LAURIE ~ these temps are like years ago, so we've been fortunate over the last while having milder winters. Funny thing is, that some people thought it was really cold last year, but this year is much colder everywhere by far. Congrats on 30 years of marriage; hope you have a good evening.
WILMA ~ yes, we'll have to get GARY to send us some of that sunshine up here for sure!
HI GINNY ~ GOD BLESS you with lots of rest and peace soon ...
GARY ~ we have a reindeer that looks suspiciously like a moose on our porch . We looked all over town for a nativity and couldn't find one, but we did finally find a large piece of wood for DH to make a nativity, but I'm afraid I can't talk him into it for this year as his shed is buried in snow already. This year, we are settling for a snowman family with a bird and birdhouse, a moosedeer, and candy cane lights with red bows. That nativity is gonna take some planning, I think.
HOPE all our friends are having a good day out there ...
We went up town to pick up a few things, esp fruit and veggies for the next week; and a last couple of small gifts that were on order. Had a very light dinner tonight; but lots of walking in today. Very icey out there; gonna have to pick up some rock salt for the back porch area as it's pretty slippery out there. Take good care, your fellow encourger ROSEBUD^^prayers^^ ascending for you and yours ...
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am finally back on my feet. The good Lord has been looking out for me and helped me along the way to recovery. I am not sure which was worse. The heart attack or the broken leg the day I came home from the hospital lol. I think the broken leg was worse . It takes me all day to do the things I have to do around here ( none of you really thought I would let the house go did you lol ). So I haven't been on for quite awhile. I am not sure if I will be on much before my doc appointment in Jan depends on how much I still need to sleep. Just wanted you all to know I have been thinking of you and hope things are going well.
Shy - you continue to be in our prayers! Get well soon, and come see us as often as you can.
I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas!
Rosebud - congrats on all the walking! Be careful!!! We have a lot of ice too, and it is very hard to get around!
Gary - Thanks!
Another busy day today - and we had our Tech Department Christmas luncheon. Even eating "light" meant that I had a lot of calories for lunch. I'm thinking supper needs to be a "veggie-laden" affair!
HI SHY ~ have been sending up some prayers for you over the last while; guess that was one of GOD's little whispers. Sorry to hear that you haven't been well, but it did cross my mind, so sent up some prayers for you ... and will continue to do so. Glad that you dropped by and let us know how you are; take good care!
Had a restful day today, just doing housechores around here as per usual. Time to go put on some tea; and do a puzzle maybe. Take good care of yourselves out there; and may GOD bless you with his lovingcare ~ ROSEBUD
WOWEE ~ not many folks popping in here right now; everyone must be sooo very busy during this time. We're just relaxing around here. We had beautiful sunshine today, but the temps outside have dropped to -26C. Yah, baby ~ it's cold out there!
Not much to report but that we ate healthy today; and Dh and I did some dancing around to Christmas music tonight, just for fun! Good exercise too. Well, I hope that everyone out there is doing well. Take good care of yourselves, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD
^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ...

Not much going on around here. Have had all the shopping done for months. House is clean. Doing a bit of laundry. There are some advantages of getting things done through out the year lol. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
I guess we aren't the only ones to experience some scary road ice right now. When we went to town on Tuesday, we tried to make a left and started sliding sideways back down the hill. THANK YOU GOD, for clearing the way; and my Angels for watching out for me, becuz if anyone came over that hill, they would have hit ME RIGHT ON. I had asked DH not to go that way dozens of times becuz it is a blind spot; the hill is steep and anyone coming over can't see you coming until they are at the top and descending fast. Anyhow, DH didn't panic and managed to maneuver us back around the corner; but thanks and GOD BLESS the fella who backed his truck up, so that we had more room as well.
HEY GARY ~ glad your nephew made it home safe with all that bad weather we are hearing about. I was just looking at some pics from LOUSIANA and they have almost a foot of snow in some places and expect more for the next few days; and the same for TEXAS. I heard northern CALIFORNIA got dumped on today too. I guess you are too far south and missed all that nice snow and ice, eh?
HI SHY ~ nice to see you drop by again; and glad to hear you have things all ready for this special season of our LORD's coming to bring us HOPE and PEACE and JOY!
COUNTING ~ DH and I dance around here a lot; we put on the Christmas music the other night and just couldn't help but start dancing around.
Our temps dropped to -33C last night but we had beautiful sunshine today; and it's pretty cold now about -25C, but we are wrapped up warm. It's time to HYBERNATE like a POLAR BEAR!!! I see that GOD has sent some precip to put out the fires and quell the droughts, but this might not be exactly what people expected. Let's pray that everyone that has to travel will arrive safe and sound, over the Christmas season.
Take good care, and drive careful folks, esp in the north and east; maybe the mid-west too? ROSEBUD
^^PRAYERS^^ ascending for you and yours ...

Rosebud where I live it has only snowed once in the last 43 years! And you folks of course wouldn't even have called it snow! I think we made 1 snowball out of it when I was in 9th grade! As you may remember I am 54 now!
However we live near snow...I am within 5 miles of the mountains with snow on them on the job I am currently working on....39 degress! My daughter drove in 18 inches of snow when she went to test the Navy guys a few days ago! That area is 45-1 hour from me!
Hi, Everyone! Seems like forever since I had time to post on here. I've caught a minute here and there to read and try to keep up with you all, but never have more than 5 minutes on the computer at a time Sounds like everyone's been busy and some are even done with Christmas shopping(Shy-glad you're feeling better too! Missed your posts.) I still have some shopping to do, but not much, thank goodness, since the weather is not cooperating at all. We got 8 more inches of snow on top of the 8" we already had and now there's a blizzard warning for today and tomorrow with more snow and very high winds. We might not be able to get to church to listen to the cantata tomorrow and I've been looking forward to that.
DH's shoulder is doing much better. He'll start physical therapy after Christmas and is released to go back to work after New Year's Day! Quite the change from the predictions that he'd be off work for 6 months. He says he'd like some more time off as a "vacation", but i know he's getting bored and we need to have some kind of schedule again (you ladies all know what I mean).
Well, I must go wrap presents since the men are all at DS2's bowling, then are going shopping and I now have the house to myself!
Gary-so glad your nephew got home ok and hope you have more time to visit before he has to leave again.
Rosebud-that ice is sure scary. Praise God for helping keep you from a bad accident. His travel mercies are amazing!
Hi all - a quick post since I have lots to do online and I don't know how long the power will stay on. We lost power at 6 this morning, and it has popped back on twice. Hopefully, for good this time!
We made lemonade out of the whole thing by re-arranging the furniture. Something we were contemplating, and the physical activity kept us warm - LOL.
It didn't get too bad, the sun came out and helped warm the house. We are only down to about 62F in here, so I'm not a Popsicle yet
Off to pay bills finish chores. Hope you all have a blessed day! Prayers ascending for everyone!
COUNTING ~ I was wondering why so many people weren't here, but when I saw the news pics and reports of ice and snow storms across the northeast and the midwest, I understood why. There are many thousands of folks who lost their hydro and of course, that means their heating systems don't work either. You are all experiencing what happens to CANADIANS all the time. I think in our last place that happened to us at least once or more every winter. Some years, we were without heat for a week at a time and not becuz of the hydro outages either.
RONNI ~ so glad to hear that your DH is doing so well; back to work early. Now, how's that for answered prayers? Well, let's give our Lord, His due honor, for hearing and answering our prayers for him. THANK YOU, GOD for being so faithful to us, once again!!!
Here, I thought we were the only ones so cold, but not so. All of North America seems to be in some kind of deep freeze. They are saying this precip has halted the fires and droughts, but people have to adjust to a new, but temporary problem. I sent up some prayers for those who lost their power, so that they would get fixed up soon.
We just stayed home and did stuff around here. DH had to go UP TOWN to get our mail; he keeps forgetting to pick it up. It is going to take us a while to get used to living somewhere else. One day, I forgot and told DH to go the wrong way home; but we had a good laugh about it, and had to take a bit of a detour.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend out there; keep warm and safe too! YFE ~ ROSEBUD
Well, hello, again, everyone! Didn't expect to be able to be back so soon, but we're in for the day since no one's supposed to travel anywhere right now. Still in a blizzard warning and the wind is unbelievable. Temp at -3F but wind chill is in the -30s! Church was cancelled today everywhere, so that people wouldn't be out and get stranded or worse. Just got banana bread out of the oven and it smells wonderful-DH requested it when he saw the mushy bananas on the counter-he called them a "banana bread kit!" But, I must remember that it's about 90 calories per ounce!
Rosebud-yes, I have praised the Lord greatly since finding out DH's shoulder was healed before the surgeon got to it! I've been amazed at God's graciousness to us this fall. We even received a grocery store gift card in a Christmas card this week with no signatures or return address-truly a gift from God right now with all our medical bills. It just brought tears to my eyes.
Counting-Praying that your electricity has stayed on. We had a blackout a couple years ago in Feb and all of us lived in the living room with the kerosene heater for a week! Since we camp, we were able to cook on our camp stove, so we were better off than many others. Hope you're keeping warm!
Hi to everyone else! You're all in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you're having a wonderful Christmas week. It's just amazing to me that our Savior chose to come here as a humble, tiny baby and live with us to learn of our temptations and challenges. I've always wondered how the lives of the shepherds who got to see him first were affected afterward.
Hi all, thanks for you warm wishes and prayers. They truly kept me warm
The power stayed on, but the furnace did not come back on. When DH got home he fiddled with it and finally got it working. Even he doesn't know what he did to get it going.
So, thankfully, we have electricity and heat. Just in time for the next round of winter weather that started this morning and is supposed to continue into tomorrow.
Ah, the first day of winter and we already have several feet of snow
Church was wonderful today, I just love moving through Advent. I finished the decorating around the house last night and played Christmas carols (NOT holiday music - only CHRISTMAS music) all evening. Made some wonderful Christmas Plum tea (a gift from a friend) and spent the evening in meditation and prayer.
