Sandy the way I'm going to remedy the problem about not wearing any shoes on the pads is I'm going to purchase a metal pad. They aren't cheap though, I found one on ebay for 169 which includes shipping but I MUST wear shoes while doing this or I'm going to break my neck lol. I would say that if you have the room and you can afford it and you are definitely dedicated to using DDR for exercise then I would buy the metal pads HTH!

How is everyone else doing?

Sandy and Michelle, I will also be buying hard pads if I decide to stick with it. I've been wondering the same thing about the arch support. I had a strained foot once after wearing wooden clogs a few years ago and it was AWFUL. I definitely don't want that to happen again. I wasnt' allowed to walk barefoot for a few months while it healed. Isn't there also a post on this thread about making a frame for the pads? Of course that would require carpentry skill, and I have problems running a nail in the right spot on my wall.

Michelle, I haven't tried it yet. I decided to wait after all. Ok, I might give in and give it to him this weekend, but so far I'm holding out! I have the flu and my anti-flu med that the doctor gave me says I cannot get overheated at all while taking it because it increases my chances of heat stroke, and it specifically mentions exercise. So no dancing for me for at least 5 days.

Hi every one. I found this site last night when i was looking for sites for ddr and if ppl were losing weight with the game. And low and behold there was a site for ppl like me and who too are doing the ddr thing. We got ours at Game stop here in texas, andf the pads are soft ones but they are affordable enough if it gets damaged we can replace one of them and we can take them to parties for friends and relatives they just fold up that easy.
my daughter who is 19 flew in friday and we took her to the mall. We stopped in the arcade room before we left and she got me on the ddr arcade game it was so fun she said ps2 had the home version. She and her friends have the games and play on them all the time back home in chattanooga tn area. I told curtis i had to get it too. Well last night we got the ddr extreme and bought 2 pads at game stop. We are having a ball with it. And boy did i sweat couldn't understand why any deit and exercise plans had not incorpoated it into their regimines before now. Or at least make their on computer program for ddr like game.

good to hear you are all doing well.

This game is very much on my wish list!! Hopefully after I finish off holiday bills I'll be able to purchase it (Although I only have an XBox so I'll be getting the XBox Version!)

Who has DDR Extreme, and do you have others to compare it to? That's the one I bought for Cody. I'm still waiting until his birthday to give it to him on Feb 11th....but I might give in. Might!

I have the ddr extreme but don't have the others. My daughter says the extreme is the best of the others. She likes that one the best her and her friends do it back home in chattanooga tn, and she got me to get on the arcade game in the mall with her and i liked it so much we bought the extreme version. I hope you like it Jennifer. We got ours the other night and i played for about two hours. I had to quit because i am a nurse and i picked up what ever virus going around my work place and haven't got to dance since the other night but can't wait until i get better to go at it again.

Have a good night all going to play on my gaming site.

Cody finally saw DDR in action last weekend at a church gathering. (we have a hip church) He LOVES it. He didn't actually try it, though. He said he was too shy! He asked for it for his birthday. I was worried he wouldn't like it, but now I'm excited! He also asked for two pads - only one comes with the extreme bundle. Does anybody know what brand comes with it? I might look into buying a second pad before his b-day rolls around, but I'd like to get one similar. His present is already wrapped up so I can't see it!

Hi Everyone...

I was just wondering, I have DDR2 Max and my dd just borrowed DDR Extreme from her friend. So I'm gonna try it out, however, I was wondering... the work out mode on DDR2,where you can set how many calories you want to burn... does anyone use that portion of it and if so, how accurate do you think it is? I know it's not gonna be right on accurate, but is it a good judgement cause I've been taking down the calories that I burn so I can see what I'm doing. I count calories for my diet plan, so this is why I was curious.

Thanks...
Sue...

I read somewhere that the longer you played it the less accurate it was...but I can't remember where I read that. Is there anywhere to put in your weight on it? If not, I would say it isn't accurate at all unless you are a 150 pound woman - I think that is the standard for calorie counting.
