Rosebud-prayers sent for your sis and BIL. Sorry about your weather. We finally had a reasonable nice weekend-temp even above freezing for a few hours
Courtney-sorry about your weather too! I remember when I lived in IN & OH that the weather was always changing-was nice though that the snow didn't stay for 6 endless months at a time. The lights at the zoo sound really nice-we've never gotten to do that up here as the closest zoo is a couple hours away and you can never count on the weather
Wilma-sounds like you've had a nice, relaxing Christmas! It's great when family can come and enjoy the holiday together.
Gary-hope you get to feeling better soon. Your holiday and foods sound great! How did your Chargers do? They weren't mentioned on our sports, because they were so overjoyed about our Vikings going to the playoffs My alma mater -U of Cincinnati-is playing in the Orange Bowl too!
Laurie-were you spared the blizzard? Or maybe you got lots and lots of cooking done! Of course, having the stove and oven going keeps the house warmer
Bargoo-Hi and !
Well, we're having some nicer weather relatively speaking-upper 20's and no snow! Even had some of the nasty stuff melt over the weekend! Hope everyone has a great day! You're all in my prayers
Prayers for Rosebud's sister and bil and Alan's family have been sent.
Courtney, my mil is from Springfield, Ohio. Angie says if she wants to go back and visit we can take her and come up and make you enchiladas!
Ronni the Chargers did well...everyone around here happy. DIL gets to cheer in a play-off game! My pastor is a huge Vikings fan...it is rare a sermon goes by without a mention of them! I have Virginia Tech in the pool....sorry!
THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS, EVERYONE: I know that they appreciate it at lot! My sis's DH is an ordained Anglican minister and deals with stuff like this a lot, but it must be so much harder when it's your own DAD. Alan's health has been going up and down for the last several years. It's a long trip: across a province and they are quite high up, so it's very cold there; and they couldn't leave until after work today (2 pm). Thanks to you all ...
RONNI ~ well, it cleared up a bit here, and we actually had some sun early this morning; but, now the snow and winds have returned ... drats!
We decided to take advantage of the warmer temps and went uptown to pick up some staples; January to March are real stormy months here, so everyone likes to stock up becuz sometimes you don't get out for a few days or more. Unfortunately, someone slid on some ice and hit another car in front of our post office today; seems to be a bad spot for accidents. We had some melting here yesterday too and that left us with more ice.
Well, I also made pot of soup out of leftovers and put some up in the freezer; got some walking in but had to rest my poor feet tonight. Over did it a bit, I guess. Well, we'll have a couple of days to rest as the temps are gonna fall again, so they are predicting!
Have a great week, and take good care of each other ~ your fellow encourager ROSEBUD
Hi all - doing fine here. Another weather advisory until late tomorrow. They just keep coming!
But, right now, big beautiful flakes are falling. I took the poles outside and walked a bit - so peaceful and calming - white fluffy snow covering everything!
HI EVERYONE ~ we had lovely sunshine here all day; so nice because the temps fell during the night and it really warms things up for us. Just stayed home and did some light housework and paperwork (letters, bills, and the like). Resting my legs up for tomorrow; gotta go pay a bill tomorrow.
LAURIE ~ have taken my poles out a couple of times already; just short walks, but gotta work my way up this winter. They help me walk in the snow so much better. Hope we get some more sunshine tomorrow too.
Take good care folks ROSEBUD
^^PRAYERS^^ ascending for you and yours ...

Happy New Year's Eve! Everyone have big plans for tonight? Ours consist of sitting on the couch watching the ball drop, which happens at 11 pm here due to time zones, so we can be in bed at a reasonable time! Guess our age is showing!
Not feeling too well at the moment-headache, nausea, sore muscles-I'd say it was the flu but doc put me on a steroid yesterday and those happen to be some of the side effects listed, so I'm guessing I'm not contagious. Fortunately, I only have to take them for 24 hours, as I'm having an mri today and am allergic to the contrast they use, so they're trying to prevent a major reaction. Neurologist here thinks my former neuro dropped the ball on my demyelinating condition and is afraid that it actually is MS, so have several tests scheduled in the next couple weeks. I guess we'll see....
Hope you are all having a nice day and have a great New Year's Day tomorrow! You're all in my prayers. And, I want to say a really big THANK YOU to all of you for all the support this year since I joined 3fc. I know I wouldn't be having any success toward my goal if not for you all!
RONNI ~ sorry to hear that you are being tested for MS; I have friends with that disorder. But you never know, it might NOT be that too; I know when I was ill a few years back, I had symptoms like MS, but I am much better now. They deemed that it was a combination of a rare virus, and a severe infection (in my leg), and peri-menopause all at the same time.
What a combination; I did have a CAT scan eventually, but not an MRI. I guess that was becuz I started to get better, but I do still have the sore muscles and other symptoms now and then. I also have Spina Bifida, so who knows what is related to that??? I did a lot of research at the time on MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epstein Barr, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and so forth becuz they didn't know what it was; and that was very scary ... just not knowing, and feeling like crap with all these odd, weird symptoms with exhaustion, to boot.
We will send up some prayers and hope for a positive outcome. My friends still say that they were glad to finally have a diagnosis so they knew they weren't crazy, but didn't really want THAT diagnosis, as I'm sure you know what I mean. My sister, NUMPSTER, is going through many tests also right now, to see why she has had the same weird symptoms as me, this year.
A friend of mine says that she heard on the news that there is a rare virus going around NA right now, that mimics many of the MS symptoms, so I bet that is causing a lot of issues for doctors trying to sort out the real MS from this virus as well. There are some flus that seem like pneumonia and heart problems too (esp with people having pains in their chests and trouble breathing). Don't envy the doctors right now trying to sort thru all of this.
ANYWAYS, and prayers for you and your family during this time; and ... on losing 50 lbs!!! That is quite an accomplishment, in itself! We are glad that you are here and that we may have been able to help in some small way ...

Hello everyone. I hope it is okay if I join this thread! I go to a great presbyterian church and try to pray daily although sometimes I get busy and forget. Lately I really have been leaning on God. I am going through a rough time (dealing with an eating disorder) and am trying to find the strength to overcome it. If anyone wants to send some prayers my way that would be greatly appreciated.
Liz - We LOVE new folk! You have been added to my prayer list
This is a GREAT group of Christian folk that are prayer warriors! They have truly been a blessing for me on this journey! I know that they will be for you too!
Numpster
Ronni - prayers continuing for you as well. Keep us informed as you get more info from your doctors. God is awesome and amazing and faithful!
Rosebud - I hope you got your bill paid today! And that your leg continues to get better
to everyone! May it be a blessed one indeed!
We are hanging out at home playing with the wii tonight. We will turn on the TV just before midnight (if we haven't fallen asleep). DS2 just left for a friend's house about 2 hrs away - he will spend the night.
A good day today - reflecting on the past year and praising God for all the blessings (and trials) we have had this year.
I looked back at Fitday and realized that not only did I reach my goal weight AND maintain it for 6 months (so far), I started the new year at 164 lbs. (Yes, I remember REJOICING that I FINALLY weighed less than Gary who is 8 inches taller than me). Which means that I am down over 40 lbs. from a year ago
My name is Kathy and I am new to your group, but so glad I found it.
My husband and I have much to be thankful for this year. My husband was laid off for 18 months and finally got a job the week of Thanksgiving. Though it was rough at times the Lord brought us through and supplied all of our need.
In 2009 I want to draw closer to God. I also want to honor the Scripture that talks about our bodies being the temple of the Lord. Right now my temple is not in good shape, but with God's help and the help of all my new friends that will change.
May God bless each of you in the new year and help each of us reach our goals.
