afireinside723, try changing the times you exercise or changing the types of exercise. I tried walking/jogging before work each morning and found I wasn't sticking with it or had to make myself do so. So I changed the time to right after work before I sit down and get comfortable or do anything, and while I'm already still on that go. That worked for me. I've also found that some exercises were more boring than others so I gravitated towards those that kept me interested.
If you have a free gym, by God use it! Yikes! They want over $500/year to join the Y hear. Huh uh! No way! Our apartment complex has a small gym for $125/year. Much better.
I know about the self-conscious. I just wore baggy stuff. Now I like to wear skimpy stuff when exercising. LOL But our gym is usually empty since it's only for residents. Kinda private. Maybe you could find some fast paced videos that will hold your interest that you can do in the privacy of your own home. I alternate exercies. One that I use is
Walk Away the Pounds walk aerobics. They hold my interest. Pilates bored me to no end. I also bought a bike and take it to work on good weather days.
When I first started exercising, I walked one mile each day. A typical day now, like today, I did 15 minutes of situps, leglifts, stretches, etc., rode my bike to and from work (2.5 miles), ran 2 miles on the treadmill then fast walked 1 mile, then lifted weights, did squats, and more situps and stretches. It's a long way from the mile that used to leave me tired.
