Hi all! Happy Sunday!
Gary - prayers ascending for your "talent" and "time" to be used to glorify God in ways that are fun and exciting and fruitful. Rosebud - OH, MY! That snow picture certainly is amazing! I was complaining about our 200+ inches this year - but your snow makes ours look tiny! Great picture of Niko -what a blessing he has turned out to be for you. He sure is a cutie!!! Bev - prayers for those close to Rudy, and for your ex BF and for you as well! A nice servie at church this morning, and we will have our study tonight. It will be a Methodist potluck - so I need to really watch my eating today! Blessings to all - and prayers ascending! |
Rosebud - love the puppy!!! And WOW! we never see snow like that! It's been 70 here the past two days and I still saw a snowman in someone's yard. Of course, our snowmen usualy include pieces of pine straw! :)
Thank you Laurie. I couldn't go to sleep last night until 8 THIS MORNING! I watched "the Illusionist" and then had to watch it again. awesome movie!!!! Then I wrote several different pieces...and am blown away at how God moves my hands. They were too good to have come from me. Well, I am up...4 hours of sleep. I must be deranged. |
Just trying to see if my new ticker weight shows...
|
Rayne--what a story about John. I also love your ticker..so springy! I am so hungry for spring as I am a gardener living in Wisconsin...I must suffer through the tail end of winter before I see the glories of spring! I actually appreciate every season...I'm an upper mid-western girl and couldn't imagine it any differently!
Gary--Speaking of seasons...I know my husband and I have gone through "seasons" of heavy involvement at church with different ministries and DH on the board and then times like now when we're in the mist of transition and not able to commit to that degree. There is value in it all. Different types of gorwth come out of each situation. May God direct you in the specific areas you are to offer both your time and talents to the Him! Oh, and I love that b-day cake in your profile pic. Well, we're getting a snow storm here after everything had melted for a few days. It's a melt, snow, melt, snow cycle that makes it seem like spring is more than a couple weeks away! Thankfully, I was able to pick up a Wii Fit at Best Buy this morning so I can continue to entertain myself and exercise indoors while I wait out the weather. Hope everyone enjoyed their service at church this morning! Mine was very applicable to my life situation, so it was a joy to know God was speaking to me through it. He is SO GOOD! |
HI GALS ~
Sitting here trying to catch a little NASCAR...between cautions...so many this year. my guy Denny Hamlin is having a lot of trouble with a loose car :( Just had a little family party a few minutes ago :carrot: I was out loading up my truck with gear for tomorrow and saw my brother in law's truck over at my brother's house....he was getting some tools for a job we have that he is working on tomorrow, my brother is up in Sacramento on another job of ours...he saw me out loading my truck and came over, then my son and daughter in law pulled up with some shirts for me. They were in our area house hunting and wanted to give me some shirts I bought to sponsor the high school track team he coaches. All this after my daughter called me...well...she wanted Angie's expertise on painting her bedroom ;) All in all a good day :) Church was cool today...Sunday of Remembrance. We remember what God has done for us through Christ and that to remember, we first have to learn and know accurately through study of His Word. Thank you all for your prayers. We used to do a lot of things at church as a church body but as the years passed people seemed to get more involved outside of church with activities...myself included. Kids involved in sports, scouts and of course church activities. Anyway, seems like the adult social activities have really taken a hit. We are a little strapped right now for space since our old hall is torn down while we build the new center. It should be finished late summer - early fall. Ms Perception ~ I hope you enjoy your Wii. I sure wish I could send all you gals some of this beautiful California weather we are having. It has been a mild winter here, even for us. Good luck with the house selling. BEV ~ Sorry to hear about Rudy :( Sounds like a rocky ride with John. Amazing some of the things we went through/put up with when we look back ;) ROSEBUD ~ Thank you for the pictures! Niko is still adorable....not so sure about all that snow ;) We put our clocks ahead today too....as usual when we spring ahead church was a little lighter! ANNIE-ROSE ~ :) SCOOTER ~ WOW! Who would have thought the time would come when they lined up like that at Dairy Queen :( I hope you enjoyed the play and happy birthday to your mil. Angie and I were going to go to 2 plays this week-end...one that my step-d's ex boyfriend is starring in at the local JC and a christian youth play that one of Angie's students is in...didn't make either with her brother coming down and she just didn't feel like it today. RONNI ~ :bravo::dance::dancer::hat::cp: isn't life ONDERFUL?! WILMA ~ Are you getting some exercise in so you can make that "walk" to the bosses? ;) AGGIE ~ Hope things are going well with Ivory  KATHY ~ I hope you are feeling better and those kids are well. AUNT SUE ~ Have a great trip. Prayers continuing for your BIL BARGOO ~ DONNA ~ I hope your little boy is well and gaining weight. |
Rosebud, yes we change to DST , too. I don't like it.It takes my body a couple of weeks to get used to.
We had a nice service today. One funny thing happened a lady who is not a member of our church came to our worship service. She explained she forgot to set her clock so her church was not open yet so she came to ours. |
Good Morning!
It's been a few days since I last posted. Nothing much happening around here. DH is still gone a lot. His busy season will be over in a couple of weeks and then i get him back for the weekends. At least I've had time and quiet to study.
I had a couple of rough days eating wise last week so hopefully I haven't gained everything back. It's back to veggies and eating right again for me. No excuses. I do the cooking around here!! We had an awesome service yesterday. I love when the spirit moves and you can really truly sense God's presence. I know He's there all the time but to be able to feel it is awesome. Have a great week! |
Good morning, everyone! Not too much going on here. More snow and sleet yesterday, but fortunately, most of it waited until we were home from church-that's a really long 15 miles when the weather doesn't cooperate! Pastor had a great message yesterday. He's doing a series on the things Jesus said while on the cross. Yesterday's was Luke 23:43 " I tell you the truth, Today you will be with Me in Paradise." There is so much said in just a few words and God's entire plan of salvation is shown in the way Jesus dealt with the thief who chose to believe right there on the cross. Even as He was tortured and dying, Jesus witnessed to the thief and crowd about His true kingdom and the pathway to join Him. What an awesome Savior we have! It's a lesson to me about the need to share our faith no matter what our circumstances are and not to wait to ask for forgiveness when we fail.
Wilma-you'll get back on track. I messed up on the weekend too-we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant-so good, but had a little too much. So, you and I are back on plan as of now-right!?:D Bev-prayers for Rudy's loved ones and for you too. Gary-thanks! Prayers about your decision on church involvement. We also used to be much more involved (before we had to move twice) and now DH wants no part of any of it:( I know God will help you and Angie make the right decision. What ever it turns out to be, it will be for His glory! My driver had a tire blow and ruined his day-bummer.... Ms Perception-we're in that soon-to-be-spring-winter-not-letting-go time as well! Getting tired of it, but I've been tired of winter since November;) Laurie-hope you enjoyed the play and mil's b-day! Sounds like fun! Thanks for your encouraging words. You've been such an inspiration to me, along with Gary, Rosebud, Bargoo, and many other great people here, and I'm so glad God led me to 3fc. He knew how much I needed you all! Rosebud-I have to laugh every time I see your NIKO! He looks just like our Kasey. The boys thought we should have them play together if only we lived closer together:) I've never been fond of the time change-I just don't seem to be able to adjust properly. And, growing up in Indiana (which didn't adopt DST until last year), in one of the few counties where they actually did observe daylight savings time, it became a nightmare, as the school did not change time, so scheduling was impossible! Had to know if the times were "fast time" or "slow time". The bus leaves at 9? Is that fast or slow? What time's the game? Is that school on fast or slow? No wonder my mom is the way she is:dizzy: Well, I'd better get going. Prayers for all needs mentioned and for everyone to have a great day! to all! |
I went away on a ladies retreat this past weekend. The retreat's theme was "Taste and See that the Lord is Good".
Someone decided that CHOCOLATE would be the main ingredient of the snacks. Chocolate was everywhere! But, I resisted! There was a chocolate fountain, with fresh fruit to use to dip....so I enjoyed the strawberries and bananas. I also came prepared with some acceptable snacks in my purse. Found that with preparation, I can go to functions like that and still be in control and stay on program. It really is a great feeling! |
Bev - love the new ticker :) Love seeing it going DOWN too :)
Ms Perception - we got the ice and wind and snow too :( I am SOOO ready for spring! You will like the Wii Fit. I could go on and on and ... Oh, yeah - I already have ;) Enjoy! Gary - sounds like a fun church service! I'm betting you and Angie can come up with fun activities even with the space constraints! Bargoo - we have had folk show up for the same reason. I'm betting that she found your service a blessing :) Wilma :drill: go GIRL- back on track!!!! Ronni - do you log in just to look at your ticker? I did when I hit my half-way mark. I am so happy for you!!!! Donna :woohoo: AWESOME job staying on track! Chocolate is one of my weaknesses. I don't think I would have done as well! We had a busy day here, but it has been productive. I did exercise after work :D I have church finance tonight, so I won't be back. Those meetings usually run late. The study and potluck went well last night. I liked the challenge thrown out by the leader - spend as much time working on the "inner you" (time with God) as you spend on the "outer you" (hygiene, dressing, exercise, etc.) Prayers continuing for all! Have a grace-filled day! Laurie |
RONNI ~ that would be a nightmare -- it's gotta be one way or the other; everyone changes or none. Tell your boys that NIKO loves to play, esp with other dogs; and if he gets off his very long rope, the first place he heads is to the neighbours to play with their doggies (we always know where to find him). In this pic, he is waiting by the door for DH to come back home; he gets lonesome for DH if he leaves for any length of time, and DH just loves that! ;)
BARGOO ~ I like that we have longer days and more sunlight; maybe they should just stay the same all the time like some places do now. The US wants to see if it will save on hydro use, and our government decided to follow suit. GARY, LAURIE, BEV ~ yah, that's a lotta snow we have there; the landlord cries everytime it snows now because he has to pay for snow removal, but DH just reminds him that he can write it off against his taxes ... DONNA ~ you did great resisting all that chocolate; better than I would too, I'm sure! HI WILMA ~ pretty soon and spring will be here ... HI to EVERYONE else ~ time to go; gotta hit the hay and get these legs up. Take good care ... :hug:ROSEBUD^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ... |
Thanks Laurie - the ticker moved again! Somehow, i woke this morning weighing 2 pounds less than i did yesterday...
I hurt my shoulder in the gym tonight. but i know it will be fine. i tried going up on my weights and apparently mr. shoulder didn't like that idea! i walked for 50 minutes before the weights...i won't be doing that again! Donna - there is something to be said for your determination and strength! WOW! impressive... yeah, that time with john was nuts. i'm just glad i got over it. i wouldn't have put up with that crap now. funny how we change and grow! but i appreciate your prayers!!! it was in the 80's today! even tonight, i went to my neighbor's to soak in their hot tub, since i hurt the shoulder, and i walked back home wet and wasn't the least bit chilled. didn't we just have snow a week ago???? susie got sunburned at the race (she's one of those nascar people and we live 15 minutes from atlanta motor speedway) yesterday...she has a redneck farmer's tan now! :D her words...not mine. i may take my final tuesday night. i have until thursday, but i want to get it over with!!!! still praying for a new computer. i'm so proud of all of ya'll! you are all doing so good...even in the bumps, you get back on track! keep up the good work! |
darn my ticker didn't change. yet? finally!!!!
|
Ok, I'm back on track!! I had a healthy breakfast and packed a great lunch. Now I just have to figure out dinner!! That's my hardest one. I have been searching recipe books for ideas to keep me going. I can hardly wait for it to dry up outside so we can use the BBQ again. Grilled Veggies - YUM!
Gary: You sure are celebrating that birthday. You deserve it!! How much of that cake did you eat?:D Ronni: Are you back on the treadmill? I'm going to try to get a few minutes in tonight while watching Biggest Loser. iwannalose: WTG on not indulging. I have to admit I would have a bit. So good for you for being prepared with healthy snacks. I'll have to remember that when I go to my seminar in April. Laurie: That is such good advice. I often feel guilty that I dwell so much on what I look like and not what I'm really like. I think if we worked harder on the inside we'd probably change our outlook on the outside. Rosebud: Did you say spring? We're back in a deep freeze here again. It's supposed to be up to -2C by the weekend. Isn't it sad that that temp will feel warm to us? Rayne: You are an inspiration to me. Keep up the great work! Hopefully, today I find out who is replacing me at my old desk. then i can finally start training that person and get on with my new position. I'm getting excited about learning new things. I am still studying like mad and hopefully things will stay in my brain and I'll remember them come exam time. Please keep me in your prayers on March 18th. That's exam day. Gotta get going to work. Have a great one! |
