Hello All
I had my weigh in today and lost 1.8 lbs... that is 3.4 lbs in two weeks... Yeah... I just need to stay focused. To answer your quesion. When I started I weighed 173, and today i'm 169.6.. my goal would be 150 lbs.. or even smaller,, but for now i'm going to focus on 5 lb increments. If I look at the big picture, I lose my motivation :dizzy: . I have really tried to drink my water & to try and get some exericse in...Tonight I have a date with Billy.... (Billy Blanks that is)... we'll I need to run.. I'm having a really bad day... everyone is needing parts...I'm gettting stressed out but i'm reaching for the water instead of candy...I've already drank 48 oz and i'm working on my next 16 oz... talk to you all later |
Well, I finally won the battle for the VCR and got my 30 minutes in today. I'm just sitting here waiting for the mail to come hoping my videos will be here.
SEMO: I forgot to tell you earlier what videos I ordered. I bought one Redbook aerobics video with three different workouts on it, then a Reebok dance aerobics video, and then on that's called Cardio Boot Camp. I thought that was funny. Since my DH is at boot camp, I kind of think of this time as my own boot camp. It looks like it's going to be a tough one. 50 minutes of aerobic and Tae-Bo type stuff. I almost got a couple of The Firm videos. Let me know how you like them. As for my diet plan, after trying them all I have settled on simply cutting calories and exercise. Trying to stay around 1200 calories a day and 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week. This is the ONLY thing that has worked for me. If I hadn't slacked off at the holidays, I'd probably be looking pretty good right now. My mission in life is to be able to shop in the "normal people" section of the store and buy the cutest clothes I can find. Not only that, I would absolutey LOVE to buy a single digit size. With my build, I'm not holding my breath, but boy would that be great! I have a lot of muscle, so I weigh more than I look like usually (thank goodness). Before I gained over the holidays, I was between 182-185 and was wearing 14's to 16's depending on the brand. I figure if I can get down to 145-150, that would be good. But on that note, I won't rely only on the numbers on the scale. I will judge by looks and what size I'm wearing as well and decide what is right for me. 1Day: Sorry you are having such a hectic day. But let me give you a big pat on the back for drinking all that water!!! Keep it up! Well, I'm off for now. Jen  |
Tae Bo
Good morning to everyone on this thread. I am writing this at 7.30 am Sorry if I don't mention you all by name but I don't really know you all yet and when I am typing in my reply I can't remember who said what! Maybe it's my age!
Anyway I put on 1 pound this week at WW :( but I knew that I had done badly and was expecting it. So far, since Wednesday, I have been keeping on track and drinking 2 litres of water every day and do you know I think it really helps to keep the hunger at bay. I fill a 1 litre bottle of water at night, put it in the fridge and start drinking my first glass at breakfast and then by lunchtime I have to fill the bottle again and I know that I have to finish it by bedtime. I ordered my first Tae Bo video tape through the internet yesterday from a company called Blackstar and about 2 hours after ordering it they sent me an e-mail saying that they had shipped it out:D Now that was quick work I thought so hopefully I will get it today or tomorrow:cool: You all sound really nice and friendly on this thread so if you don't mind I will try and write a couple of times per week. Talk to you all later Anne |
good morning all! Gosh I haven't been here in forever.
jehari it's nice to see you again! Are you hangin in there? Hope your hubby is doing well. I have Reebok tape, for step aerobics, and MAN do they work my butt off! (literally! I still alternate tae bo with step just for variety. I have lost 17 lbs since 1 jan, and right now I am wearing my size 8 jeans that I have not worn in 2 1/2 years. :dizzy: BTW, I am only 5'2" tall so I would like to be in a size 6. I am doing the WW thing, but without the meetings. I don't want to spend the money, I am a tight wad LOL!! But I have gotten lots of info from a friend at work and some web sites with food point values and things like that. I have stopped eating fast food all together. It was so easy to walk to Arby's for lunch and grab a hot ham & cheese and some potato cakes. Now I usually have a salad with fat free dressing and maybe some cheese for a little protein. Hi to everyone else! 1day, glad to see you're getting in gear ;) I was worried about you before, but keep that motivation going! (sometimes I feel like richard simmons!) LOL! talk to you ladies later!! lauri |
Happy Friday Morning and hello to all.
One Day at a Time: Congrats on the weight loss, WooHoo and you get two :strong: :strong: workout girls this week, because we all know the weight loss usually drops off the second week but you're doing great! Anne: Glad that you are going to join us, I hope you like your TaeBo's, it's hard but I can tell you from experience it does get easier and so worth the effort. Don't give up. I find that reporting my progress helps me stay on program. I'm slightly competive so I don't want to get behind. Jen: did you get your new tapes yet? We're going to be in great shape in no time at all. Lauri: Nice to meet ya, I've been hanging around for a couple of weeks and hope to get to know you better. I did 8 min TaeBo, 17 min on the orbritreck and 5 on the AbDoer for a total of 30 this morning. I'm a morning person and like to get it over with and into the shower first thing in the mornings. I don't have to think about it again for the day. Anyone else an early bird? Back later work calls. |
Mornin' ladies!
Well, I did just over 30 minutes of the Tae Bo advanced tape today. I've done 30 minutes of exercise for 7 days in a row now! I think that's a record for me. My legs felt a little weak today though, so I think maybe I will take a little easy tomorrow and just go for a walk with the kids. Anne: Welcome! Post here any time you want. The more the merrier they say. Let us know how you like your new tape! Indy: Welcome back! 17 pounds is GREAT!! Good move ditching the fast food....it is evil  !! SEMO: I like to get my work out over with in the morning too. I do it, then shower, then get on with my day. If I don't do it in the morning, then I never get it done. As for the new tape (Boot Camp).... omigosh did I get in over my head!! I've only been getting back into the exercise thing for a week now and that is MEGA tough. Very high impact, lots of jumping around. Quite frankly I just have too much fat still hanging around to do that much jumping! I think the instructor is made of rubber!! I think I'll stick with the aerobics and Tae Bo for a few more weeks before I try that. But I'll tell ya one thing for sure... the day I can finish that video, I will be a goddess!! I'm still waiting for the 2 other aerobic tapes I ordered and they should be here today. Anyhoo, gets thats about it for now. Talk at ya later, jen  |
Good Afternoon
We'll today is another rough day, but i'm sticking to my plan. I know I can easily pick up a candy bar, but i've worked too hard for my 3 lb loss. So i'm drinking lots of water.. Jen Way to Go on the Exericse, I know those legs are a little sore right now, but in no time they'll be slim & sleek..But don't overdo, you don't want to get hurt. Semo I'm a morning person too, I just can't seem to get up though, my alarm goes off 45 min. prior to me having to get up, but i just don't get up & do it.. I"m still working on it though.. IndyLauri I go to the WW meeting here at work, not in my building, but a 5 min walk. I enjoy going & meeting other people. I'm a tightwade too... & i get mad when I have a gain... I think that just cost me $ 10 bucks to weigh in..You need to check in more often & help keep me on track.. Ann Check back in as often as you want. We're all here for support & any help that you might need. I"m also on WW.. |
Ladies!! 6 pages wow! Are we good or what? LOL!!
1day, I am so happy for you!! It is easier to stay on track when you start seeing the results. I do the same thing. There is always candy or doughnuts around my office, and I just keep picturing my butt in my smaller jeans if I don't eat it, and in the big jeans if I do eat it. It works for me. Jen, I know what you mean about the flab and jumping around. I remember feeling that way too. It's kind of cool when you can notice you aren't "flopping around" so much, once the firming starts. SEMO, nice to meet you too! I exercise in the morning as well. I was doing it at night, but I'm going to be putting in some late nights at work (new computer system, have to train, and input all the patient info) so I know I won't be feeling like it at night. I enjoy getting it over with, so I don't have to think about having to do it after work. mooz, welcome to our little family. I guess I am kind of the buttkicker of the group according to 1day. If your morale gets low, I'll be here to "pump you up":D Everyone have a great day! I am having my coffee then I will be letting Billy Blanks have his way with me. buh bye!! Lauri |
Good Morning...
It's been a long week, so I had plans on sleeping in late... we'll that got interupted with a phone call from work... so now i'm logged on & doing some work... thought I check the site out for a few minutes. My plans are to work out both days, since the week days get hetic for me & I come home tired & skip a work out... we'll i need to run... work is calling me.. |
Hello All, just peaking in to see if anyone is out and about. You know that TaeBo for 40 and over that I thought had to be at least 45 min, WELL it wasn't. It was only 30 minutes, but I made it through a little easier today. I was up and finished before 6:00 then colored my hair and went to town to buy groceries.
DH and I are going to the movies a little later to see "We were Soldiers" with Mel Mibson. OMG is he ever handsome!! Yeah, hubby knows that I think that he is a hunk. I'm being a little :ink: today, don't know why the weekends are so darn hard. I'm drinking water like crazy so I can pass on the popcorn tonight. I gotta run. |
Mothers Day
Is it mothers day today in other parts of the world or is it just here in UK and Ireland? Anyway I have been eating far too much today and it is not even 2 o'clock yet:( So I have come to 3FC for some words of encouragement to stop me before I make a complete pig of myself:ink:
Could everyone tell a little about themselves and where you are from so I can get a mental picture in my head? I am 50 years old (I hate admiting it) I am married with three kids aged 21, 19 and 16. I look after my mother , who lives with us. She will be 90 this year. I weigh about 168 pounds and I am 5' 6". I have blonde hair (out of a bottle) God only knows what colour I really am now but I used to be light brown and I have probably got quite a lot of grey by now but I like being blonde and I figure that I should have been blonde as I have fair skin and two of my brothers were fair. I like walking and do at least two miles every day and I go linedancing twice a week and once I get my Tae Bo tapes I hope to be doing that also. So I try to keep myself quite fit but I cannot seem to shift any pounds and I seem to store most of my extra weight around my waist and tummy. My problem is that I have a sweet tooth and have to have some sort of chocolate biscuit every day:mad: Talk to you all later. Anne |
Hi mooz!
Mother's Day in the US of A is in May. The second sunday, I think. I am 42 years old. I am originally from Indiana, but my hubby of 21 years is in the Air Force so we are in Wyoming until we retire in 5 years and move back home. I have two sons, 11 and 13. I too have out of the bottle hair, red. LOL!! Recently I have been letting it grow though, and its kind of a salt and pepper. I have been coloring it since 1993 and just got tired of doing that once a month. I was doing tae bo, but I could not get into the advanced workout, so I went back to my step aerobics. I alternate Jane Fonda with a Reebok step video. I work out every day. And I am following the weight watcher points plan. I get additional exercise from yelling at 1 day and kicking her in her backside. She knows I luv her though ;-) Seriously, 1 day, how's things? I see you have been busy at work. I am going to have a ton of OT coming up. We have a new computer system, and have to enter all of our Patient info into it. Plus we are moving our offices the first week of April. I am having waaay too much fun! :dizzy: Gotta get ready for work, ladies! Everyone have a great day! Lauri |
Anne, sorry that I didn't get on line yesterday, I hope you got through the day without hurting yourself TOO much on the chocolate. And I hope you had a great Mother's Day. Mother's Day in the US is May 12th this year.
I tried my first shot at Yoga Saturday. I really liked it and even though I didn't get my heart rate up it felt so good to stretch all those sleeping muscles. Of course I didn't come any where close to making my hands touch the floor. I would like to do it daily but the tape is an hour long and I don't know If I can work it in, in addition to my other exercises. Did the Basic TaeBo this AM and have already downed 33 oz of water. I'm leaving work after I finish payroll, I have to take my car in for some warranty work. Everyone have a great day! |
Mornin' ladies! Here I am for my morning motivation. :D
Well, here's a little about me.... I'm 29 years old, live in a dinky town called Middleton Idaho, my husband is currently in Fort Knox KY going through basic training, and I have a six year old son, and my daughter will be three on the 21st of this month. I am 5'5" tall, and guess what??? My hair is out-of-the-bottle blonde too!! Getting a bit brown around the roots again though. I was VERY active when I was younger and managed to keep my weight down. Then I got married, and went through 4 pregnancies. I lost the first two (1 at 3mos and one a 4mos) and I got depressed and put on about 40 pounds over those 3 years. Then with each of my kids i put on even more and never lost it. I knew I was fat, but didn't realise HOW fat until last February when my friend (who has gotten fat right along with me) got suddenly inspired to diet and in turn she inspired me. I bought a scale, stepped on it, and was HORRIFIED  !! 246 pounds!! That was almost my full term pregnancy weight with my daughter. I ran to the closet. I'd worn nothing but stretchy cotton pants so I guess I didn't notice how much I was packing on. Surely I could fit back into my 22 jeans. But no! I couldn't get them on past my hips. THAT was the day I woke up and said NO MORE!! I am now 192, and happy to say I've given the 22's away, but I fell off the wagon for several months and am back on track now. OOPS! I guess that was a LOT about myself :^: . ANYHOO, I'm going to try my new Reebok dance video today. I'll let ya know how it goes!! Jen  |
Thank you all for the words of encouragement and for telling me a little about yourselves.
Did you notice that IndyLauri and Semo submitted their replies at exactly the same time - 2.44 pm. Just another little piece of useless information:lol: I didn't do too badly yesterday after posting my message - maybe just writing about it helped. I received my 3 Tae Bo tapes today and just got to look at about 10 minutes of the instructional one. My youngest daughter is off school with the flu and she wanted to lie on the settee and watch TV. My other two are both at university one in first year and the other in his final year. They are both in Belfast during the week and come home at the weekends mainly to get their clothes washed, get fed and get rested up for the following week ahead. :rolleye: Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to get started this Tae Bo and when or if I get the hang of it maybe the pounds will move :jig: Gotta go now but will call in later on in the week. Anne |
Hello all!
I started my tae-bo tapes again today after dusting off about three inches of dust.:) I was just curoius about how much weight each one of you faithful tae-boers have lost since you started the tapes. My birthday is the 23rd and I'm hoping to make some kind of difference in my body before then. I know that's around the corner, but hey, miracles can happen. I started a crazy diet of hot chocolate in the mornig and afternoon, since it fills me up alot. I have fruit in between and eat a sensible dinner. I gues you could say it's like slim-fast, but without the nasty shakes. When I tried the tapes before, I never saw any real results, but everyone around me did. Has that happened to any of you? Well, if you could let me know how fast you saw results and how many pounds you've lost I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot! Kyra |
Good Afternoon Ladies
A little about me... I"m 40, single & no children, except my dog...he's like my kid to me. When I first started I weighed 173lbs... and for the first two months did not really lose anything, I always had excuses of why not to exercise. Then Lauri, got on my butt & in the last two weeks i've lost 3.4 lbs. I'm doing WW & for exericse I have a treadmill & taebo tapes & Richard Simmons tapes & Leslie Sansone & Jane Fonda & a healthrider in the garage... As you can see, I'm always looking for that "MIRACLE" exercise or piece of equiptment. But i've come to realize, the only miracle is to exericse & eat right. My work brings alot of stress & alot of eating out with the clients. I have gained close to 18 lbs in the last 1 1/2 years. My problem is when I go out to eat I eat the appetizers, then the meal & top it off with dessert. WW is helping me with my food portions... Semo - Good for you trying yoga... I heard it really help the muscles with all that stretching... Just work it in when you can. Lauri - Is there any chance that your hubby might have to go out of the country. I hope not.. Jen - I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriages. You went through such a difficult time. Anne - work at your own pace on the video's. You can do it.. just be sure and modify if you need too.. we'll I better run... |
Well, here's how the exercise went for the day....
I put in the Reebok dance video only to be proven a completely uncooridinated clutz!! I did OK for a while, then she started with turns and crossing over with the feet and I just couldn't get it right. I took it out and put my old aerobics video in and did that instead. All combined I got 35 minutes in....15 minutes of tripping over my own feet and 20 minutes of aerobics!! I will try it again tomorrow and see if I can catch on. Yesterday I only did my 8 minute Tae Bo. I intended just to rest Saturday, but I think 3 hours of walking around stores shopping while waiting for my car to get out of the shop counts for something, don't you??? It's so hard to find a good video that ya like to do, that's not too hard, but is still challenging. I have one more coming in the mail, so I hope I like it. Anyhoo, I've got to go...my children are telling me they're hungry....again. Jen  |
hi girls!! I am in the need of a little backside kicking myself. I have been on this plan since 1 jan. And frankly I want a big mac LOL!!! I am trying to stay motivated, but I am having a difficult time. I don't think my hubby knows how to help me.
anyway, 1 day, no thank God my husband does not have to go anywhere. His specialty field was originally Missile Maintenance, Now he runs training. However, one of the docs I work for (there are 7 and he's myfavorite) was called over, because he's in the Wyoming Air Guard. Don't know what they want with an ob-gyn LOL!! He's actually a flight surgeon as well. So I am stressed worrying about my friend. He does keep in touch with me through email. And I talk to his wife about once a week. Someone, mentioned some TaeBo for us old hags? I forget who that was, but are there really videos for those of us over 40? I would like to check those out please. You all have a good day! Lauri |
Good Morning Ladies, I get so excited when I come back here and see lots of posts. Frankly I post on another site and it seems they start off great then fizzle out. So I'm enjoying being with you guys.
I had my car worked on yesterday too. I picked up my youngest son (college student) and we had a nice lunch and did some shopping (he is leaving for spring break on Sunday-FL) I enjoyed the day and went to the hobby shop and actually spent about an hour and a half just walking and looking around. (Usually I have someone tapping a foot because they are ready to go) I have to add that I'm a blonde out of the bottle too!:o That's funny to me that we have so many blonde ladies. Heehee I think that I am almost totally gray by now, I had quite a lot of gray by the time I was 30. DH is black headed with very little gray showing. I've told him it's because I'm easy to get along with and he's not therefore I got the gray by putting up with him. Not really he's a good guy. Did 30 min on the Orbritreck this morning and drinking my water. I've started taking my vitamins again and think that I'm feeling better. (more engery) Or it could be the exercise or both. Well I had better get back to work, seems everyone dropped something off on my desk yesterday while I was away. Lauri, I almost forgot to tell you that I was the one that purchased the TaeBo for over 40 and it's a little harder than the basic tape (or at least I thought so). Don't know how it would compare to the Advanced tapes because I don't own any of those. |
Hello all!
I SO did NOT want to exercise today, but I did it anyway. I really need to find a video I like soon, or I might be heading for a burn out. Did 40 minutes of Tae Bo today. My muscles feel like jell-o right now. I'm not feeling sore or anything, but my muscles feel kinda weak....it's weird. I wonder if I'm not eating enough calories for the amount of exercise I'm doing. Is 1200 enough you think?? It's always so tempting to cut the calories, but after much reading on the subject, anything less than 1200 is counterproductive. Oh yeah.....here's a big *KICK* in the butt for ya Lauri!! Talk at ya later, Jen  |
Good Afternoon Ladies
Jen - Way to Go on the exercise. I know you didn't feel like it but you stuck to it...There is a website that sells video's, I can't think of the name, but i'll look & see if i can find it...They have thousands...maybe you find something you like...Do you have cable? I know in the mornings on Lifetime channel, Denise Austin is on there every morning. On your calories 1200 does sound to low to...I'll see what some of the web sites say. Semo - What is a orbritreck? I've been meaning to ask you. I also need to start taking my vitamins... I have some on the kitchen counter, I always seem to forget them...maybe i need to bring them to work. Your son is going to Florida.. he will have a blast.. TV has been advertising "spring break" on the MTV channels... boy some of those girls are barely wearing any cloths...(Wish I had a body like them).. Lauri - sometimes your body just craves something fattening. One thing you could do, is order the burger, no fries & eat only 1/2 of it... maybe that would satisfy your craving. Well for me... I been staying OP, and drinking my water... the hard part for me is still the exercise... but i did manage to walk 2 miles last night... Need to run, talk to you all later... |
Patty the Orbitrek is an elliptical machine. Go to your search and type in Orbitrek and the one I have is the original. The cost is a lot lower than when I purchased mine. It's a cross between a stepper and a bike, it reminds me of riding a bike standing up. Anyway, I've had quite a collection of exercise equipment and most ended up as expensive clothes racks. But I've had this for over a year and I'm still using it. When I started I could only do 2 minutes, (of course having the handle bars on backwards didn't help) ;) and now I can go 30 to 50 min without having a heart attack. I just turn on the music and go.
Lauri, I still eat at fast food places every once in awhile. What I do is order a childs meal, fun meal, etc. That way you get to splurge and still not do too much damage. I'm not saying do this every day but when you have to have that hamburger you can. I'm still playing catch up after taking off yesterday, so I better run. |
Hello ladies. I went through the Tae Bo instructional tape today to try and learn the different moves - I think I will need to repeat it again tomorrow:dizzy: I suppose all you girls are by now experts at it :strong:
I didn't go to WW tonight as I felt fat and did not want to pay £4.30 only to be told that I had put on weight:( My youngest daughter is still off school with the flu and she is feeling really miserable but there is not a lot can be done for it as I think it just runs its course. I am really tired now and I really should be in bed as it is nearly midnight and I have to get up at 7 AM to make my hubby's lunch before he goes to work at 7.20 Will call again. Anne  |
Just wanted to pop in real quick. I FINALLY found a new video. I had to run to the store, and next door to the store is a pawn shop. I just happened to peek in the window and saw an aerobics video. It was only $2 so I figured what the heck. I came home and popped it in the VCR and I LOVE it!! It's just what I was looking for. It's from the 80's, so the hair styles the girls have are a crack up, but the workout is great.
Anne: I don't think anyone is an "expert" at Tae Bo except Billy Blanks himself! Don't worry, it does take a few tries to get it right, but you'll have it in no time. Just stick with it!! Anyhoo, I'm off for now. Jen  |
Good evening Ladies
Anne - believe me I know i am no expert. I just do as much as I can, and when it gets to be to much... I just walk & catch my breath. I know how you feel about having to pay WW for gaining weight, but here we have to pay for missed weeks anyway, so i figure I might as well get my money's worth. Jen - Way to go on finding a video at the pawn shop, I never thought to look there. I have a friend who went garage shopping a while back and found lots of exercise tapes for like $ 1.00 each. I didn't walk on the treadmill or do a exericse video... instead I walked the dog for 1 mile. we'll I need to run... I need to work on my taxes........ talk to you all tomorrow... |
Good morning ladies. It is a beautiful day here in Ireland today. It is a bit frosty but the sun is shining and it is not even 8 am yet.
I am going to tackle Billy Blanks later on this morning after I have done my usual 2 mile morning walk. :strong: I think I actually get plenty of exercise and would lose this weight if only I could control the food side of it and I don't know if I will ever be able to do that. I feel good about it this morning and feel in control but I have felt like this numerous of times over the past 20 years and everything would be going well for a few days and then for no reason that I know of I just want to eat :nono:and so all the good work of a few days is gone in a few hours  Have any of you ladies any advice for me about staying in control of my food all the time as this is where my problem lies.I suppose this is the problem of most of the people who write on this forum :?: I have a lot of cleaning to do today as my hubby was sanding down the walls in the bathroom last night and the dust seems to have gone everywhere around the house :( The bathroom used to have wallpaper on it and then he stripped it and put emulsion on it but after a few weeks the paint started flaking off so now he has to sand down the walls to get rid of all the paint before he treats the walls with something and then paints them again. I will be glad to see it finished and I know he will too. Will call later. Anne |
Happy Wednesday Ladies!
Anne: I would consider myself and excellent TaeBoer.  That one deserves two laughs! Work on the form and alinement of the body first. And go at your own pace then as time goes you will be able to pick up speed. Even though I thought that I was in fair condition I found the tapes to be VERY challenging and it took a while before I could do the whole thing now I'm working on putting more engery into it. Keep us posted on your progress. I ordered some new Denise Austin tennis shoes off QVC this morning I hope they work. I have such a hard time with tennis shoes, first I have wide and thick toes :^: (runs in my family) and if they come up on the ankle it just kills me. It rubs on that little bone, I have fat ankles too, another family trait. My family calls me the QVC queen, I love gadgets and we live in a rural area so we don't have much of a shopping area. The internet has given me such wonderful shopping opportunities. DH says he can tell by the credit card bills!! Oh well those bills make a good incentive to get up and go to work every morning. It won't be long before yard sales start up, do any of you like them or flea markets. I love old stuff and like to refinish furniture when time allows. I better get busy, time a wastin. |
Hello again ladies - this is the first time I have reported back twice on the one day;)
I did Billy Blanks Tae Bo 2 today and I thought I got on all right with it but I think I will need to go back to the instructional to make sure that I am doing the moves right. :strong: Semo: We don't have yard sales here in Ireland but we do have car boot sales. I usually call in just to see what is for sale and sometimes I would set up a stall and try and get rid of some of my own junk. Do most people take part in the yard sales? Refinishing furniture sounds really interesting - did you teach yourself or did you go to classes to learn about it? The sun is still shining here and it is 4pm and I am feeling good. Will call back later and check the post - this is very addictive.:D Anne  |
Hello ladies!
Well, I had decided to not exercise when I got up this morning cuz my back was tweaked, but now since I've been up and around a bit, it's feeling much better so I think I'll try the new video I got yesterday. I'll pop in later and let ya know how it goes. Jen  |
I'm back again, so how's everyone's day going?
Anne, I started re-doing furniture when hubby and I first married. (32 years ago) We didn't have the $ for new things so I just took what anyone would give us and then picked up some used stuff here and there. Over the years I have developed a love for antiques and have collected some nice things most of which I have re-done myself. (Okay so I'm cheap) It's just something about the workmanship on the older pieces that I love. Same with jewelry, I check pawn shops for estate pieces too. Most of those I can't afford, but I still like to look and occasionally I find a real bargain. Jen: Now you have made me feel guilty for not exercising this AM. I hate it when I don't do it first thing in the morning, because I've thought about it all day. Then when I went home for lunch there were my new FIRM workout tapes that I had ordered. I ordered some of the older ones....cheap. Patty and Lauri, how are you guys doing today? Back to work for me. |
Well, I done it. 30 minutes of aerobics and the 8 minute Tae Bo. I upped my caloried intake to 1400 yesterday and that seemed to give me that little boost. I think 1200 was too few for someone working out almost every day. I had lots of energy through my workout instead of feeling like a limp noodle.
Anyhoo, my little one is taking a nap, and that is a rare occasion so I think I'll go renew my blondness with Miss Clairol  . Talk at ya later, Jen  |
Hello Ladies -
It was another busy day at work & I wasn't able to get on line. Tomorrow is my weigh in day... I sure hope I do good. I not much into garage sales, but my brother is... He is alwaying going to estate sales & garage sales. He has found alot of good buys. When I go I always seem to find junk. It's a beautiful day here so i'm probably going to just walk the dog again tonight. Maybe we'll do 2 miles... Jen - I'm glad to hear you have more energy today.. I think 1200 was to low for you... Semo - I try & stay away from the QVC channel, how do you think I ended up with the taebo 6 pack tapes or the Leslie Sanone tapes..:D Anne - Are you journaling & drinking your water? I know for me when I don't journal I don't realize what all I have eaten. When I journaling, I guess I feel in control of what I should eat. Now there are days, when I feel like i'm starving & sometimes I do go over my points but I try and eat more fruits or veggies. I try to make better choices. |
Good morning ladies. The sun is shining here in Ireland today again and after reading all your replies I am feeling motivated again.I think you are all writing when I am in my bed and so I get all your messages in the morning which is good for me so don't you dare stop!:nono:
SEMO You are getting me very interested is starting to look for bargains and antiques. You must get a great sence of achievement when you buy some old piece of furniture and do it up like new again  JEN Hope you got on well with Miss Clairol ;) I think 1200 calories was too little for you to be eating especially when you have two little children to look after.:dizzy: I think 1400 calories is about 20 WW points which I know if I could stick to it I would definately lose weight.:) PATTY I do try to drink about 2 litres of water each day. I have a 1 litre bottle which I fill every night before I go to bed and keep it in the fridge and I have my first glass of water immediately after my breakfast - in fact it is sitting in front of me now as I type this. My downfall is journaling - how did you guess? :?: Are you kicking my butt now? :o I find it really hard to keep my journal - I can do it for the first two days after weigh-in but then it just falls by the wayside:mad: OK, just for you, as I have 6 days to go before I weigh-in again .I shall keep my journal just to see if it makes any difference:D OK I'd better go and get on with the day. Will call again. Anne |
Irish stuff in the run up to St Paddy's Day
An Irishman's Life Philosophy
"In life, there are only two things to worry about, either you are well, or you are sick. If you are well, there is nothing to worry about, but if you are sick, you have two things to worry about; either you will live, or you will die. If you live, there is nothing to worry about, if you die, you have two things to worry about; either you will go to heaven or to ****. If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about, but if you go to ****, you'll be so busy shaking hands with your friends, you won't have time to worry!" |
To all you ladies
AN IRISH BLESSING
May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. |
Good Morning to All! I started my day with a Yoga for Dummies tape and side kicks (25 on each side) this morning. I seem to have everything under control except my eating. Gosh, I get better at one thing then sort of drop the ball on something else. This is just my second time through the Yoga tape (once thru Journal Yoga for beginners and then the Yoga for Dummies) Have any of you tried yoga? It really makes your muscles feel so good after a stretch. I'm going to try and do these every other day and TaeBo or Firm on the next. I bought some of the older Firm tapes and they were delivered yesterday, but I haven't been able to watch them yet. If I keep adding to my video collection I'll be able to start an exercise tape rental soon. ;)
Well I have bills to pay and invoices to run. I'll check back later. |
Mornin ladies!
Well, I am seriously lacking motivation this morning. My kids got me up at 4a.m.!! UGH!! As soon as I get done posting I'm going to get a big drink of water and exercise anyway. Hoping it will help me wake up and get going. 1Day: Hope that weigh in goes well for you. Keep you fingers crossed for me cuz mine is tomorrow!! Anne: Yes, me and Miss Clairol got along just fine! I am quite blonde today!! I too get tired of journaling, but have found it keeps ya honest. For several weeks I was convinced that I had hit a plateau and was just ready to give up. Then I went back through my journal, only to find I hadn't been as good as I thought. I had been gradually eating more and more, and had been slacking on my exercise. It's amazing how well i can lie to myself!! SEMO: I know what you mean!! I am aquiring quite the collection of videos myself. Haven't tried yoga yet though. Is it just stretching exercises?? Does it give you a work out?? Well, perhaps I will pop in later. I will need some distractions today to keep me out of the fridge!! Later, Jen  |
Tae Bo
Hello Everyone!
I just joined this board today...the more I look around on here the more I think "THIS IS FABULOUS!!" I have a brand new set of 8 TaeBo tapes that I got off QVC...I bought them for myself for Christmas. I told myself that at the beginning of the year I was going to get healthy by exercising, losing weight, quitting smoking. Well I quit smoking on FEB 19, and I rejoined WW on March 6. Now...if I could just get motivated to exercise. I need a swift kick in the butt from all of you currently doing Tae Bo to get started. I watched part of the first tape (it is NOT an instructional)...it didnt look too bad. But I have a feeling that I will feel like dying after 10 minutes. Any advice from anyone regarding getting started with this Tae Bo or exercise in general would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Barbara in NJ |
Welcome Barbara.
I have only recently started posting on this thread and the ladies on it are very friendly and supportive:) I have just purchased three Tae Bo tapes this week and one of them is instructional which I needed to show me how to do the moves correctly. Yesterday and today I did the Tae Bo tape 2 which I enjoyed but the other ladies here may be doing a more advanced tape :dizzy: I also go to WW and because of the encouragement I have been given on this thread today I have actually been writing in my journal what I have eaten :smug: So if it is a kick in the butt you need then stay with this thread and you will get it :nono: Anne |
