  • Thanks everyone! And everyone is doing so well! Great job!

Quote: Congratulations to everyone on the thread- I just joined and it's good to know that I have support coming from every direction!

I signed myself up for a half marathon in February!!
I know I have to be able to do it when that time comes so now, even if I don't want to "exercise", I do have to "train"! I bought new running shoes and a few cute workout outfits and now I absolutely love to work out. I'm only up to 3 miles at a time... and I run/walk them... but it's still better than I have in a long time!
I think giving myself a goal (aside from JUST weight loss) has really helped.

You are all inspirational... just wanted to share my story.
Wow!! You'll do great for the half marathon. I'm doing my first 5k in a few weeks, but I cant even imagine doing a half marathon. Have fun! And it does help to have a goal, other than weight loss!

    And great job Igetfit!
  • Just finished 30 minutes MFC.
  • Quote: Thank you I started last September, so 95 pounds in a little under a year is about 2 pounds a week, but I am glad I did it that way, as I am very blessed no saggy skin because I did it slowly. The only thing I can complain about is smaller breasts, I went from 40DD to a 36C.

What did it for me, was a photo that was taken of me at work, I was like who the **** is that FAT CHICK? But it was me yikes! I was in self denial, but that photo was the proof I needed, I was FAT! I said to myself never again will I abuse my body and I bought the book "You on a Diet" and I also use to follow Jillian Michaels advice from her radio show, which is off the air now. But my will power came from that horrible photo, and still does. Thanks again for starting this life affirming thread.

WOW! WTG on the 95 pounds and no saggy skin! I guess there are rewards to losing slowly even though we ALL want it to happen fast! LOL!
I was the same way with the pictures. I think I was in denial about how fat I got until I saw a picture and now I refuse to have my picture taken. I'm a SLOW loser too. I'm a 42DD and I HOPE and pray these puppies go down to a 38C or 36C. They make it hard to shoot pool! I have a boobie handicap! LOL!

August 22: 33 minutes on the Stairmaster, 7 mins of abs. I plan on doing disc 21 from STS tonight.
  • First 45 minutes of the day
I just finished my first 45 minutes of exercise today.
Though it was strange not going for the almost 2 hours I was up to, but I don't want to eat muscle, so 45 minutes twice or thrice day will have to do.

Good Luck with your first 5k!!!!!

    WTG Girly!!!!

Thank you. Well I didn't lose a lot in my upper body just 2 inches in the cup size and 4 inches in band size, the most from band size because my greater omentum. I lost a lot from my waist and hips, thighs and butt a whole lot of fat went bye bye.

You'll make it, because the difference between a c cup and a dd cup is only 2 inches. Most women wear the wrong bra size mostly too small. Here's the method I was taught.

The sizing system for bras consists of a number, which is the band size (underbust) in inches, and a letter, which is the cup size (based on bust measurement.) Band sizes go up in incraments of 2 inches, cup sizes go up in incraments of 1 inch. For every inch difference, go up a cup size, as follows:

less than 1 inch - AA
    1 inch - A
    2 inches - B
    3 inches - C
    4 inches - D
    5 inches - DD
    6 inches - E
    7 inches - F
    8 inches - FF
    9 inches - G

If the size you get from this method is too tight, go up a band size and down a cup size.

eg underbust measures 31 inches, bust measures 37 inches.
Bra size should be 32DD, but if this is too tight, a 34D may fit better.

Cup size is relative - a 32DD is much smaller than, say, a 36DD. 36DD is equivalent to 34E, which is the same as 32F.

A great bra that fits properly makes all the difference.
