Ronni Continued prayers for your Mom and praying and for traveling mercies for you and DH. Also praying for you boys safety etc while you are gone.

ronni62 06-11-2013 01:03 PM

Well, some prayers are being answered. Mom agreed to begin taking the meds & they are different ones than she has ever been on before. She has even stated that she will continue to take them after returning home, which will be a while yet. I can't help but think she might be playing the system a bit, but I will keep praying and hope for the best. Thanks so much for the prayers! There will still be a trial on Thursday and the judge may go ahead and issue an order to make sure she continues treatment.

gamechanger 06-11-2013 01:34 PM

Hi Ronnie,
First, I praise God for all of the progress He has worked in your Mom's situation. I pray that her agreeable disposition is sincere and that the Lord gives her the strength and the inclination to continue with her progress to a state of good mental and emotional stability and health. I pray that you and your family are healed, and relationships are restored in love, faith and trust. I ask all of these blessings in the name of Christ. Amen.

Mandalinn, I'm still praying for the good health and recovery of Amy's sweet babies. Thank you for keeping us updated with their status. God bless you.

Bootsie 06-11-2013 09:17 PM

Ronnie so thankful things are looking better for your Mother, will keep her and you and your husband in my prayers, Rosebud praying for you dear, that you are having a blast on your trip making many precious memories. Madalin will pray for Sydney and her babies. Melissa you are still in my prayers, I can tell you are one special lady and who ever hires you is going to be blessed. Bargo praying that the dear Lord shows favor upon you with many wonderful blessings.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-11-2013 11:20 PM

 HI EVERYONE -- we got back home late yesterday afternoon and boy, just unpacking and washing our laundry was exhausting. We had a marvellous time -- saw lots of sights and places we hadn't been before. DH did really well while we were gone; only had one night where he kept me awake with his sleeping antics -- almost falling off the bed a few times. :dizzy:

To amend that, we got our own rooms in one place where DH & I had our own beds -- that was so nice. We had a cot for him in the hotel we stayed in for the wedding. I picked up a bathing suit for DH and a bathing costume for myself to hide my lumps & bumps and no-one seemed to mind. I hope to be able to go to our pool in the future if we can afford it.

We had a nice trip both ways -- the scenery was magnificent. I didn't realize that area of our province was so beautiful: lots of trees, and lakes, and beaches, and rock formations. We stayed at one motel that was on a lovely beach too. We had some really nice meals with homemade cooking; seems GOD led us to the right places. We enjoyed the ferry ride both ways too (had breakfast one way and lunch the other).

Brought home some summer clothes for both DH & I; plus a few souvenirs (mostly practical stuff but a couple of things like a homemade crafted bracelet and genuine stone necklace). Had fun and splurged a bit, but we really wanted to have a good time becuz I don't know how many trips like this we would ever be able to take in the future.

:welcome: TO THE NEWBIES; glad to have you all join us here. Have sent up prayers for all your requests, and hope you are all well. We all have our trials, don't we? I spent some time reading before posting. I have to go get some blood tests done tomorrow but will try to catch up and start a new CHRISTIAN ENCOURAGERS' THREAD for June as well.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS, and words of encouragement -- they mean a lot to me and help me when things are so tough for us right now.

mandalinn82 06-12-2013 03:30 AM

Thank you all again for continuing to keep Amy and her beautiful babies in your thoughts...her update today was MUCH more hopeful:

Quote:

Thank you everyone for your posts asking about Sydney. I am proud to report that she had a good day today. Yesterday, she was given a medication through her vent that had a possibility of working or not working. Turns out, that Sydney took to it, and today, her vent settings were turned down to 59% from 100% and her stats were very good. Her urine output increased, which tells us her kidneys are hanging in there. She is truly a fighter. She is using all her might to overcome this and my heart just melts when I am near her and see that little body taking all of this on. Dr's say that we will continue to watch and wait to see what she continues to do. They are somewhat still guarded, but very happy with her progress.
Camden and Sadie continue to do well, they are so active and spunky. They have been both been known to pull out their tubing or kick themselves out of a swaddle.....
Thank you for all of your prayers and support. It helps me so much!

bargoo 06-12-2013 09:47 AM

mandalinn, thanks for keeping us posted.I will continue to pray for Amy and her precious babies.
Her story reminds me of a neighbor, a lady now in her eighties. She has a twin sister but has explained that she was born a triplet, two girls and a boy. Her brother did not survive and the two girls were raised as twins and lived a long and healthy life.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-12-2013 10:44 PM

AMANDA ~ so glad to hear that little Sydney is doing better; and prayers continue for her siblings and mommy too. :D

RONNIE ~ seems GOD is working in your mother's life; will continue prayers that she keeps her word and takes her meds, which she needs to be fully well. Prayers for you and your DH on your trip -- glad you are able to go with him. Sometimes, letting the chicks fly on their own for a little while teaches them more responsibility: it's good practice anyways ...

gamechanger 06-13-2013 02:05 PM

Rosebud- I'm so glad that you had a good trip and that you've returned home safe and sound. I thank God for you. Reading your thread on emotional eating has helped me tremendously. Thank you for being awesome.

Mandalinn- Thank you for keeping us updated on Amy and her precious family. We continue to pray for her strength in the Lord and for the ever increasing good health for those sweet babies.

Bootsie- Thank you for your encouragement and prayers. I'm still job hunting, but I'm believing and trusting that God will do a great work for me and in me so that I will prosper so that I can help others to prosper. Things are sometimes troubling and frustrating, but I'm trusting in Him and holding on.

Bootsie 06-13-2013 04:29 PM

Melissa, things are sometimes troubling and just plain down right frustrating in my life , that is when I ask Jesus for special angels to guide me with wisdom and insight , gee today is one of those days. I think the planets are out of whack today, for my friends and I are having a couple of those days pray it is better tomorrow. I pray Jesus gives you some angels with wisdom and insight that guide you to that special career job, Melissa it may be a job a blessing in disguise where you are needed badly. You hang in there girl! I hope you stick around here also.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-13-2013 10:48 PM

THANKS, MELISSA ~ I am so glad that you and others are helped by the Emotional Eating Thread -- still living and breathing that myself each day. We've been under a lot of stress here too, so we really know how you feel. I could use some help in the finance area as well; sending up prayers for you that the LORD will guide you to a position where you will be an awesome blessing to all those around you ...

BOOTSIE ~ I prayed your prayer to JESUS for angels of help and insight and wisdom; plus patience and peace too. I sure can use that today myself. We have really been bashed around lately (see my latest post in June Encourager's thread for more info). My legs are hurting from the chemo but the LORD gives me strength to fight on; really having to watch the emotional eating -- what a battle these days for sure. After that sad phone call, I kept telling myself, "You are not going to eat your sadness; repeat; repeat; repeat." So we just had soup and a sandwich for dinner; nice & light!!!

PRAIZE GOD -- my last chemo will be next Tuesday if the blood platelets get back up high enuff. GRACIE made it through her surgery and all is well so far; we pray for a quick & complete healing for her. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS FOR MY FAMILY & I ... they are so appreciated by all of us ...

bargoo 06-14-2013 09:05 AM

Rosebud so glad you had a good time and are back safely. Praying that all goes well with chemo, last one, Praise God. ! I continue to pray that this finacial situation be cleared up so that you can be back in charge of your own affairs.
Monday I go in for a bone scan. the purpose of this is to see if there has been advance, last lab work showed a light increase, Oncologist didn't seem to worried , though but he did order the bone scan.

ronni62 06-14-2013 09:40 AM

Bargoo-Praying for good results from the bone scan.

Prayers for all other needs, as well.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-14-2013 11:45 AM

THANKS, BARGOO ~ ^PRAYERS^ going up for that bone scan on Monday; we pray all will go well and that you will stay in complete remission. You are such a great blessing to us all here: such a wonderful prayer warrior and supporter as well ...

Bootsie 06-14-2013 06:33 PM

Thank goodness it is the last one Rosebud, I hate you even having to go through this praying for you. Also praying for the bone scan Bargo Monday. praying for everyone else also tonight and Rosebud things are better today, thank you and the dear Lord.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-16-2013 12:51 PM

THANKS BOOTSIE -- I am feeling better, esp emotionally. A social worker is going to help me fill out the trusteeship forms when they come. My legs were better yesterday: it's the chemo meds affecting the nerve ends in my skin and muscles, plus the swelling. I am taking .5 of a water pill to help that as well. :D

BTW, I found this wonderful, hope-filled song this morning. It is called TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS -- look up; and beautifully sung by Nicole Nordeman. Have a listen everyone ...

EDIT2ADD: we were talking to my DAD this afternoon and our stepmother, GRACE, is back at home now. She is on pain meds yet and has a bladder bag (not sure what they are called though), but she is hanging tough. She is concerned about getting through the chemo rounds later on, so I know she would appreciate prayers for that. I'll let you know when they start. My DAD's MRI is on June 20th (took him a while to get it scheduled) to see what is going on there before they set a surgery date. DAD said that at least they have time in between so they can look after each other as they go through these surgeries and treatments. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS EVERYONE -- we appreciate them so much ...

EagleRiverDee 06-17-2013 03:25 PM

Prayers sent up for all concerns.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-17-2013 08:18 PM

THANKS, DEE -- I went to my oncologist appointment and we had a good day. The tests came back OK. My blood platelets were 104, just high enuff to let me do the chemo tomorrow; so that will start early -- about 8 AM. It will be a long day, but it is exciting that it is the last one.

ALSO, the doctor told me that everything has gone well -- just how they had hoped. He said 100% and then some ... Plus they both said that I had done marvellously with the chemo and it did what it was supposed to. The best news of the day is that we are now free to go home as soon as I have my last chemo tomorrow.

He will get my personal physician to monitor my blood for the next 4 months, then we will come back south for about a week or so, for a follow-up exam and tests to make sure everything is OK and nothing has changed. Then I will have regular check-ups every 6 months after that for about 2-3 years to be on the safe side. I am so glad of that ... :D

I will just stay long enuff to get those forms filled out then my BIL and brother will take us back home very soon. We are both very happy about that. My aunt says that our grass is getting too long and we have to find someone to do it for us when we get back.

The DA said she was amazed at how I was able to deal with so many issues at the same time; and I told her that it was my FAITH that has carried me through it all, and will continue to as well. She said that she could understand that and hoped everything works out. Actually the doctor said that as well. All of them have been great to work with through the whole process and I am so thankful for that.

SO .... I need lots of prayers once again for my chemo day tomorrow for a good day and minimal side effects too. THANKS EVERYONE -- I know your prayers have been answered totally throughout this journey and you all have been such an encouragement to me ...

EagleRiverDee 06-18-2013 12:53 PM

Rosebud-
Praying for your final day of chemo to be a good one and no side effects.

ronni62 06-18-2013 04:03 PM

Asking for prayer for a young friend of ours. Her whole family are good friends, from grandparents to little sisters. Jenny, 20 years old, had a bad car accident over the weekend. The car rolled 3 times and landed on top. She had to walk 1/2 mile after breaking out the window to get help. She broke her pelvis. She had been sent home yesterday, but collapsed this morning and had to be taken by ambulance back to the hospital. Please pray for healing and for discernment for the docs to make sure they haven't missed something.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-18-2013 04:36 PM

^PRAYERS^ going up for JENNY that the doctors find what is wrong asap, and don't miss anything; plus for peace, minimal pain, and quick & complete healing ...

UPDATE: my last chemo treatment went fantastic with NO SIDE EFFECTS all day. Just had one hot flash when I got home, but that is my hormones acting up again. I think I may have that a long while, but they don't last long (from 10 seconds to a few minutes), so that's not too bad, eh? Will take those danged steroids for the last time; they make me so hungry but they take away all the nausea and vomiting so they are so necessary to take.

Once I get home, I can start to work on that: #1 -- I don't want to gain anything; #2 -- I want to tone up and get back to lifting weights, walking, ans swimming; #3 -- and maybe lose up to about #30 lbs , BUT do it veryslowly so I don't end up saggy like last time. I have gained a lot of weight but on the up side, my boobs are back and I look a lot healthier too.

I may hope to get my doctor to arrange some therapy for a while to see if that can help; and I'd love to join the aqua-fitness class for therapy at our local pool. I think DH would love that too, so I'll try to get us both in if it is affordable for us.

SO, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS -- keep them going becuz now we have to work through this round too, esp from day 5/7 to 21 day and more. The DA says that it may take months for some for the symptoms to go away completely and some may come back occasionally (esp the numbness, tinglies, and frost-bite like pain in my feet and lower legs and hands. One of the chemo nurses said something similar to us already -- even up to a year (she was right).

I am sure all these prayers will help too. PRAIZE GOD for answered prayers throughout all these treatments and in between for me, DH and my family; plus for all the help from my family for DH and me too. :D

EagleRiverDee 06-18-2013 06:54 PM

Prayers going up for Jenny, for an accurate diagnosis and a complete recovery.

Karen31 06-18-2013 08:27 PM

Hi--It's me again! I haven't been around much-- been trying to keep up with your comments but have been so busy haven't had a lot of time to post.. My Aunt has had 3 different treatments for her back pain now. The first two were temporary to see if they might really help (the insurance company insisted before they would agree to pay) So we have taken her to those appointments and that takes up most of the day... but I love her and she is so much fun. She is my moms sister and my mom has been gone 10 years now. So that has taken a lot of time.

But I think about all of you lots and remember to keep y'all in my prayers.

Today I am asking for a little prayers and good thoughts for my "Ginger" she is my red Pomeranian
We took her to the vet this afternoon. She has had a cough for quite awhile but seemed to be getting worse. They call it a "goose honk cough". The vet. examined her and said she has a collapsing trachea, which I guess is sometimes common in small dogs, and the slight murmur she had when we first got her has become worse now too. He rated it at a 3 on a scale of 1 to 6. So she had two injections, one and antibiotic that will last 2 weeks and a steroid shot that should help with the inflammation of her throat from coughing. And two prescriptions one is a water pill that should remove some of the fluid from around her heart and lungs and the other is a cough pill that is an expectorant in it. The water pill she will take twice a day for about 5 days and then can cut back to once a day. So she should be feeling better real soon. She is 10 years old so I guess she has entered into her Golden Years too!

EagleRiverDee 06-18-2013 08:46 PM

Rosebud- great news on how well the chemo went!

Karen- Praying for little Ginger!

Karen31 06-18-2013 09:00 PM

Rosebud, so glad that the chemo went so well. I think about you so often and know that you have been here for me through good times and bad. Just want to let you know how much I so appreciate you. Still sending prayers that everything continues to go smoothly for you.. HUGS!

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-19-2013 03:24 PM

THANKS DEE & KAREN & EVERYONE ELSE TOO -- I just had a bit of nausea in the middle of the night as per usual; this is becuz the meds they gave me during the day wear off by then. So I ate an orange and a few grapes and that helped me feel better. Then when I got up this am, I took the steroids right away and they work very well as you already know.

I take them for a couple more days then I have some gravol to take if those symptoms persist, but ususally they don't last past 3-4 days for me so that is nice. Others told me that they have the same results. Some of them forget or don't take their steroids and that is why they get so sick. They need someone to remind them what they have to take becuz we get what is called "chemo fog" -- it is a type of partial and temporary memory issue that comes & goes. Moreover, there are so many appts and meds to remember to take that it is easy to forget. I keep a running file on my PC with all my appointments and my meds & vitamin list too; and that helps me a lot.

I have had no other symptoms except the hot flashes which are really from my hormones and the full hysterectomy. The chemo can affect your hormone balance as well. So far, all symptoms are mild and bearable -- so PRAIZE GOD for that!!!! :D

I am working to get everything ready for our trip home; DH is really looking forward to that, as am I. I miss our place and want to get that grass cut and check out my flowering plants, bushes and trees. I know our friends ask about us regularly and miss us as well.

^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ...

gamechanger 06-19-2013 07:09 PM

Rosebud, it is such a blessing to hear that your round of chemo happened without terrible side effects and too much discomfort. I pray that you continue to prosper in every way, especially in the area of your health.

To All of God's Children, I'm sending you good and positive thoughts. I pray that God will bless you all with His protection and His favor. I ask that you will continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I'm still on the job hunt, but I know that God will provide.

Love you all-- Melissa

EagleRiverDee 06-21-2013 12:04 PM

Prayer request- my cat, Gizmo aka "Baby Cat" is going in for dental surgery today. He's been sick for a while, and I've gotten pretty sure that it's one of his teeth that's bothering him. He's essentially stopped eating and drinking much, and yet his bloodwork and everything comes back that there is nothing wrong. I happened to bump his mouth a few days ago and he reacted like it hurt a lot (and it was just a gentle bump) and so I'm pretty sure it's a tooth. In any case, he's 17 and diabetic so he's high risk for surgery, but I don't see another option. If you could keep he and I in your prayers, I'd appreciate it. I really don't want to lose him. Thanks.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-21-2013 01:59 PM

DEE -- ^PRAYERS^ going up for your Kittycat today; hope he feels better real soon ... hugs

THANKS, MELISSA -- I am feeling well today; just mild skin sensitivity so far (it kinda feels like a sunburn to the touch, esp on my back/shoulders). That's not so bad really. ^PRAYERS^ continue that you will find a position that is right for you ...

Karen31 06-21-2013 02:54 PM

Dee- Prayers for Gizmo--- Gosh we know how miserable a toothache is for people and we can tell and take something for it, Sure hope he feels better soon.

EagleRiverDee 06-21-2013 05:32 PM

Thank you for the prayers- Gizmo came through surgery ok, they pulled three teeth. I'm hoping his health will improve now.

Continued prayers that Melissa will be blessed with a great new job, and that Rosebud's skin sensitive will go away.

ronni62 06-23-2013 06:00 PM

Update on Jenny, our friend who had the car accident--Praises to God! She's doing much better. The pain is subsiding somewhat, so the pain meds are helping her much better. She was even at church today, but had to be in a wheelchair as it's very difficult for her to walk with the broken pelvis. I'm thinking she'll need some physical therapy when the pain is more manageable, but no one's said that for sure yet. Her family was so happy that she survived this, but, of course, her mom and dad are stressed a bit, plus her dad will be losing his job in a month due to company downsizing-that will be hard on them and for him, as it's so hard at our age to find a decent job. Keep them in your prayers.

EagleRiverDee 06-24-2013 03:40 PM

Ronni, that is great news about Jenny. I will continue to pray for her, and also her family.

Justwant2Bhealthy 06-24-2013 11:29 PM

PRAISE GOD for all those answers to our prayers; so glad for all the good news. THANKS for all your kind thoughts and prayers for us too.

^PRAYERS^ continue for you and yours ...

EXTRA PRAYER REQUEST -- my BIL has asked me to ask all of you to pray for a lady who used to belong to a strange sect here in Ontario, Canada. It was a break-off branch from a Mormon group that separated becuz of bizarre practices & beliefs by the leader of this group. The leader's name was Stan King (now deceased); and his sons (Fred & Joseph) took over leadership when their father passed away. This lady (Christie) ran away, reporting terrible abuses to the women & children, and even to the male adult members of the sect (using a doctrine of fear & shame to keep them there). She is praying her son (Marcus) will be able to break free of this group with GOD's help; and she is most concerned about the abuse of the children there. The group is on a farm near Chatsworth, Ontario which isn't far from where we are here; and has been in the local/national news in the past. Please pray GOD will intervene on their behalf; and help the people there to stand up for themselves as well.

bargoo 06-25-2013 10:06 AM

I have been MIA for a few days due to a computer crash.I'm reading all the postings I missed and am praying for all requests. and rejoicing in God's goodness.

EagleRiverDee 06-25-2013 02:44 PM

Prayers offered up that Marcus might be able to break away from this abusive group, and that all people in situations where people are perverting the Word of God to control people and abuse them might be able to see clearly and break away from it.
