HI GALS ~
Taking some time to check in this morning since Angie and I are going to late service, she plays bells in that one. I have been really busy at work again this week with a lot of miles...and time!... on the road....exhausted when I get home :faint: but the big push on the project is over...for me...I think ;) I think I am far enough ahead I can cut the guys back on OT but sometimes my :drill: boss thinks otherwise :dizzy: I did get off early yesterday and was home about 2:00 which gave Angie and I a chance to get to Costco and do some bulk shopping....funny with the kids all gone now that bulk shopping has gone from once a month or more to once every 3 months or less :carrot: We have plenty of area for storage so we can stock up when we have the time and $$$. I requested prayers for my daughters review for her job on Monday in our Prayer Warriors section  She is an awesome kid...IMHO ;) and deserves the best, as do the people she helps out in her job...it is difficult for her emotionally because of current military conditions of our world. By the way she ran 14 miles yesterday in her training for her upcoming marathon :carrot: My son turned 28 this past week...makes me feel old ;) We were texting yesterday between my breaks at work and his down time at the track meet, he was at, coaching his high school students. Being the head coach he doesn't have a lot of down time during the track meets now but he can text me results from time to time....texting....what a tool....and nuisance :D Spring has certainly sprung here :flow1: nice to see Angie's roses coming out and the flowers around the neighborhood...not that we ever lose all color here in California but there is a difference....OK....a little difference with the plant life through the seasons :) I hope all of you are having SPRING! I have some errands to do after church today but I hope to get back later with some personals to all of you. Have a great Sunday everyone  In Christ ~ Gary |
Hi all - hope you are having a blessed day!
Gary, prayers ascending for your family - especially your daughter :) Well, I got my exercise shoveling today. We got 8 inches of heavy, wet snow. The streets aren't plowed and we barely made it to church in my 4 wheel drive Tracker. There were only about 20 folk that made it out. If DH didn't have to run the sound system and me the media presentation - I don't think we would have ventured out. But, we did to to the grocery store afterward (to make the most of our trip out) and picked up some wonderful vegetables. Grilled veggies for lunch (the asparagus was especially wonderful). Lenten study tonight with pizza and dessert. I'm glad these Sunday night food fests are done tonight. They have been a challenge! Stay warm and dry all. Blessings and prayers ascending! Laurie |
Hi all,
It is a beautiful day here in Virgina and I have taken full advantage of it . First is was off to church and a wonderful service it was, Pastor, spoke on the Passion. By blessing came this morning before I left for church. My youngest DD#5, said she wanted to with me to church and she did just that. She renewed her life's walk with the Lord and decided to come Home to Him. I have been praying for all of my kids, but this one especially for more reasons than I can list. Let's just say, he showed her, her ways and has turned her around. PTL Once I got home, I went for a walk and the sunshine shining on my face was such a pleasant welcome. I intend to give it another go tomorrow. Gary is was so nice to read your post and I will be in prayer for your whole family with a little extra for your lovely daughter. Laurie, bless your heart, you are so faithful. The cold and I are not very good friends, but you knew you a had to do and you stepped up to the plate. You go. I hope warmer weather comes your way soon. I hope all of our MIA's are having a blessed and exciting day. Later gators, Aggie |
THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS FOR MY FAMILY MEMBERS ~ oh, I forgot to mention that my STEP-MOTHER's operation on her bladder to remove the cancer cells is on APRIL 17, 2009. They go into the bladder and do a kind of scraping, trying to remove all the cells; and then they check with tests afterwards to see if they get them all. She has already had 3 of these operations and they were all successful, so we are optimistic, yet still praying for GOD's healing touch too!
LAURIE ~ did you send those snow clouds up to us? We have been having a snowstorm for most of the day and it has been all but a white-out for the last two hours or so. DH loves it; and it really does look pretty, but now he's going out to clean the decks off as it is starting to pile up a bit. NIKO just came roaring in and looked like a mini-abominal snowman! GARY ~ sending up prayers for AMANDA that the Lord will lead her in the right direction and will be with her for her yearly assessment on Monday AM. Gee, never liked those things -- I remember them from my work days of yore ... AGGIE ~ PTL ... how wonderful that your DD#5 has rededicated her life to the Lord; prayers for her that He will guide her and lead her in her new walk with Him! What awesome news, indeed!!! BREN ~ thanks for the prayers! HELLO TO ALL OUR CE FRIENDS OUT THERE, and to all our MIA's too ~ hope you all have a MARVELLOUS MONDAY!!! :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: |
It's been a nice relaxing Sunday for me. I went to church this a.m. and came home and read a book all afternoon. What bliss! DS and I made a ravioli dish together for him to take to a young adult's function at church.
I haven't had a lot of time to post here but I am praying for you! It's getting busy for me at work with learning my new job and training my replacement. I come home mentally tired. Hopefully in a month or two I'll actually know what I'm doing. We got dumped on this week again. The snow was starting to melt nicely and then we got a storm that lasted 2 days. Now we have over a foot of snow on the deck again. We had a lot of fun (yeah right!) pushing DS's little car out of the drifts he got stuck in. Got a workout though so it's not all bad. Anyway, I wanted to touch base and let you guys know that I'm still around. |
hi all! ya'll get snow and we get rain rain rain rain! but, its beautiful watching the dogwoods and pear trees blooming. of course, the rain got rid of the yellow pollen...for a minute.
i have a couple of requests. one is a 17 yr old boy, kory. he drank a 1/2 gallon of antifreeze saturday. he's in the hospital and that is ALL i know. another named Darren has such a heart for God (17 too) and has been battling the enemy and says he;s too tired to look up to God right now. Of course, keep dennis and my mom lifted! i'm battling too, but its just the desire for s-e-x! :) so, just pray God gives me strength. I will wait for my husband!!!! he better be coming SOON! :D i've been praying as i read your notes here...so if i don't say anything, please don't think the prayers aren't spoken...cause they are! and aggie - that's awesome about your DD! |
Aggie: That is so awesome about your daughter! What an answer to prayer for you.
Rayne: I'll be praying for those boys! And for you!! |
Aggie-wonderful news about your DD!
Rosebud-prayers sent for your family members. Tell Numpster I'm thinking about her. Trudy-Welcome! We love new people here. Come back often so we get to know you better. Gary-praying for your DD, as well as for your safety during your long hours and traveling. If you get tired of those "local" jobs that probably pay really well, we need some work done on our bathroom ceiling. Can't pay much, but you'd get to see endless miles of corn fields:lol: Take care! Wilma-You'll be getting the hang of the new job before you know it. Sorry about the new ****, but please, please don't send any of it here:) Bev-praying for you, as well as for the boys, and your mom and brother. Oh, I miss dogwood trees. Such beautiful flowers. There were lots of them in southern IN where I grew up, but they don't grow here, because the winters are too cold.:( Bargoo- Hi to everyone else, too! And, prayers for you all. It was a bad week food-wise here and I'm up again by 2 pounds:p. Don't know why I've been struggling this last little while, but evenings have been bad. I'm starting to think it's because it's now light for longer in the evening (drat daylight savings time!), so I'm trying to keep going and awake by eating and making poor choices about what I eat. I'm also having some tummy issues (MS-related? it started about the same time my face started going numb) and feel very "off" most of the time. Trying more yogurt and fruit to try to balance things out. Otherwise, not much going on here, but :sunny: is out for now and the crocuses bloomed a couple days ago. Also, my daffodils, tulips, and allium have sprouted and are up about 8", so there is hope that spring is here to stay:). Praying that you all have a great day and feel our Lord's presence in everything you do and everywhere you are! |
Hello all. I haven't had a lot of time to post, but I have been lurking. As I read the posts I want you to know that I will be praying for you all. Things for me are going okay. I'm really struggling with my whole weight loss and I don't understand. I know what to do and what not to do and yet I choose to continue to make bad choices. Spiritually I'm not as well as I would like to be. I long for a closer more intimate relationship with Christ, but can't seem to get anywhere regardless of what I do. *sigh* Well I must run for now, but I will be on later.

Aggie - AWESOME news about your daughter!
Rosebud - sorry about the snow! Our Mozart loved the last winter blast as well. I do NOT appreciate all the little ice balls between his toes however. They fall off and melt all over the house. Sunshine today - sending it your way ;) Wilma - prayers continuing for you in your new job! Bev - prayers ascending for the boys - and for you ;) Ronni - prayers for your eating this week. Don't worry about those 2 lbs. Just get back on plan and they will be gone in no time! Dori - baby steps in both journeys are best. One step leads to another, and before you know it - you are making progress. Remember Paul struggled with the same issue (Romans 7:18-20 "For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me." Hello to everyone else. Hope you had a good start to the week! My trip downstate (work related) was good and the weather was warm!!!! No snow once I got 15 miles south of home. It was good to see some folk I haven't seen for a while, and I like driving by myself once in a while - I crank up the music and sing at the top of my lungs :o. Good ol' Christian rock songs just put me in the best of moods! Blessings to all! Prayers ascending!!! Laurie :scooter: |
Hello everyone,
I am here in better spirits today. Last night I was feeling pretty down about myself. Since Friday, I had not been sticking to what I know works for me. I was going over my points like a crazy person and then beating myself up about it, I was feeling like a failure. I had done so well last week and then things just went a rye and I could stop seem to stop myself. Then a special friend of mine told me I had whined long enough and now it was time for me to do something about it. Go to our Father and ask His forgiveness and move on, in so many words. So far today, I have done well, good choices and did a few curls with the weights. I thank God for my friend you listened to me whine and then told me just what I needed to hear. Dori, I understand exactly what you are talking about, we know what we need to do, now we just need to do it. I am always saying that the Bible stays, aftering have done all to stand, then stand. I guess instead of just saying it we (you and I) need to do it and we can In Jesus Name. We will do this together. It's like Laurie said, baby steps. Laurie, Glad you enjoyed that drive and gave those vocal cords a good workout. Sing little Darling. Bev, Well you know, YOU ROCK!! Ronni, Hey there kiddo. That's for the shout out for my youngest DD. Wilma, Praying for you and your new job. My DD was so excited for the rest of the day. It was good to see her that way. Rosebud, Thank you also for that shout out. I was so happy, God does answer my prayers. Love to all who are here right now, prayers and blessings for each of you. Aggie |
AGGIE I have given your e-mail to our church and the secretary got back to me to confirm so if you don't get the Mid-Week Boost direct soon just let me know!
Thank you all for the prayers for my daughter and she thanks you...I will let you know tomorrow the outcome of her review...it went very well! |
Aggie - sounds like a good friend! I'm sure she is thankful for you too. Guess she/he was listening to Daddy...
I haven't heard from my bro. I think he called today, but i didn't recognize the number...and the message was some automated collect call thing. oh well. i plan to see him tomorrow. be praying over the next few days. I am taking some photos at a friend's daycare to sell of the kiddies...I need to make some $$ and pray that every kid gets at least one package! :) Of course, some are doing the spring pics and the cap and gown pic. Please be praying they BUY BUY BUY! And of course that I do a good job! I am trying to save up to buy a digital slr camera. I really need one with all the photos I take (i need to sell my artsy photos) and especially if I go to Ireland. THanks everyone for the prayers for the boys and for my mom and dennis. |
Hi all! Prayers ascending for everyone's requests. Hope your Tuesday is going well and that God is shining through you today
A productive day here. The office was quiet with only one phone call. I got so much done! Well, it is car repair month in my household. First my car, then DH, now DS2 needs about $300 of work done on his. That is $1200 in all :( Good thing I got my tax refund!!! Blessings! Laurie :scooter: |
