100 mile walking challenge
 
Anyone up for a 100 mile walking challenge?

What would the time period be? I'm walking 15 miles a week right now, but after this week am thinking about upping it to 20 or 25... Just let me know!

I'm in! I hit my first 100 for 2006 March 1 (100.96 to be exact). But I am aiming to take fewer than 60 days for the next 100! So far, I'm at 108.96 for the year, so my goal is to get to 200 miles by the end of April at the latest (hopefully by Easter). That works out to about 16-17 miles per week if I finish by Easter. 12.5 if I go til the end of April. With working full time and having 2 kids and a husband, I just don't know if I can do it any faster. But I'll try if I can!

I am in. I have walked 159.45 miles to date from Jan 1, but will make my goal be for 260 miles.

I am in for the 100 when do it begin and end like in a month or so. I do at least 20 miles a week so far pushing to go 20 times 5 that would be cool.

you can start today... and it ends when ever u hit your 100 miles.. we can just post our progress like we do with our weight

In 2004 I walked 573.74 miles. However, in 2005 I only walked 184.11. Is it any wonder I gained back everything I had lost PLUS???

My personal goal for 2006 is to hit at least 600 miles and to weigh less than 200 pounds. I turn 40 later this year and want to enter that decade on the road to a healthier ME!!

This challenge will help me get there!

wow thats impressive michelle! I go to curves 3x a week and do my gazelle.. but for some reason i dont see the weight loss with those exercises like i do with the walking... seems like the walking just melts the weight off! and I wanna be in onderland soooo bad! now if the weather will just cooperate!

i went out and walked my 3 miles for today.. so i truly do have 97 to go now!

Question is the 100 for the hole month of march so then that means I can go back and count my miles starting from march the 1st.

Count me in as well! I need a challenge. So I will start today. I have a few miles walked since March 1, actually since January 1 but with this being a challenge I will start from today. Not sure if I will challenge myself with a time frame to do the 100 miles in or just walk until I reach 100 miles??? :?: :chin: Something to think about in the next few days. Anyway...I'll post tomorrow what my walk is for today. I'm also going to put it in my sginature.

Well, didn't get in a walk yesterday after all. But today is a 2 mile walk for me. Will change that in my sig. I've decided not to put a time frame on when to get the 100 miles done. I always feel when I add that time frame it sets me up for failure so...no time frame, just going to do it.

Can I log miles on my Elliptical? I don't want to intrude on the theme, but I need some group inspiration and a fun target goal.....If you think it would be too easy against the walkers, I'll double my milage (200) to make it fair....or maybe we could race on your zelle.....? Updated my ticker this AM to reflect the previous days efforts. Note: I am only tracking intentional exercise though. I do walk a lot on campus and while I'm at work doing various tasks, but I don't want to count those. (I'm too lazy to wear my pedometer) ;)
