Hello ladies~

I'm back again! I was doing so well with my walking and then it got cold! Brrrrr.....now I am lucky to get a mile in. I need to get the motivation back so here I am, I have got to get back on track! It's just too darn cold out. But Monday morning I AM headed to the mall early. Not even going anywhere near there on the weekend-too many people Christmas shopping to walk. I do have a treadmill at home but it bores me to death and it is too easy to get off. But I DO plan on getting in 5 miles this weekend and will set a December goal for 45 starting today, Dec. 10th. Would rather go low than too high and then not make it.

Everyone is doing a great job with their walking, keep up the good work ladies!

A little over 3 miles on the bike trail today. I'm up to 11.25 for the month.

melekalikimaka 12-12-2005 12:48 AM

Whew! 3.5 miles this morning and 2.5 hours at the swap meet (but I won't count those)... my feet hurt!

25.75 for the month and 24.25 to go :dancer:

Dinahgirl 12-12-2005 06:15 PM

I did a 45 minute dvd with George Foreman...Walk and Box...I'm calling it 3 miles. So I'm at 14.75.

melekalikimaka 12-13-2005 01:23 AM

2 miles in the rain with a bum knee :( I need to find a Sports Medicine doc nearby...

27.75 for the month, 22.25 to go.

Go Dinah!

Keep it going ladies, we're almost at the halfway mark of the month. We can do this!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this group, but I did set a walking goal of 75 miles at the beginning of the month. So far, I'm at exactly 30 miles. Hopefully by the 15th I'll be halfway there! Mostly, I walk with Leslie, but it's been nice weather lately, so I've been walking a bit outsude as well. Yesterday I did a 4-mile walk with Leslie.

Best of luck to everyone on reaching their goals!

I wanted to come in here and say that I am walking (power walking) I just have this habit of putting it in my blog , I haven't added them as of yet , I don't want to feel pressured (stupid huh) ...and if I don't make it this month (crossing fingers that I will) that just gives me something to strive for right....

I've already surpassed last month's totals AND I'm just over half-way to my December goal! PLUS......TODAY IS A SNOW DAY (I'm a teacher) :cb: :cp: !! I plan on at LEAST an hour of walking today. I just haven't decided whether it will be treadmill, Leslie or a combination. Plus I'll be able to do my stairs. I don't have a stepper, so I walk the flights of stairs. It's great for the legs and if you do it quickly it can be great for your heart!

Thanks for sharing your endeavors--it is really helping me stay motivated!

Hi,

Haven't been here in awhile. I am in the same boat as Cristi. I walked every day from April through the first half of November but now that it's cold out....I have tried the stepper but it is boring. I need motivation and/or a kick in the butt! How can I overcome my dislike of the cold?

melekalikimaka 12-14-2005 05:01 PM

Hi ladies, 3.25 miles for me this morning. 31 for the month, 19 more to go. Wow! I didn't know I would rack up the mileage so fast....methinks a higher goal is in order for next month

Cindy_Gail, I don't know about overcoming the dislike to cold but maybe if you're forced to use the stepper, maybe a new CD of music you like or watching your favorite TV show at the same time will make the time pass quicker? I know I used to get bored with my treadmill real fast if I didn't have some good, upbeat music to make me keep a fast pace. Luckily, I can walk outside for most of the year here. :sunny:

Michele, good job on your progress! :cp: Enjoy your snow day.

Welcome Christina

Keep going everyone :dancer:

2.5 miles at the bike trail after work, then it got dark. :( But I'm at 17.25 now!

Dinahgirl 12-14-2005 09:08 PM

Forgot to say....just want to share...today is my one year anniversary for quitting smoking. What an awesome year...one year ago I couldn't walk 1/2 mile much less what I'm doing now. Thank you all for keeping me motivated!

WTG, Dinah! :cheer:

I ended up doing the Power Mile, 1.47 miles in 25 minutes on the treadmill AND 30 minutes of shoveling! My back is complaining this morning!

Oh, well.....I'm 2/3 of the way to my December goal and feeling really good about my progress. I didn't even munch all that much yesterday (even though I was home ALL day)!

Well, off to shower and get to class!

Michele

Cindy_Gail 12-15-2005 10:17 AM

Well, I did it - got out in the cold and walked 3/4 mile. It actually felt good. Much colder and windy today so it will be the stepper.

Dinahgirl, congrats, that is so awesome. I am an ex-smoker too. You won't regret it.

Thanks all for your suggestions/support.

Hi everyone! I hope all of you are staying warm.

I've had a good couple of days. Tuesday I walked 5 miles and Wednesday I walked 4. I'm not usually quite that ambitious, but I was full of energy for some reason! I am now officially more than halfway to my December goal of 75 miles!

I hope you all have a wonderful day! And Dinah, big CONGRATS! on the one year anniversary! That's wonderful! :bravo:
