselves.
He was very ill; and I could sense that he was very tired from what he was saying, so our prayers refected that for him too. He is now home with his wife, Peggy and at peace. They were my godparents as well, so I am very pleased that they were both believers. We are praying for his family and siblings to have peace & comfort during this time, as our family has had a lot of losses lately. Once again, thanks for all your prayers for Uncle Garnet over the years; and thanks to GOD for his infinite wisdom and mercy! |
Rosebud, Uncle Garnet now has perfect health and no longer suffers.
I continue to pray for all that need a healing touch or have a need of any kind. |
Thanks, BARGOO ~ Uncle Garnet was a brave soul, who fought the C-battle every inch of the way for untold years. He had several surgeries and more than several rounds of chemo (I lost count). Our prayers for him were answered again & again; and his life was extended for many years. I have always admired his tenacity, but know that he is at peace now.
Yes, we will always continue to pray for all health concerns & other requests posted here .... PRAYER REQUEST ~ my aunt's niece, LAURIE in North Bay, is having surgery on Monday to remove 3 benigns tumors; I'm sure she would appreciate the prayers for her, her family, and the doctors/team, etc. Thanks ... |
I've been busy past few days, but you all have been in my prayers.
Lovegrovemama WELCOME. Prayig for Jimmy and Sherri and their families as they battle cancer. Rosebud Praying for Wendy. My sister went throught the same type of thing when she worked for 20+ yrs for an insurance company. She actually let her health go at times when she shouldn't have because no one else could do her job. She finally retired this past year and says she doesn't miss it at all. Funny thing is they said they woud have to hire at least 2 people to do the job she did when she left. They were always going to hire her a helper but didn't. Also praying for your family in the loss of your Uncle Garnet. It is so difficult when loved ones leave us to go home with the Lord because we have mixed feelings. We are happy for them because they no longer suffer here and we know the joyful time they are having with loved ones who have gone before them, but our hearts ache because we miss them. I often think of how wise it is for the Lord to have done things this way because it not only comforts us that they are with the Lord, but we also look forward to the day that we wil be with the Lord and seen our loved ones again. GOD IS GOOD AND EXTREMELY WISE. Prayers continue for all. |
Angie here with another update:
Gary was discharged from the hosiptal yesterday and is now at the skilled nursing facility. I think he will be there for at least 8 days, since he will be on antibiotics for that long due to the c-diff infection he got in the hospital. One advantage to the infection is that he gets a private room. He's on a feeding tube and a liquid diet right now, trying to get those calories to put back some weight. One step at a time... Thank you again for your prayers and support and please know that I am also praying for all of you and sending thanks to God for putting such wonderful prayer warriors in our lives. |
Angie, thank you so much ffor the report. Even though we have not met face to face I consider you and Gary to be my Christian brother and sister. I continue to keep Gary in prayer that he will have complete healing, I also pray for you, Angie and his entire family, I know this is stressful for all of you.
|
Angie I "ditto" everything Bargoo said. I think of y'all as my brother and sister in Christ. Always look forward to hearing an update of Gary's progress. Y'all are always in my prayers that Gary will totally recover and this will become a memory and a testimony of God's Goodness as He has walked through this with y'all. Please give Gary our love.
|
ANGIE ~ thanks for the update on GARY ~ ^prayers^ continue as his recovery progresses. Thanks to GOD as well for hearing & answering our prayers & supplications on GARY'S behalf ....
TRISH ~ thanks to you all for your prayers for our family. Yes, my sister has worked 35+ years for her company and your prayers have been answered already. She had some positive feedback come her way this week, and that was a blessing. PRAIZE GOD for answered prayers ... :D ^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ... :) |
Well, I've had few new side effects from my chemo this week; some more hot flashes but that could be from having the total hysterectomy too though they did say, you could feel warm. The last two days, I have been losing hair, first off my body and this AM, from my head -- so I will look at the wraps and scarves again when I go to the hospital this Monday for the prep exam and the chemo is on Tuesday, if all is OK.
My temperatures have been good; I take them twice a day (once in the am and once in the pm) to make sure there's no fever -- praize GOD that's been really good for me. The last two days, I have felt very tired. I was able to go for a walk as the streets/laneway were all clear, but I felt tired when I got back yesterday. My legs are holding a bit of water but I hope that goes away before the weigh-in on Monday .... ;) Then overnight we had a big ***** storm, so it's a beautiful, winter wonderland out there with icicles and all. It does look pretty and we ran into a white-out on the way to the hospital for my weekly blood tests this am, but we were OK, and it cleared up for us so we were able to pick up a few grocieries before coming back home. We could use prayers for our trip this coming Monday and Tuesday to the city hospital for the tests on Monday; and the chemo on Tuesday which is a very long day. It takes 5.5 hours just to put the chemo in; then we have a the drive there and back too. Here's a really nice hopefilled song that I found while checking out youtube this week ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWejcH0JWTc THANKS, EVERYONE; ^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ... |
Sorry about the chemo. I know it is tough about your hair, but Rosebud, it is only hair. it will grow back. When you get through all of this you will be healthy , with a new body and a great testimony of what God can do.
I don't mean to sound harsh about the hair, I understand , we women love our hair and if we have spent a long time letting it grow long and beautiful , it is tough to see it go. |
Rosebud Sorry about your hair. I will be praying with you that it will grow back and be beautiful like the beautician at the beauty salon where I go. My beauticians Mom just finished chemo and radiation and her Mom wanted a perm this week. BB said she would give her a mild one and if her hair falls out shei'll go get her a wig. There are some really pretty ones out there if you want to wear them until your hair grows back. I agree with Bargoo it has to be one of the tough things for us women to go through because our hair is so important to us. I will keep you in my prayers, praying for safe trip to and from treatment and tests. And of course praying for your DH.
|
BARGOO ~ I didn't think you were being harsh about my hair. I know for a man, they usually keep it short, and it can grow back in about 2-3 months; but mine took many, many years. I agree that in our society a woman's hair is considered her glory; even the bible says that -- but I KNOW it will grow back in again; and have even been planning how I will style it later on as it grows in. Many people say it will come back in even nicer than before; so that will be a blessing. One lady I know decided to keep her hair short afterwards, and I may not grow mine quite as long next time either -- we'll see.
TRISH ~ THANKS, I saw a really pretty head wrap and some lovely long, wispy scarves that would look nice and rather exotic, I think. I plan to check them out in a couple of places I saw them. I thought of the wigs too; but may just go with the wraps, we'll see. I guess I'd have to see how they look on me first, but I had a friend who had chronic hair loss, so she had two wigs that she switched back and forth. They looked so natural that you couldn't tell that it wasn't her hair. I find it harder how long it takes to get all the chemo rounds done; can't wait for it all to be over with so I'm praying the LORD grants me His divine patience. It is sad to lose my hair; but it's more concern how I will look, it's not the hair itself that is difficult for me. I am doing quite well with it all, but I am human and it's only natural to feel this way. Not to worry, GOD has granted me a wonderful peace through all of this; and I am so very grateful for that. :D THANKS for your prayers and words of support & encouragement -- they are very appreciated ... |
Rosebud, Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God , which transcends all understanding , will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
|
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, but know that you are all in my prayers. I have been reading, but just not posting. Prayers continue for healing and patience, for Gary and his family, and everyone else's needs mentioned.
Rosebud-sorry to hear about your uncle, but glad you knew he was saved and is now with His Lord and Savior. The family has also been in my prayers. Also, like everyone else said, I know it will be hard to lose hair, but it will grow back and no matter what...you're still the beautiful person you've always been, because everyone can see it glowing from inside:hug: I'll be praying for your upcoming chemo. Update on Jenna...she was able to go home from the hospital for a couple days, but the side effects of the chemo are pretty bad-she's experiencing a lot of nausea, plus her calcium levels went too high and she's now back in the hospital. Her chemo is very aggressive due to the nature of her cancer and that it's also in the bone marrow. Please continue to pray for this young lady and her parents and siblings (brother and twin sister). Thank you all! God bless! |
rommi, I will continue to pray for this precious girl that she will have complete healing. Praying aslo for peace for the family Please note the scriture I referred Rosebud to,. Phillipians 4:7
|
ronni Will contiue the prayers for the young girl and her family. I don't know much about cancer and especially not about anything concering bone marrow. I'm equally sure the docs have looked at everything. However, I will mention this anyway. Years ago before I met or knew my Pastor, he had a type of cancer that required some sort of bone transplant. He came close to dieing before they reallized he needed one, I guess. However, it turned out that his younger brother was a match and saved his life. I don't know if something like that even applies to Jenna, but I thought of it when you mentioned she has a twin sister. Will definitely be praying for her and family.
|
~\
THANKS EVERYONE ~ for your prayers and words of support & encouragement; they mean a lot to me ...
RONNI ~ prayers continue for JENNA and her family. You know, this happens a lot when taking chemo. My uncle's potassium levels kept going too high on him, and I have to watch my B=vitamin intake -- some is OK, but too much has negative side effects for me. BARGOO ~ yes, that's one of my favorite verses and is in my little notebook of encouraging verses that I keep near me every day. I also have praise and healing verses in it; and two pages of thanks and gratitude to start things off right from the start! :D ^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours, as always ... |
PRAYER REQUEST ~ My AUNT sent me a few requests for relatives and friends ... MRS. JEAN SKIDMORE has been diagnosed with cancer; JEAN GILES has cancer as well; and NORM BOUVIER has pneumonia and sepsis infection -- this can be very serious. Please pray that our doctors can find the cause and the right meds to help NORM and anyone else who gets this condition. Another fella only 40 years old got this and died from it here, leaving behind a young, grieving family. THANKS, WARRIORS!!!
PLUS, I just got a call from my Sil that our Bil, TOM MOOREHEAD, is having his second cataract surgery today; they will be leaving shortly to go to the city for that. I know they both will appreciate prayers that all goes well for TOM, so his sight can be restored -- and we THANK GOD that the first one went well too! Here's the link to the ANGEL song that I put in the Encouragers Thread -- I thought it would be nice for other Prayer Warriors to hear, as I think you are all angels too ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvDBjNG_pws |
Prayers going up for MRS. JEAN SKIDMORE & JEAN GILES for doctors to have wisdom treating them successfully so they can be cancer free; and NORM BOUVIER has pneumonia and sepsis infection docs to have wisdom find the cause and treating with the right meds to help NORM and a quick recovery and for TOM MOOREHEAD to have successful surgery and recovery.

Another update from Angie:
It's been a week since Gary was discharged from the hospital and has been in skilled nursing. He got pnemonia and an infection in his bloodstream. The anitbiotics seem to be working and he is getting a little stronger everyday. He looks forward to his daily physical therapy. We're just trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time. He gets antibiotics, I get vodka!! |
Continued prayers for all in need......

Thanks Angie. Continued prayers for you, Gary and family.

THANKS, ANGIE ~ for the update on GARY; sorry to hear that he has pneumonia as well, so we are upping our prayers for that and the infection as well as for strength & complete restoration of his health in general. Prayers for you & and your family too ...
Sooo, we had to cut my hair yesterday as it was so fine and falling out so fast that it turned into a tangled mess (resembling a rat's nest, I'm sure). ;) My heart was in the right place, but Locks for Love couldn't use it becuz of that. I am now sporting an interesting bob; my sister did the best she could since she isn't a hair dresser -- and it isn't knotting up anymore at this length (just below my ears). I have some bald spots in places, so just moving it around for now. Later on, this bob will turn into a pixie cut, then I don't know what after that ... PRAIZE GOD, I had great fortune when we went shopping after my blood tests on Wednesday, and found 5 nice head wraps at a Trading Post of all places. They just happened to have them in the hair accessories section. They had every imaginable color, so I am all set there. I saw a young male singer on the net wearing one -- seems they are becoming a popular hair accessory these days. THANKS so much for all your prayers for us, and our family & friends, etc. Prayers continue for you and yours too ... |
Rosebud, sorry Locks of Love didn't work out but you will certainly be blessed for you intent . I think you will look quite striking with your headscarves. I do see people wearing them who don't actually need them, they might have hair.
The most important thing is your health and you and your doctors are doing everything necessary there. I continue to pray for complete healing for you. Also praying for other requests that you and others have requested. Praying that Gary will be healed of pneumonia and this infection and that cancer will be completely gone. |
