Feeling much better today. Coughed up some gross stuff when I woke up, and have been feeling pretty normal other than the occasional small cough. Methinks I am on the mend!
Yea!!! We're almost to Seattle. That amazing. I can't believe we are so close. I really hope we continue this thread with walking some where new. This has been great. Well, gonna post my miles for the last 2 days.

Michele, perhaps the change from the school year to the summer has gotten you off track of your normal schedule. I am thinking of you, knowing you'll sort it out. Sometimes teachers work sooooooooo hard during the school year, we can't help but to poop out the first few weeks of summer break.
Date: 7/14

Total Miles for challenge: 488
WE MADE IT!!!!
Woo hoooooooooooooooooooooooooo WELCOME TO SEATTLE!! We are here!!!
Congratulations, team!!!! Our total miles are 3074.3!!!Yipppppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eee!!!!
Let the party begin!!!
And I agree with those who want to keep on going! Several have "okayed" the idea of going around the edge of the USA and back to Hopedale the long way... sooooooo.... let's head out with our first major stop San Diego... okay????
The best way to get to the coast highway is go to Olympia and then over to Seaside and down that way. Pacific Highway 101 is stunning and goes right along the coast! Do others agree with this plan? If not, some other ideas????

We ARE there. I think we all made good time. More importantly I am sure each of us is better for the experience. I know that I feel better, look better, have lost weight, and have made cardio a regular part of my week. I'm not quite "there" to say it is a non-negotiable habit. But I am working on it! Thanks to all of you especially Chris and Misti for keeping us on track and adding up the miles.
Good luck to all of you on your journey around the coast and back again. I think I will house sit for Misti while you are all gone.
Misti, you do have free weights and an exercise ball. Don't you. Your new house sitter needs one.
Had a so-so day. I did 2 fitness miles after several days of only doing 1. I'm still struggling with getting in more steps. Jayde, I think you're right about a teacher's schedule and adapting to summer. But I have such high expectations for where I'll be with my weight by the time school starts again.......and walking is important to those goals. I guess I just need a NEW schedule.
Have a great day and CONGRATS on making it to Seattle!
It's nice to be back "home" again. I grew up in the Seattle area, so it's still a really familiar place for me. I can't wait to get started on the road back, though! In fact, here goes...

I convinced my boss to give me a day off to try and fully recover from my illness, so I'm going to take it VERY easy today. Don't expect anything but fractions of a mile from me :P

Well Misti you were right it Seattle is beautiful! Thanks for all of your encouraging words along the way.
...and thanks to everybody for joining us in this challenge, I second Jayde, this has been a real motivator, and has had a postive impact on my health. For me the weight loss has been slow, but I went to the doctor yesterday and he was very pleased with my blood work results and my blood pressure (114/58 - it's never been that low in all my life) So for now I am trying not to focus on the scale and just keep walking and making good food choices.
Well, we made it, mostly without my help, lol. But I'm on board for the new trip..... Hope you guys have a great day, and I'll be adding my miles tonight, as I have started walking with the neighbors in the evening as well as my 5 am walk.
